"I have been puttin mah mind on tha rack tah identify tha man I saw with tha cross, in rememberin tha details o his age an clothes an such I still feel I should ave known him right off."
"Tha dark areas o my mind say tha man is no priest at all jus an assassin err imposter, a person lookin like a man I know."
Gunther places his hand on Cosimo's shoulder to add some additional relief to his worried concerns.
"Smaller shifts may work best. I will leave that decision to you. Make certain there are no problems and any important matters be brought to my attention immediately. Many thanks, my friend."
After spending so much of the day in reflection with not much to do Donnach's question jogs your memory. This man was the same one that recruited your cousin into a religious order when you were younger, the Knights Templar.
Takes the guards to buy pipeweed before returning to the hotel...
Once alone he confides in his friends;
"Good work Donnach, yer question has finally allowed mah mind tah place tha man, years agone he was at the table of my uncles house, recruitin mah cousin into tha Knight Templar. I am certain he is tha same man these years later, though at this moment his name eludes my grasp."
"He is a man who is slight in stature but very strong in presence. There is an air of danger whenever dealing with him despite his slight size. I have dealt with and dispatched many cut throats in my time but I would not challenge this man. What you choose to do is of course up to you. I have found that performing well reaps great benefits. Mind you I have never heard of anyone disappointing him but then he seems to only choose the best to work for him".
Gino grins widely, "Signora I will certainly schedule such a meeting for you. I hate to delay gratification (he says as he eyes your small form hungrily) but Signore Querini is out of the city for two weeks".
No but it cuts it REALLY close, it would give you about a day to locate him when he returns, and then bring him to Vicenzo for the meeting the next day. Plus your Ally wants to meet with him too.
You head down below decks to other areas of the ship and you find numerous brands of brigands playing all sorts of sundry gambling games. Do you wish to participate? Gambling is an optional skill, if you do not have it let me know and we can make up rolls for succes or failure.
Lorenzo Cappelli, The Volkov's & Michael Santo Prologue:
Playing the role of dutiful host, Lorenzo leads the group into the warehouse. "As you can see there is plenty of space available, doors are secure, and I am sure you have seen the number of guards we have here." he says as he casually walks in the direction of where the crate containing the religious relics was last seen.
Arriving at the area, Lorenzo tells any guards present, "Please step away for a bit. Our clients and I will be discussing business of a sensitive nature, you all know how my brother is about his clients' privacy."
Once the guards are away, Lorenzo speaks to the Volkovs and Michael in a hushed tone. "Alright. This is where I was brought to treat the man who turned to dust. The crate in question is just over there." he says gesturing to the crate.
"Good work Donnach, yer question has finally allowed mah mind tah place tha man, years agone he was at the table of my uncles house, recruitin mah cousin into tha Knight Templar. I am certain he is tha same man these years later, though at this moment his name eludes my grasp."
"Why mighten tha Doge be at odds wit tha vatican?"
"Maybe some issue o state a decree o some sort has become a problem."
I do not have the skill but just want to play a bit to pass some time. Not looking to bet big/win big. I assume I will probably lose but don't want to lose to much.
The Volkov's, Lorenzo Cappelli, and Michael Santo Prologue:
The guards oblige Lorenzo without question. The spot that Lorenzo points to on the floor is bare, if there were ashes there they are long gone.
Sergei you inspect the crate and you see that a portion of it was pulled back with an implement and then nailed shut. The crate has a lock on it and it is shut. Would you like to try and open it?
The Volkov's, Lorenzo Cappelli, and Michael Santo Prologue:
I would have to see what Lorenzo thinks.
"I assume we cannot just bust this open? More importantly than getting into this, we need to find out who it belongs to. I wonder if we can get either Brice or Wilhelm onto the guard team. Or perhaps Francois, your brother never met him....."
Michael looks around and ponders a bit. "You said you treated the guy here who vaporize here" Michael points to the location in question? "why of all places would you treat someone here?, who summoned you here if you don't mind my asking and where were the guards while this was going down?"
The Volkovs, Lorenzo Cappelli, and Michael Santo Prologue:
"I am afraid that further discoveries have been few and far between."
Seeing Sergei inspect the crate in question, "You are welcome to try and open the crate, but please try and discrete and open it where it had been opened before."
Turning his attention back to Michael, "Yes, he turned to dust here. Apparently he was poking around where he should not have been when one of the guards happened up on him. It was after one of our night watchmen disabled the man, that he came to get me to attend to the man's wounds in hopes that the wound was not fatal."
You don't have the proper tools to open the crate as I don't believe you have Larceny. Prying it open may be am issue. Lorenzo should be able to determine who owns the crate.
Xing Shi, Gunther, and Andrew, I have you all on pause until the rest of the group finishes their scene. I don.t want too much of a time lag between the groups.
The Volkov's, Michael Santo, and Lorenzo Cappelli Prologue:
Sergei you find a crowbar after a few minutes of searching and easily pull out the nails from the sloppy fix job done on the corner of the crate. After so much anticipation you are thoroughly disappointed to find nothing. Sergei make a Perception+Awareness check Diff if 7
Yes you do know him quite well, refer to the first page in this thread, it explains your relationship. In fact it may have been your service which brought these goods to this warehouse.
I reread the post about my connection with Michele I will continue to not know about this character so I don't incriminate myself with the smuggling of these goods
I would like to stick around to see what results in our investigation. When we are done I will like to contact Michele to see what info I can obatin about this create. I am inclined to discuss this with the volkovs but I don't want to be acused of unleashing oblivion on the folk of Venice.
Michael + Lorenzo + volkovs:
"It seems like you've had previous run ins with this man favorable I hope. Would you know where to start looking?
Based on what Wilhelm said, this Michele Querini is out of the city somewhere so finding him tonight will not be possible unless of course Wilhelm was given false information.
Sergei scowls "I was told he was out of the city at the moment, so tonight would not be an option. Have any of you had any dealings with Mr. Querini or know of someone that would be able to find him? We need to figure out a way to find him once he gets back.."
