I am just hanging in here - RL is a total mess. I am playing for the playing's sake, so would not mind to end it here and wrap it up.

Lantern Lodge

Yep, lets head on. You guys will have dropped the bad guy off. The next portion is sandbox style so it's totally up to you to find the missions. I will include info on the campaign tab.

I will wait till you guys go in character to drop of Iarno to continue.

NPC Sahil for the Moment - on Holidays with rare Internet Access.

Yeah, it does look like it died down. Only 3 of us active within the past week. With that, it would be hard to run with only three of us. It was fun. You might as well end the game now.

Barbarian/3; HP: 38/38; AC: 15; Perception: +2; Rage 3/3 per Day, 10/10 Rounds; HD 3/3; Inspiration 1/1

Hey...let's not jump the gun, Jelly.

Sorry guys I've been very stressed lately and my post rate has dropped significantly. Things might be on the up for me now, though I think that at at least once a week and then some more s&+% hits the fan...

Lantern Lodge

Easy there Jelly Gelly, I am the DM, I'll call it when the game is over. As for now it's still on.

@Drakr, no worries take the time you need, I'll NPC you as needed.

male Human; DCI #9100704319 Fighter 3 | HP 31/31 | AC 16 | Passive Per 13 | Init +3 |

RL stays as it is, no improvement. And with two parts finished a good time to drop out for me. Sorry about this, but need to sort my life first.

shall we continue with 3, or will we get our butts kicked? More replacements would be nice.

Lantern Lodge

1 person marked this as a favorite.
Male

3 is still a legal table, I say we press onwards

AC: 18 | HP: 19/19 | Init: -1 | Perc: +3 (PP: 13) | HD: 2/2d8 | Spell Slots: 1st: 3/3 | Inspiration: [_] | Saves: S: +2, D: -1, Co: +2, I: +1, W: +5, Ch: +2 | War Preist: 3/3 | Channel Divinity: 1/1

Wow after 1d4 hours a stable creature gains 1hp the only other way to give them Hp is a spell or a potion. I don't think we could wait 2-5 hours here without notice. Really an hour is pushing it. That was a tough battle. Fun though. A good challenge. Thanks DaWay :)

Barbarian/3; HP: 38/38; AC: 15; Perception: +2; Rage 3/3 per Day, 10/10 Rounds; HD 3/3; Inspiration 1/1

We can take a short rest and roll one HD of recovery.

Lantern Lodge

Male

yeah, there were quite a few close calls there, especially with the nasty crit from the hobgoblin.

Lantern Lodge

Male

During your short rest, Sahil will quietly slip away.

AC: 18 | HP: 19/19 | Init: -1 | Perc: +3 (PP: 13) | HD: 2/2d8 | Spell Slots: 1st: 3/3 | Inspiration: [_] | Saves: S: +2, D: -1, Co: +2, I: +1, W: +5, Ch: +2 | War Preist: 3/3 | Channel Divinity: 1/1

So at the end of a long rest you regain up to half your total hit dice (minimum one) so at level three we'd still only get one back... Today is going to be a hard day.

Lantern Lodge

Male

Yes, you are correct.

Barbarian/3; HP: 38/38; AC: 15; Perception: +2; Rage 3/3 per Day, 10/10 Rounds; HD 3/3; Inspiration 1/1

I am not sure that is as accurate. I thought you recovered all HP after a full night's rest.

AC: 18 | HP: 19/19 | Init: -1 | Perc: +3 (PP: 13) | HD: 2/2d8 | Spell Slots: 1st: 3/3 | Inspiration: [_] | Saves: S: +2, D: -1, Co: +2, I: +1, W: +5, Ch: +2 | War Preist: 3/3 | Channel Divinity: 1/1

Yeah all HP, but you only regain half your total hit dice back to use in short rests. So because I used all of mine yesterday I only get 1 to use today.

Lantern Lodge

Male

Drakr is right, Full HP, half hit die recovered.

Barbarian/3; HP: 38/38; AC: 15; Perception: +2; Rage 3/3 per Day, 10/10 Rounds; HD 3/3; Inspiration 1/1

I see...I only used 1 of 3. So, I am full and good to go.

AC: 18 | HP: 19/19 | Init: -1 | Perc: +3 (PP: 13) | HD: 2/2d8 | Spell Slots: 1st: 3/3 | Inspiration: [_] | Saves: S: +2, D: -1, Co: +2, I: +1, W: +5, Ch: +2 | War Preist: 3/3 | Channel Divinity: 1/1

Wow the dice really have it in for us this combat. : /

Lantern Lodge

Male

yeah, sorry it's the boss fight that you fell into. This was solely based on the position you climbed up/roof you feel through.

You guys are really close to getting a partial victory.

Just a question for clarification. It is not an intelligent creature, I don't think it is, but I tend to analyze how things would go down in real life, and why I think so hard about it, so excuse me for asking, and I'm asking because I tend to think sometimes in real life terms, thus I apply real life to D&D world sometimes. Okay, so I fired the crossbow, and it probably does not know the crossbow is a weapon, and I kept a distance. Then you rolled init. There is a chance it could have beaten me in init roll. Now, if it is not intelligent enough to know that a crossbow is a weapon, logic tells me it cannot react until after the crossbow has been fired. Now a round is six seconds. There is a chance it could have had init of 21 and me an init of 2. Wouldn't I automatically be before it even if I had a lower init, whether it would be surprise or an just a natural 20 on init. Logic tells me that if I would have had init of 2 and it would have had 21 it would have reacted before I fired my crossbow within the first second and I would have finally fired my crossbow at second 5.5, because it takes about a half a second for the bolt to reach its target. Now if it is an intelligent creature I understand, but I just want to make logical sense of it all, because I'm analytical like that.

That question is how could it react before it knows it is under attack? There was a chance it could have reacted five seconds before I fired my crossbow, if it got lucky on init and I got unlucky. as I did not approach it, I fired from a distance. And it would not know it is under attack until I fire the crossbow, unless it is intelligent.

Lantern Lodge

Male

You went before it in initiative, you fired your crossbow. Your shot missed. A miss isn't always a wide shot sometimes it is that it can't pierce the hide/armor of a creature. It did not react before you, you failed to beat its armor class. You don't know this but its move was to move for the door to escape but you wanted the fight and attacked it.

What you are asking for is absurd. I am not giving you a surprise round every time you win initiative, it's merely who goes first.

A creature in captivity, by goblins and bugbears definately knows when it is being attacked. As far as intelligence goes, you do not know.

FeMale Human Gungsliner 3: spd:25, Perc:9, AC:20, HP:32/32, Fort:7, Ref:11, Will:9

I think you misunderstood, I was merely analyzing. I was just thinking of the what if scenario? I don't want a surprise round every time I win init, that would make the game too easy, and not how the game works.

Anyway, it does make sense to me now, with the captivity part. Not to mention my friend who is a hunter did explain to me. He said I'm obviously not a hunter. Deer recognize guns, before you even fire them, which means it could easily recognize the crossbow.

And yeah, I did want to fight it, it is described as a monster.

Apologies for yesterday guys, I worked an unexpected 12 hour day...
