Hey guys, I'm heading out of town to a place that doesn't have internet so I'll be gone for a few days. Feel free to DMPC me if you need to, much cheers and have fun gaming!

Woot! My youngest just managed to almost print his name today. A good day for firsts.
On a side note, I know what you mean. My PbP group has managed insane luck on the attacks front in several of their encounters. Including a bard fascinating a bear so they could wander off, a cavalier one shotting a bandit leader, instantly breaking the morale of the other bandits, etc. etc. etc....
Well in one of my other PbP I've been trying to go for a new record in lousy rolls so I'm glad we're doing ok here. I honestly had 3 natural 1's in a row. I went back and did all the calculations to make sure I wasn't just imagining things - it's been a pretty large drawn-out battle and since it started, here are my statistics:
Mean (average): 7.19
Median: 6
Mode: 1
Even if you go back to every roll I've ever made with that character in the campaign, the mode is STILL one. Yep, I've rolled more 1's than any other number, period. Ugh.
Sorry for being delinquent. For some reason the site stopped updating my campaign summary page thing and I only just checked the thread itself. My bad.

cool. I have a BA in Archaeology and an MA in Cinema History. I'd like to go back to get an MA in LIbrary Science, but I'm so busy already and it's so much more expensive now than it was when I first went to college 40 years ago. (yes I'm THAT old)
B.S. in Signed Language Interpretation here. Might go back for a Deaf Ed. degree. Depends if my job description changes to require it. I currently interpret Amerinan Sign Language in high school. :)
How fun! I worked as a Spanish Medical Interpreter for awhile and would volunteer from time to time at local schools for parent-teacher conferences. Very rewarding.
Strangely enough, I was an English Major in college and now work in IT. Go figure.

get well soon - it seems we share a similar history, daway since I got my BA in anthro/archaeo. Where did you go to school? I got my degrees at CSULB (BA) and USC (MA)
Well good news is I am now employed again. Bad news is it is only a one month job, back in construction, finishing a basement. 4 years Marine Corps, 6 years as a rancher/construction, 2 years IT for a telemarketing firm, then 8 more years in construction while in school to earn a stack of degrees and now I am back to where I started! Yay economy!

congrats! that's great that you're working, but I guess it also kinda sucks that you have to work at construction instead of what you spent all those years in school for, but any port in a storm, right?
Yep. Just feel a little awkward to be going back to work the same job with the same guys I have been talking about school to for a half dozen years. Also feel a little bad racking up 200k in student debt to be doing the job I didn't need to go to school for.... Just odd is all.
Hey don't feel bad I worked as a Surveyor, the Firefighter, got hurt, now back to surveying why I try and get on Police/Park Ranger. Thinking about going to get a personal training cert.

Yeah, archaeology isn't an easy field to make a living in. It's actually easier in California with all the impact report laws on new construction. But still, I can feel your pain - I worked for the IRS as a field collection agent and worked part time on the weekend as an archaeologist to supplement my income.
Now I am an underpaid textile artist. Funny how life's twists and turns get to you, eh?
