i'm fine with you keeping track. Sounds like a plan to me. It's nice having some one willing to do that. Normally in my home games, they leave all that up to the GM (me).
I'm fine with Runa having the hairpin. After we have gone back and gotten the treasure chest and divided up the gold in it (and sold the chest itself), I'll post again with a final value for the items sold. In addition, since Omara is the one who traded in the stars, I didn't include their value in the first loot-splitting post, and considering that she needs a suit of armor that fits her a little better, I'd be alright with her keeping the store credit for herself.
Was I able to see Ameiko in the Dragon? I am supposed to make Charisma checks to get the bonus from my NPC trait, but I suppose it doesn't matter most of the time. How do you want to handle that, DM Wellard?
I'll say Ameiko is always available for that purpose..otherwise the trait becomes a bit redundant till the caravan starts..
you can make the check if you wish but taking 10 on your Charisma check will suceeed..Tavlors just conciously turns on the charm and Ameiko pays attention.
Wait a tick...Namuril is leaving us? Is that what the spoilered post was about?
Also, DM Wellard, do you want us to play out getting that treasure chest and carrying it somewhere to sell or do you want us to skip ahead to getting back to Savah's?

I actually thought you would be holding onto the chest yourselves..there was no real reason to store it in the Garrison Office
You might have described it better and I am missing it but how big is this chest? Is this a smaller version that could be carried under arm or something that you would need to heft in front of you by the sides?
Just wanted to add to my comment earlier about being busy, that I'm still massively excited about this AP, and think everyone is doing a great job with these characters.
Sorry to double post, but I had a quick question about the relationships. I'm not sure what benefits they might add later on, and I have been under the impression that we can have relationships with any of the NPCs, but I was wondering what everyone had planned for their characters, as I don't want to step on anyone's toes, or if we are in competition, I wouldn't mind knowing that either ;). I don't want anyone to be annoyed by it, though, so if anyone doesn't like the direction Tavlor goes, please let me know.
Tavlor is definitely going to pursue a close friendship and romantic relationship with Ameiko, although, as with all childhood crushes, he may get close and find it's not a relationship he wants to be that close. That will depend a lot on the NPC.
He is also going to try to get a rivalry going with Shandru. The guide seemed to suggest Shandru and Ameiko were close friends, and Tavlor is going to be jealous of that. Also, I'm interested in how the AP is going to deal with rivalries. I'm looking forward to meeting him so I can craft a good insult ;).
All that said, DM Wellard, or anyone else, if you have a problem with anything I roleplay, I am more than willing to change :).

I had a vague notion of friends with most of the initial Sandpoint group, with Koya Mavashti being the primary person I connect with. We'll see if that comes through. I know there are more folks later who seem like more "organic" options to go further into other relationships with (in either direction) as Zaladrel has been coming to Sandpoint for a few years now and is probably neither romantically or negatively aligned against them...
Úlf's primary interest presently is Shalelu; most of that is the serious crush he developed when he first saw her upon getting to Sandpoint when he was 15. She was the first elf he'd ever seen and a lot of how hard he's been trying to turn himself into a warrior worthy of the Ulfen name goes back to hoping he can draw her eye the way she drew his. He doesn't really know that much about her; the kinds of things that are common knowledge among Sandpointers and what he's been able to glean from questions asked about her when it wouldn't make his intentions too obvious. With the Sheriff's approval of him, it may be the confidence boost Úlf needed to prove his worth as a man and a warrior and be at least a little more active in his attempt at courtship.
As far as the chest goes, I don't think it ultimately matters if we carried it with us or if we left it at the watchhouse. The question now is simply one of what are we gonna do with it? I'm fine with Runa using a Mending to make it worth more to a buyer and then pawning it before hitting the weapon store.

I'm kind of a play-it-by-ear roleplayer. I know my character's personality and beliefs, and I have a little bit of idea of where I want to go with her. I judge each situation with these factors in mind and then apply the character's own experience, then have the character react accordingly. In the past, this has taken characters in directions I had not expected, and I'd learn something new about my own character! This is when I am having the most fun!
As far as relationships go, I originally created Omara to end up with a close relationship with Ameiko. However, some other NPC (or maybe even PC) might snag her attention before it's over. One way or another, once she gets to know him better, she intends to tease Tavlor mercilessly. But that, too, could change.
I'm all for selling the chest. Sure we could keep it and put our extra stuff in it, but someone would have to lug it around.

I initially crafted Lissa with the intent to pursue either close friendship/romance with Ameiko. The more I play her, though, I don't see that being her goal. With the initial four NPC's mentioned in the Player's Guide, she seems more likely to lean towards Sandru for that purpose. Unless some other NPC on the way catches her attention. And as I said earlier, I do see Lissa as being that go-to friend for advice when all these romances start going in her direction.
I knew Omara was a potential rival, and I think her teasing of Tavlor is an entirely enjoyable experience :). Lissa too, is a perfectliy reasonable rival.
Those two relationships in mind, there is no reason we can't all be friends, and mutually share friendship/devotion with Ameiko. By no means do I intend to take the central role in that relationship at the expense of other PCs.
The chest is in fact quite sound..no repairs necessary but a bit of cleaning up via Prestidigitation might be in order. If none of you can cast it then Ameiko can do it.
I was reading up on the levels of relationship and Tavlor now gets +1 on all Charisma based skills as long as Ameiko is alive.
Sorry, I wasn't around yesterday. Just trying to catch up. We're split now, some left the dragon, some at the cathedral? We haven't repaired the chest, or sold anything yet?

Pretty much. Wasn't a whole lot going on yesterday. If Tavlor doesn't know a prestidigitation spell to clean the chest up, we'll probably go straight back to the Dragon to get the chest cleaned up all spiffy.

Just wondering Wellard. Lissa has become a bit different through play than I initially imagined her. The more I play her, the more I see her as a follower of Shelyn rather than Cayden Cailean. I initially pictured her as the type to hang out at the tavern to hear all the adventure stories and because it made her feel more adventurous herself. I don't feel like that's true anymore. Since her faith hasn't come up in play yet, is it okay with you if I change her deity?
I have no trouble with that at all..in fact there might be a chance for a younger Lissa to meet my RotRL Paladin of Shelyn..Esteriande...which could be the catalyst for her conversion..
Ok we have to pick up the pace a bit folks..has anyone else looked at Kyrademons JR threads..they have 5000+ posts for part 1 and closing on 4000 posts for part 2(plus over 2500 posts in the ooc) when we have done a total of 792 in just 5 days less.
Female Human - Taldan/Garundi Rogue (Swashbuckler) 3
I don't look at other JR threads so as to avoid spoilers. However, looking at just one page of that thread, it seems to me that those folks never leave their keyboards. :P
Also, I think most of us are still new to the whole play-by-post thing and are still trying to get the feel of how it works. I, myself will type a post, preview it, fix it, preview it, fix it, preview it and when I think it's right, submit it. Eventually I'll learn to trust myself to get it right the first time or just accept that mistakes happen and and get on with it.
But I do think we can speed up the pace a bit and gloss over some of the things we've been stretching out. But these are things that come with experience.
Actually that comment was a bit tongue in cheek..I couldn't hit that level of posting even if I was home at the keyboard all day.
Thankfully my companies IT department has classed Paizo as a shopping site..I suspect someone there is a PF fan too.Otherwise I wouldn't have access from here

Adopts Minkai accent.
All Players work
Quality over quantity is the apt retort here, I believe. ;)

I couldn't help it! It just popped into my head and would not leave me alone until I pushed "submit." I thought it would be obscure enough and on topic enough that it would float by without notice. Evidently I was mistaken. ;D
ERhmm...how much money did we each end up with? I think I missed a consolidated total...
My bad! Falling down on the job already. Here's how the loot has gone so far:
Minkai fan - Claimed by Tavlor
Hairpin - Claimed by Runa
Goblin bounty - 700 GP = 100 GP per person
Treasure chest gold - 198 GP / 580 SP = 28 GP / 85 SP each, with 5 silver left over.
Treasure chest - Sold to Ameiko for 250 GP; not yet collected.
So...everyone should have a grand total of 128 GP / 85 SP added to their individual wallets.

Yah! Way to not do yer job! I'm so angry, I...OOooo money!
If you wanna get REALLY miserly with the scratch, then you could further divide that last 5 silver into 7 coppers a piece, with a single copper left over.
I'm seriously considering picking up the "Land of the Linnorm Kings" supplement that was just released to have more information to go on about Úlf's heritage. There's not been THAT much released about the part of Golarion, and it'd be nice to have more background about the way he'd have been raised.

Go for it dude, I got the one on Ustalav for the "in-between" parts of my Carrion Crown game. The info. in the Inner Sea World Guide just wasn't enough for me to really bring the road trip to life.

I'm pretty sure the AP takes us there in a big way too so it'll certainly have value for you being *from* thre and then being able to roleplay telling us about it or whatever.
I h\have no problem with players picking up the slack on things like culture etc..anything to make my life as a GMeasier..It's a good book to though I'm still waiting for my dead tree version because reading PDFs makes my headache.
