The moth ignores the bolt that whistles past one of its wings - [ooc]Allowed to fly away or is Ragnvald still planning something nasty?[/b]

male Half-Elf Wizard 6

Since the wretched moth creature is out of range for Kostis Acid Splash he has no choice but to let it go.

Female Tiefling - Demon Spawn Fighter(Lore Warden)/2 - Oracle(Lore)/1 - Sorcerer(Crossblooded-Draconic(gold)/Orc)/2 - Dragon Disciple/1 [HP 52/52; AC18,T13,FF15; F+5,R+6,W+5; Per+7; Init +2]

Perhaps this is a good time for the flying goblin sharpshooter. Attalas can toss Mobo at the moth and see if super-goblin can bring it down.

HP: 142/165 AC:32 FF:29 T:17 F:16 R:18 W:20 Init:+4 Percep:+28

Ragnvald cries in anger. "COWARD!"

With a muttered prayer to Gorum Ragnvald materializes a massive greatsword of force and hurls it at the giant insect.

Cast Spiritual Weapon.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Maybe Gorum didn't pay attention, maybe moths are just not worth it, anyway, the weapon misses the gigantic rotten insect, which slowly hovers away...

Female Tiefling - Demon Spawn Fighter(Lore Warden)/2 - Oracle(Lore)/1 - Sorcerer(Crossblooded-Draconic(gold)/Orc)/2 - Dragon Disciple/1 [HP 52/52; AC18,T13,FF15; F+5,R+6,W+5; Per+7; Init +2]

Come back here you worthless grub!!!!!!

Now that the moth monster has fled, you have time to check what has lured this abomination to the road. The carcasses of seven deer are piled up here. Arrow shafts are still protruding from their bodies and Kosti can identify these as being used by the Red Raven and his band.

Attalas smiles as the moth leaves, then the smile slowly dissipates...

"Now whats Mobo gonna eat?"

Attalas continues to follw the others.

HP: 142/165 AC:32 FF:29 T:17 F:16 R:18 W:20 Init:+4 Percep:+28

Pulling a knife Ragnvald snatches up one of the deer and quickly cleans it.

"A wretched waste. Mobo can have the guts if he's interested. Or the roasted meat later."

So how many pounds of venison can we get from one of these things? We have ogre to feed.

Male Ogre HP:72/72, - AC: 20/T:12/FF:17 - Perception: +2(Dark Vision) F: +12/R: +3/W: +0 - CMB: +13 - CMD: 27, Speed: 30ft, Init: +5 Warrior 1/Fighter 4

Attalas looks at all the deers, then his face lights back up again.

"Can we have a big fire to cook em on?"

@Mobo:

You follow the trail around the next turn - a strange sight appears before you: There are at least half a dozen large der bodies lying on the path. Since they have already begun to putrefy, the stench here is almost breathtaking. The bigger problem though is that the stench has lured a gigantic carrion moth out of its lair. The monster feasts on the carrion and you guess it will not like anyone who interrupts it...

Jez is rather confused that Ragnvald is attempting to gather food from the putrefying venison, but simply shrugs knowing that she can make it edible.

And this is why I took Purify Food and Drink.

HP: 142/165 AC:32 FF:29 T:17 F:16 R:18 W:20 Init:+4 Percep:+28

I simply memorized. Cause I'm a cleric. And can change out my spells. Behold my terrifying versatility. OOOOOooooOOOOOOO

If you purify all the remaining venison than it is easily enough for like 200 rations.

Looking at the Ulfen hacking away at the dead beasts together with the hungry looks from the goblin and ogre, Jez slides back her sleeves and begins to call upon whatever strange power has granted her the ability to make food, even that which has begun to putrefy, edible.

Mobo stands inside a deer, his boots slick with gore as he excavates with his dogslicer, handing entrails and flanks to those who want to waste their efforts in making things 'edible.'

Jez smiles: Thank you Mobo, this is almost as good as the grubs you gave me the other day.

She then cheerfully takes a bite of whatever internal organ was handed to her.

Kosti, we need you to tell this bunch of maniacs to move on

Female Tiefling - Demon Spawn Fighter(Lore Warden)/2 - Oracle(Lore)/1 - Sorcerer(Crossblooded-Draconic(gold)/Orc)/2 - Dragon Disciple/1 [HP 52/52; AC18,T13,FF15; F+5,R+6,W+5; Per+7; Init +2]

But we cannot move on until we have made sure that these dead and mostly decomposed corpses are not going to follow us. What better way than to have the demon, the goblin and the ogre suck the marrow out of their bones. We are just trying to be thorough to make sure we do leave any rotting . . . I mean loose . . . ends.

"This is the best job I've had!" the big Ogre beams.

"So whats going on, why this guy so tricky? How many frends he have if so many arrows?"

male Half-Elf Wizard 6

Hurry up - we better not leave him enough time to set up more surprises!

Behind the carrion trap, the forest becomes friendlier again. You follow the road until you reach a river in the afternoon, it's about 50 feet across. Silvery fish swim in the lee of a fallen tree that reaches nearly to the middle of the stream. Asmall way downstream, a narrow walkway hangs suspended over the water by thick ropes. The suspension bridge rises to a height of thrity feet over the banks, but drops down to a scant ten feet over the river in the center of the crossing . The varying age and poor quality of materials suggests that the bridge has been repaired intermittently over the past years.

HP: 142/165 AC:32 FF:29 T:17 F:16 R:18 W:20 Init:+4 Percep:+28

"So which do you think is trapped this time the bridge or the tree?"

How deep is the stream in the middle?

Divine Gamemaster of the Abyss and below...

About 12ft

HP: 142/165 AC:32 FF:29 T:17 F:16 R:18 W:20 Init:+4 Percep:+28

About how tall is Attalas?

Female Tiefling - Demon Spawn Fighter(Lore Warden)/2 - Oracle(Lore)/1 - Sorcerer(Crossblooded-Draconic(gold)/Orc)/2 - Dragon Disciple/1 [HP 52/52; AC18,T13,FF15; F+5,R+6,W+5; Per+7; Init +2]

I look at the trees.

Attalas, you think we could take down a few trees and make our own bridge?

Male Ogre HP:72/72, - AC: 20/T:12/FF:17 - Perception: +2(Dark Vision) F: +12/R: +3/W: +0 - CMB: +13 - CMD: 27, Speed: 30ft, Init: +5 Warrior 1/Fighter 4

Atty is only 10'

"Reckon they probably got a troll hidden in the water under the bridge and he'll rob us as we cross. Everyone knows trolls live under bridges. He's just a troll good at holding his breath" Attalas looks smug and smart, like he's not gonna be tricked!

"I can go across, just a short swim..." Attalas begins removing his armour and asks Mobo to get a rope. Whilst he is certainly genuine in his desire to help the party, the glee in his eyes at the thought of a frolic in the river seems to suggest he also thinks its play time.

HP: 142/165 AC:32 FF:29 T:17 F:16 R:18 W:20 Init:+4 Percep:+28

You can probably stand on your tippy toes and wade across. Seriously.

Male Ogre HP:72/72, - AC: 20/T:12/FF:17 - Perception: +2(Dark Vision) F: +12/R: +3/W: +0 - CMB: +13 - CMD: 27, Speed: 30ft, Init: +5 Warrior 1/Fighter 4

Yep, or just bounce along

I figured you could knock down a half dozen trees and make our own bridge. We are in a forest after all.

HP: 142/165 AC:32 FF:29 T:17 F:16 R:18 W:20 Init:+4 Percep:+28

Might take too long. And it's 50 ft. across. Easier if he waded to the end of the tree tied a rope to the end and we just went across that way with the guided rope to keep us from sinking or being dragged down stream. Go one at a time so the totallynotanambush only gets to shoot at one of us rather than all of us and we're golden.

Mobo scours around for loose rope, checking the packs of his companions if he cannot find any nearby.

Female Tiefling - Demon Spawn Fighter(Lore Warden)/2 - Oracle(Lore)/1 - Sorcerer(Crossblooded-Draconic(gold)/Orc)/2 - Dragon Disciple/1 [HP 52/52; AC18,T13,FF15; F+5,R+6,W+5; Per+7; Init +2]

I look across the river for a large tree. Once I spot one, I turn to Attalas.

If we tied two or three lengths of rope to a large stone, could you throw it over and get it tangled in the tree? Then Mobo could climb across and secure the far side.

There are more than enough large trees and boulders around - so if Attalas has any skill with a lasso, he can try his luck.

Male Ogre HP:72/72, - AC: 20/T:12/FF:17 - Perception: +2(Dark Vision) F: +12/R: +3/W: +0 - CMB: +13 - CMD: 27, Speed: 30ft, Init: +5 Warrior 1/Fighter 4

Attack 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Attalas tries roping one of the boulders...

And throws it as far as he can...huge muscles bulge, but the stone falls about 5m too short. So a rope bridge is established, but you will have to wade the last metres to the other side.

Female Tiefling - Demon Spawn Fighter(Lore Warden)/2 - Oracle(Lore)/1 - Sorcerer(Crossblooded-Draconic(gold)/Orc)/2 - Dragon Disciple/1 [HP 52/52; AC18,T13,FF15; F+5,R+6,W+5; Per+7; Init +2]

I say next time we throw the goblin, I bet he could have made it and caught a branch with ease.

HP: 142/165 AC:32 FF:29 T:17 F:16 R:18 W:20 Init:+4 Percep:+28

Ragnvald bends down by the river. "It looks as if Attalas could jsut wade across."

Male Ogre HP:72/72, - AC: 20/T:12/FF:17 - Perception: +2(Dark Vision) F: +12/R: +3/W: +0 - CMB: +13 - CMD: 27, Speed: 30ft, Init: +5 Warrior 1/Fighter 4

Attalas agrees, and after stripping off most of his armour he starts heading across the river, sword in hand.

"I are too heavy for a ropey bridge anyway, would only bust on me as I crossed"

male Half-Elf Wizard 6

Be careful, though. Considering what surprises he left us up to now, I would not be surprised to find something dastardly in that river!

As Attalas has crossed about half of the distance, he suddenly notices a flash of silver and then his right leg hurts

Damage1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Looking down he realizes that he has been surrounded by several very large pikes!

Female Tiefling - Demon Spawn Fighter(Lore Warden)/2 - Oracle(Lore)/1 - Sorcerer(Crossblooded-Draconic(gold)/Orc)/2 - Dragon Disciple/1 [HP 52/52; AC18,T13,FF15; F+5,R+6,W+5; Per+7; Init +2]

Attalas was attacked by pikes;
Big and silvery, scarry yikes;
But do not fear;
Help is near;
The party will save his rear.

male Half-Elf Wizard 6

Unless he has experienced this spell going bad when cast into a watery enviroment, Kosti will target one of the pikes with an acid splash.

attack 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17 damage 1d3 ⇒ 3

If he knows the spell would go bad, all he can do for now is getting out his crossbow trying to hit a pike (as hard as that might be) the next round.

Male Ogre HP:72/72, - AC: 20/T:12/FF:17 - Perception: +2(Dark Vision) F: +12/R: +3/W: +0 - CMB: +13 - CMD: 27, Speed: 30ft, Init: +5 Warrior 1/Fighter 4

"HEY THERES SOME FISH AND THEY ARE REALLY BIG AND TASTY LOOKIN!"

Attalas stabs down with his sword

Attack 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 28
Damage 3d6 + 12 ⇒ (2, 5, 4) + 12 = 23

CLEAVE If possible
Attack 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27
Damage 3d6 + 12 ⇒ (1, 2, 5) + 12 = 20

Attalas kills two of the massive pikes with his greatsword while Kosti hurts another - the rest of the small swarm realizes quickly that the monstrous sword-swinging newcomer is surely no easy meal and so they flee as quickly as possible. Attalas then has no problems in establishing the rope bridge.

Acrobatics DC 12 to cross the river using the bridge

Was hopping just to pull myself across (pikes be damned). Ragnvald's not a dextrous fellow.

male Half-Elf Wizard 6

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Kosti, steps on the rope with grace, but once he reaches the spot where Attalas was attacked, he takes a little too much time glancing at the water below, seemingly nervous of pikes jumping up or some tricks the Raven might have played - loosing his pose, falling into the river below.
