As Mobo moves on, he suddenly hears a thundering noise, then a muffled cry of pain and at last the whizzing of magical energy.
Quickly he scurries forward and is surprised to see a blonde woman in wintery gear throwing rays of fiery energy at a massive yeti who towers over the bloody corpse of a man in knightly armour!
The yeti seems rather unimpressed and the frantic look on the woman's face makes you think that she won't be able to put up much of a fight
Jezbazeel Ruckskal |
The blue haired girl looks at the others before turning to Attalas: If you hear me shout, pull the rope. The cold should not affect me, but it sounds like King Mobo is doing target practice.
With that, Jez climbs into the hole to see what mischievous goblin is up to.
DM Zyren / Heart of Journeys |
The bullet hits the yeti squarely between the eyes...dumbfounded the massive furry creature looks at Mobo and pokes a finger into the small hole in its forehead
You make me ouch! You friend?
The blonde woman has meanwhile run behind a large ice boulder and shouts
Goblin! Be careful, the yeti has tremendous strength!
Jez needs two rounds to reach Mobo - anyone else following her?
Jezbazeel Ruckskal |
Oh, he is not all that scary. Heck, the little blue haired girl is stronger than him. (And every so often might revert to the upbringing that her mother intended for her.)

The yeti relaxes a bit and cracks his knuckles
Bugbear? Pah...I have bugbears for breakfast! I'm also a king...uh....uh yes...uh King....ah yes, King Yeti...King Yeti the second!
the monster beams proudly at you and while his attention is completely directed towards you, the blonde woman quickly hurries away...
I friend of great Jarl, I help him kill people in Maze and I watch over funny globe thing!
Jezbazeel Ruckskal |
The blue haired girl keeps crawling through the icy passage, apparently oblivious to the fact that others would find the cold ice uncomfortable.
Jezbazeel Ruckskal |
Jez crawls from the ice and sees Mobo in a deep conversation with a rather large white creature.
King Mobo? Are you okay?
Mobo Bang-Dead |
Mobo turns, his balooned head filled with a grin, "This is King Yeti the Second, much more powerful than First King Yeti. Friend of Yarl," Mobo turns back towards the snowy creature. "This is Jez, my viceroy. Viceroy fancy word for talker."
"King Yeti guards globe-thing, and also scared away a yellow-haired lady."
Jezbazeel Ruckskal |
Jez bows her head: It is my pleasure to meet you wise King Yeti the Second. You were brave to scare away this yellow haired woman. You must be very powerful to be tasked with guarding the globe-thing.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
DM Zyren / Heart of Journeys |
Flattered by the viceroy's aka talker's kind words, the yeti smiles and grabs the lifeless armoured form to his feet
He was friend of yellow-haired manling, he weak sauce and not put up a fight, I good guardian...heh...uh...what did I want to say...uh...ah yes, I need viceroy too! King Mobo, you have more of these viceroys with you? We can trade: Viceroy versus globe and then we kill Jarl and I will be Emperor Yeti the third!
Jezbazeel Ruckskal |
Jex looks down at Mobo and raises an eyebrow uncertain of what transpired in the conversation prior to her crawling from the icy passage.
Bluff to Mobo(send message): What he is saying.
Bluff: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
Mobo Bang-Dead |
"King Yeti friend of Jarl, kill people in ice maze and look after funny globe. King Yeti the second sees that King Mobo knows how things work and wants to be better King, so if King Yeti gets a viceroy, we get funny globe then we help King Yeti kill Jarl and rule over ice maze for all the evers!" Turning back towards KYII, "Can't let viceroys get too smart, then they think they not replaceable."
Looking at the corpse, "Yellow hairs no threat to King Yeti. He King Yeti Blonde Breaker."
Jezbazeel Ruckskal |
Jez looks back to KYII: King Yeti, can you lead us back to the other side of this tunnel? King Mobo's bodyguard is there and is too large for the tunnel. Then you can show us the orb so that we can eliminate the Jarl and you shall become King, no Emperor, of the whole glacier.
DM Zyren / Heart of Journeys |
Good! You king Mobo can rule your own demesne when I'm emperor. King Yet II says and gives Mobo a soft pat on the back that catapults him at least five feet forward.
It takes about half an hour to make the way back to the place where King Mobo's host has waited and as soon as their leader appears (accompanied by a new monstrous follower) the goblins begin to cheer and dance happily...or the grotesque parody of it...

Gnobbler:
Scrawny but quite tough with beady red eyes and a long hooked nose. Constantly speaks about the "dark fire" that will consume those "dammit elvez". Bad warrior but for a goblin good strategist.
Brutulus:
More hobgoblin than goblin. Tall, quite muscled and knows how to swing his two-handed club. A bit stupid though and knows only the direct approach to any problem.
Mipsy:
Small and sneaky, very clever, but a coward to the heart. Likes to use poisons, deceit and everything tricky. Has a weird soft spot for baby rabbits...
These three look like the cream of your crop...
Jezbazeel Ruckskal |
Jez just smiles at Mobo's direction and leadership. She then turns and makes a pronouncement to the rest of the assembled group.
All, we must find this globe and then we seek out the Jarl. Lets go, together we will conquer this place and then King Yeti the Second shall become Emperor Yeti the Third, ruler of the ice and lord of the goblins . . . and bugbears. His shall be a land where goblins and bugbears can pillage and loot without pesky human interference.
Jez then raises her hand in a cheer.
All praise King Mobo and King Yeti the Second. RARARA!!!!!

Yes! Kill all humans!...and elves!...and dwarfs!...and gnomes!...and halflings!...and half-elves!...and half-dwarfs!...and half-gnomes!...and uh...half-halflings!
the goblin crowd cheers and gets battle-ready (toad-licking).
King Yeti the Second takes the lead of the host and guides you to the centre of the icy maze. Together you enter an irregularly shaped cavern that stretches nearly two hundred feet long and nearly as wide. A roof of blue luminescent ice arches fifty feet overhead and is held aloft by three stone pillars. Entrance on foot is halted by a hot spring that stretches across the cave's mouth. Two more pools are nestled on either side of the cavern.
In contrast to the rest of the prison, the air in this room is temperate, except above the hot pools where its is uncomfortably hot and humid.
At the centre of the room, beyond the hot pools, you can make out a gigantic load of gold and treasures. The hoard is displayed in open coffers or carefully arranged in large piles of stunning wealth.
Jezbazeel Ruckskal |
Jez looks at the big ogre and then to the Yeti: Is this the Jarl's horde? Where are the guards?
Jez attempts to disbelieve the gold and jewels thinking they must be illusions.
Will-disbelieve: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Map of the room, so that you can clarify how to get where :) had to put the map into a word file...
The treasures seem to be F*cking real!
The yeti looks at Jez and shrugs
Me was guard... he scratches his head and looks a bit sad Me no good guard, mhm? but then he quickly smiles again Me will be better emperor than guard!
Jezbazeel Ruckskal |
Jez nods at King Yeti the Second. Yes, but how do people get into the cave?
Jez walks to the edge of the pool and reaches down to see how hot the water is.
Fire Resistance 5
Jezbazeel Ruckskal |
Well, how does the Jarl get into the cave? If Emperor Yeti the Third is going to replace the Jarl as ruler of the ice, then Emperor Yeti must be able to get to the treasure.
Jezbazeel Ruckskal |
Jex listens to King Yeti the Second and just shakes her head: No, I do not think we have enough goblins, and the water is so hot they would probably melt while we were in the treasure room. Then we would not have any more goblins to get out of there.
How about big rocks? Or trees we could use as a bridge? Or how does the Jarl get in? I am sure that he does not bring a bunch of goblins each time.
Jez attempts to look just a serious as the Yeti.
