After seeing the shopping list in discussion, I found my hope diminishing, but I can still hope, I guess.
I would not read too much into that, since I have yet to give all our applicants a good look over. I didn't know that one of them brought a 'look trough walls' thingy with them, so lets just chalk that up to 'great minds think alike!' instead : )

Works for me-

My trainwreck of thought just went "Hey, I have that too!" - "Hey, she just looked at me before to scan applications!" - "Hey, she would not need that if I come along! But she found the item useful!"

But aye, your version sounds a lot better As no matter if i get choosen or not, I will feel I at least got the general direction right ^_^

It's hard to avoid some similar ideas when building characters. I was really close to taking the exploration domain, which would have given me see through walls myself. I generally avoid looking at characters until I'm happy with mine. I went with redemption because I needed a little more combat effectiveness.

After over a decade of PBP, I've gotten used to not getting into games. I've run a couple and sometimes it's so hard when you have lots of good applications.

I guess I may second this without giving anything away.

"Speeeaking of color,"Diene's eyes gave a bit of a slight delighted roll as she spotted an opportunity to get to the point she had been aiming for. She leaned on the wall nearby, posing forward slightly, "I was wondering where you're from, your story so to speak. I've not seen a Keleshite with your skin tone, nor a Mwangi with your fashion sense. Not to mention the Chelish accent." Diene's eyes suddenly then look aside as though distracted, and her smile drops. "And yet, I just did. Huh. That's a weird turn of phrase, aaaaanyway. Back to you." Diene refocuses her somewhat expectant gaze on Tino.

On the other subject of ooc debate, Diene somehow comments, "On the subject of great minds think alike, there are two things that happen when you put a bunch of geniuses in the same room. You either get an explosion or a continent-shattering evil golem powered by the heart of a dead god that rebels against their control. Fortunately, it's usually the former, and the only hard part is timing the leap from the top story window with the explosion!"

A solution I've seen is for the unaccepted is to see if they can't find a GM among themselves to take the second party's worth of folks in and run a tangential campaign. Usually the GM is kind enough to let the folks borrow the starting premise. :P

Always a good thing when it happens. :)

Hey, if anyone does want to do that, any chance I could submit a PC... :)

Heh, I know, right? :P

I actually love the idea and setting. I was reading through some of the original campaign recruitment and backstory stuff when it was started by Spooky and may just run something similar once one of my current commitments wraps up. I'm careful not to take on too much on the GM side and right now it might tip me over the top.

Having said that, if I do decide to spin off a game like this I'll definitely poke some folks here if they don't make the game and they look like solid applicants.

I'm going to bow out. This week reminded me that I am actually already falling behind on the Campaigns I am in now. It isn't fair to anyone for me to add to that. Even if the Campaign is awesome.

It is traditional to talk of how hard it is to select applicants at the end of recruitment threads. In this case I have 10 pages of discussion from the committee to back it up!

These characters are fantastic. I wish I could take everybody, but after a lot of discussion I would like to congratulate the New Guards: Dienne, Thrius, De Morgan, Isama, and Daria. Please report to the discussion thread.

Ladies and gentlemen, it has been a pleasure. If you do decide to run a game, I wish you all the success in the world.

Well, sad I didn't get picked, but I wish y'all the best.
Have fun, and keep order!

Wow, five of us! Thanks all for participating. There were a few more of you that I would have liked to play with, but the Committee's choices are also good. Better luck next time to the rest of you.

Excellent choices... to the last. Have fun!

Quotes of the day:
”Every city has its favorite blood sports. Some cities prefer the traditional cruelties of bearbaiting or cockfights, while others indulge their baser appetites with gladiators and arenas. The city port of Haven gets its thrills from the dirtiest, bloodiest sport of all: politics. It was election time in Haven…” – Simon R. Green, Winner Takes All
”I’ve had a tense couple of days. And I’ve got to tell you, burning someone’s face off sounds like a great way to relax.” ― Jim Butcher, Small Favor

Thank you all for participating in our recruitment. There were many great and fitting applications submitted and it was definitely not easy to choose “only” five.
Our selection process was certainly not as bloody as election in Haven, but maybe it was no less exhausting.

I wish you all happy gaming wherever and whenever you game and will be glad to see you on Paizo forums in the future.

And if any of you will decide to create a similar game, please do not forget to ask our GM for submission ;-)
