fort: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (6) + 16 = 22 lol
What is the impact of death ward upon this spell. Half is negative energy which DW should negate. Would Rav receive a +4 to his save from DW? If so he passes the save
Siggut Frost |
heroism
reflex: 1d20 + 18 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 18 + 4 + 2 = 29 28 damage
Siggut will move to the square flanking the drow priestess with Elise.
Siggit will try shatterspell on the priestess.
CMB for sunder is base 22+1(weapon)+2 (weapon focus, greater focus), +5 (weapon training)+2 (heroism)+2 (flank)+2 (hunter's blessing)
shatterspell sunder: 1d20 + 22 + 1 + 2 + 5 + 2 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 22 + 1 + 2 + 5 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 46 This should eliminate the highest level spell as long as their CMD is 36 or under.
Elise Sunwake |
Aura of Heroism is still active Rav so +2 to saves. Id like to wait to act until after saves are resolved and I know Hp totals.
Elise Sunwake |
Im just wating on GM to tell me if Rav passed or failed and to get updated HP totals before I act.
Death-Lok |
Death Ward: The subject gains a +4 morale bonus on saves against all death spells and magical death effects. The subject is granted a save to negate such effects even if one is not normally allowed. The subject is immune to energy drain and any negative energy effects.
This is not a death effect so +4 does not factor. The spell does make Rav immune from the negative energy so only 28 cold damage if he fails save. If we factor in +2 from heroism, save is still only a 24. Rav takes 28 cold damage (minus any resistances) and is blind as a shadowy darkness covers his eyes.
Elise Sunwake |
Elise takes a step back to avoid be flanked. She then converts Mass Death Ward into Empowered Mass Cure Critical.. She follows with a Quick Channel.
Conc Check: 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (16) + 26 = 42 vs DC 31
She excludes the baddies obviously..
Emp Mass Cure Crit: 4d8 + 15 + 17 ⇒ (4, 6, 4, 6) + 15 + 17 = 52
Channel: 10d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 2, 5, 1, 3, 5, 6, 6, 1) = 39 Everyone but baddies heals 91.
She holds her Divine Interference up in case a nasty crit happens..
Ravarel Darkwood |
Rav tries to dispel the magic clouding his vision
dispel: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16
and the hits just keep on coming....blah
used 5th lvl slot to cast Dispel Magic, 3/5 5th lvl slots remain
Death-Lok |
Actually, just realized that Rav is on other side of room so he did not benefit from Elise's 91 points of healing.
Demodand #1 Will save: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23 vs. DC 25
Demodand #1 Will save: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (9) + 12 = 21 vs. DC 25
Both still dazed.
Round 4: Drow Priestess
She casts Grace to move away from Siggut and past Elise and then she cast Boneshatter on the cleric, causing her bones to splinter!
Damage: 15d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 6, 1, 4, 6, 1, 2, 3, 2, 5, 5, 6, 1, 3) = 52 and exhausted
Elise, Fort save DC 24 for half damage and fatigued.
After saves, Elise, Siggut, and Rav to start Round 5.
Elise Sunwake |
To be fair those heals would be exactly the same as a 15th level cleric and no Radiant Servant. Healing spec clerics can just heal alot to put it blunt. At the same time this AP needs a lot of healing or its TPK around every corner.
Fort: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (6) + 21 = 27 take 26 and fatigued.
Elise holds her action till after Sig and Rav goes..

He will move over and attack her once more (20' away)
power attack, hunter's blessing, heroism, keen

Elise Sunwake |
Potent Magic for +2 caster level on that dispel? Not sure her caster level but a 26 would be the number if she's 15th..
I'll wait results of attack before acting.
Ravarel Darkwood |
Thanks for the reminder...Rav uses his arcane reservoir increasing caster level of the dispel.
26 to dispel the blindness
8/17 reservoir remain
Elise Sunwake |
Wasn't trying to meta GM, but we post like once or twice a month here lately so simply reminding him of something he had forgotten. I won't do it again after the fact.
Elise will cast Wall of Stone. She runs it across the doors in front of the priestess, then up and to the right over to the red wall. Not sure how high the ceiling is, but basically trying to stop her escape.
Death-Lok |
I was having some fun with you, Elise. I was not criticizing you. Players should remind each other of abilities, especially at high levels when play becomes so complicated. Speaking of which, Siggut is now adjacent to the priestess so I am a little confused about the position of the wall. The "red wall" is actually a pool of blood that runs through the chamber. Is your wall of stone supposed to stop her from heading north? Or through the double doors next to her?
Elise Sunwake |
The double doors next to her, but depending on how high the ceiling is she can stretch it towards the blood pool, although now that I realize it's not a wall there's no point. Sealing off the double doors will suffice.

Drow Priestess: Round 5
The drow priestess views her options and casts Grace again, moving way from Siggut and ending up next to Elise.
She then casts defensively, auto-making Concentration check and casts Waves of Ecstasy, engulfing Elise and Siggut with waves of pleasure and euphoria that cause you to temporarily falter.
Will save DC 25 save
Affected creatures are stunned for 1 round and are staggered for the remainder of the spell.
A creature that makes its save is staggered for the first round and can act normally thereafter.
In best case scenario, that you are staggered, you may take only move or standard actions, not both and no full-round actions.
After Will saves, Elise and Siggut may act, pursuant to limitations set above.

the uber-intelligent mage realizes that his positioning is actually quite stupid and is likely getting in the way of some spells Elise would like to cast.
OK! he says responding to Elise
Rav will reposition next round. Looks like the Tarrys are up to finish the round

Tarry Demodands: Round 5

Ok, now that my internet is back, on with the show.
Round 6:
The drow priestess steps diagonally 5' and casts a Flame Strike striking Elise and Siggut.
DC 24 Reflex save or suffer 15d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 4, 3, 1, 2, 2, 4, 6, 2, 3, 1, 2, 6, 1) = 40 damage, half fire, half other.
She follows that up with a quickened Blindess spell on Rav.
Fort save DC 22 or go blind.
After the saves Elise and Siggut are up!
Ravarel Darkwood |
fort: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (10) + 16 = 26success
Does Rav know what 4 buffs where negated with the last dispel?
Siggut Frost |
reflex save: 1d20 + 20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 20 + 4 = 43 Well that was a waste
149/169 HP
Siggut will move up to the priestess and hack away with his pick. Assuming a 5' step, as I can't find a current map link

Elise Sunwake |
Waiting to see results of thoise attacks before acting.
Death-Lok |
Elise, will forgive you because we just came back from a long break and this applies to you all. Do not forget that when saves are required, I require that they be posted in the first post after so as to minimize previewing and delaying the post because of a bad roll. Thanks!
Rav, you cannot tell unless you have greater arcane sight on.
The drow priestess' AC is 37 and Siggut can full-attack with a 5' step so he hits once for 29 damage.
Elise, Reflex save and your action.
Ravarel Darkwood |
luckily Rav does have greater arcane sight up and running....
're up against a powerful spellcaster. Rav wants to know what magical protections (spells and item effects) she has.
Standard action: Rav casts
greate r arcane sight:
His move and swift actions will depend on what he learns with his spell
2/3 7th level spells remain

TBH, I didn't see that it targeted me as well. I read just Siggut for some reason. My bad.
Reflex: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (20) + 12 = 32 save, take 20..
I'm not sure if the last map is still accurate.

Assuming the map is the same with this.
Elise steps back 5' and casts Radiant Assault. It will hit all 3 baddies.. Using a Dweomer's Essence in the casting.

Dazed Rounds: 1d6 ⇒ 5 If failed dazed this long as well.
Dazzled Rounds: 1d6 ⇒ 2 If save dazzled this long instead.
Again saving her immediate action for Divine Interference if a crit is rolled.

Siggut has to make a will save also, which I am sure he will gladly do.
Rav, she lost greater spell immunity, repulsion, heroes' feast, and True Seeing.

Rav is up!
Ravarel Darkwood |
Seeing the priestess affected by Elise's spell Rav now has hope that we can eliminate this dangerous foe
well done Elise
A fireball speeds from his hand and envelops his enemies
Rav casts an Intensified Dazing Fireball (from 5th lvl slot) placed so it affects the priestess and the tarrys, but not his allies.
Evocation Spells DC= 19+spell level(School Power +2), +5 HP dam, +1hp dam per die of spell dam (orc bloodline power)

The fireball wipes out the remaining demodands and burns the priestess. In her dazed state, she does not survive the full onslaught of the dwarf and dies with a whimper. Pardon the creative license but it was inevitable once she was dazed so why delay it. Ten rounds later, Mal appears from his Maze.

Elise Sunwake |
"Nice to have you back Mal.. We missed you dearly in this one."
Hearing the dwarfs comments.
"We are here to rescue the paladin Sheyla Whitemane, but we came here after Dawnflower's Kiss to redem the ghost we ran into. We can resume our search for Sheyla after. Does the vile dorw here have a sword on her?"
Malugor |
"Hey, guys, feels like I was trapped in that maze for years. So damn difficult to figure out. I just kept getting lost over and over. Glad you were able to take care of that drow priestess. I am itching for some action. What now?"
Elise Sunwake |
"First we need to find the sword and release the priestess and then back to finding Sheyla."
Elise Sunwake |
Elise needs none of the items.
"My guess is that sword is the one we seek. I will take it as it is likely to be corrupted and may try to control you."
Elise moves and picks up the blade.
