Sanity 1d100 ⇒ 54 v 77

"Could all be a trick, perhaps something is in the water..."

Murphy looks for a rock on the ground to throw at them.

"Go on! $%@$ off!"

Male Offensive Option

Hey everyone. My internet access has taken a nosedive and may be sporadic for the next few days. Just fyi if my posting is intermittent. Thanks for understanding.

Sanity Check 1d100 ⇒ 40

Whatever they are...if they bleed we can kill them...and if they are the ones that took that sweet woman...well then they deserve what I am going to give them. Victor has a focused, intense look to him. He calmly checks to make sure a round is chambered before taking a firing position behind the stone.

As Murphy throws the stone, Cummings laughs like a madman

Yeah f.uck off you monsters! Then he jumps down the slope, falls, gets back on his hands and feet, crawls forward and vanishes in the black firs, all the while laughing hysterically.

Mr. Cummings, wait! The eyes of the Professor widen as his gaze follows the maniacal Cummings.

Male Human Offensive Option 3

Daniel begins to chuckle a bit maniacally, but for this time, he can still pull himself together.

"Who would have guessed he knew such words...Anybody care to help me catching him?"

"Come on! We have to stop him!"
Reggie climbs out of the pit and races after Cummings.
He is unaware of it but Reggie is still holding the burned head of the walking stick in his hand.

Male Human Offensive Option 3

Daniel tries to keep at Reggies side, KNOWINGLY keeping the stove iron in hand...

As you break through the first firs, you nearly crash into Cummings who stands about fifteen feet away from one of those strange monsters, but there are more of them behind it... Now that you are closer, they remind you of a strange caricature of a deformed and monstrous Pan. Goatlike legs, a human torso and an ugly, distorted face. The monster has two claw-like hands and gibbers evily as you approach.

"Sorry have to run."
Appearent Reggie gets flipp when he's terrified. Good to know.

Step I: Reggie grabs Cummings by the left wrist and draws him back and to the right. This keeps Cumminds between Reggie and the thing as well as forcing Cummings to turn breaking his line of sight on the thing as well.

Step II: Run for the standing stones.

Step III: Profit! Or get eaten, it's a coin-toss really.

At the sight of the goat men, Charlie freezes. His face is pale, his mouth is wordless. He tries to stammer something, but no noise is made. He simply looks to his companions and then to the goat men, scooting closer to the nearest person with a gun and then shivers with fear as he awaits what he assumes to inevitably be a horrible, gruesome death.

Male Human Offensive Option 3

Daniel grabs Cummins other arm, so, if he doesn't run on his own, Reggie and Daniel can more or less pull him along. Hopefully thee odds of escaping (at least get to the others) increase this way.

"Don't run, it shows fear... just start walking away. Don't make eye contact, and keep the movements deliberate and calm..."

"Which way is out of here?"

Charlie moves away from the edge of the hill, behind his better-armed companions. "Just shoot one, Jesus!" he cries, having obviously gone over the edge of hysteria.

What's behind us on the map? At this point, Charlie would rather take his chances running than trying to punch one of those goat things.

"Whately farm is to the north. Follow our tracks back. Come on Cummings, Professor's waiting."

Cummings curses as you drag him away and kicks some stones over to the goatmen who follow you, but as soon as you have made it out of the firs again, they stop and wait in the relative darkness of the forest.

They don't like sunlight!

Shouts the Professor and grabs Charlie's arm as he turns for the other side of the hill.

Don't, there are more of them...

And indeed, the professor is right. The hill is surrounded by these strange creatures, who lurk in the forest and don't dare to enter bright sunlight...at least for now. All in all there are at least 30 of them...waiting...gibbering...

"Then we'd best hurry, as we are burning daylight and need to get somewhere safe and soon"

Cummings takes another stone and throws it into the line of trees

Hurry? How? They will kill us if we leave the hilltop?!

"And they'll kill us at nightfall if we don't, do you see a way off this thing?"

"The bear! Where we came through the trees. It was just a thin stand. We should try to get through there! Come on!"

Reggie urges the others back along the line of their own tracks.

Wait, we should go together, ok?

The Professor helps Victor to get out of the hole and continues

We should be very cautious and we should find a marching order with guns at all sides.

Cummings nods eagerly

Who of us has a pistol?

Male Human Offensive Option 3

Daniel shakes his head lifting the heavy iron slightly.
"Only this, I guess I will stay between you."

I think the need for caution died with my aunt. From the way they walk it looks like we might have a speed advantage. Might. As soon as we move they will be after us and will try to head us off. We will get one chance gentelmen. Time to run.

Luckily Reggie left his pack at the farmhouse-of-horrors so he is travelling light at the moment.

Charlie nods his head frantically, agreeing openly with Reggie. "I'll stay in the middle... I don't have a gun..." he mumbles quietly to himself, pacing around and waiting for the group the make their move.

I'm all ready for the all-out sprint :P

Murphy shows his pistol, and then falls into line.

One acrobatics check then, please.

Ok then!

Cummings grabs the Professor and together they sprint down the hill!

Acrobatics 1d20 ⇒ 13

Male Human Offensive Option 3

Acrobatics:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

Male Human Defensive Option

"I've got a pistol, I'll keep to the left of the group."

Acrobatics 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15

Acrobatics. Not sure what, if anything to add, but here we go! 1d20 ⇒ 6

Let's see what Victor and Charlie can do.

Charlie takes off after Cummings and the Professor at top speed.

Acrobatics 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

Male Offensive Option

Victor sprints after Cummings and the Professor next to Charlie, his gun drawn and ready. Acrobatics 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

Everyone is pretty fast except Reggie who stumbles and can only hardly keep up with the rest.

With loud gibbering, the goatmen pursue you into the forest, you have a head start of about 40m but this can melt quickly if you don't keep up the speed.

Another round of acrobatics checks.

Cummings shouts Come on, come on now! We can make it!

"Blasted tree root!"

1d20 ⇒ 6 acrobatics.

"Go! Go! I'm right behind you!"

Male Human Offensive Option 3

Somebody help me to help Reggie. I will not leave him behind, even if I have to carry him

Daniel tries to drag Reggie along.

Acrobatics 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Just in Case: Strenght 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Looks like he is going to need that help!

Male Offensive Option

Dr. Victor Alden, seeing his new friend in danger, snarls and spins towards the oncoming goat men. Take him I'll cover you! he says before squeezing off a round at the closest goat man, hoping to keep them from coming any closer. Shot at lead goat man, if within 30' add 1 to hit and damage. 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 222d8 ⇒ (6, 7) = 13

The shot thunders through the forest and for a short moment everything is quiet, even the demonic gibbering stops as the bullet sinks between the eyes of one of the goatmen. The others stop dead in their tracks and looks at their sibling who doubles over and without a sound falls to the ground.

Run on?

Male Human Offensive Option 3

Daniel will try, but he will also try to keep an eye on Reggie
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Just in Case: Strength: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
As seen...Daniel tries, stumbles, tries...

Murphy waits with his pistol to cover Daniel as he tries to make good his escape.

Male Offensive Option

Victor looks desperately at his companions and says Let's go chaps! We need to move! He will continue to cover his new friends though. We need to move more quickly.

Charlie freezes only a moment for the sound of the gunshot, then continues his mad dash away from the gibbering monsters.

Acrobatics 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22

Would like to see at least one roll by Dr. Chilcott.

The shot has surely confused your pursuers, but only moments after the hit one has collapsed, the gibbering echoes through the forest again!

If they seem to be gaining on him, Charlie yells in terror "Shoot another one!" as he flees.

Male Human Defensive Option

Sorry for the delay chaps! Got waylaid by a pesky bout of unconciousness.

Acrobatics from that last round of running 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 Oops, might have to start shooting Goatmen.

A tree branch appears out of nowhere and tangles in James' shirt, yanking him off his feet and causing him to waste precious time untangling himself. Glancing behind him he blanches at how close the gibbering monstrosities are and hurries to catch up with his companions.

Encouraged by Dr. Chilcott's weak performance the goatmen continue their pursuit and manage to get a bit closer.

They are now about 30m behind you, while the forest edge is still 300m away. There are still like a dozen of them behind you.

New rd. of acrobatics.

Murphy takes a shot at the horde..

Attack 1d20 ⇒ 12 (How do I work out BAB??)

And keeps withdrawing...

Acrobatics 1d20 ⇒ 11

Male Human Offensive Option 3

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
If needed: Strength: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11

"Rhatz"
At least Daniel isn't crashing to the ground again, I guess being on a years long toot left a bigger mark then just the occasional trembling. Seems like he is stumbling around as if he were still a rummy.

Male Human Defensive Option

Yours will be +1 because you chose the offensive class option, defensive will be +0, if that was what you meant.

Divine Gamemaster of the Abyss and below...

Ninjaed by the doctor

Male Human Defensive Option

Acrobatics 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21

James finally finds his balance and continues to flee from the Goatmen, not taking the risk of stopping to fire at them with so little distance for them to close.

Reggie Scrambles to his feet trying to make up the lost ground. 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
