DaWay's Legacy of Fire - Howl of the Carrion King
Game Master
DaWay
Having been hired by Garavel for the Merchant Princess Almahn you have reclaimed an Old Monastery to Sarenrae now you must launch the plan to reclaim Kelmarane as your contract details.
Moments after you step onto stage, a figure seated in a balcony above, a 7 foot tall armored bald human man armed with an enormous greataxe speaks down to you with a booming voice that echoes throughout the entire structure
I am Kardswann, Mouth of the Carrion King, Chieftan of the Kulldis Tribe and master of this village. Tell me, what business brings you to Kelmarane?
Tolus can't help but think this human chief would make a wonderfully versatile slave. Able to do hard labor, announce entrenches with grandeur, even make an excellent guard if he were castrated. A fine specimen indeed.
Kara halts her dance as the booming voice brings her back to the present. She stands upright, looking confidently up in that direction. "I'm here on my own business. Wanderlust keeps me moving, and I find it's easier to stay unseen and out of trouble when I travel alone. This is a marketplace, is it not? I've come to see what wares are available."
And how does one stay unseen when you are traveling with slaves of deadly blades and armored dwarves. No I think you are lying to me, bend. The Kardeswann announces.
"The noisy camp to the south? What makes you think I'm with them? I assure you I traveled here through the mountains, from the west. Tell me, is it customary to interrogate all your customers like this? Are you going to allow me to browse the wares, or am I consigned to talk to you all day?"
Tolus appears as from thin air, knowing that it was unlikely that any of the guards had spotted him. He glides up beside and a little behind Kara, the proper place of a Guard slave. He exudes enslaved deference toward Kara. He was not acting per say. He was simply behaving as if Kara were his Mistress, and his display was one honed over four decades of service.
He bows slightly, hand on his sheathed rapier at his hip, and whispers just loud enough for the Cheiftain to hear, Permission to speak, my Lady
He hoped Kara would recognize his support of her ploy, putting her up as a traveling trader, and play along with what Kardswann obviously expected. He also hoped to the stars that those less knowledgeable in the decorum of slavery would catch on and not blow their fragile cover.
Tolus straightens and addresses the Kadswann with a gracefully deferrential confidence, Great Kardswann, may I present Kara, skilled dancer and trader. My name is Tolus, and I have had the honor to be bound to my Lady through many trials. I am certain my Lady intended no disrespect to the Lord of this Market.
We have been traveling for many days now and have come through heat and hill to stand before you. This humble slave, my mistress, and my compatriot guards crave your custom and wares.
Now, if you permit us, we will trade and move on with our business, for we do not wish to impose on your Greatness overmuch.
Oh, and Tolus's Gnoll is ordered to stay back and out of sight unless sounds of battle are heard. It wouldn't do for Those to be spotted
Also, I love not lying via half-truths. :)
As long as your thirsty steel stays at your side, mistress, you and your company are welcome to trade here. Three are many sorts of wares and services to be offered. Please enjoy the hospitality of Kelmarane's battle market

"Like the hospitality that you showed those men your 'guards' killed?"
Khatijah moved up to the platform. Her eyes shimmered with fire, and her jaw is clenched in fury.
"If you value your skin, you'd be wise to leave."
In a flash of steel, Tempest and a dagger are in the young woman's hands. Her eyes stay focused on the man on the balcony, daring him to come down and face her.
Eh, Khat's more of a hands-on diplomacy person anyway.
“Enough!” Kardswann yells. “I tire of your disruption. It is time that this battle stage be put to use.” The chieftain raises both arms into the air. “Honored guests,” he roars. “I offer you 500 pieces of gold for each of the strangers’ corpses!”
You see everyone in the building heading for the stage except Kardswann who leaves his balcony. The first to reach the stage is a massive male ogre with a retinue of three bugbears.
Because this is a massive fight that all of the combatants don't reach the stage till at least round 10. I am going to use your gnolls in the background.

Tolus lapses into Vishkanya for a moment, obviously cursing, สาปแช่งคุณไปยังนักมวยนรกหลุมปลูกฝังความเชื่อ! "
He then turns and tells/asks Kara, Get me some openings! and charges one of the bugbear groupies. Read: please flank with the rogue?

Fionn claps her hands in glee at the sight of the fire bursting out of the ogre... then moves forward to get in range of her spells/abilities...
I figure she was far enough back it will probably take a double move for her to get close enough to do anything useful
Kara, startled by the interruption, turns and glares at Khat. I had this under control... Nodding at Tolus, she somersaults towards the bugbears, trying to flank with him.
Khat moves in on the ogre her blade missing by a hairs width.
Tolus charges poking a hole through one of the bugbears (6 damage)
Malak unleashes his elemental fury 2d20 ⇒ (6, 1) = 7 modifiers withheld.

Taldor moves
Kara moves with grace
Tolus can't dodge quite fast enough, and takes a cut across the sounder from the attacking Bugbear. He grits his teeth and returns the attack, taking advantage of Kara's agile maneuver to strike a more sensitive area.

Khat grunts as she feels the blow through the chain and padding protecting her. She's hurt, but she doesn't show it. Instead, she rips into one of the bugbears with all of the ferocity of a wolverine.
With a dazzling display or arcane force and steely mastery you finish off the remainder of the bugbears. You are granted a one round reprieve before a group of gnolls arrive.

Khatijah pulls a dagger from the sash at her waist. She tests the balance, and hopes that she can hit something with it. When the gnolls are just bare feet away, her arm snaps forward, hurtling the dagger into the crowd of gnolls before gripping Tempest with both hands once more.
