Dark Heresy: The Oremor Affliction IC

Game Master Rookseye

On the agri-world of Oremor, at the very fringes of the Malfian sub-sector, acolytes of the Inquisition and their allies must confront a sinister conspiracy that threatens to shake the very foundations of the Calixis sector.

Happy New Year!!!

Better late than never :-)

Male Half-Orc 9th lvl Cleric, 4th lvl Ninja, 1st lvl Black Flame Zealot

Sorry for the late response Rook. Totally missed the post about weapons and placement in the Casino. Been out of it the last few days.

Figure Sav would keep his Father's Scerrido, the Hand Flamer, and his pos auto pistol on his person. He woold want the Shotgun close by as it is the weapon he is most comfortable with. Well hidden though. If he can he would like to wear his armour under the Suit he is wearing for protection, even though he would much rather wear his furs.

Congrats, Rook, on your Pats destroying my Broncos. That was ugly.

Male Half-Orc 9th lvl Cleric, 4th lvl Ninja, 1st lvl Black Flame Zealot

Yeah Congrats, since I am still bitter Eradico's Bronco's beat my Steelers last week Lol.

Male Human Warhammer 40K GM

Thanks Eradico, the real test will be this coming weekend. I suspect it will be Baltimore. With San Fran playing in the other conference title game it looks like it will be coming down to whether or not offense or defense is more important in the NFL these days.

The Pats may have set back organized religion for good after that thrashing, though. It looks like Brady & Belichick's deal with the devil is alive and well. Tebow was a thrill to watch last week, not so much this week. He remains an enigma.

Bal, I don't think that was the best the Steelers could have given, the injuries to Ben and Mendenhall along with Ryan Clark missing the game gave the Broncs an opening they made the most of.

I'm still rooting for a New England/Green Bay rematch of Superbowl XXXI, would be fun to watch those two excellent offenses and two lousy defenses set some scoring records.

Oh, and as the previous post indicates, my demise has been greatly exaggerated, lol. Just lots of extra hours spent at work. I'm hoping to catch up on posting today/tonight and tomorrow.

Funny you say that. During the game I thought the coach looked like a Sith Lord. Darth Bellichick, lol.

Just commenting on one of Bal's older posts:

It is actually a nice series so far. I can't say I was to impressed with the first scenario, the Apostasy Gambit, as some of it seemed to be almost like an introductory D&D dungeon crawl with a coat of Warhammer 40K paint slapped on; but otherwise salvageable for the most part. The second, The Church of the Damned, was very well done, with some very interesting settings and conflicts. The final chapter should be good as well. The focus on Tzeentch and the corruption in the Calixian Ecclesiarchy serves as a good backdrop.

humm I am thinking I am going to see some light soon.

LOL! This should be epic!

Why do I hear the music from Mortal Kombat all of a sudden....

hum like this Mortal kombat

Dark Archive

Male Human Warhammer 40K GM

Hmm, I wonder what kind of Mortal Kombat 'fatality' a Disciple of Sollex tech-priest would have?

Well it would be a lasgun mechadendrite coming up like a scorpion stinger and going crazy until the corpse falls to ash. But since I dont have the skill nor the items I will have to do with a monosword up side the head.

Love it -- For the Omnissiah! Brother Emeric would be proud! :)

I thought it was appropriate ;-)

I agree, nice touch with Mechanicus Cog, Kaltos.

Although it isn't an official holiday in the states, enjoy the Superbowl tomorrow everyone!

As a spoiled Patriots fan I will be rooting for the Tom Golden-Boy and the Belichickian Sith-Lord as per usual, so try not to hate us too much if we somehow manage to win it (far from a sure thing this time around, but the last time against the Giants was SUPPOSED to be a sure thing, so we'll see, I guess).

I'll be hosting a little get-together with friends Sunday as I know some of you certainly will, so posting will probably be waiting until Monday morning/night at the earliest.

So, in the true American way, make sure you eat, drink, and enjoy the game (and the commercials)!

Enjoy the game, Rook! Me and the family will visit friends ostensibly for the Super Bowl but more likely I'll end up playing Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride, or Dominion. Any way you slice it, should be fun!

Go Giants! (Even if they are really New Jersey.)

Male Half-Orc 9th lvl Cleric, 4th lvl Ninja, 1st lvl Black Flame Zealot

Hope everyone has a good Super Bowl!

I cannot believe Uriah made that inquiry roll.

You were owed some good rolls by the dice gods, Lorm. This might be the beginning of a good run.

A Quick game play question, would there be a way to tire out your opponent? The only thing that I see was grappling to induce the fatigued result.

Dark Archive

Male Human Warhammer 40K GM

Kaltos, I don't think there is anything that covers this in the rules as written, but that's what a GM is for. If that is the technique you intend to utilize in the coming encounter we'll determine a viable mechanic for it.

Sorry for the quiet week guys, I've been at work way more than I'd like this week but I should get some of my free time back once the new employee is trained and ready to go; hopefully by the end of the month. I'll be posting over the next few days to catch up some. Thanks for being patient.

Now to give Oremor Affliction some love.

Male Catfolk Shade (magically altered human) Monk-8, Mage-16

Sorry about the late posting in DH. My work schedule has been all over the place.

Dark Archive

Male Human Warhammer 40K GM

No worries Lorm.

Tonight had a Deathwatch vibe for me, so I elected to update the Sons of Jericho.

Fear not, the next update will be the Oremor Affliction.

I am slowly but surely getting back on schedule at work. Posting frequency should be picking up over the next week or so and largely returning to something more normal as of April 1st.

Thanks for bearing with me guys, these six and seven day workweeks have been brutal.

Dark Archive

Advance Happy April 1st :-)

Meant to get these last few posts in last night, but conked out.

It feels good to finally be granting some revelations regarding some of the mysteries of the campaign so far (specifically talking about the most recent Vincent/Ryuk post, do you see it?).

Also, a special reward to the first of you who can tell me what the significance of the Righteous Dawn is from a metagame standpoint. Here's a hint, it will take a little research in your DH sourcebooks!

Finally, Happy Easter everyone!

Dark Archive

Happy Easter to all :-)

Rook, here's the link answering your query http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_news.asp?eidn=2210

"Entire Grey Knight campaigns are also possible, either using the Dark Heresy or Deathwatch rule system. Justicar Maligante commands the strike cruiser Righteous Dawn in his pursuit of his named adversary, the Lord of Misrule. The Grey Knights under his command serve the Inquisition in a variety of ways. The Ordo Malleus calls upon them to pursue threats along the Spinward Front. The Righteous Dawn is one of (if not the) fastest vessels in the Calixis sector, so no military force can respond as quickly to a daemonic incursion the Grey Knights."

Dark Archive

Male Human Warhammer 40K GM

Wow, Rad, that was quick!

Reward to be announced a later date, and don't worry if any of you missed out (Rad did have a timezone advantage on this one as I am up REAL late) since there are three more chances left.

Dark Archive

It was near 3 in the afternoon when I saw your post, Rook.

Sword please :-)

That as a QUICK answer, thanks!

Yes it was quick :-)

Doing research for my stock investing. A bit of prognostication and the warp.

Two questions: How do the Hardened Environmental Bodygloves differ from the Hardened Bodygloves in the Inquisitor's Handbook? And are there 12 cases of grenades or 1 case of 12 grenades?

That said, as far as equipment to take from the armory, there is some that Vincent will take and some I think the group should take.

Vincent

  • Blank, Unpowered Dataslate
  • Guard Issue Field Pack
  • Lamp Pack
  • Microbead
  • Weapon Maitenance Kit
  • Writing Kit
  • Flak Greatcloak
  • Hardened Environmental Bodyglove
  • Mesh Cowl
  • Respirator/Gas Mask
  • Good Quality Laspistol
  • Charge Packs x2
  • Hunting Rifle with Red Dot/Telescopic Sight, Silencer
  • Hunting Rifle Rounds x50

Group

  • Auspex/Scanner
  • Cartograph Dataslate (Oremor Variant)
  • Combat Ration Packs x20
  • Combi-Tool
  • Guard Issue Medpack
  • Magnoculars
  • Multi-Key
  • Compact Pict Recorder
  • Hot Shot Charge Packs x5
  • Case of Frag Grenades
  • Case of Krak Grenades

Ellipsis, the Hardened Environmental bodygloves are essentially a combination of the Hardened Body Glove from the Inquisitor's handbook, and the Environmental Bodyglove in the Inquisitor's Handbook, p. 150-151. They are "Hax Hostile" field suits designed to mitigate the oppressive effects of the southern archipelago's tropical heat and humidity.

Each case contains 12 individual grenades of the type specified.

Equipment taken is noted, Vincent. After Ryuk selects his, I will have Launce take his pick of the spoils and distribute the rest of the 'group' equipment to each of you.

Dark Archive

Ok will be making a list of things Ryuk needs to survive the 41st millennium. Though he will probably forgo any firearms.

In that case I will ditch the mesh cowl, since the bodyglove covers the head.

Additionally, would it be possible for Vincent to create a makeshift scabbard for the Sliver of Calyx from one of the machete scabbards?

Certainly, Ellipsis.

While Vincent secures the items on the plinth, Launce gathers the following for himself:

  • Auspex/Scanner
  • Cartograph Dataslate (Oremor Variant)
  • Lamp Pack
  • Microbead
  • Hardened Environmental Bodyglove
  • Respirator/Gas Mask
  • Combat Ration Packs x5
  • Combi-Tool
  • Good Quality Laspistol, 3 Charge Packs, 1 Hotshot Pack
  • Combat Shotgun, 6 clips of ammunition
  • Flamer, with Promethium Flasks x3
  • Chainsword
  • Grenades, his share of the cases, Frag x4 and Krak x4

He opts to let his companions decide who will carry the Magnoculars, Multi-Key, Medpack, and Compact Pict Corder, and the remainder of the ammunition, grenades, and field rations.

Once Ryuk has selected what else he will be taking from the armory, I will move the scene along.

Dark Archive

Ryuk will take:

the body glove,
lamp pack
microbead
respirator/gas mask
combat ration packs x5
the forcesword (is this best quality by any chance?)
some number of grenades as Vincent
and the laspistol with 3 reloads.

Oh Ryuk would like to have cloak for that new look hehehe

Sorry for the delay.

Rook, can I double-check what the team knows with regard to players in the tourney?

1 Wardja as Odo Wimarc
2 Thul as spire noble
3 Leprade-Arbite betrayer
4 Trizo-Yellowback chaos minion
5 Lady Czinzia, who has some sort of connection to Thul (Wardja heard this via vox-traffic)
6 Suspensor-assisted blob Fulcusian agri-magnate (why am I seeing Baron Harknonnen?)
7 Rogue Trader Jeremiah Blitz

Is everyone on the acolyte team privy to this info?
