Sabrik |
Okay, I'm here
Sabrik |
I'll let balhur go first.
Sabrik |
Sorry, misspelled your name :P
Sabrik |
I propose that we are either siblings or good friends
Bhalur Blackthorn |
Thinking along the lines of:
Bhalur moved years ago out of Tirvala and roamed around the continent.
On his journey he had the chance to meet one of the Acolytes of Dragon Matron. Upon this meeting his curiosity was sparked about these good-dragon protectors.
As he learned more of them and got in touch with other people from the same order, he also was initiated at somepoint to be one of the "Acolytes of Dragon Matron". After a while he received a blessing of Matela as a black pseudodragon.
As he continued his journey, he was moving currently along the way towards Arglondar and happened to meet upon a road another Bhakiri riding magnificent beast.
Sabrik |
My "Beast" at the moment is a horse
Sabrik was raised on the outer portion of Trivala, near the forests. His parents were druid, but Sabrik didn't have skill with magic of the forest. So he learned to handle weapons. He learned from his parents the names of beasts in the woods. He was given a horse at 16 years of age. Soon he learns how to fight mounted, and he learns the code of the beast. Feeling bored with his life, he left for adventure in the world. As he travels he comes apon bhalur, an acolyte.
Sabrik |
by the way, later on I'll be able to polymorph my mount into a medium/large dragon
Sabrik, not very suspicious about other Bhakiri, suggest that they travel together
Bhalur Blackthorn |
Yah, I do agree with the idea of being good friends.Might make it so that we have traveled quite a bit together prior arriving to Arglondar and forming good bond along the way
Bhalur Blackthorn |
Upon hearing the invitation of traveling together, Bhalur readily agrees to the invitation. It has been indeed a long time since he had a companion to travel with outside of his pseudodragon friend.
Thank you for the invitation. I will gladly accept it. My names is Bhalur Blackthorn
Walking along the other Bhakiri Bhalur motions at his pet/familiar Before there is anything else going on, I would like to note my friend, Shaer, the black pseudodragon. As an Acolyte of Dragon Matron, I have received the honor of taking care of his gift, as a show of my loyalty and faith towards her.
Starting a small talk with the friendly Rider, Bhalur keep mentioning small things about his life but not yet too personal until having more knowledge of his current traveling companion
Sabrik |
Sabrik responds in kind, mentioning his horse, Brunzwick.
he tells him about how his parents had given him brunzwick as a token when he turned 16, and how he'd trained himself to make weapons, holding up his spear in proud rapture.
but he holds back, not giving specifics. he may not be suspicious of Bhalur, but he still wasn't friends.
Bhalur Blackthorn |
Along the long way, which would last weeks, Bhalur enjoys the conversation with Sabrik. Continueing with his story, he explains more about the Acolytes and the people in the religion of Dragon Matron.
As time passes, Bhalur opens more up and explains of his interested towards Matalar and this religion. He compared the experience and ideals of protecting the good dragons as same as balancing the nature, in the same way as others Bhakiris, who followed Listeners (hearing the Nature's Voices). Wasnt it the same here with the good dragons, since they were also part of the Nature and Order of balance?
He got a bit deeper of his character and how he had traveled quite a lot around the places but has not yet traveled north until now due to chance of hearing some rumors. Being a huge even among Bhakiri'S it was hard to not notice him.
Big Bhakiri with black fur, resembling more of obsidian colour, with no armor except heavy armor shield on his back, Scythe on top of it aswell Longsword resting against his hip on the right side.
More Bhalur talked, he opened a little more and explained with great affection about the pseudodragon resting on his shoulder.
how long actually it takes to ride or walk between cities in Mystworld? also is it really normal to have Bhakiri as a Acolyte of D-M as I would imagine it being quite an uncommon occurrence if not even more than a rare
Sabrik |
I'd probably be walking, using my horse as a pack animal during all this
Sabrik thought of that. "good, bad, who decides that? the gods? no it is the onlooker, he decides. balance is only achieved when you can see that there is no control, no black and no white... only grey"
as time passed, he too begins do disclose his past. he'd mainly stayed in woodlands, being more familiar with them. but he has now decited to travel more, and is glad to hear about the world from bhalur.
Sabrik is a normal sized bhakiri, with brown fur and bone white antlers. he wears hide armor made from the hide of various animals, from deer hide to wolf pelt, he more accurately resembles a barbarian than a knight-like warrior.
Sabrik listens to Bhalur intently, stating later that he actually doesn't care much for Brunzwick
Chingo Chaplo |
Here's the old map of Arglondar. Will upload a newer version asap, but the cities will have the same names and be in approximately the same locations, just to give you an idea of the lay of the land.
Sabrik |
sorry this is my last post for the day, i can finish it tomorrow, but the story is going well right now. longest back-story I've ever done
Bhalur Blackthorn |
mhm, all good and well
Curious at the statement of Sabrik, Bhalur inquires curiously about it, clearly affected by his Bhakiri side Oh, why is that? Surely Brunzwick isnt that bad or? Not that it isnt my business
To continue his stories of journeys along the small towns and places as to not make it uncomfortable with his question, he explains a bit about the locals of Arglondar, which he did learn from other people or just exchanging simple tidbits of information with other travelers. Through his experience and seeing the behaviour of other people outside of Bhakiris was entertaining and did provide much amusement as Bhalur explained the weird habits of some humans getting drunk most of the nights ["just for fun of it" as they called it explains a bit about his high skills in diplomacy, perception as well in sense motive
Along the way Bhalur kept scratchign Shaer's head showing great affection towards pseudodragon and occassionally humming to himself as he listened Sabrik explaining about his cirmustances and things he had done
Magnes Coalbrow |
@Sabrik You might consider the War bull if you decide to get something else as you level. Well so long as you don't mind getting called Paul those creatures are pretty awesome.
Standing at a crossroad is a Dhouvarr, about four and a half feet of stocky build. A traveling pack festooned with gear takes up much of his back with a stocky metal banded cask on both sides of the backpack. The humanoid wears a hefty looking manner of leather armor with belts and pants stuffed with various pungent smelling things. He wears a fine hat with a short beard of sun bleached dark hair. His cheeks bear the color of one comfortably drunk.
The dwarf sighs looking at the one eared tabby cat standing in front of him. "Mao." says the cat.
"Jus' because I fed ya on account of pity doesn't mean you should follow me ya pickled headed surface beast." the dwarf states with growing frustration
"Mao." says the cat licking a paw as it looks at the dwarf
"I've many miles to travel and only so much liquor to pass the time with. you've a home with the farmers down the way and've no reason to want to come with me. That what I gave ya was the last of the milk I had, all I've got now is old pack rations what taste like old boot and ale enough to forget the taste." The Dwarf explains with some irritation to the rather large cat Seen dogs smaller'n this'n wha do they feet their beasts around here?
"Mao." says the cat
The dwarf gives another exasperated sigh.
"I'm gonna leave now, If you follow me a shaggy dog or onea them flying things is going to see your big fat rump and eat you in two bites."
The cat says nothing but seems to exude an aura of smug as it looks up at the dwarfs face. The creatures eyes almost seeming to glimmer with a canny wisdom, the cat then sneezes. Perhaps it was just gas.
Sabrik |
meanwhile Sabrik and Bhalur continue their traveling.
Sabrik eventually tells Bhalur why he cares little for Brunzwick:
"he is prey, hunted. He feeds the hunters in the wild. And between every life is death. Eventually I can't protect him against the hunter. So I've learned not to grow attached. Sure, I may be wrong but I'd rather not be burdened by loss."
Sabrik adjusted the buckler on his offhand, and looked ahead, to the trail ahead.
I'm back. Here's my response to the last Bhalur comment
Sabrik |
@Manges: I'm thinking more about a giant gecko, the whole fighting while hanging upside down is interesting.
also, I've changed to samurai, but kept the archetype, since samurai is cavalier just different. I can still have my mount, order, and almost everything but my teamwork feat, to I just changed over.
Sabrik discloses how he hates those who disrupt nature, but he seems not to care much for civilization.
Sabrik |
REMINDER I'm on automatic during weekends,
Outside combat: acts casual, may attempt to intimidate merchants into lower prices, even if the price is reasonable. If working on one, will work on weapons on downtime. Otherwise eating, sleeping, and caring for mount.if mount dies, will find another one ASAP
Skill related actions: usually doesn't use knowledge on anything other than nature. Will not swim if possible(has fear of drowning), and will remove armor before attempting to climb or a armor penalty skill.
Other:likes druids, finds guns distasteful(but would take one if he can), and will loot anyone he kills but not other's kills
Sabrik |
I have a wakizashi, but I'd rather make a Katana.
As for the portrait, I saw this and liked the picture
I added me on auto above
Sabrik |
Yeah, good idea... I'll switch some stuff up
Kevroth |
Greetings guys. Posting from work, so it may not be until this evening that I have Kevroth Finished.
Sabrik |
cool with me,
@Chingo, I got a Katana now, but have a short spear instead of a normal one. I also lost some other stuff, mainly some oil, and my hunting horn(that was unneeded anyways)
Sabrik |
Yeah good idea
Sabrik |
Perhaps I knew him before Bhalur, when I was training to become a samurai.
Sabrik |
Yeah, I also would like to know bhakiri languages, I just assumed common and druidic
Sabrik |
Good to know
Sabrik |
So... I know how me and Bhalur, meet, time to explain the rest of y'all!
..............you go first :P
Sabrik |
You know, I'm actually kinda glad that we have at least one "normal" character. Having a whole group of creatures that are fairly uncommon in the world is just a coincidental mishap... It's better to be a little diverse in race, but always good to have a human, elf, or good old dwarf!
Sabrik |
Last post for the day, on autopilot till Monday, thanks everyone!
Have a great weekend
Bhalur Blackthorn |
Ah, that reminded me-> do we have a Favored Class bonus or we should disregard it?
Kevroth |
Background is finished. Equipment will soon follow.
I want to use the Defensive Strategist trait which is a religion trait from Torag. Which of the gods would this best fit?
Bhalur Blackthorn |
Well, I was either thinking of your typical +1 hp or +1 skill points as usual but then remembered the alternate class favored options.
Was leaning maybe towards DR x/magic for my pseudodragon but I am not really sure if that is so necessary but you never know. How protective should I be towards my pseudodragon in Mystworld?
Chingo Chaplo |
@Kevroth Nice background story. Regarding the Defensive Strategist trait, I don't see why it couldn't be non-religious. The goddess of the Lhurienathi is Sibilune, the Moonmaiden, Goddess of Dreams. A god of battle strategy would be Baladorn Baleras.
@Bhalur We could work something up. How does 1/4 DR/Magic sound? The procection of your pseudodragon is a key concern for the Acolyte of the Dragon Matron, but it can always stay back in combat.
Movin |
So unless there is an issue with such Magnes is going to travel with this Barn Cat that I just conjured up. I'm imagining him as some sort of Tabby/Maine coon breed being unreasonably large for a housecat.
I seek no mechanical benefit from this but find the idea of Magnes getting lumbered with a pushy house cat an amusing thing. Though as a cat it could just as easily could wander off later on.
As to the character linking we seem to be doing I'd say that having never been outside the stone walls of his mountain before that Magnes has a very high chance of getting lost in the forest somewhere.
Campfires attract attention in the dark and Magnes has Ale to share.
@Bhalur, You might consider lugging a Familiar bag (effectively an armored beltpouch) to keep your familiar in range and safe.
Bhalur Blackthorn |
Hm... I can easily think couple situations, where minions of evil or other aligned mobs would target Shaer (pseudodragon) due to its being related to Dragon Matron.
So at lvl 20 it would have effective DR 5/magic... hm. It does sound nice considering Bhalur himself is already bit beefy with 12hp. Though not sure which direction I should go. Get that extra +1 skill per level or focus more on pseudodragon benefits
@Movin that is actually a good idea. Have to consider it and sounds cool to have a empty beltpouch just for resting/sleeping place for the pseudodragon
