Alcheringa lets the creatures pass, maintaining his guard as he does so.

"Let us see what these creatures were guarding, or whom"

Alcheringa begins a slow methodical search of the crypt.

"Strange. I wouldn't have expected them to leave us unmolested." Elsbeth said, confusion evident on her face. "But if the danger has passed, perhaps we will find something of interest here."

Elsbeth joins in on the search, relying on her finely-honed senses to find anything of interest.

Alexite gives a friendly wave to the shadows as they pass. 'See? They are very peaceful shadows.' Shaking his head in disbelief and muttering to himself, 'Gods know why...'

Alexite will begin detecting magic and very slowly searching the crypt. Take 20 on perception, 23

Now that we see the whole crypt, I realize what I thought was a fountain was actually the spillway for the rivulet coming from the actual fountain at the lower end of the map.

Alexite:

After the shadows have left, a pleasant shiver crawls up and down your spine. It feels like nails or teeth are nibbling at your skin, then suddenly you feel a stabbing pain in your chest, which passes after a whiff.

Together with the pain came a faint voice, mocking you (in shadowtongue):

Well done puny human, gon on like this and you will know pleasures and rewards you couldn't imagine no matter how hard you tried.

You gain 2 Prestige Award within the Church of Zon Kuthon

Just as you start spreading out and searching the tomb, Alexite clutches both hands to his heart area, he staggers, then regains his stand, pale as a winter wolf.

Torald looks at Alexite
Did you get hurt, Alexite? I didn't noticed any of the ghouls reached you.

Torald looks around in the crypt, but he won't disrupt the quiet of the dead (if anything of it is left).

Take 20 on perception, 21

Male Human (Chelaxian) Bard/2

Alexite looks over to Torald. 'Someone walked over my grave.'

Your search of the crypt unearthes the following:

I assume everyone who searched took twenty, since half of the party would have been idle otherwise. Since Nox wasn't online by now I assume she would have taken part in the search too. Check your XP, first character has reached 2nd level. By now you got only the XP for killing the ghouls. Quest XP will be given once you return to the temple.

Alcheringa:

Under a pile of corpses, assumably stolen from other graves of the cemetary, you discover an exotic looking bronze bracelet (depicting two intertwined jaguars), which was obviously some kind of burial object.

Alexite:

In one of the alcoves, where a pile of rotten caskets was piled up, you discover a pouch with 200 gold pieces.

Esfana:

Searching the ghouls you find a silver ring with a dedication "My strong arm will always be at your side"

Elsbeth:

Under a loose floor plate you discover a dagger radiating a faint red light. Its cross guard is shaped like an eagle and its pommel is crested with the a strange rune.

Torald:

Under a rotten casket in a dark alcove you discovera pouch with:

1 small green gem
2 medium red gems
1 large blue gem

Nox:

You discover the half eaten body of some kind of arcanist (which you assume because of his tattoos). He is stripped of most valuables but still carries his spellbook with him, containing the following:

LVL 0

All cantrips

LVL 1

Magic Missile
Color Spray
Mount
Identify
Sleep

Alcheringa will 'detect Magic' on the bracelet, who knows - could be cursed! If it IS magic, Spellcraft Check 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 6 + 2 = 26

Alcheringa wanders over to the Cleric and the Paladin, holding a strange braclet, he has a curious look on his face, as though expecting a challenge...

"Iomedites, I have found this while going through the crypt... it looks out of place, so I assume it has been dropped here from elsewhere, and I intend on keeping it. I know your ways sometimes frown on taking items from such places, but my ways don't... nature only asks for our flesh and bones to be returned to her bosom at the end of our lives, not our posessions. Do you voice concern?"

Female Chelexian Transmuter (Ban illusion/enchantment)

yes, i would have taken part of the search. it's pretty hard to motivate yourself to get online when you are sick. so far, i have a stuffy nose, constant headaches, and some severely annoying stomach problems.

I have no problems with finding things in such a place. The only hing I have to insist on, is that you pay tribute to the dead and don't disrupt their quiet.
When I remember correctly, we said that each of us should get a fair share of anything we find. I have fount this small pouch with gems.

Female Human ( Varisian) Cleric lvl 2 ( Iomedae )

"No problems here too, and i also found this ring. It has this dedication -my strong arm will always be at your side- what does this mean? Whom it belonged to ?"

Alexite rejoins his companions holding up a sack. 'Here is a sack of gold.' He also detects magic on the items that the others have found just to know if they are magical.

Is the crossguard the outstreched wings? In that case, I have a friend with a dagger just like that!

Elsbeth shows the others the clearly magical dagger she had discovered. "This is a pretty thing!" She said, hefting the dagger in her hand, testing its weight and balance. "Is there any chance any of you could tell me what it does? Aside from glow, I mean."

Alcheringa, Nox has a book. Esfana has the ring. :P

Because after I went: "Huh? A book?", I looked at the spoils - the first one I hit was Nox's, and I saw she scored a book. That's how I know. And no, I don't generally look at spoilers - I was just confused...

Female Chelexian Transmuter (Ban illusion/enchantment)

Nox indeed does show up with a book in her hands. there was a half eaten man i found, he had this book in his possession. she shows the group the spell selection of the deceased wizard and says i find the spell selection to be rather dissapointing. only one of these spells is worthy of even being written on a scroll. most of the others are short lived benefits at best.

Alcheringa:

As you identify the magic nature of the bracelet you understand that actually these are two bracers. At the point where the panthers "meet" the bracelet can pe parted to have two half bracers that magically close around one's arm when worn.

Barcers of Armor +1

The ring Esfana found is:

Ring of Minor Prowess

Aura: moderate transmutation; CL 5th

Slot: ring; Weight /.; Price 2,000 gp

Benefit: Strength +1 Enhancement Bonus (24h of wearing before bonus works).

The dagger Elsbeth found is:

Soaring Eagle's Talon

Aura: moderate transmutation CL: 5th

Slot: weapon; Weight 1lb.; Price 5,000 gp

Benefit: Weapon +1, once per day wielder can cast Eagle's Splendor on herself, by saying "To the sky and into the sun". (CL 5)

The faint red glowing is rather comsmetic and does not shed enough light to see more than things directly adjacent to the dagger.

@ Elsbeth, exactly, that's the way it looks.

Male Elf Druid 7 HP:64/64, - AC: 18/T:14/FF:14 - Perception: +15(Low Light) F: +5/R: +6/W: +8 - CMB: +10 - CMD: 23, Speed:30ft, Init: +6

Alcheringa reveals the nature of the items to their respective finders after divining their purpose.

"Our work here is done, what has been asked of us has been attended, the earth now reclaims the bodies she is owed"

Alcheringa turns, ready to go back to the temple.

Male Human (Chelaxian) Bard/2

Alexite petulantly sighs. 'About time. This place is dull and dreary, dampening my enthusiastic gently charming self.' He begins to head for the stairs.

Female Human ( Varisian) Cleric lvl 2 ( Iomedae )

Esfana follows Alexite quite exausted but happy for the job outcome.

"You forgot your unbelievable modesty Alexite"

Male Human (Chelaxian) Bard/2

'I never forget my unusually grand modesty. It is good that you remember it, too.'

Delighted to know about her latest acquisition, Elsbeth tucked it into one of her various sheaths, the spare normal blade vanishing up a sleeve.

"I'm so glad you didn't forget it." She said, sarcasm dripping from her voice. "If you had, I'm sure your company would be absolutely unbearable. As it stands, I only have a mild desire to shut you up." She smiled at him, leaving no doubt in anyone's mind that 'shut you up' was probably a euphamism for 'kill you'.

Glad to leave the crypt, Elsbeth kept the group company as they headed back into town proper.

Male Human (Chelaxian) Bard/2

Alexite looks over at the rogue. Smiling, he says, 'If you want me, just say so, my dear. Beig coy really is pedantic.'

Female Human ( Varisian) Cleric lvl 2 ( Iomedae )

"Beware not to address to him too often Elsbeth, or you'll never be able to get rid of him"

Male Human (Chelaxian) Bard/2

'Aren't you just the cutest little green eyed monster?' Let me know if that doesn't translate

Female Chelexian Transmuter (Ban illusion/enchantment)

Nox looks towards Alexite; are you ready for that physical examination? yesterday, you promised to be my test subject! i do not need to rent a labratory for this experiment , a simulated domestic enviroment should suffice for now.

Alcheringa looks curious, almost...perplexed. He looks intently at Elsbeth with a slightly bemused expression.

As he walks, he resumes his conversation with Blaze...

"How extraordinary, just by being partly human, she finds herself drawn into the peacocks mating ritual, see how he need only shake his plumage and how readily the hen responds - becoming so swiftly one of his harem"

His look at Alexite is one of a game keeper admiring a predator in the wild.

Alexite catches Alcheringa looking at him. He winks to the elf and blows him a kiss.

It translated fine. :)

"His harem!?" She exclaimed, confusion crossing his face. "I can assure you, cousin, that the only way such a self-obsessed miscreant is getting anywhere near me is when I'm cutting his purse-strings, or driving a blade through his heart. Men like Alexite disgust me."

She eyed Torald for a moment before continuing. "Now Torald here - he's much more my type. Strong, unassuming, doesn't feel the need to show off every five seconds, humble. And he's easy on the eyes, to boot. Are you taking notes, Alexite? You should be."

Male Human (Chelaxian) Bard/2
Elsbeth Corlas wrote:

Actually that was to Esfana, but I realize now that I didn't specify, so why shouldn't you both think it was for each of you. =D

Alexite listens to Elsbeth as she goes on about Torald. 'You are absolutely correct, dear girl, on every count. Mmmmm, Torald is doing the same for me. Sooner or later he'll succumb to my charms, too.'

"Hmmm then you bear the hallmark of both parents; in the wild, Torald being the stronger buck would normally draw the greater share of mates, as is the natural order, he fought strongly and is the more robust specimen - yet your human instincts instead draw the hens here to the brightly coloured peacock, and although you claim some disgust, I have observed that disgust and attraction exist on the same plane of interactions... both cause you to occupy your thoughts with the subject"

Alcheringa resumes his non-chalant and indifferent air, and goes back to casually pacing and obseving the world around him.

Roll just one perception roll and then choose one of the boxes whose DC you passed. (the district is far too noisy, chaotic, vivid and dangerous to walk around like a tourist and stand gaping.)

Perception DC 20:

You spot a lumbering troll carries his intestinals in his hands while mumbling some strange arcane-sounding phrases.

Perception DC 20:

You see a group of men standing together, all of them have their mouth stitched up. They make strange signs to another and seem to be quarreling about something.

Perception DC 15:

A group of Duskwardens has surrounded an ogre who holds a crying human child in his arms.

Perception DC 25:

There are two unmistakenly undead "girls" standing at a street corner asking passers-by if they were interested in spending a night with them.

Perception DC 20:

A palanquin is carried across the street next to you, as the curtains open for a moment you see that a black snake-like creature sits in it.

Male Human (Chelaxian) Bard/2

Alexite looks puzzled for a moment at Elsbeth's comment. 'You do a disservice to yourself, lady. Age on a woman is as with a fine wine. As a woman ages, she develops a wonderful flavor that is complex in the depth of it's myriad undertones and subtext. A mature woman becomes a rare vintage to be savored for it's full body; ever expanding richness that finally culminates in...'

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21

Noticing the palanquin moving through the crowd, Alexite rudely interrupts himself as he angles for a view of it's occupant. Ah, Torald, there is a woman custom made for you after all. One who shares your temperament and passion. I dare say, do not let her just slither off into the crowd.'

At his words, Elsbeth pinched the bridge of her nose, frowning as she did so. "Alexite, just stop. Unless you want to be wooing women with a broken jaw, just shut up."

Amazingly, he did.

Perception ->1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10

Not seeing this palanquin, Elsbeth frowned. "It never ceases to amaze me how you can go from insulting on person, to insulting another - in practically the same breath." She said, sounding somewhat peeved.

"Torald, pay him no heed. He is a small-minded man who must belittle others in order to inflate his apparent self worth. Pity him, don't hate him."
