An epic search for the Amethyst heptagon leads a party of fresh graduates through the northern reaches of Ustalav. Based in Karcau, the party visits places like the dark Castle Jarovich or the dangerous alleys of Carrion Hill.
Tell them to start with something small. Fatty areas with less nerves are the best, over muscle is worse, over bone even more so, and then of course high nerve areas such as the face, fingers, bottom of the foot and genitalia are the absolute most painful.
The most painful area for tattoos was my chest I have to say-the closer to the heart, the more painful...praise god that it's full now. Shins and calves were easy, arms too, back is bad and ribs also :)
Well, three doctors, one of them doing piercings himself, told me better not too get either tattoos nor piercings, as diabetics with know wound issues and peopleh with a collection of allergies are known for complications (and hey, I am both). While I like tattoos as well as piercings, I don't like them enough to take the risk.
Oh, and good morning everybody!
Nightshift is over, day at the university begins.
Folks from the Heart of Runes campaign, I'm thinking of running a half-elf melee ranger, since I heard you guys need a melee and some extra skills (more wilderness-focused). Did I get that right? Would you rather have me ranged or something like that?
The player you are really replacing is a half-orc ranger who fought with an Earthbreaker, so that works. You really want enough melee capabilities, but having a decent ranged attacker would be nice. Harry and Karlan can be a pretty good wall when necessary and Ailetha and Celestra are competent flankers. But having another strong arm would be quite useful.
So, to confuse you, either works for me. Weapon & Shield style might be another option. Being able to grant Harry +2 to AC with Saving Shield would be nice.
Really, I think that any of these would work fine. If you consider Archery, you could even think about the trapper archetype which allows you to connect traps to your arrows. I always thought that was pretty cool.
ZZ, see being a chick, the chest was a good area for me because of the extra fat, at least for right on the top of the breast. I don't have one over my sternum or clavicle which is a common place for them. I have one on my ankle that hurt a bit more because of the bone. The one on my arm covers a larger area, and it's fully colored so that hurt but in a milder way. It was more like being burned over a larger area versus stabbing or bee sting like feeling. I'm thinking about going in next Saturday to get my kids name and the autism awareness ribbon.
It's OK to not have tattoos, guys (or piercings), to each their own. There's something to be said for the tabula rasa body as well.
Sorry for the lack of responses, been at Larp again! Twas so much fun. I'm now head of Plot for our winter events! Had an absolute blast- until this afternoon when I was runing around with a friend on my back, slipped in the gravel and bit the dirt. Busted open my knee, her chin, and chipped her tooth O_O
Since I'm having trouble deciding this myself, I ask for your help, fellow players. I have sketched a backstory, and got most issues pinned up, but I couldn't decide on the gender of my character. I'm a male player and I'd be lying if I said that I have roleplayed many female characters, but that may come as an interesting challenge.
The character will most probably be a finesse-type, so either way it will be slender and agile, not hulking and strapping like Handsome Harry there.
The party started with 5 guys - although I am not sure which way the witch played. Since then it has lost a male half-orc double cursed oracle -- replaced by Celestra (female cleric of Cayden); it has lost the male (I think) witch -- replaced by Ailetha (female bard); gained Perdition (pyromaniac male gnome sorcerer); lost both Perdition and Kaynk (male half-orc ranger); and most recently gained Alana (female elf fey sorcerer). So we have gone from 5 men to 2 men and 3 women. If you want to help out Harry and Karlan with the testosterone, go male. If you want to try playing a lady, go female. Really makes no difference except that Harry is less likely to hit on you if you are male.
heart of runes, i was ready for some The Hills have Eyes and it's been freaking Baby Daddy soap opera for like 2 pages now...
yeesh. I just searched Baby Daddy and it's an actual US TV show. that's actually scarier than any horror movie. Where is the modern day equivalent of the Visigoths to burn down this stinking wreck of an empire??? Germany? you got anything?
Bwah!!! Damn carpal tunnel surgery! Two weeks and I was not allowed to touch the keyboard! But now I'm free you hear me, FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lol, congrats, Shady. I hope it works out well for you. I've heard mixed things about the surgery, mostly leaning towards the "it made it worse" end of the spectrum.
Well mine was very early stages, wrists were both functional and able to bend in every direction but I couldn't put pressure on them ie: open handed pushups that bent the wrist back AND put a lot of pressure on it. I could do pushups on my fists but thats really unstable. Right now I'm mostly pain free but I haven't tested them fully with pushups and I'm not going to until the stitches are out and the doctor says I can. But he told me yesterday that I'm allowed to use computers again as long as I actually type correctly with wrists parralell to the desk AND i have to wear a brace on both wrist.
PS: What did I miss? I know I was talking with ZZ about a character but after my sudden (I got a call from the doctors office saying a spot had opened up the next day where before I was going to wait a month) surgery I would not be surprised if that chance has passed.
We Germans are totally occupied with helping out everyone else in Europe, no free hands to tear America down - hey, but you can still vor for Mitt, he will get the job done!
updates in an hour or so to come.
@ Shady: We're still waiting for your entrance :) (while the others are still in the tomb, we can already start your adventuring in Kaer Maga proper)
Shady, yeah I've had CTS since I was 16. Some days are worse than others but I do my best to stretch them out regularly and to wear my braces at night. My right hand is far worse than my left, but so far I've opted to not do the surgery. I don't feel like it's to that point yet where I want to risk making things even worse. I think the worst part for me with CTS is the general lack of strength, and the spasms. I can be holding something and then suddenly, with absolutely no warning and no intention on my part, my hand will just let go of it. This is super scary when it comes to my kid who thinks I'm a jungle gym and have super human strength. Of course the pain, tingling, itching, burning and swelling isn't too cool either. Point of note, I have to concentrate really hard to use a pencil these days.
A quick update people (and an apology too, specially to Zyren).
Spoiled:
I had been working on the character sheet and backstory for my character for about three days, and got to the point where I had its sheet (complete with two different animal companions' sheets, including tricks, skills and the whatnot), background and description all typed up using the forum formatting. All I needed was to decide on a name (always one of the hardest parts for me) and an avatar for its profile (I had been combing the images trying to find a perfect one).
Then my computer crashed. The HD was apparently flawed in some way (probably scratched a bit by all the travelling) and I've sent it away. Thing is all that stuff up there was sitting on my desktop on a neat word file. Aaaand it's gone.
If I have to remake it all, I'd rather just make another character from scratch, possibly salvaging a few nuts and bolts (mainly some plot hooks) from the previous one. So if you would still have me, I'd like to work on a tiefling magus, bringing some melee capability and buffs for the party, though I'll understand if either the race or class doesn't fit into your campaign as you see it. I'll wait for your green (or red) light to start on it, I appreciate your attention anyways.
@ Rune: No worries...this is the most laid-back place of all on this forums, take your time and start again. We have been here for years, we won't go away...never...harhar
I am going to log off early tonight, as for various reasons I didn't have more then 8 hours of sleep since sunday morning, making me a bit tense and and a bit woozy at the same time. I'd rather not post anymore than post anything I might find irritating the next morning ;-)
Does anyone have any idea how the Variant Tiefling Abilities work? The character has to spend a feat to roll in the table, he rolls normally or he gets the feat and chooses the ability? I'm kindda lost on this one.
