some big jumps here, as i am leveling from 6th to 8th:

Ability Focus: Unwilling Participant (taken at 7th level. finally my DCs match! less confusion this way, and honestly should have taken this one first)

+1 power known, up to 4th level power. Havent chosen yet, but will before we leave town. as a reminder, on rest i can cycle powers known so no biggie there.

EDIT: as a side note, i can also transfer the exhausted, panicked, nauseated, or paralyzed conditions within the collective as well now. so if Raun gets exhausted after a rage, if we still have an enemy up i can send that their way and leave Raun feeling refreshed :D. Same if they drop a stink cloud or fear aura on us, although that would take a lot of actions to clear off of several people.

Grit's alias is updated. Per your ok DM Under a Dark Sun, I have traded out Weapon Finesse for Lightning Reflexes (Seemed to made sense. Plus with evasion +2 to reflex saves might come in handy). Plus, per your request I moved the skill point from Fly to Acrobatics.

So all I need to do is to make my purchase. And I want to add in a few elemental and maybe a plant form to his profile to be ready and save time when/if he ever assumes one of those forms.


@Nnn: Correct, your share is being used to take the bracers.

@Woki: Ghostvision gloves are fine - you can pick up a pair from one of the traders Arisphistaneles knows

@Daina: That wand is fine. You can bank the remaining 1,000 cp or spend it on scrolls - lemme know your preference.

@Grit: In that case, it's a special "rod of longstriding" that can be used by anyone ;) It seems like the sort of that thing that would be useful to traders, if expensive, and it's really just a plot device to allow you to get to Crossroads in something of a hurry.
Also, a druid's vestment is fine. You have the body slot open, if you want to stick with a robe or tabard appearance, or you could go with a hide vest or shirt instead and use the chest slot.

A body slot is perfect. I like the hide vest - druidic symbols tattooed into the hide with a dye of berries and nut oil. 3750.00 levels me 250.00 for later.

Also, another GM starting up a Dark Sun campaign is looking to fill a spot and asked that I pass along an invitation to my players to submit a character.

Here's the pitch from the GM, Fabian Benavente:

A spot is open for a PC in a Dark Sun game. Current players are:

male human slayer;
female elf flame oracle;
(This is the character I submitted)
male mul preserver; and
male halfling hunter.

We're looking to start on January 31. The DM's pitch is as follows:

I am looking for "roleplayers" whose posts are NOT a one sentence reply. All players are expected to write two to three paragraphs per turn recap within 48 hours after the recap is issued (so about four to six paragraphs per week) so if you can't meet that schedule please do not bother applying to the game.

If this sounds like a game for you, then post a character with the following sections: a) appearance, b) background (with NPC hooks), c) personality, and d) portrait or picture. Please make the characters interesting, the strong and silent types just don't cut it in this type of game.

Please post see the campaign tab for additional information (character generation, etc.)

I'd recommend that you take a look at Fabian's Mummy's Mask campaign to get an idea of what he's going for - it's a little more involved style of posting and recapping than I do here, and will require a commitment. He's also running relatively close to standard Pathfinder, with few house rules. Character generation guidelines are on the Campaign Info tab.


Folks, I'm getting my ass handed to me by a work project at the moment, and expect to be burning the midnight oil on that rather than writing up a game post. Look for more fun with Quag and Skarr (whoever they are!) Friday night or Saturday morning.

I love greater flaming sphere. The damage is decent, but more importantly I can throw it around and light people on fire while casting other spells. On top of the damage the effect of catching people on fire forces them to try and beat the raised DC to put it out or suffer from more damage. It's great!

Hmmm, I seem to have forgotten to select my new second level spell. I'm tempted to say see invisibility, but that's a bit meta-gamey, so I'll go with one of the three I originally narrowed things down to, and say animal aspect, seems like a good utility spell for Raun.

it would be +5 to AC, which while useful, she's already got shield which she doesn't usually get around to casting. Animal aspect just seems like a more versatile spell, climb speeds, skill bonuses, etc.

I'm going to wait for a map. My AoE spells are heavily dependent on how they are grouped.


I'm not planning on putting together a map until the next turn. I can tell you now that all of the enemies are at least 45-50 ft. from each other, so unless you have spells with a 30 ft.-plus radius it's not going to be an issue.

How do you mean? Did I mis-write something?

The Seeker has an ability (costing 1PP) that makes a portion of movement become teleportation rather than normal travel (thus allowing him to get out of the ecto-sphere.

Bloated spider is the big one to the south.

If he expends his psionic focus, his assassin's maneuver gives an extra 2d6 damage.

Using the punisher's ring, damage becomes maximum, but half of it is nonlethal.

Oh sorry, I didn't mean it that way. I just have no understanding of how psionics work, so it's like you're speaking Chinese to me. I barely understand what Nnn does, and he seems to be a lot simpler than Gorkhan.

Psionics are a lot like regular spells, but they use a point system.

So instead of telling me i can cast four 1st level spells and two 2nd level spells as a level 3 wizard (or whatever they get at that level), Psionics tells me i get 10 power points (enough points for 1pp per 1st level power and 3pp per 2nd level power).

However, psionics has different priorities than magic, in terms of effects. so where magical healing spells are abundant and powerful, psionic healing powers are less so. But psionics prioritizes things like temp HP and DR, so they are available at a lower level than in typical spellcasting.

so with my 10pp, i could instead manifest (cast) three 2nd level powers (3pp each) and one 1st level power (1pp) instead of the 4/2 illustrated above. OR i could cast seven 1st levels and one 2nd level, or ten 1st levels.

a positive thing is that i have to know less powers, because i can "augment" low-level powers, spending more PP than necessary to make them more powerful. For instance, the Energy Ball power. I can spend the 7pp to cast it, which is the equivalent expenditure of a 4th level spell for a wizard. I must be level 7 to cast it, and it does 7d6.

BUT, if i am level 9, i can spend 9 points instead (if i want) to have it do 9d6, and the DC is increased by 1 (as it is then the equivalent of a 5th level spell).

So, powers scale better than a wizard's might, but the downside is that a 9th level wizard casting fireball is gonna do 9d6, and he expends a 3rd level spell. a 9th level psion HAS to spend a 5th level spell's worth of energy to do that damage.
