Waning Hours of the Night
Onfroi
You and your Sire head out and are able to step onto a Gondola with the Toreador Rafael and his Childe Bassanio.
Rafael nods to you both, "It seems your Clansman is a devout follower of God, a noble position but one which can create a level of dangerous fanaticism. What is your position on the matter Petradon?"
Petradon nods, "My rival has show his true beliefs. While I do not support such vulgar displays of mortal suffering I would not force my beliefs upon others, after all are we not our own masters, do we need a council dictating to us what we should do or believe?"
"Certainly not, certainly not", Rafael agrees.
Once the four of you land on the far side from the Elysium Petradon regards Rafael, "We may well see many things eye to eye de Corazon, an alliance between us would be most prudent".
Rafael smiles, "I shall consider it". That said he and is Childe take their leave.
Petradon turns to you Onfroi, "You have done well this night my Childe. The Salubri overstepped their bounds and likely overplayed their hands. That one should be thankful none of his kin are here to rival him for his position. You stood for the defense of the Traditions, that will raise the awareness of you and I in the eyes of the other Clan Elders. Simon has shown misplaced loyalty. This throne will be ours to take.
Tomorrow eve we shall officially announce your existence and then together we shall gather the votes necessary to ensure our position on this Council. Whoever was behind those cheap tricks no doubt Narses will uncover and punish before long".

Dunstan
You exit the Elysium walking with your Sire as well as the Toreador Helene, her Childe nowhere in sight.
When you reach the Gondola her Childe is already on board looking flustered. She shakes her head at him and does not speak to him.
Lady Meridie speaks to her, "Helene, the Childe of Francois Villon is very well spoken. The Childe of Rafael is intelligent but still a fop. Despite that fact, Rafael's message is one that is well received by the Elders of other Clans. You are without doubt he favorite to win this position but you should seek to cultivate the Low Clans if you wish to ensure your victory".
Helene smirks, "Low Clans? I have already collected the votes of most of the Elders of the High Clans this very night. Victory is already assured, you my dear should cultivate the Low Clans, even my influence cannot assure you a victory against a luminary such as Criatas. Even Dark Selina has some admirers".
Meridie smiles sweetly, "That is excellent news Lady Helene, I shall double my efforts with the Low Clans to ensure my victory".
The Gondola lands on the far side of the lagoon from Elysium. They exchange small talk and you are alone with your Sire, "She is correct on one thing, we must secure the votes of all the Low Clans, tell me, how did your meeting with the Ventrue Alyssa and the Assamite go my Childe?"

The Mausoleum of the Giovanni - Lorenzo
As the hour grows late Lord Benne finally arrives. He heads up the stairs to greet you and Yeti seated quietly in the study reading the books the Giovanni did not take with them.
"Greetings Dr. Cappelli. Yeti. The first long night of that Conclave was over, a fascinating end to say the least.
It seems that God has spoken to Prince Narses and commanded him to repent his evil ways". He chuckles.
"Yet another Fledgling called out trickery as being behind the ruse. Still, Andrew the Hardy showed that he wielded a blade with powers that resisted even Narses formidable powers of darkness. The one suspect I would have considered to be behind the ruse, Durga Syn was not present, quite curious... No matter, Lorenzo, Yeti, have you anything to inform me before I retire to my chambers for the day?"

She considers fleeing. But suddenly another inner voice, one other than the fear, begins to speak. One akin to...lust?
Power. The creatures of the night are powerful.

Gulping down the entire glass of wine she wipes her mouth unlady like, and waits.
Haha, seriously torn. Would she run? Not sure...

Back at the La Serenata Notturna - Ranerius
Francois smiles at your lengthy description of the evening as it unfolded.
"Lanzo of the Ventrue will be voting for Helene. I will meet with him anyway in case he wins, I do not wish to brush him off if we are to work together.
Lord Benne, from what I am told, is one of the foremost intellectual of his Clan, which is saying something. No doubt there will be great synergies between his Clan and ours if we can merge their interests in death with our own in art. More importantly, he is a critical figure to have on our side, openly on our side that is. A vote of confidence from one such as he may sway others into believing that we can defeat Helene, that perception will be extremely important.
Make no mistake, Helene is the one the Elders believe will win but we must also not forget about Rafael. He is one of the most eloquent speakers here despite his abrasiveness.
Agreed, Lady Meridie is our candidate, my own Sire would be irate if the Childe of her hated foe is elected to such a powerful position in the hierarchy of this new Cainite order. Dark Selina is a lunatic and cannot be supported for she will use her power to prosecute her own ancient vendettas".
He pauses, "I am no Furore but I do feel a kinship to them. Leeland is a natural born leader and would make an excellent counselor but he cannot possibly win and it is political suicide to even appear to be supportive of his bid. Meridie is the next best choice. I will meet with her in private away from the Elysium to convince her to vote for us in exchange for voting for her.
Your role in this will be to create friction with her Childe. If you two are seen as rivals or enemies it will convince others that she will vote for anyone but me. Then, we will begin to work on our vocal support for Dark Selina acquiring her vote as well.
Your next task will be to acquire the support of the Salubri. After the events of tonight, many will shy away from him, we shall not as his vote counts as much as any other. Then you may seek out Alyssa of Clan Ventrue, she will be the most likely Ventrue to support us”.
He sighs, ”What I tell you next you will of course keep to yourself. We have won the Nosferatu Petradon to our side by offering one of our Ghouls, Onfroi, to be his Childe. As we already have him, it would be prudent to leverage the relationship with the Salubri to obtain the vote of Simon, the other religious fanatic. This we will wait for the next series of nights to play out.
Violetta has been unsuccessful in her assignment to find the killer who has been defying Narses will. Frustrating to say the least. I am hoping that tomorrow night she may have more luck. Have you any further questions for me before we are abed for the night?”

Alyssa regards them both with a neutral tone, "Why have you decided to share these secrets with me, now?"
Sadir smiles, "Your brood mate was a ally of ours, a member of our Coterie. We would have you and your Childe replace him".
"You kept this knowledge hidden from our line for more than a century, why should I trust you now?"
"Come Caias, tell her the rest of the story that she may understand", states Talisman.
Sadir glares at Talisman then continues, "As the fires burned themselves out and the smoke cleared, many of the Cainite luminaries had either fled or were slain by the Crusaders and the Kindred who traveled with them.
We knew that we carried the key to allowing the city to recover from this nightmare but we were not the only ones vying for control of the city after all. There were plenty of Cainites who had been planning or hoping for the fall of the Triumverate and they were in a much better position to take advantage of the resulting power structure in the vacuum left behind.
Our plan required carefully balancing the rivals at the time against one another until of course, my friend here revealed what he had done. That was the beginning of the end for us for we did not know that there were forces that had set this entire plan into motion to ensure that Michael died and with Michael still residing in Sebastian's body, the job was not complete..."

Back at the La Serenata Notturna - Ranerius
Now back at his haven, Ranerius takes the stance of one at full comfort being at the center of his own personal universe. He sees down the halls his beloved wife Zuana shooting him a heated glance. Ever since becoming a ghoul, she had broken free of her shyness and truly shined as a confident powerful woman. Odd that chaining her would free her so.
he motions he will join her later, and makes sure he and his sire have the privacy they need as they continue their conversation.
"Lanzo of the Ventrue will be voting for Helene. I will meet with him anyway in case he wins, I do not wish to brush him off if we are to work together.
Ranerius nods, finding his sire's words prudent, and reassuring besides. If his sire were in this just for ego's sake, he'd not bother.
"Agreed on all points, and I hope you can sway him fully, my lord." I am still mortal enough to want the respect of those I respect in return, and that means Lord Benne.
Make no mistake, Helene is the one the Elders believe will win but we must also not forget about Rafael. He is one of the most eloquent speakers here despite his abrasiveness.
"Perhaps I have underestimated him," Ranerious admits a bit sheepishly, "How best to counter him then, sire? He has pride aplenty, perhaps he could be pushed to a public display of wrath by some song or poem about a past folly?"
Signore Bernerius does not hide his pleasure at this either, "I believe she is a good leader... if we can win her to your vote, it will be wonderful, but I'd still like her voice on the council regardless given what you say of the others."
Your role in this will be to create friction with her Childe. If you two are seen as rivals or enemies it will convince others that she will vote for anyone but me. Then, we will begin to work on our vocal support for Dark Selina acquiring her vote as well.
"This..." Ranerious looks worried, "Will not be easy, sire. I got along well with Dunstan earlier, or so I thought, and others witnessed it. A sudden turn around may ring false, and on top of that, making an enemy of the man seems unwise. Perhaps if I were to be upfront with him and ask him to join in such a ruse? I do not claim the man is any thespian, but it has no more chance of being found out than a sudden rift over nothing he's unaware of, and might also allow stronger alliances in the long run." The Toreador hopes he hasn't angered Francois, but he feels he would be remiss if he wasn't honest about his doubts.
Your next task will be to acquire the support of the Salubri. After the events of tonight, many will shy away from him, we shall not as his vote counts as much as any other. Then you may seek out Alyssa of Clan Ventrue, she will be the most likely Ventrue to support us”.
Ranerious nods, "I have some sympathy with the Salubri complaints, even if I am not entirely sure of their actions. Playing two nosferatu against each other sounds difficult, given how they are known as master spies. I hope Peterdon makes good on his agreement. The problem with being owed a secret debt is one cannot bring it to light to collect."
Violetta has been unsuccessful in her assignment to find the killer who has been defying Narses will. Frustrating to say the least. I am hoping that tomorrow night she may have more luck. Have you any further questions for me before we are abed for the night?”
"I know little of the killer and that situation, and I respect that Violetta as my elder and with far more power than I has been entrusted to handle it. Still, if you wish to fill me in, please do. If I can get a description of the killer, perhaps I can find out through word in the guard or something. A gamble to be sure, but if it pays off it might aid her." He ponders, "I notice we make no mention of the clans from further afield. The Gangrel, who travel, the Followers of Set who none seem to trust, and the Assamites who are feared. yet like the Salubri, their votes will matter. Shouldn't we pursue them to? Assuming we have time?"

Second, I have accepted that Mortals are beneath the notice of Cainites. I Feed from them only when necessary.
Third, I Lose no opportunity to obtain Cainite blood of any Generation. The power of the Blood shall ensure our victory against the enemies of Haqim victory.
Fourth, I Withstand the Beast’s fury — failing to master oneself results in lessened prowess.
