"Then we need a place or object that can provide a temporary vessel for those who souls depart their bodies." Illaro said. "Not to mention those who guard the pathways of the dead. They'll need to be dealt with also."

W E Ray wrote:

Master Tk-Chthik,

I think your idea of an "Intellectual Revolution" is quite brilliant. If we wage our "war" on three fronts -- one being the redirecting of souls (first of one particular Alignment) somewhere other than their Outer Planar prison to a place where they can be Reincarnated back on the Prime, another being a misdirection to the Outer Planar Powers, blaming that "redirecting of souls" on other Enemies (and keeping our profile low), and one being your Intellectual Revolution, convincing groups of mortals to shrug off their cosmological Alignments so they can return to their Prime Material world, memories-intact, and pursue their own immortal "godhood" ambitions in the home they knew in their mortal lives -- we can usher in a new age and greatly weaken, then destroy, the old gods and their Outer Planes.

Tik clacks his mandibles and cocks his head to the side. He then begins to speak in fluent, if rushed Common.

"Destroy? Why? Merely need to break stranglehold on cultural development. Prove they have no right to authority, yes. Destruction unnecessary. Unless they fight back. Then we eat them. But that's life."

Yeah, I figure Xixchil are basically Salarians, and copied their speech patterns. So sue me.

Tk-Chthik Appearance:

Tik's appearance is, to many, unnerving.

On top of being a four-armed, humanoid sized praying mantis, his body seems emaciated, skin withered and exo-skeleton barely harder than flesh, and he is colored a sickly pale green. His sunken eyes peer alertly, however, and his slender frame belies monstrous strength and reflexes, and a hardy constitution.

He has four arms, two of which are of wiry, withered flesh and bone like the rest of him, while the other two are gleaming pearlescent green metal, along with his legs, mechanical upgrades to his mortal form.

Along his whole body, tracing out his full nervous system (even onto his mechanical parts, where it technically no longer exists) are scratchings and markings in pale blue color. Those familiar with Imperial Kreen recognize these as complex mathematical and magical formulae, as well as details on various machines and prototypes. They flash every few minutes, and change to a new set of markings, in a seemingly endless cycle.

In mechanical terms, if anyone cares, he's got the Mummification Discovery, Limbjacked arms (one set only) and legs, and Cyberart all over his body of his various Formulae and Prototypes (in case I can snag ability to not need a spellbook, this is a good justification and it looks really cool in my head). May add some other features, but these are the set in stone ones.

O' Mighty DM what are the limits on our spending for equipping our potential PCs? As a monk/barbarian I've got 1.76 million to spend.

"What you suggest, Red Man, is that we become the new gods. Those who supplant usually replace. Is that your true goal?"

"The planes certainly could do with some new managers and a shake up of the current system. I say take the gods power. Enslave or imprison them all. Then repurpose the planes to serve the material instead."

Highonholywater here. This will be the alias for my divination wizard mind chemist.

At this point I plan on playing a ninja / fighter. I am really excited to play this out.

So am I, I now some GMs don't like roll play in recruit but just had to add a bit sorry GM

Aannraa Sal Da Qill

A new body:

She walked around the clone form.

"And all you want is a copy of my mind state?"

GSV Scream if you want more
"Yes, you came up as the most capable sim player with Contact background, we at SC really think you will be the best agent we could send."

Aammraa Sal Da Qill
"Sims with magic in you mean"

GSV: Scream if you want more
"Well yes, you have seen the Contact reports, Magic, enslavement, Sublimed gods, a whole bunch of worlds head in thrall to a bunch if godlikes playing silly buggers with lives. You know we have to try and stop it, kind of thing we do at Special circumstances."

Human: Aammraa Sal Da Qill
Looking at the form in front of her, there was find circuitry all over it. Two drones hovered by its side.
"and back up"

Drone: Alrzion Lepp-Bar
"Just use to, SC drones, Nolic here is just a linked Knife Missile,
I'm more a displacer and your back up. Nice to meet you Aammraa."

Aammraa Sal Da Qill
"What the body capable off, looks letha?"

Drone: Alrzion Lepp-Bar
"It was designed to replicate the look and feel of magic, mostly by affecter fields and adapted Grid fire, some of which is kind of counter to social norms, it why you where picked. You have been in sims that use mind control and reading."

She looked at the drone with a hard look.
"That was privet"

GSV: Scream if you want more
"These are Special circumstances, we felt you would understand"

She looked again at the body.
"All right!, you can have a copy of my mind state, no need to blackmail me. To be honest"

she smiled

"Its sounds like fun"

Guys I'm popping my Meeting roll play under spoiler so as not to clog up the Recruitment thread.

The Meeting Roll pay and talking means to kill gods, why we are an d group etc and why we act as one group with a single aim.

The Meeting - Roll-pay:

She had been displaced here just a few hours before. now she was getting the sign off.

GSV Scream if you want more
::"Happy now Annraa, after years of waiting and working we have at last got our anti-god-like cabal. So now this is where I sign off, its over to you and your new chums"::

Annraa Sal Da Qill
::"Your bugging out?"::

GSV Scream if you want more
::"You bet ya, I am, this cluster of worlds has some big bad's that would not take gladly to a Culture craft being this close, and I am 100 light years out, Masked under layers of disguisers and sneaking around in hyperspace. Big and mean as I am, I really don't want to get in a open fight with a bunch of sublimed god likes. We have spent our time setting this up, getting this group of like minds to meet at long list, so you know the deal, its over to little old you now, have fun, try to not get wasted, and Scream out."::

And with that he was gone, way out and some where off down the spiral arm. Her 40km long trillion ton, god-like AI mind, bad a*s, back up was off away from this *&** storm.

Drone: Alrzion
::"So its just us then, well looks like this shindig is starting"::

Aannraa
::"Yep, now shush! lets hear them out, see who's thinking along our lines, and record all this 5D"::

She sat there, an a seat of force, a odd liking slender female humanoid with two small identical objects hovering each side of her head. They seemed to be made of Crystal and metal.

She had said nothing up to this point then to all there minds she sent this message, also tiny Holo-graphic text in common in-front of the eyes those with mind blank running who want to black out Telepathy. :)

::"I hope you don't mind me talking to you all like this, As a representatives of the Greater Galactic community, I thank you for letting me attend your meeting. As you my not be aware of we have been keeping taps on the activity's of a local criminal group of sublimed beings know as your local gods. This with-in the Greater Galactic community is considered a class 1 culture crime. But where most class 1 crimes would lead to direct intervention, with the case of beings mascaraing as god-likes we have to take into acount the affect on the cultures they are embedded into and the effect such and intervention would have on them. As such we and"

She looked over at Tk-Chthik and nodded.

::"Others seek to aid said cultures in overthrowing the god-likes from with the culture itself. I am her to help and facilitate that as are others. Now back to the subject at had, we all know we can't openly fight the so called gods in the worlds they have enslaved as there play ground. There is a saying, 'you can kill a snake in two ways, cut off its head or cut off its body at the neck.' the latter seems to be the root we all want. As has been said, this can be done in a number of way, 1: A counter culture movement, with information supplied to the populous that undermines faith and belief in gods as a very idea, that will sap there power. 2: Direct intervention by us into the power structures they have in place, again with the aim to sap there power. 3: False flag actions the sow distrust and conflicted views and open conflict in the ranks of the god-likes. 4: Meme-bombs, memetic constructs implanted in to the culture that trigger when the godlikes retaliate on retaliate on supposition of what may be happening, this would have the affect of wrong footing them and keeping the initiative with is. 5:Once then end game starts, we will need one or more Godlike Scalps, to solidify the cultural transition to universal suffrage from god-likes. Then the star systems enslaved can join the greater Greater Galactic community, with all the knowledge and change that will come with that."::

Then she is silent once more,

If you try and peek at her mind, its an impenetrable all of shifting pattens of information, you may get the idea the mind that holds it is a little wee makingly scarcely complex, phenomenally fast and utterly Alien

Alexander believes the best way to reduce the gods power and hold on their domains and planes is to force them into a direct war, hopefully killing as many of them as possible. Such a power vacuum must be seized quickly and the rest imprisoned while the outer planes power is shifted to the material.

He also thinks there is a way to shift/siphon the outer domains power to the material prior to said war in a way to weaken the gods and make it easier for them to be imprisoned or destroyed.

... Eh, I tend to make the crunch first, and then go for the fluff afterwards. I'll just make my character and see if there is any issues with it.

Hey DM how would you rule a Monk's Robe works on a 20th level monk? Do I calculate as if I was 25th level monk or would it be useless to me?

Shady_Motives wrote:

Well you can only buy items that exist if you last any crafting skills. I suggest you find some way to protect yourself from divination. You can use Monks robe just calculate how high 5 more levels would be.

I think you are all going to need at least another week to fine tune your characters (lots to buy), but I think I am going to accept everyone so far.

Err Shady as Gestalt PC's don't we take just the highest Gestalt sides money for Level not combined money from both?,
Mine works out at 880,000gp

Come again? Does that mean we start the game with nothing and have to craft it or come across it or can we just buy whatever from the books? Or if we want an item we have to have the crafting skills to make before we even start?

As you can see I'm a little confused.

The Iron Orchid wrote:

I'm a pure martial class (unchained monk/unchained barbarian) so I get 200% money as per DMs houserule. That comes to 1.76 million.

arr got you 200% it is :)

yes no pre game crafting, Purchasing any item is full price

not 100% on custom items pre game start, like combined ones,
I am taking it you can buy but at full price.

I think the idea if NO pre-game crafter discount, that is factored into starting cash by the GM

Ok I'll clarify my question. I want to buy a couple of the Tomes +5 at 137.5k each. Do I just subtract them from my total or do I have to craft them/find them in game? Before we even start?

And fyi for anyone wondering, I'm resetting my sleep schedule so pulling a 24 hour awake session. Keeping myself busy with lots and lots of green tea/honey and crafting this guy. So much paper work and double checking for a gestalt 20th character with 17 RP race and +2 CR templates. And I've already got an idea for another one lol.

I have two uses as upgrades [Flavour] I paid full price, pre game.
Paid v my 880kgp

That seems to be ok as others have done it and its like any kit got before start of game.

Ah see thats what I needed to know before I starting tallying up costs for some of the hybrid items i'm creating to conserve body slots. Amulet of mighty fists+natural armor, very expensive but worth it.

Is it called the amulet of natural mighty fists? Heheh

Nah I'm calling it the amulet of the iron tree.

Also DM, no one can have artifacts correct? Pretty sure of the answer ,just want a definite NO before I make any assumptions.

I'm working on a sith like character from Numeria. Will have something up in a bit.

I don't know yet, it's something I've been wrestling with. I spent an hour last night working on Crunch, that seems to be the bigger time-eat now than finishing development.

I can see it going two ways, for now (subject to change before -- or during -- play), either I want to rule a Realm on the Prime Material like a Razmir, Queen Abrogail or Lord Gyr, or I want to be a "god figure" to many Realms on the Prime Material but still live my life there, maybe more like a Pope or something.

But I haven't really decided yet and, moreover, these are things that could change through the course of gameplay.

"It should be noted that we do have some other fallback plans. First since we are here in Golarion, there is the Starstone. It is possible to fulfill a quest and ascend to godhood. We might need that level of power if we are to attain our aims. Secondly, if we need a hell of a distraction, there is the fact that Rovagug is imprisoned in the center of this world. When they bound him last, it took all the goods to do it, and even then some were lost. Honestly I don't care much for a Rovagug solution since the consequences of it being free are much worse than the status quo. "

Shady_Motives wrote:

NO

The goruk looks over the newest speaker and scowls at the suggestion. "The starstone test makes us beholden to some god or other. That uppity slut Iomadae had to follow Aroden around like a lost puppy all because he snapped his fingers and said 'come', right up until he kicked the bucket himself. Then her and the crone split his powers and followers. What happened to prophecy since she's taken up those powers? Nothing. Not a damn thing. She denies mortals the right to look forward, to plan, to choose their own destiny and then sits in judgment of them when they make a blind mistake. And we want to claim the prime for mortals, not annihilate it by unleashing that mad god. He's on the list like all the others but not until we've got a plan."

"You have an odd view of history. The Starstone has granted godhood to a fair number, and quite a few are beholden to noone. Aroden was nobodies lackey, nor is Cayden Calean. Just because you dislike one god does not make the Starstone any less of a credible option. "

"Alright then, you name a god you respect for what they've done for this world. Is the cults of the sunflower who redeem instead of finish the job? Is it the Shining Truth for forcing the mortals to fend of a demon army while she sits behind 'divine mandate', not getting involved directly while millions are slaughtered? Or is it the drunk? The whore? The nomad? The one trying to redeem her deranged brother instead of doing the cosmos a favor and putting him down? The gods treat mortals like playthings and test subjects and expect us to thank them for it. Illaro growled. "Twenty gods. Twenty heads that need to be on spikes."

He wont be like this all the time, he just really really really hates the gods.

"Having a grudge against the gods does not preclude one from using resources. Why you can't grasp that is beyond me. "

Grand Lodge

I'm all for this campaign if we can all agree to work as a team -- no PvP conflict. So, despite our differences, if we all support each other, I'm in.

I'm playing up the barbarian aspect of my character more then the monk part. He's a savage warrior who eschews any weapons and grasps victory with his own bare hands. He wont ever attack anyone in this group unless they attack him first. He just doesn't hold back, no matter who he's speaking to XD. I've built him to be the unkillable meatshield who stands between his allies and danger. And he's not the brainiac most of you seem to be. He's not stupid he just hasn't had to think much beyond "How do I kill it?"

"I grasp it just fine. Use the tools of the enemy and you might just become that very enemy."

Freaking amazing. 1.76 million gold and I've gone through most of it and still not done.

So... how does one become immune to divination via items?

Item with mindblank. Having it enchanted at 20th level will cost around 200k.

I have her templates now, Advanced CR1 And AI CR1 she has a synthetic personally constructed by godlike AIs and placed in an Advanced alos sythetic Elan body, from that point her Classes take over.

THE MEETING ROLL PLAY:

Annarra in her well made uniform like outfit looked at the two as they seemed locked in a debit.

::"There is a saying where I am from, 'if you stare into the abyss, the abyss stares back at you' we must be mindful not to replace one set of despotic god like beings with another under the pretext of change. No matter how fine our intentions if we become like the very thing we seek to destroy then we may as well stop here and now. A word of warned, others in the wider cosmos will know duplicity when they see it here."::

FYI you can enchant an item with Mind Blank at 20th CL for a minimum of 160k gold. If you add it to a preexisting magic item it will be 240k @ 20th CL.

Been following the thread and thinking about a submission.

So, caster's can't get a break from crafting, and get half the cash?

Why exactly are martial characters getting a cash boost?

Is it to reduce the number of casters in the group?

There seems to be some questions about gear.

What I have gathered so far is:

1) no price break for custom crafted gear.
2) player must have craft skills(feats?) for any gear not in the book.
3) combined items are ok, but must follow rules #1 and #2.

A caster may end up with more gear if they get a price break and burn feats for crafting. But this has been eliminated. With gestalt, most casters are going to have the same (or similar) need for armor/weapons unless they take full casting on both sides (which is kinda dumb).

A martial character can only wear one suit of armor, and only wield a few weapons, so they will most likely be using a lot of that extra cash for tomes and manuals.

So it sounds like martial characters will have better stats and defenses than a caster class.

I like playing a rogue/wizard. I will have half the cash of the fighter/monk or 2/3's the cash of a rogue/bard.

All three of us will need armor (100k), at least one weapon (200k), and then the defensive items like resistance (50k), mindblank (200k), nondetection, etc. At this point the wizard is out of cash, and hasn't even bought extra spells, only getting 2/level for free. However, the other classes are now spending the extra cash on tomes and manuals, more weapons, more situational defensive items, etc.

So I'm curious what you are hoping to do with the cash distribution.

Shady_Motives wrote:

So... Custom Ring of Mind Blank for 160k gold?

Hmmm, well the +5 tomes of Cha & Wis where just there cuz I could. I'll drop them to get more room for cash.

Or you can buy:

Headband of Sealed Thoughts

which appears to do it (assuming items from Mythic are allowed).

Feel free to borrow this, slot can be changed, and option for two different caster levels are provided.

Void Band

Aura strong abjuration; CL 17; Slot headband Price 244,800; Weight 1 lb

Description This headband protects the wearer and all of their gear from detection as the spell mind blank.

Construction Requirements
Craft Wondrous Item, mind blank; Cost 122,400

Price calculation:
8th level spell x 17th level caster x 1800 command word =244,800
8th level spell x 20th level caster x 1800 command word =288,000
8th level spell x 17th level caster x 1800 command word /5 1/day =48,960 (If you get dispelled with this option, you're waiting until the next day to activate it again.)

drbuzzard wrote:

The problem with that is it can be overcome by Wish/Miracle/Limited wish and doesn't convey the +8 to will saves that legitimate Mind Blank does.

Looks at my character with his 22400gp armour and 18375 weapon and looks back at you

Come again?

We are not mythic yet, GM said we will get access to mythic in game later. So Mythic items and such are out I think for now.

None Artifact/none mythic/none epic items

Headband of Sealed Thoughts doesn't follow the crafting rules.

A +4 enhancement is 16,000, increased by 1.5x for multiple abilities. Even assuming that the mind blank effect is the 1/day minimum needed option, that's another 48.96k, also increased by 1.5x. The spell turning is use activated so that's another 182k. The differences are the required save to spell turn, and the reduction in coverage from the mind blank.

@Fury, for simplicity I took maximum cost for armor and weapons. Feel free to replace your costs across the board, the argument still stands.

Hey DM do you allow items from 3.5 Item Compendium? Namely the weapon crystals?

fnord72 wrote:

Not... really. 30k Weapon, 30k Armour compared to 100k/200k gives you an extra 340k to play with. That means even as a caster would have quite a lot of money to use in the game.

Sure, it might not be able to buy as many Tomes as a martial character will be. But you have 9th level spells, its a fair trade.

fnord72 wrote:

Since one side of your Gestalt is Rogue, you come out to 150% gold.

The only ones who don't get extra gold are things like Wizard/Cleric or Druid/Inquisitor types.

Basically it trims down on double caster classes, unless they're both 6th level casters, and gives pure martials a needed boost.

Or psionic classes that have powers all the way up. Which is all of them

The Iron Orchid wrote:

?

Only the Psion, Vitalist, and Wilder are "full" Psionics characters. Cryptics, PsyWars, and Dreads are 6, while Marksman is 4 and Soulknife can potentially be.

Edit: Oh and the Tactician. But who has ever seen ANYONE play a Tactician for long?

@Fury, my 20th level wizard has 8 9th level spells. That's it. Any more and they cost me $3825 each. I have 4 8th level spells, extra's cost $3000 each. And that doesn't include the material cost to add them to my spell book since I'll pretty much have to spend another 12.5k on a blessed book.

The 22.4k you have for armor is a suit of celestial? Why keep it there? For another 16k you can have +5 chainmail celestial armor. And there's no reason why you couldn't have it crafted up by adding on some special properties to have Heavy Fortification Celestial Armor +5 for 113.4k.

The 18.375 weapon could similarly be increased. Not sure why you would want only a +3. Having at least a +5 enhancement is almost a necessity. But, your choice.

@Sundakan
Ahh, I thought that a full caster on either side was a flat 100%.
