Rameth the Delver |
oh fine. Leave the dress of no one is going to go out.
Rameth finishes interning the bodies
I guess we leave since no one seems willing to act on the getting a scroll of mending
Rameth the Delver |
there is nothing left. We cleared the place
Sir Howard |
To Sumak:
Oh it's a fine tune, written to celebrate the coronation of Sidney the Simple, a rather ineffectual king of Taldor.
Truth to tell he was quite foolish, and it's widely believed he was cuckolded by his prime minister who is thought to be the real father of Sidney's son, Darius the Great.
But we don't talk about that much because that would mean the dynasty is illegitimate and would cause a civil war, which would be dreadful.
Rameth the Delver |
Rameth leads the group out with his new friend
Ibrahim he says when he is invariably greeted same deal of course. Additionally there is a valuable dress in there that needs to be mended before it can be moved. Anything exciting happen while we were gone?
Ibrahim the Grey |
I didn't mean to imply Ibrahim was there outside the gate, he's not omniscient (or is he?). And is that the same deal on all the treasure? I need to know for the auction he mentioned earlier in the AP.
As you travel to the gate of the Necropolis you see that Ibrahim and his gang of workers have set up a base camp for adventurers and explorers.
A wide tent with broad purple borders on a white background flutters in the breeze as other adventurers meet with similarly colorless clerks. His workers and guards are ferrying items, and in some cases bodies, back into the city on hand carts.
Ah, Rameth, my...good friend. It isss ssso nice to...sssee you at my little essstablissshment.
He waves a hand at the surroundings.
Of courssse I'd be...pleasssed to help you. If you could simply provide the map that the Pharasssmansss gave...you at the ssstart of the day'sss adventuresss asss well asss a...brief dessscription of what you found there I'd be mossst eager to help.
He takes out a wax tablet to inscribe notes on.
Tell me my...good...friend, you sssay mending is thisss magical mending? That kind of expertissse comesss at a price. Sssay...thirteen Osssirani hedj? A hedj is a silver coin the equivalent of 1 gold piece.
Roll Perception for me Sumak, Azubah and Rameth.
Rameth the Delver |
yea I think we settled on 6%. I'll check but everything he sells for us he gets that cut if Rameth sells t his trait let's him sell it for an extra 10%. Also any benefit tot he haunt sotuation
Rameth the Delver |
[b] 13 is an unlucky number 12. Have boned your men make a copy, we wouldn't want to lose ours but that is no issue. Rameth recounts the info.[/b{
Also we will need to do another spelcraft on the ring that cursed me
Percep 1d20 + 8 + 1d6 ⇒ (14) + 8 + (5) = 27
Ibrahim the Grey |
Resolving the haunt gave you the warm, satisfied glow of a job well done. (XP!) Also it would make the Pharasman church happy since you're laying people to rest.
Bessss would laugh to hear of me...paying you to perform a ssservice! However, to appeassse...your...numerological bent I might sssell the ssscroll for cossst of twelve and one half hedj?
If...sssomeone of your party wasss to go along to...cassst the ssspell.
The same oily smile you've seen so many times pools on his lower face.
Rameth, you can see your, still unnamed, dog flatten its six ears and crouch at the approach of Ibrahim.
Rameth the Delver |
Done. Tell you what just give me the scroll and I will go do it.. rameth counts it out
Its ok Trip. Rameth pets the dog, then picks him up, and sets him in his pack.
Beyond that there is a fair amount of art and all that we will need to find good buyers for, I understand we might have to wait.
Ibrahim the Grey |
Excellent, I am glad we can come to an...underssstanding.
He motions over a group of men, led by a large Osirian man with the inevitable Khopesh who looks like a muscle laden, shaven baboon.
Djau, pleassse...asssissst Rameth with a return to hisss dig sssite. Remember to get a...receipt for Rameth of all the goodsss we take into posssesssion for him.
He turns towards you and claps his hands.
Not to worry, Djau is one of my bessst men.
DMummy |
Let me know where everyone besides Rameth goes - you can report at the Temple of Pharasma or return the inn before turning in a written report. I forgot to mention that as part of your exploration you need to give a description of what you found and if any of your companions died inconveniently.
Azubah |
Perception
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
He seems trustworthy.
Rameth the Delver |
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9 to make sure the guy he is traveling with is legit
Albus join me would you? Just incase that creepy head comes back.
Rameth the Delver |
1d20 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 1 + 4 = 22 Fort vs mind fire
Sumak Wonderfoot |
If you need any help with that scroll, I may be able to help a little, you know I read somewhere that is something an awesome adventure like me would do.
My spellcraft is +10 as well
Rameth the Delver |
Appreicate it but I'm pretty sure angel eyes here can do it if I can't.. It doesn't really sound like he appreciates it, he might but he is a surly fella
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Rameth the Delver |
bah the h is silent
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25 success
Sumak Wonderfoot |
Okey Dokey, I will go back to the tavern and drink and prepare my newest adventure book, that will surely be a best seller, I mean it will rival the greatest writers!
Sumak will follow anybody that is leaving the necropolis and go to the tavern.
Dwalindor the Pahmet |
" I'll go with ya. I am feeling generous I will even let you buy me a drink ... But not some fruity wine. I ain't up for that elf stuff. A nice stout with some flavor. ."
Sumak Wonderfoot |
Fruity wine, I read that great adventures drink whatever the local flavor. I heard that Wati has some great selections of wine. Unfortunately I am slightly short on money, but maybe they will let me tell stories for some money.
What is the rules on using Perform to earn some money in the local tavern.
Rameth the Delver |
Usually make a perform check and compare it against a certain table that represents one hour of work
DMummy |
What he said - don't do it too much mind. It's entirely possible to use "downtime" to make a whopping great fortune from item crafting. Like most DM's I'm of the mind that if you want to make money off of crafting you should probably stop being an adventurer. You should have the payout from the tomb though, did you spend all of that?
Rameth the Delver |
[ooc{ I think Sumak should just get level 3 wealth[/ooc]
Rameth the Delver |
no idea!
"Angel Eyes" Albus |
Me neither but I think lvl 3 wealth is a good approximation.
Once back in the tomb Albus cast mending from the scroll into the dress.
There, lets get out of here. Adventuring is thirsty work. Grabbing the cloth they make their way to meet the others at the tavern.
Something tells me it may not be that easy but one can always hope.
DMummy |
The Tooth & Hookah tavern is buzzing with far more people than it was yesterday.
Word has gotten out that adventurers and explorers are congregating here.
The usual opportunists offering amulets and magical charms guaranteed to ward off the attentions of the undead or vile beasts jostle for space with merchants selling armor and weapons, naturally from master blacksmiths such as only Osirion can produce.
Starry eyed youths offering their services as bearers or supporters are competing with others who are trying to looked skilled and tough to find a exciting life outside of their parents' shops and businesses.
There's even money changers trading foreign currency or precious stones for the reliable Osiriani silver hedj and copper debben that had remained unchanged outside of the faces of the pharoahs for almost eight thousand years.
As you press through the throng to reach the calmer, but still packed, inn is bustling, and flagging down a server is more complicated than you expected.
Sumak Wonderfoot |
Sumak will make his way to a table, and order a local speciality for himself and a strong drink for Dwalindor and await the others.
Dwalindor, have you heard about Indiana Baggins and the Crystal ring?
Rameth the Delver |
Im off seeing about a dress
DMummy |
By DM Fiat, Indiana Baggins and the Crystal Ring is widely believed to be a slanderous lie on the great Indiana Baggins exploits. His more well known adventures, Plunderers of the Missing Chest, Indiana Baggins and the Church of Downfall and Indiana Baggins and the Ultimate Campaign are widely known by halfling bards to be true however. ;)
DMummy |
Im off seeing about a dress
Albus cast the spell so the dress is now whole and you can return.
I think Sumak should just get level 3 wealth
Can you tabulate the total wealth and let me know? If its less than 3000 gp that's probably a fair amount, I hate to set one of you far above the others.
Dwalindor the Pahmet |
Dwalindor looks relieved to finally have the drink.
"finally! I thought I was gonna have to bust some heads to get a drink in this place. Huh, what's that? Baggins? Name sounds familiar but not been keeping up with the tabloids. I stay in the wild or delves most of the time. I wonder how the others are doin with the fancy dress stuff. Probably better without me. I gave been told I can be a bit abrasive. I like that, but not good fer business."
He spits and slams his tankard down hard on the table.
"BARKEEP! We need refills!. "
Azubah |
"My good man, a small beer please. And might I have an empty cup as well? It is in memory of a departed friend." Azubah figures that Sir Howard might at least be able to enjoy the memory of a drink.
DMummy |
The overworked waitress arrives and hands out the various drinks to the adventurers.
Sumak gets a cup of milky-white palm wine, Dwalindor gets an almost black stout brewed by the Pahmet for trade and Azubah gets the Osiriani beer and an empty cup.
That's four debben for the wine, six for the Pahmet, and four debben for the beer.
She looks at you expectantly.
Dwalindor the Pahmet |
"Hey, Sumak. Pay the wench. I will catch the next round."
"Angel Eyes" Albus |
How much was the dress worth? Hope it was more than the trouble to get it :P
After retriving the dress and putting it for selling with the rest of the loot Albus returns to meet the others at the tavern.
Ok, dress is done. Wasup guys? He says grabbing a stool and sitting down.
It pains me to say this but I think we should report that flying head and the other undeads to the Pharasmian #%$@ before our next expedition. It could have ended badly, those things were powerfull.
Dwalindor the Pahmet |
"Hey Albus, those flyin heads were pests to be sure. Have a drink with me and Sumak. He probably wants to hear all about them heads."
Azubah |
"Perhaps we can convince the Pharasmins to reward us for the information."
Clearly, his more worldly companions are starting to have an influence on Azubah. Or maybe it is the beer.
Sumak Wonderfoot |
Dwalindor, you have not heard of the greatest halfling, nay greatest adventure and explore of all time, INDIANA BAGGINS!! I dare say that is a sad thing, lucky for you great Dwalindor, SUMAK here knows ALL the tales of how he rescued damsels in distress, killed dragons all by himself, and found more lost civilizations then any known explorer!
Dwalindor the Pahmet |
"Um, no." Dwalindor drains his stout and starts looking to see if he can get the attention of the serving girl again.
DMummy |
