Beyond the glass several figures in heavy armour - much heavier, and much bulkier, than the armour the cursed marines had worn - moved around. There hideous distorted forms caused a tingle of fear even down the most fanatical back, and even at this distance, it was clear that the bulk of one would be more than the group put together. As would be the firepower. Weapons that looked like two barreled bolters and crackling powerfists were a common sight, although some kind of Autocannon was also a noteworthy item.

Two stood out in particular. One was carrying a massive scythe, it's blade longer and heavier than a man. One entire leg was a tree trunk, as was much of the armour that had formed its back and the arm not holding the scythe. Only its unarmoured head spoke of any remaining humanity.

The other figure was a total contrast. It wore the same style of armour...or perhaps it had been, before the plants had corrupted its compatriot. This one wore black and silver armour, its shoulder covered in black and yellow stripes. A vast robe covered much of its form, and a pair of huge servo arms could be seen on its back. It carried a terrible thunder hammer in one fist, and a massive plasma pistol on its waist. If it wasn't for the company, this could be mistaken as an astrates terminator.

The two are having an animated conversation. The thick glass prevents you from hearing what is being said, however. Equally, you cannot see an obvious access point.

Vasyl takes one look at the sight in front of him and reports back over the microbead.

Problem. I'll spell it out for the glory hounds.

"Huge. Fracking. Traitors. Bulkier armour than the last one we barely defeated and carrying heavy weapons. And one looks like their version of a tech-priest. A straight up fight? We'll die. Either we find a way to bring down the room around them - or we withdraw. Because suicide doesn't win battles. Look around for anything we can use to blow them up or crush them without entering that room."

Vasyl looks around urgently for just that. Plasma controls, flame dispensers, servitors, anything he can feasibly use.

The atmospheric processor is designed to pump clean, purified air into the important sections of the hive (and allow it to disperese the other, less essential sections later). Given the likely pressurised nature of the armour they're wearing, it's not clear what the huge pump could do them in the long run.

One of the tech-priests seemed to be doing something with the communications system before he fell. The console they are slumped over has a light flashing, suggesting it is receiving something.

Erkan takes in the corporal's words, the quizzical look from earlier once again spreading across his face. I offered my credentials in a moment of battle, and they now assume they serve me. This will have to be rectified...soon.

"While glorious battle is an honorable death in the eyes of the Emperor, blindly charging an insurmountably superior force would be folly, and fail to serve the Light of the Imperium in any way. My guess is their goal is to use the atmospheric processor to unleash their chaos-tainted infection through the ventilation of the hive, contaminating the entire city and all remaining citizens. I had hoped we could stabilize the system to protect the city, but protecting the hive might in fact require us to destroy this facility. Magos, can you determine what message lies within that console beside your fallen brethren? Perhaps it holds some clue for us."

Simply clicking the speakers on allowed the recieved message to go to the speakers. The vox signal was distorted, crackling, but two extremely deep voices could be hear. One held a gurgle, similar to that of the fallen marine, and the other a more mechanical component.

'This plan has cost more than intended, Warsmith. I hope that the information you have found is worth the price in my sons.

'I am grateful for the help you have given, Garderner. The mortals here have been surprisingly resiliant. The information was more than I thought, and has taken me a great step closer to my goals. Please, taken an extra dozen vials of the technovirus as payment, with my gratitude.'

'A dozen? A fair price, then. With that we can turn this world into a paradise, and perhaps the next.' A pause, and then, 'Where will you head next, then? Where does your quest take you?'

'A lost station. One I helped save, once, ironically.

It is possible. The facilities reactor has been brought up to far more than its usual output - the first warning of the treacherous attack - most likely in preparation to force the machinery to pump tainted air through the Hive, far beyond where one processor could reach.

By forcing the reactor to dump the entire load into the atmospheric processor, with the system in reverse and most of the outflows in reverse, the opposite would occur - a sudden, massive vacuum. While neither the loss of pressure or air would affect the Terminators, this facility was never built to handle it. A massive structural failure would occur, collapsing this section of the Hive, but not the whole.

The only question will be time. This is not a sanctified process. There is no way to know if you could escape the facility before it collapsed in on itself. But it will save the Hive and crush the traitors, if they fail to escape, and their armour was built for surviving a firefight, not fleeing.

Would it be a viable choice once you have beseeched the machine spirits to unleash their wrath in this manner to destroy this console with a krak grenade so they can no longer use it to try and coerce the machine spirits?"

Lothar turns to Erkan. "I am still injured from a previous battle as you have no doubt observed. I will laid down my life in service to the Imperium but I would be remiss if I were to do so foolishly. I would move back the way we came to clear out any more enemy forces if that is acceptable or recon in force other routes of egress."

Besieging the machine spirits takes a short time. This was against what they had been built to do, after all. But then, they hadn't been built to serve the infernal powers either, and after a few moments begin to cooperate.

The door the south reveals a long corridor with several rooms. The doors are open, revealing rooms empty of inhabitants, but not items. It would take some time to explore, however.

Two doors at the far South are also open, although given the massive thickness and heavy locking mechanisms it seems they only opened as part of the emergency evacuation. One seems to be some kind of store room.

The other contains what may have been the Traitor's scouts, or what's left of them. The facility Guards have taken a toll. What is left, however, is daunting. Four troops in something heavier than Flak armour, which looks more like chitin than man made armour, and what remains of a Sentinel walker. It looks like some rammed a krak grenade into its ankle, as its foot is mostly hanging off. The pilot light on its flamer is also spluttering alarmingly.

They troops are loading a small Imperial escape shuttle while chatting idly, apparently unrushed by the situation.

~~~~~~
In the command chamber the processor crackles alarmingly, making the terminators pause in there work. Pennants, flags and trophies on the traitors begin to flap alarmingly, and some are torn off the armour.
Map updated. I assume that, given the circumstances, Lothar isn't giving any of the rooms more than a cursorary glance, but feel free to take the time if you want. I hear implosions are very slimming.
Brother Erkan listens to each member of the would-be team, assessing their input for its worth. "I, like all of you, and but a humble servant of the most hallowed Emperor, and if by my life our death His will can be served, then so be it. In this moment, two things are clear: those fallen astartes have horrid plans for this world and beyond, and we do not have the arms to confront them directly. Bringing down the reactor will stop them, though whether it will be permanent I am less confident. And, it may give us the time to see this newfound information into the hands of those who can truly oppose these monstrosities. Brother Magos, it seems you have a plan. Let it be so."
As the system turns over toward overload and the red beacon lights turn on, Erkan smirks. "Brother Magos, it would seem your brethren laid a clear path for our departure. Clearly, their escape route would be reinforced to allow their safe departure. So let us make haste and utilize it." The missile launcher slams into the Sentinel with a horrific roar, tearing apart the cockpit with a thunderous detonation. Between the flurry of attacks, the remaining traitors fell in short (if messy) order.
Deep within the building a worrying, groaning sound rang throughout the building as a tremor ran through the facility too.
Vasyl switches weapons, grasping his new carnodon in both hands.
"Move it, people!" he says to the others as he begins to run forward.
Lothar moved forward as quickly as he could given his limp. He focused on his breathing mentally reciting the most suitable prayer he knew Guidance of the Divine Artillery Barrage on a nearby enemy formation... sometimes you could only hope the Emperor heard your prayer amongst all the others in a warzone.
The last of the traitor guard laid low by the storm of small arms fire, Erkan offers the briefest of prayers. "Those united in the purpose of the Emperor are blessed in his sight and shall live forever in his memory."
Finishing his prayer, Erkan Looks up to the others. "Get into the shuttle and someone get it fired up."
He then turns back, glancing down toward the command chamber before stepping into the hall, and then across into the stock room that had been behind him at the start of the firefight. As he scans the room, Erkan calls back over his shoulder, "Magos, is there anything we should recover from this place as we depart?"
Seeing Lothar’s limp, the arbite ran over and throw the man’s arm over his shoulder. ”I got you! Move!” he yelled as he helped bring the man aboard.
Thankfully the escape shuttle was a standard model, one designed to be used by someone with only the most basic of knowledge of the mysteries of the Omnissiah. Once the runes are activated the shuttle will seal automatically and fly a pre-set course to one of several sites that are still registering as 'safe.'
All that is required is to hit the button.
Vasyl speeds to the shuttle and swiftly checks it for any sabotage or other issues. Finding none, he hovers by the control runes with carnodon in one hand and the other on the panel next to the "GO" rune.
If one of those plant-riddled freaks tries to get in, I'm slamming this down.
Over the microbead, he urges the others on:
"Hurry it up! I can get us in the air, no problem, but we have to go!"
Assuming the group all make it inside, Vasyl presses the rune, guessing the exact force to depress it.
Heironymous followed his teammates, arriving just as they tore apart the last of the traitors. Perhaps these ones are more useful than I thought. He boards the shuttle and sits in the pilot seat, finalising the launch and jacking in to the shuttles system to gain control of it, checking its capabilities.
