    If you had rolled another 1, I would have rolled on this chart.

    The risk of rolling two natural 1's in a row is pretty low though. Perhaps I'ma change it, make it harder to avoid the fumble, but not now.

    on a cursory google search I've come up with nothing. Ill look more once I'm off work but damn do Morlocks ever have a truck load of health.

    Magnes gauges the situation before taking moving slightly fur the back "keep 'em off me, if ya can! the drunkard then pulls a flask, tossing it into the air with a forceful hip thrust and catching the object with his teeth. The Dhouvarr then goes through a rapid transformation and expandes in size to dwarf the other combatants.

    Looking at their defeated foes, Rhialla will see to collecting anything of value from the Murlocks, the broken chandelier, or the room at large. Once she is done with searching the room Rhialla looks around at the doors and sighs, "We are going to need a map. Which way now?"

    The now large Dhouvarr gives a kettledrum belly laugh Sorry lass ah' Figure-.." The oversized Dwarf drops silent with a small blush and a wince as he realizes the volume of his own voice. "Ah' figured tha' holdin' back agains' such foes was a fools errand, might as well spend tha' coin such a potion cost me an' live another day. Tho it seems as if such a worry was unfounded, wha' with how quickly we ended those poor sods." The massive man says in a brassy whisper.
    "Ye' can use tha' back ah tha map I have to make one ah this place, I'd say we start by openin' tha doors in this hall an' continue from there."

    For those Interested Magnes is currently 8ft4in and weighs about 1600 pounds at this moment. He sounds like Andre the Giant but even a little bit deeper still in tone.

    From what I can gather I cast Mage Armor before entering the castle. Will have boosted that with an arcane reservoir point for 3 hours of mage armor. And In combat I used Shocking grasp and first missed, then hit (so only 1 spell. As you can hold the charge on a touch spell if you fail to hit.) and myst healing. So 3 energy & 1 arcane reservoir. Just doing my book keeping.

    "It seems you have more than just alcohol in your possession Magnes. Good to know. How long will you stay like that?"

    I noticed that there were a few perception checks made for me. Not that it mattered the first time around as I wasn't anywhere near 22, but I assume you are taking into account the +4 for seeing things that are trying to hide due to my mystsense right? :)

    Rhialla will start with opening the doors on the right. Then the left, then the doors flanking the stairs, stopping to address each room as they become revealed. That is, after the room was searched and when everyone is ready.


    Both doors to the right lead to a great dining hall. One of the doors to the left lead to a large chamber with several beds which much have been for staff. The other door to the left leads to a large kitchen. There's nothing of interest or value in either the chambers, the kitchen or the dining hall. Someone has looted all the silverware. The doors on each side of the stairs lead to a large inner courtyard with a beautiful stone fountain in the middle, which have become overgrown with vines. There are two levels of balcony above, and a door in each side of the courtyard.

  • Magnes attempts to break free from the entanglement as a move-equivalant action. Magnes Str: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 He does not succeed. He spends a standard action going into Total Defense, gaining +4 AC for the duration of 1 round.

  • Rhialla moves directly perpendicular to the vine's movement to get away from the entangling foliage area and throws her spear at the vine. She deals 16 damage to the Lesser Assassin Vine.

  • Kevroth reloads his musket.

  • Koija moves back from the entangling foliage of the court, and throws a dagger at the vine. 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 He misses.

  • Although he is entangled, Sabrik moves up to the Lesser Assassin Vine and attacks it with his katana. attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20 damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 Sabrik deals 5 damage to the Lesser Assassin Vine

    While the party heals and rests up, Rhialla investigates the fountain more closely, before pressing on to the second floor of the castle.

    " gift from meh family" the giant responds in a loud whisper. "Dunno how long buh' last I had cause to use one it wasn't more'n a minute."
    The breakwater estimate proves accurate as he shrinks back down in less than a minutes time, the dwarf rolling his head with a loud crack and following along

    Magnes follows Rhialla' closely and lounges next to the fountain as he looks at the building.
    This proves to be quite the problem, when the assassin vine strikes.
    "Oil! Off a me ya over-affectionate geranium!" The Dhouvarr cries as he attempts to wrestle free of the creeping vines, but finds all his struggles get him are vines in his belt loops and foiling around his weapons.
    "Gerr' off ya damn root vegetable! Rhialla' stab this cursed weed harder!" The dwarf struggles further but discovers that while he might have freed his arms and weapons that his beard was now half topiary.

    As the plant slackens the dwarf rapidly removes the stubborn plant matter from him, drawing a blade and chopping at the roots holding him. "Righ' so any oppose to voting from here on we stab any other vines that we happen across in this building? As our Forge pri- Lady Rhialla just proved they stop trying to strangle you if you stab them firs'

    "Stabbing every plant we come across sounds a bit extreme, but given the unnaturalness of this place, I might be inclined to vote in favor of that measure." Rhialla says helpping Magnes pick a stray leaflet from his beard.

    The fountain is just an ordinary fountain. You return to the entry hall and ascend the grand stairway to the second floor of the castle. You find yourself on the balcony from where the morlocks leapt down on you. There are two doors west, two doors east, two doors north, and stairs leading up to the third floor.

    There are still some doors on the ground floor that you either missed or I failed to mention

    Magnes gives a nod of thanks before flippantly muttering "Wha'next tha' damn chamberpot gonn try an' kill us?"
    The dwarf then glances about the second floor. "So, ought we ta search every room or you think we should just head up to tha' top an see whats waitin' fer us?"

    "There is no sign of the missing townspeople, but we should ensure that nothing can trap us on the upper floors, so let us secure the ground floor completely. Let us continue from the fountain courtyard, working our way out.

    Starting on the west and moving clockwise, Rhialla, or the others, will check each room before moving to the next.

    The western door in the courtyard leads to a corridor with two doors, and at the end of the corridor to the north it turns east.

    Continue the same exploration method for the hall surrounding the inner court.

    The first room is a study with a window from where the moon shines in, illuminating the bookshelves, desk and chair. There is nothing of value in the study.

    The second door leads to an outdoor area with a shed, a pigsty and an entrance to a tower. The skeletal remains of several pigs lies in the dirt of the pigsty.

    Through the next door, you find a blacksmith's workshop with an outdoor forge area. There's a couple of longswords, a two-handed sword, a large steel shield and a scale mail.

    Through the next door there is a large empty hall, which is probably a ballroom.

    The next door leads to an outdoor area with an archery range and a tower.

    The last door leads to a lounge with couches, armchairs a large mahogany table. A lone morlock jumps from one of the couches and runs through the door to the dining hall.

    Did the Morlock close the door behind him? If yes, then we can circle around and come from the main entrance and the other hallway.

    If the door is open:

    initiative: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

    Rhialla will move to see where he went without going into the room if possible and ready an action to throw a spear at him if he does something aggressive. As opposed to just running away some more. Or if he is already doing something bad, she just attacks the morlock.
