Nah, that check is too long ago :)
As Harry peers into the darkness ahead of him suddenly a blade appears as if by magic and cuts him nearly in two
Scythe2d6 + 11 ⇒ (3, 6) + 11 = 20
Stumbling backwards the hardened half-orc pales as a massive monster appears out of the back of the room.
A flesh golem - unmistakenly - but this one looks much fiecer that those you have heard about...
Celestra Zomesco |
Celestra jumps aside, but draws her rapier just in case.
"Cayden Cailean, help us stay out of this guys way, and while you are at it, please heal up Harry as well!"
Celestra approaches Harry from behind and attempts to heal his wounds by casting Cure Moderate Wounds upon him.
Cure Moderate Wounds 2d8 + 5 ⇒ (5, 6) + 5 = 16
"Don't you be thinking that I can't keep my hands off of you, but you looked like you needed this."

Geez, Ninja Golem? Beat Harry's Darkvision AND his Uncanny Dodge - bit harsh. We getting some initiative dice down? Now he's in melee range, Harry would like to stay close, not giving the creature the reach advantage of size and weapon.

that thing even has a cloak of elvenkind! *_*
As the pit opens underneath the monster's feet, it tries to dodge away from the yawning gap

+4 to Init, we are in Harry's 'Favoured terrain' - not that one would know it given how much he just got caught pants down and last on init again :p Anyhow...waiting...
Celestra Zomesco |
Harry, Celestra tried to heal you before the battle got going. I'm not sure if you saw that, or if you thought that maybe I wasn't able to fit that in before initiative.

as the golem tries to climb out of the pit, he slips and curses in a strange hollow voice.
The fireblast however does nothing - the monster just absorbs it and chuckles gleefully.
Lightning...gimme lightning! it moans...
Ailetha Aurcalam |
Er, Sparky, I don't think that fire hurts it much. And since it seems to be asking for lightning, I am guessing that is an even worse idea.
How deep is the pit? And are there things around that we could drop on it? Chunks of stone, rocks, furniture, etc?
Celestra Zomesco |
Round 1
Celestra loads her crossbow, aims, and releases a bolt at it, to see if the creature is susceptible to damage.

"Well, I am all out of ideas.", Perdition says as he cast mage armor on himself and moves back from the pit. Scratching his chin he looks at the golem he tries to remember what he has heard of the creatures in his travels. "It seems I have seen one of these before...."

Hold action 5ft away from edge of pit until spell ends and golem pops back up to eat a full attack this round.

Big and dumb the man of skin;
Asked for lightning to fry him thin;
Through his scheme we saw;
And shot him in the maw;
Now all thats left is its scary grin.

@ Perdy:
You once heard that damage dealing spells only slow a golem down, but not actually hurt it.
The golem tries to get out of the hole again

but it still is unable to climb out but

Well then, lets keep shooting it. When it comes up we can hit it. Perdy, do you think that blinding it might help? And let us know when your spell is about to end so that we can ready our weapons.

DM Zyren/ Heart of Runes |
Neither lamp nor torches

With stoic willpower the golem finally manages not to slip and crawls out of the hole, staring at you with hatred eyes

the monster growls and raises its scythe.
Karlan is still missing in this round.
@ Perdy:
The fact that this fleshgolem is able to speak might indicate that its mind is not as void as you would have expected it.

Ailetha Aurcalam |
I started to type the one on my phone and then got interrupted, sorry for the delay.
You see Ailetha smile as her blade cuts through the monster. Then her song starts to take on a more vicious nature.
The blades strike out;
They cut your snout;
Next goes your arms;
So there'll be no alarms;
And last is your head;
Without it you'll be dead.
