Celestra Zomesco |
Round 4
Celestra doesn't need her arm twisted today. When Harry withdraws, she retreats as well, overtaking him on the way with her long stride.
"I think Lord Perdition actually has some good advice right now!"
Ailetha Aurcalam |
This might be a bad idea, but lets see if nonviolent spells affect if.
I 5-foot step back and cast Glitterdust so that only the golem is in the range.
Standard Action: Cast Glitterdust - DC17 Will or blinded for 5 rounds.
DM Zyren/ Heart of Runes |
Slowly the monstrous thing follows you into the main chamber of the tower where it is hit by the cloud of glitterdust
Will save1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
the creature stops dead in its tracks and begins to rub its eyes
Ouh! Shinyshine hurts da eyes!
even though the golem is distracted and does not advance, it seems ready to lash out at those getting too close.

Round 5
"Handsome, I know you like to have me touch you, but you shouldn't purposely get yourself hurt!"
Celestra casts Cure Moderate Wounds upon her wounded companion.
2d8 + 5 ⇒ (2, 3) + 5 = 10
Heavy Harry |
"he didn't seem so keen on taking no for an answer, had more hands going than a sailor fresh in port"
Holding action, but assuming the otehrs remain sort of static, Harry maintains a 5' step and attack if it comes into strike range until told otherwise
Karlan Bladetwist |
Seeing Perditions gambit fail to pay off Karlan will 5ft shift if necessary to avoid the pit and continue his onslaught against the now blinded opponent.
Attack Sword.
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
1d8 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Attack Shield.
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
1d4 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Ailetha Aurcalam |
Harry, wait a minute, I should be able to heal you before he gets another shot at you.
Round 6
I assume that Harry will delay until after me.
Cast: Cure Moderate Wounds: 2d8 + 5 ⇒ (5, 1) + 5 = 11
Pretty crappy roll.
DM Zyren/ Heart of Runes |
Even with a reduction he would have made it.
Another mighty blow from karlan makes the golem stumble, but the blinded monster growls and tries to retaliate
using readied attack action.
Scarecrow Golem attacking Karlan/ Slam1d20 + 15 ⇒ (17) + 15 = 32
Damage2d8 + 9 ⇒ (8, 7) + 9 = 24
Scarecrow Golem attacking Karlan/ Slam1d20 + 15 ⇒ (13) + 15 = 28
Damage2d8 + 9 ⇒ (7, 4) + 9 = 20
@ Karlan: You have a 50% concealment against the blinded golem...you should better use it...

after lashing out the monster takes its defensive stance again
I kill kill everyone who comes close close!

@ Karlan: You have a 50% concealment against the blinded golem...you should better use it...
Is Karlan supposed to roll the miss percentage? I figured that if an attack was a hit, you as DM would roll and if the result was 1-50 on a d100, the attack would miss.

I was under the impression as well unless you want me to roll it. Also you can only ready a standard or move action at a time so he'd only get that one attack.
Celestra Zomesco |
Round 6
"Cayden Cailean, we need your support right now. Send down your healing energy and engulf us in your spirit!"
Celestra channels energy healing everyone in a 30 foot radius. (She will selectively avoid healing the golem)
3d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 2) = 8
Heavy Harry |
R6
"Nah I wanna hack its legs off" Harry replies, a bit Half-Orcish...
Harry moves in, looking to off-flank with Karlan again, a nasty sneer set upon his face as he realises the thing is blinded.
Attack 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20+2?
Damage 2d10 + 13 ⇒ (1, 7) + 13 = 21
Sneak 3d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 1) = 10
DM Zyren/ Heart of Runes |
Ah damn, I just copied his complete attack entry from my word file without second thought. And in my P&P groups we houseruled that concealment is rolled by the defender, but no problem, I can do that aswell.
Scarecrow Golem attacking Karlan/ Slam1d20 + 15 ⇒ (17) + 15 = 32
Damage2d8 + 9 ⇒ (8, 7) + 9 = 24
Concealment 1d100 ⇒ 88
the golem hits with its wild swing!
@ Harry: +2 is correct.
another nasty attack from Harry, but the Golem had readied another attack and counterattacks
Scarecrow Golem attacking Harry / Slam1d20 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18
Damage2d8 + 9 ⇒ (4, 2) + 9 = 15
Concealment 1d100 ⇒ 60
and the creature hits again, but the weak attack is deflected by Harry's armour.

Harry maintains his attack, defensively now he has drawn the Golems 'affections' and can so easily be taken down by the creature...
Attack 1d20 + 9 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 9 + 2 - 4 = 23

Ouh! I die soon soon! Master, help me!
then he lashes out again at Karlan
Scarecrow Golem attacking Karlan/ Slam1d20 + 15 ⇒ (10) + 15 = 25

then the golem is hit hard by Harry's axe and stumbles, tries to get up again, but then lies still on the ground as his arms give way.
Celestra Zomesco |
Round 7
"Oh Cayden Cailean of divine awesomeness! Keep the healing coming, like wine flows from your temples!"
Celestra channels Cailean's divine energy!
Channel Energy 3d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 3) = 12
Healing in a 30 foot radius around Celestra with the exception of the golem
Karlan Bladetwist |
"OW!" Really?!?" Karlan says in astonishment as another of the golems wild punches manages to connect. Lunging once more he looks to finish the golem off.
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30
1d8 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16 been forgettign my dirty fighter trait.
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13
1d4 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Celestra Zomesco |
"Thank the drunken hero that he is dead! I was not so sure we were going to survive that one! Is everyone ok, or do any of you need some extra healing?"
Heavy Harry |
...until Harry breaks the queit with one more sickening his with his axe, straight into the creatures neck - cleaving at the spine.
"He started it" Harry adds, a touch defensively.
"Any chance of a bit more touching before we head up the rest of the tower?"
Harry checks over the creatures body for items of worth while he waits.
Perception 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22
Celestra Zomesco |
Celestra will cast detect magic and look into the magical spectrum to see if she can recognize any auras around the scythe or elsewhere in the room.
Spellcraft 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
Celestra Zomesco |
"Well, my friends, this cloak seems to be a very fine cloak indeed. It gives off a faint aura of illusion and appears to be of elven make. I believe it will assist greatly with any efforts at stealth, if you like that sort of thing. As for the scythe, it is certainly magical, but I wouldn't use it unless you came upon some undead wheat or something. So are any of you still in need of healing? I have a few spells remaining, but soon I will need to rest, drink, and celebrate some more if I am to get my spells back."
Heavy Harry |
"That thing was a bit rough, and as well put - we now know what this lot do with all the left over flesh. What we got left for healing? Harry is likewise still not in the best condition, that thing hit like a truck.
Perdition Banderflash |
Pulling a little bandolier of viles from his pack, Perdition looks them over whilst sitting upon the body of the felled monster. "Hmmmm, where did you get off t'...ah! Here we go! I have three of these little beauties. Not much, but better than nothing. They should at least close your most dangerous wounds." Holding three viles of shimmering green liquid, Perdition offers them up with a smile and says, "Please. Enjoy."
3 potions of CLW
Celestra Zomesco |
Reaching out her arms with a tankard of ale in hand, Celestra calls out.
"Blessed Cayden Cailean, protector of children, and the life of all parties, send forth your healing energy to liven up things around here! Give us the strength to carry on, despite all the negative evil energy that threatens your good will! I ask this in your name!"
Celestra repeatedly Channels Cayden Cailean's Divine Energy to heal up Karlan and Harry. Just to be safe, she avoids doing this near the deceased golem.
Channel Energy 3d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 2) = 7
Channel Energy 3d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 1) = 10
