Thinking on what he has gleaned from his limited research since coming upon the Drow, "Beware the blade and bow, we know the Drow use poison."
EVERYONE: +1 to hit, +1AC, +1 vs supernatural abilities, against the DROW only. Unfortunately this wont save you vs any administered poison, but will make you harder to hit.
Sable Eboncrow |
Sable spits at the ground, "You'll join him soon enough, dark one."
With a harsh eldritch phrase, Sable attempts to cast steal voice on the drow.

@ Sable:
You have to overcome a Spell Resistance of 17 to target her with spells.
Like water on a lotus blossom you spell is just shrugged off by the malicious drow.
The two dretches each concentrate and try to summon more of their own kind.

Lame damage...!
DM Zyren / Heart of Riddles |
The dark elf grimaces as Winter's blade bites deep into her tigh, she grits her teeth and turns around. Meanwhile Kabal sheds black demon blood as he scores a hit against the dretch.
Depora now withdraws and jumps on the rune-carved stone round! Like an acrobat she just runs on the steep stone ring, she seems to have the sure feet of a spider.
Now you realize that the thing, the ancient stone full of runes that comes out of the wall here, actually is a part of the Cyphergate!
Following her needs a Climb Check DC 10 to get on that thing, then an Acrobatics DC 12 to follow.
Bree Longfield |
Bree hesitates only a breaths span. She knows she cannot take her on her own, and is unsure if the others wish to give chase or let the Drow flee. She looks to the others, knowing that if she is going to catch up to her she must act quickly. Bree sprints after the Drow, hoping that someone is following behind.

"Drow have an inherent resistance to magic. So it is good to use spell that avoid directly affecting them."
Sebastian moves up behind the wave of fighters and casts Grease on the Drow's dagger.
dc 14 reflex save or the blade is dropped. One more round of buff against the Drow, but then that is it for those buffs.

Hmm, I see. I figured it would have been more narrow with the acrobatics checks. I guess the curve is just that steep?

1 person marked this as a favorite. |
For clarification: The arch is 15 feet wide - or at least 15 feet that don't force you to balance - so 2 vs. 1 is no problem. Sable has overtaken you at the beginning of rd 3, but he couldn't attack then, because he used a run action to get there. I will take his attack roll for the AoO he is permitted when Depora fires the crossbow and afterwards move away from him. The acrobatics are necessary to not get blown off the arch once you are up, before, you had to make them because of the steepness.
For clarification I made a quick map.
Back in the cave Kabal and Winter finish both dretches in one round!
On the arch Depora hisses as Sable attacks her, but she fires her crossbow in melee - Sable's sickle misses - and moves away from him.
Depora attacking Sable/Hand Crossbow1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23
Damage1d4 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
If wounded:
Greenblood Oil
Save Fortitude DC 13
Frequency 1/round for 4 rounds
Effect 1 Con damage; Cure 1 save
BTW: Her hand crossbow is a "bayonet hand crossbow" which also counts as a melee weapon, functions as a dagger in hand to hand combat.
@ Bree: I moved you around her to box her in, but you have to make an acrobatics roll do avoid her AoO.

Drenched in the demon's gore; Kabal eyed the arch dubiously.

He gets a good look around while catching his breath.

You boys ok? Corvax? You've been way too quiet lately. You aint up to that thinking stuff again are you?

"Nah, jus' got stuck at t'back of the group an' away from all t'fightin'. Seein' as that is m'main skill I felt a lil bit like a fifth wheel on a cart. Feelin' a bit better now though, got in some actual hits, even if they din't do an 'uge amount."
Corvax gives the arch a critical look and thinks that maybe he isn't cut out for the whole clambering and balancing thing.
Kabal Breven |
A fifth wheel on a cart? Who would...sounds dumb...oh, I see. Hah! Yah, I aint much on these tight tunnels either. Be good to get some fresh air here soon.
The big man peered up again at the arch.
So I guess now we just wait huh?
