Male Half-Orc 9th lvl Cleric, 4th lvl Ninja, 1st lvl Black Flame Zealot

Picked up Haarlocks Legacy Two today. Very good read, and some creepy similar story threads.

I must be part of the Warhammer 40k hivemind by now. I read the blurb about the basic plot and wondered if there would be some similarities.

anyone reading the horus heresy novels?

and do forgive me for the dirty harry quote in the IC LOL

Yeah just started reading Fulgrim. Read the first 4, and Listened to The Dark King/Lightning Tower.

Dirty Harry is fine. Just don't start saying, "Right turn Druuther."

Heh, forgiven. It gave me a chuckle.

Remember this. Before all is said and done, I may be guilty of a couple of those myself.

For negotiating the journey to Vaxus District, bringing Quincus to safety and medicae care, and surviving the gunfight with the Yellobouros gangers, everyone gains 200 XP for advances.

I just want to say that I have been very impressed with everyone's overall play, roleplaying skills, and ability to bring to life the Warhammer 40k universe. I am looking forward to where we will take the campaign in the future and excited to find out what happens now that we have reached this particular juncture. The reunion encounter in the Gear Box should be a great one.

It's been a blast to play with all of you thus far, and you have made it more than worth the work I have put into things so far. A GM can't ask for much more!

Male Half-Orc 9th lvl Cleric, 4th lvl Ninja, 1st lvl Black Flame Zealot

Thanks Rook,

Appreciate you provided the atmosphere to give our characters life. Really enjoy the story so far, and look forward to having Savalos around for the long haul.

For spending XP I took Peer:Underworld, and Security.

Hope to see everyone alive at the Gearbox!

Male Humanoid Lurker 1/ Nerd 1

I'm honored. Thanks for being a good DM, by the way.

Spending my points on Shadowing and Acrobatics.

Dark Archive

Male Human Warhammer 40K GM

Thanks guys. Savalos and Iacton's updated sheets have been posted. In addition, Fate Points have been refreshed. They will be refreshed again at 800 posts.

Male Catfolk Shade (magically altered human) Monk-8, Mage-16

I am spending my 200 xp's on Psy Rating 2 (No surprise there.)

I also am enjoying the game. The GM sets the atmosphere and you have been doing a fantastic job at it, Thanx.

My psyker powers for psy rating 2 are:
Dull Pain(8)
Healer(7)
Staunch Bleeding(8)
Chameleon(7)
Spasm((7)

OK, thanks Lorm.

I have updated and reposted your sheet. Given the dearth of space available on the character sheet (although I squeezed all the minor powers in, anyway) I have added a page to your character's profile on the wiki for easy reference and to better list your minor powers and discipline/discipline powers to come.

New advances, cool :-)

Rookseye, could you do me a favor, and on the psychic assessment page, indent the words. The Dark Heresy logo on the left overlaps the list when printed. Thanx

If I knew some scripting it would be easier, but alas, I use the wikispaces WYSIWYG interface for the most part. Since I do all my editing on a widescreen laptop, sometimes this happens, although I have been checking on my standard sized screen at work to make sure things don't look too weird.

Anyway, I added some periods to offset the potential overlap. Let me know if it helps, Lorm.

Male Catfolk Shade (magically altered human) Monk-8, Mage-16

Thanx Rookseye, the logo only covers the periods, not the words.

OK, Rico has been updated and posted.
I will post our NPC advances here as well.

Advances: Awareness (100) and Dodge (100)

Ishmael:

Still Rank 2: Initiate
Advances: Basic Weapon Proficiency (SP)(100), Common Lore Imperium (100)

Ivaanov:
Still Rank 2: Technographer
Advances: Simple Intelligence (100), Simple Willpower (100)

Each has been updated and posted to the wiki as well.

Rookseye, Balfic's internet is down. He is hoping it is up by tonight, but who knows. He thought you should know.

Dark Archive

Male Human Warhammer 40K GM

OK, thanks Lorm, had that problem myself today for a while. I'll focus on getting the larger group reunited with him.

Male Catfolk Shade (magically altered human) Monk-8, Mage-16

Rookseye, Balfic asked if you would set the scene with him, and as soon as his internet is up, he will respond. If not, he will come over to my house and reply tomorrow.

Dark Archive

Male Human Warhammer 40K GM

OK, not a problem. I should be setting up the encounter in the Gear Box tomorrow anyway. I had the opportunity to watch Inglorious Basterds tonight and couldn't pass it up.

Male Half-Orc 9th lvl Cleric, 4th lvl Ninja, 1st lvl Black Flame Zealot

Internet and cable are both finally up. Will start catching up on posts.

Male Catfolk Shade (magically altered human) Monk-8, Mage-16

Rookseye, I am going to work soon, so I will not be able to post until later tonight. I will post when I get home. Tomorrow will be the same. I thought you should know ahead of time.

Dark Archive

Male Human Warhammer 40K GM

OK, thanks for the heads up Lorm. I zonked out after a long day at work last night, so I missed my post (but caught up on some much needed sleep). The post tonight should get everyone to the Gear Box for the much anticipated reunion.

Male Half-Orc 9th lvl Cleric, 4th lvl Ninja, 1st lvl Black Flame Zealot

Everyone needs to catch up on rest every now and then. Will be interesting to see what happens in the Gear Box. See you later today in game.

Ouch. Good thing you got some rest earlier this week. See you in the Gearbox.

Hello everyone. Radical's Handbook is awesome. Can't wait to reach rank 5 and be allowed to become a sin eater.

Also, can we take the sworn radical elite package?

if Dove dies, Johnnie becomes more violent.

Glad you like it Rad, I thought it was a great book.

As far as sworn radical, there will be time yet to ponder that. Let the course of events play out in the campaign a bit more before committing, however. I imagine everyone will have to make a lot of character defining decisions once the acolytes have a better grasp of their particular situation. From a meta-game standpoint, it is pretty clear that we all know Ahmazzi is a radical, but the characters don't quite realize that. Yet.

For Rad:
I would expect nothing less from our hard-boiled detective. We shall see, though.

On a different note, my copy of the warhammer fantasy roleplay 2nd edition core book just arrived today.

What do you think so far, Rad?

Mine has been sitting on my shelf since I got it. I'm saving the read for when I have the uninterrupted free time. I have to say I'm impressed with the box alone, it's enormous. I was a bit disappointed that the books weren't hardcovers, but the thing would have weighed like thirty pounds if that was the case. FFG's games have all been top notch so far, so I'm prepared to impressed with the design itself. The big concern I have, is that without some application to mimic the new dice mechanic, it will prove more difficult to play online.

Male Catfolk Shade (magically altered human) Monk-8, Mage-16

Rookseye, my monthly salary is 70 Throne Gelts, plus if you allow it, 7 more for being a Neonate. So my question is how much money do I actually have? Is it just my starting funds or is it more? Thanx.

Dark Archive

Rook, I think you're referring to the 3rd edition of the game. The one I got is a copy of the one I lost in the flood, which means we can continue with that PBP if you are all still interested. Or a new one whichever makes it better for you.

On a side note, do please continue the excellent work you've done here.

On a further side note, anyone here seen tropic thunder? would the plot of that movie work in the Warhammer 40K universe?

Male Half-Orc 9th lvl Cleric, 4th lvl Ninja, 1st lvl Black Flame Zealot

I am still for playing your game Rad. Granted I forgot my defense for the Dwarves. Would be good to see Vulpert and the rest of the gang again.

Dark Archive

Haven't seen tenowar in the past couple of weeks on these boards though.

Spoiler:

Oh well if the other players don't turn up I can always rule that the dwarfs executed them.

Dark Archive

Male Human Warhammer 40K GM

I'm all for continuing the game or starting another Rad, whatever works for you. I just noticed the mistake on the edition assumption. As someone who still prizes his original printing of the first edition game, I should have been paying closer attention.

Lorm, this amount is just your personal accrual of salary. You, and any of the acolytes for that matter, have the means and authorization to draw upon considerable sums of Inquisitor Ahmazzi's funds. For the moment though, the gelt you have on your sheet is what you carry.

That's two for a WFRP 2nd edition PBP.

Is 3rd ed a worthy investment (almost US$90)?

I noticed that this is the favored posting time of most of us. It means I just need to arrive earlier in the office and not to spend this time in transit.

If you are going solely on looks, wow, yes. I managed to get a copy for $66 or so on Amazon. I have not looked too deeply into the mechanics as of yet, but the tone and feel of the game seems to be the same. From what I have read of the new dice mechanic though, it really seems to mesh well with helping to tell the story. I'm of the camp that there is nothing wrong with 2nd edition, so I picked up a copy of 3rd solely on the excellent track record the FFG's RP division has. I'll let you know my impressions as I read it though, if you are interested.

Yes, my most productive posting time will be from 8PM-11PM Eastern U.S. time, although I am occasionally able to post a few entries at work during downtime. Don't feel the need to adjust your schedule, Rad. I am fully comfortable with the one post per day standard established at the beginning of the game with the occasional days off. Not that it isn't fun to fire off a bunch of posts when everyone is on at the same time!

Dark Archive

Presently at home hence the multiple posts. It's almost lunchtime where I am BTW.

Male Half-Orc 9th lvl Cleric, 4th lvl Ninja, 1st lvl Black Flame Zealot

Haven't used 3rd ed myself. I have heard mixed reviews on it. I mostly have a mix of 1st and 2nd ed books; mostly 1st ed.

I've been waiting to drop that particular plot bombshell for a while now. Even with the scattered foreshadowing, I hope it was worth the wait.

Male Half-Orc 9th lvl Cleric, 4th lvl Ninja, 1st lvl Black Flame Zealot

Stories great so far Rook. I am sure Rico will be thrilled.

Male Half-Orc 9th lvl Cleric, 4th lvl Ninja, 1st lvl Black Flame Zealot

Rook,

Spoiler:
I need to know if the description of Krade that Uriah gave would match up with the description of the man who took Maia from Emrit's hospice. It will have long standing implications for my character if it was him. ie: If it was him, Savalos will probably kill him unless he's a fast talker. Having someone kidnap the corpse of what Savalos regards as his kid sister, and turning her into a servitor will have an extreme reaction from him.

Dark Archive

Male Human Warhammer 40K GM

Balfic:
Bal, without comparing Kirsch's description to images of Krade on the pict-corder (although this poses its own hazards), or finding some other media that depicts him, you cannot be absolutely certain. Based on descriptions you have heard of Krade from the others and information you possessed beforehand, you believe that there are distinct similarities.

The only thing about it is, you cannot be sure. You are relying on Kirsch's description for the most part. However, this is not to say that I don't expect you to do everything in your power to find out the truth. After that, I fully expect the truth of what happened to have serious ramifications, one way or another.
