There are no rules on how long it should take to learn a Discipline. Therefore I think I will create a simple system for this. Will work on it I/C with Lorenzo and finalize it when I have some time.
That has always been one of the things that gets me the problem with it to me has always been the variety of different disciplines out there to learn.
Other questions considerations
1. clan and non-clan
2. Physical, mental, spiritual, other
3. How the power manifests
4. How the power is triggered, burn blood/reciting spells/etc
5. Self taught or instructed
6. Is the discipline to be learned related to the one(s) you already know
7. If you can be instructed in the basics in X amount of time, what Y amount of time has to pass before you can use the discipline?
As an example a young progeny sees his Sire perform Discipline A, and instructs the youngling in the discipline for 30 days. Unfortunately the Sire meets his final death, did the youngling learn enough to finally develop the power or is it lost.
The next question is advancing in a discipline from say one dot to two, do you need an instructor or is a spontaneous?

Alessandro would your friend be interested? I know that last time we had corresponded he was luke warm interested.

I have some home players who are not familiar with the online pbp aspect of the game but are excellent players whom I could ask as well if your first choices are not available
Hey Onfroi, sure poll them and see if anyone is interested in Clan Gangrel.
Storyteller Shadow |
I had someone express interest here on the boards hold off for now Lorenzo, let's see if this new one works out. I will keep him in mind if anyone else drops though! Thanks!

Sorry for my long absence I was moving homes.

I have not asked for this yet, but those who have interacted with me at some point I have to ask how you find my character to be....
Examples:
I find Xing to be mysterious and seductive, streetwise, and jaded though not particularly evil......
I find Onfroi to be in a lot of ways a kindred spirit as Andrew is more of an introvert with extroversion a task that takes energy out of him.....
I find Ranerius to be an interesting character in a lot of ways the idea of nobility embraced in a cultured setting, unlike Andrew a minor noble of a war effected country....
I find Lorenzo to be a somewhat secretive man who uses his calling as a physician to be analytical (though very hipocritical for Andrew to say so).....
I feel like I have not gotten to interact with Michele Querini, Michael Santo and others enough to form any lasting impressions on Andrew........
Onfroi |
Onfroi having seen two hundred years as a mortal along with the first crusade acts like a bon vivant or someone who passes the time with fun but is indeed highly an introvert, the only thing igniting him now is competition. For all of that, Onfroi sees much as simply transient, but sees the home or castle or ones place of residence as resolute or something not to be defiled because it is the only place one is safe to be oneself.
Seeing Andrew challenging the Prince in his home made Onfroi upset with Andrew as Onfroi saw that as rude, and otherwise Onfroi wants to learn more about this new unlife to be a better competitor and sees Andrew as a serious fellow with perhaps a holy light saber lol

Greetings.
I will be filling in the vacancy for a Gangrel character. I am inexperienced in this rpg set, but am eager to join in as I heard nothing but great things.
Hopefully the game will meet the great grading it has warranted moving forward as well! :-) Feel free to poke around in the Campaign Info tab a lot of rules for the game in there.
And your first post is up! :-)
Storyteller Shadow |
I think, I'm don with my scene, since the Assamite player is MIA still I believe.
Indeed, I will move you along I was thinking about doing that earlier today :-)
Storyteller Shadow |
I should have mentioned before, but was at a conference... Las Vegas. First time, I didn't gamble!
Also, I should start toting a laptop again so posting should be easier.
Sorry folks! Catching up this weekend.
Taxes due, as well.
I am a little upset that it took a roll to remember what happened in game only a 3 short years and 5,000 posts ago. :-)
Storyteller Shadow |
Just an FYI, I will be busy all weekend into Monday. My last post will be tomorrow at some point and then I will be back to posting on Monday evening.
That should give some of my wayward Cainites a chance to catch up in their scenes...

** spoiler omitted **
I will be updating your scene today, baby problems last night forced me to cut my updates short.
Storyteller Shadow |
Page turned gents, updates on the prior page 146 I/C :-)
As you can all see, you begin to gather at the gates of Elysium together.
Storyteller Shadow |
I will try to update the thread tomorrow before I run my table top D&D game If not I will do the updates later in the evening.

Holy smokes as close to a methuselah Alexander yikes. Best spy night ever now I just need to find a way to sneak in ince everyone goes in.
In canon he is dead but as you can see from the presence of Salubri I an changing canon. :-)
When I first started running this as table top back in 2005 and Radek the Tremere was a PC, Alexander once ripped off both of Radek's arms for insolence, fun times!
Storyteller Shadow |
I like the changes and I know canon inside and out. Its excellent to have Alexander here. I changed his name to Vespus and he moved to a room in New York.
I ran Vamp close to canon once already so now I'm switching it up. Obviously what is taking place here never happened either!

How do you know?
Perhaps it did, just one of the many other secrets of history that only the elders know and some weren't even old enough to know.
Touche'!!!

But for the fact that Narses was dead in canon by this century :-)
