I said I was going to rip that noble off for every Red drake he offered, it is still my intention to do so.
I think if we get the help of old Algaer and perhaps our investigator friend I could reliably pull something off.
What it comes down to is that if these lovebirds want to be left alone they either need to prove Greven is in fact a noble of the land.
Which would mean sending a hit squad out to kill him a bad thing. It would mean a lengthly court battle that they would have a high chance of losing but the good griffon king might rule in their favor with the evidence we have.
That or they discard any trappings of nobility they presume to hold, and travel to far distant shores.
Magnes would willingly give them half of his share of the Bounty from the Lady's father to help such a thing. Plus Alegar would likely help us as well were we to get him in on it.
Faking the Lady's mournful suicide after returning home with the (false) head of her former lover would be quite easy to pull off. Spread the right rumors and fathers business gets hit badly enough he has no real time to look deeply into his daughters apparent death for quite some time.
Even were he discover the ruse later it would be far to late for him to ever have a chance of finding them again.
Of course then we have an angry noble after us but I'm alright with that. Better than leaving these two to get hunted down by crueler hunters than us.

Fixed my attics plus edited my "edit" in gameplay thread. Like written there -> had to extra pick my CRB after I posted to confirm if I had it right... apparently forgetting stuff is normal

not sure if much. I guess they are pretty poor but I would say for future it would be good to have some connections or help them flourish out. Might be beneficial for us in the long run
and Koiji: We went on the 6th to the Castle and now its 7th so I guess just the night passed by. It didnt take so much time I guess?

*shrug*
I'm cool with using whatever money we might have gained from such a venture to throw a proper party and see the deceased's families be taken care of. Heck I'm willing to throw in a chunk of Magnes's gold to help that along as well. Death by brain spider does not sound like a gentle death, and it doesn't bring bread to the tables of a family that no longer has a provider.
As to time I was figuring it was still morning by only the smallest of margins. and/or the town cleric/spellcaster did some hoobie doobie to speed our sleep.
( this as an example)
Magnes Coalbrow |
Hrmmm... point.
That would make said cleric healing us difficult, and also very awkward to wake up to.
"Why hello again, turns out you didn't kill me well enough. I jut figured I'd pop in and inform you of your mistake while the paralysis powder kicks in and I light this entire village of sheep on fire."
"You sit tight now."
Koija Hirano |
Didn't want to mention it :) But yeah, I was guessing we would be up late and if not all of us, then Koija would stay in bed till he slept long enough. :)
Magnes Coalbrow |
I'm just going to hope some misguided sense of honor has lead Gavren Blackrose and the Lady to stay and speak with us rather than go to ground.
That ought to be an interesting conversation to deal with on top of all this stuff about the town feeling they owe us a rather huge favor.

How very good of you Magnes! Congratulations on shifting to NG :P

*Eyeroll*
Thanks Sailor Violence, so where do I get my mini-skirt and tiara?
Now now, no need for name calling, although I imagine I would have been more inclined to watch that cartoon if that was an actual character.

It is all meant in good fun. The fact that you fly, worship a goddess of beauty and need to punish things in the name of THA PRETTY! makes it a hard comparison to ignore.
Though if you every feel the interest Madoka Magica is a rather fantastic deconstruct of the whole 'magical girl' thing in the same way Evangelion is of the mecha genre.
Yes the series is very cute, give it until the third episode and watch that label peel right off.

Rhialla doesn't have her tiara yet :D
I'm surprised I hadn't seen Madoka Magica yet, now I have something to watch at work tonight, thanks!

*glances to Headband of Charisma*
*glances back to Rhialla*
Soon.
Also the Crown of swords is awesome.
I would suggest Barakamon to return your shattered twisted emotions to a better place after watching that one.
I'm not joking about the Evangelion reference.

New diary entry up on the wiki.

Did things get sold?
I'm going to give everyone another day to look at the list and speak up if there is anything they want. Most of the expensive stuff is spellcaster equipment. I'm not sure how any of the spellcasting works in this group so I don't know if they want scrolls and spellbooks or wands. So everyone please take a moment to review the spoils chart. Ill finalize everything in the evevening of 5.8.15.
Kevroth |
After looking at the list, I think it is safe to say that I will have enough to upgrade my musket.

Item's Koija will be claiming :
Agalar's Grimoir
Scroll of Shadow Weapon
Scroll of Mount
Scroll of Fox's Cunning
Once he has transcribed all the spells in his spellbook (will take a while though) we can sell Agalar's Grimoir and Enguar's Grimoir. Scrolls will be used up on moment of inscribing in spellbook.
Going to calculate how much "ink and other items" it costs me to put all those spells in my spellbook. :)

So that would be :
Charm Person
Hypnotism
Protection from Good
Ray of Enfeeblement
Protection from Evil
Shield
Burning Hands
Shadow Weapon (from scroll)
Mount (from scroll)
Aggresive Thundercloud
Spontaneous Immolation
Alter Self
Bull's Strength
Fox's Cunning (from scroll)
Which would be a total of 290 GP and would take 33 hours to copy them into his spellbook (1 hour per spell to study them, then 1 hour per spell level to write them in his spellbook ) He also needs to make a DC 15+spell level spellcraft check, but seeing as he is supposed to be doing all of this in a quiet environment anyway he should be able to take 10 and currently auto-succeed on any spells of lvl 4 or lower.
Rhialla Arken |
Since Koija took all the scrolls and spellbooks as I suspected he would, I went ahead and did a pay day.
449.51 derims (gp) go to everyone
Let me know when you want to return the books to sell, Koija.

Stupid question maybe, but does the town shop have enough money to buy everything we would want to sell ;)

So far even a thorpe sized settlement (less than 20 people) would be able to afford our spoils, but it might be a concern when we try to purchase our first magical weapons.
How big is Dalkalar Chingo?

Time to write a bit about indivual adventures :) Actually, I even might consider writing time to time a short interaction of Bhalur communicating to Dragon Matron. Somehow it suits him and just... I dont know, fits perfectly like a cat in the box or anything cat fits :P
EDIT: Wow, now I saw the diary of Rhialla to her Matron Sereniti. Didnt expect such a coincidence

So I kind of feel like we just stumbled onto the option to go play monster hunter in the drakkendeep.
Don't know if we will find any gold down there but exotic beast hides/ parts sell quite well.
As a brother of the sun I'll just have to hope that our Dhampir proves to be a crouching badass. He'd going to need it if he plans to hunt or mine the drakkendeep.
Bhalur Blackthorn |
Uuh, My Spindersense are tingling!
Sabrik and Bhalur both underground for prolonger periods.... WOHOO, Cats on the walls guys!
and I do hope for your sake Chingo its not going to be a huge area since otherwise we are doing plenty trips in and out
Magnes Coalbrow |
Darkendeep, Drakkendeep, underdark, below
Lots of way to say 'creepy caves with nasty things in them'
I'll see if I can remember your setting's version of it though.
I get the feeling Greven is going to be disappointed if he wants us to work for nothing.
Though Magnes would be entirely fine with drafting a contract that nets us a sum of money either monthly or yearly in exchange for risking our lives to bring Greven and a team of prospectors/surveyors under the castle and set up a perimeter around any discovered gold veins.
I'd also say that there is another method if Greven being a Dhampir in all this proves too much of a thorn.
Salve of the second chance

I was figuring we could wait any until our wonder Deer-cats and the amazing musket man had a chance to speak on our determined direction. Though assuming Kevroth agrees that partial ownership of a goldmine is something worth crawling around in the dark for they are likely outnumbered in votes.
Also means Bhalur has a chance to actually use his diplomatic skillzzz'
craft: 1d20 + 10 + 2 + 2 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 10 + 2 + 2 + 5 + 1 = 38
Assuming dc30 for an old recipe with quirks.
Magnes' brews as If possessed by the high drunk himself.

So, the next destination is Darkendeep and the surrounding tunnels eh?
This will take some time I guess. Did we have time limit in the original one? (to bring the girl back) Since then we should get this done quite fast and I have no idea or want to think how big and deep this place is... without even speaking what Chingo has planned for us :)
Magnes Coalbrow |
We are looking for ore veins or likely spots to them. Our job is to scare off the creatures inhabiting such places.
Once we have a few good veins we get things patched up and secure, blackrose starts mining and the money means next time he needs to expand he can hit other people.
So we are likely going to stick close to the blackrose estate and close to the mountain surface.
fould change if our mighty DMING give other information though.
Rhialla Arken |
I think the darkendeep is our next place to go, especially with Greven offering a share of the fortune should we secure the mines and the area beneath the castle.
There is also that dungeon beneath the fort a day or so walking that we can explore, but that would only be for fun, unless Greven wants us to secure that tower anytime soon.
Does anyone not have darkvison? I was thinking even with 60' of darkvision we could use a bullseye lantern with a continual flame cast within it to give us 120' sight lines and then up to 180ft worth darkvison.
Koija Hirano |
I am also not part of team darkvision, but beween the light, dancing lights and spark cantrips I should be able to see enough in my immediate area. Bullseye lantern seems like a good idea to try and spot things in the distance.
