DaWay's Legacy of Fire - Howl of the Carrion King

Having been hired by Garavel for the Merchant Princess Almahn you have reclaimed an Old Monastery to Sarenrae now you must launch the plan to reclaim Kelmarane as your contract details.

i'm pretty sure nobody requires the '8 hours of sleep/quiet' like a wizard, so watch should be pretty easy. lol i love elven wizards, they have to stay up for the final 4 hours but they just sit there
I have been noticing something, and just a small note on the topic...
Perception DC 25:
The DC of overhearing a whisper is 15, not 25, unless the one you are avoiding being overheard by is asleep, 100 feet away, on the other side of a 1 foot thick wall, or behind a door, with unfavorable conditions. It takes a LOT to get an additional +10 to the base 15 DC. . . . Overall, it doesn't really matter to me as Arizhel is polite enough not to eavesdrop, however; using the message cantrip will get you the DC 25 result you seek, supposing you have that cantrip.
I point this out becaue it is not too hard to overhear a 15 (Zerika, my Eidolon, can overhear a 15 without rolling for instance ). . . especially when the whisper is in front of an important NPC . . .You may not be as secure in such secrets as you think is all I am sayin'.
Oh.. and don't roll the DC perception, just read the spoiler!

Oh, whoops. My bad.
What I get for assuming a I know it off the top of my head. Anyway, it's not that big of a deal since it is within character, and it's not that Detrimental to the group if the NPC's overhear. Now if Tolus takes offense at being second guessed we might have a problem...
Figure BBEG has wis of 14, class skill, 2 ranks... you are now at 2+3+2=7 This means they have to roll an 8+, 40% chance failure, 60% chance success.
Real life people know things like, "don't whisper about the guy behind you in church... he can hear you... " I am just trying to point out how unlikely it is that a whispered secret will remain, well, secret. Even in camp, through a tent wall, with the listener 100 feet away, there is good chance you will be overheard.

Tolus would be less offended and more confused. He would never think to mistrust someone in his Master's complete confidence. The Lady did infer that everyone was a suspect, but again, Toous would immediately strike anyone in Garavel's confidence from the list. Betraying your Master's confidence is unthinkable to him.

no problem... busy days happen. I think we've all been there, done that. Look forward to your post(s).

Sorry. I got run over with an allergy truck. I was starting to doubt it was "just" allergies, but the psuedoephedrine I took this morning handled the symptoms FAR too well for it to have been anything else. I could ALMOST function at work, today.
I am still keeping up on the posts at least daily, but I no longer have an eidolon hiding in the shadows near you, so I no longer have a way to relay/participate in the conversations held away from the tents. So I remain silent, but I am here...

yeah, i've never heard of them before either... well I guess we'll find out soon enough what they are/do.
I'll just say that there are a fair share of deaths in the Legacy of Fire Obituaries thread related to this portion of the campaign. And since I've started Legacy of Fire before (several years ago now when it first came out) I've lived through it.
okay so confession, I am not so good with maps. havent figured out how to upload stuff in maptools or anything. Does anyone have an experience with this or should I just get your email and send you photos of the map with a counter on it to represent you?

my husband is a whiz with maptools. he does all his maps in campaign cartographer then uploads to maptools, but i have no idea how he does it, sorry. so... that said, i guess any method works for me - in pbp i've seen simple x-y graph maps in google docs that have worked fine, so arizhel's suggestion would work for me. if not for you then - then go ahead with the email method, that works too.
Arizhel is a not terribly excited to leave the tent and find you by herself. If either Zerika or Khatijah go with her to join you, I am heading with them (even less keen to stay here alone). I am not running out into the desert on my own however. I will leave Zerika arrival back at the tent to DaWay.
Zerika will be there protecting Delphina. btw in the story as written, the fortune teller dies. I decided to reward you with an extra NPC because of Mas'ud actions. So now I am working on creating her...I think you all will be happy with what I've come up with.
On another note...I have a long time friend who wants to join, since we had one drop earlier would anyone have problems with him joining. I have known him for over 10 years now and he just like me, is an adult raising children just trying to find time to enjoy the hobby. I have recommended either ranged support or full arcane to help out.

Hi everyone! I am the aforementioned friend and it is a pleasure to meet you all. I am working through some concept ideas but am more than happy to listen to suggestions for what you guys would like to see.

oooh... Immortal!!! I'm in your S&S campaign (I play Seijiro!) It will be good to play wiff ya!
lol I totally didn't catch that jAFO. It will be awesome to play with you as well. With all of you in fact. I'll work out some ideas and throw them against the wall and see what sticks.

As Tolus said, we would rather you come up with something you will enjoy pretending to be than just fill the square. Fortunately, the guidance you have been given is about tools, not the personality that uses them. Gives you a LOT of room to work with!

I don't know all the details, but a PBP I finished off a different forum had the guy using a mapping tool that let everybody make changes to the map, save those changes, and post a link to the new version. VERY HANDY for tactical work, if you want to go into that detail.
Let me find one of those links, again . . ..
http://beta.ditzie.com is the base site. The question mark leads to instructions.
http://beta.ditzie.com/28213/503b726985abe was a map from late in the final fight of the module. Obviously, he had an electronic version of the module maps already.
There is also Roll20.net which is really good and pretty easy to use and is web based. The only issue is that people that post on tablets and such wont be able to use it currently.
I recommended a spellslinger wizard to cover both fields but arcane archer or arcane bomber would work well too. Heck, immrtl, if you wanted to reflavor the spellslinger wizard to be oriented towards bows instead of guns we could do that.
