Male Human

Helloooooo Power Attack!

Male Human Expert (GM) / Level ??

My level-up profile adjustment got EATEN! I'll have to do it again later. :(

Female Human (Ulfen/Tien) Witch/3

Woohoo..flying here I come!!! Well feather fall to start...but soon

Male Human Expert (GM) / Level ??

All right . . . now Namuril is updated! I chose the archery combat style (trying out a "switch-hitter" type). I think he might be a little better at combat, now. :)

Female Human - Taldan/Garundi Rogue (Swashbuckler) 3

I don't have my books with me, so I'll have to fully level up when I get home.
Speaking of leveling up, how do you work multi-classing and archetypes? Can you multi-class into an archetype, or do you have to start with it?

Female Human (Varisian/Shoanti) Summoner (Synthesist) 3

@Omara Usually, you don't need to worry about archetypes until you get an ability that it replaces. Especially since you can take multiple archetypes a long as they both don't replace the same abilities. But of course it's up to Wellard.

We'll look at Archetypes on a case by case basis..perhaps you'd like to explain further how you see Omara progressing.Having said that I have no problem with you adopting an archetype at the first level in any class.

On Multi-classing the one rule I do have is that you cannot have more than two base classes and one Prestige class.

In addition there are two things I have stolen from 4e
1) it costs just 5' of movement to move diagonally through a square on the battle map

2) You are always assumed to be taking 10 on perception unless you choose to roll for it.

Female Human (Varisian/Shoanti) Summoner (Synthesist) 3

I must admit, I was rather fond of the passive rolls in 4e.

yeah, love it ir hate it I think there are piecess that are good regardless of the system.

Female Human - Taldan/Garundi Rogue (Swashbuckler) 3

I was thinking about, over time, taking a few levels in Bard. The Arcane Duelist from the Player's Guide or the new one (the name escapes me) from the Combat book look like they would go well with what I have in mind. I'll probably stick with my current class for the most part, though.

Of course, some of my most favorite characters ignored my plans for them and went their own way.

Female Human - Taldan/Garundi Rogue (Swashbuckler) 3

I found some Pathfinder books at a gaming store in Tokyo today. They were shrink-wrapped, but the covers were in English. There were some 4E books, too, with Japanese language covers (also shrink-wrapped.) I also saw a lot of Japanese RPGs and supplements. All of it was shrink-wrapped so I couldn't get a peek inside any of the books.

Hope you are enjoying your holiday in Minkai..

Hmm, was the map on the fan what the goblins already followed to find treasure, or is it still something we can investigate? That part of the goblin's explanation was unclear :).

It would appear the goblins followed that map..to their great regret.

Male Human

Hopefully we will prove to be more competent than the goblins were in this regard.

Man I hope so.

"Here are the graves of our late heroes of Sandpoint. Good against goblins, bad against everything else."

That would be sad.

well when your main weapon does 1d4 slashing and a skeleton has DR5/Bludgeoning it's a bit hard to damage them.

Hey now! My main weapon does 1d8 slashing with no strength! WAY better!

Wait a minute...I'm a cleric...why am I trying to *hit* the undead at all? :D

Female Human (Varisian/Shoanti) Summoner (Synthesist) 3

Doh! Yay for spellcasters! Wait... I have one damaging spell and it does 1d3 damage. /sigh

OH MY GOD SHUTUP! :D

You turn into a 7ft tall flaming DEMON! You aren't a "spellcaster" you're Godzilla! :p

Not just any Godzilla. A FLAMING Godzilla. This, I feel, is an important distinction.

*scratches head*

I thought I had the map?

Male Human

There's a magic-a-fied teleport beacon on it that links to the treasure chest. As soon as it got more than ten feet away, it did the whole Star Trek thang and came back to us.

Male Human (American) Dungeon Master (Action Movie Director) 17

But 7 ft. tall flaming godzilla only has a sword... slashing damage.

Tavlor Losh wrote:

Yes you do I'm ignoring Runa's post on that subject.

May I recommend the Morning Star as the perfect low level undead beater..nearly all my characters carry one even the casters.

But Zal is right, against low level undead Channelling is the parties friend.

Is there such a thing as a two-handed morning star? >.>

No there isn't..but remember you get additional damage when wielding a 1 handed weapon two handed.

Alternatively, you could just use a great club

Yeah, I was planning on picking up a great club, but I figured if there was such a thing as a two-handed morning star, it'd be a better choice, since it does bludgeoning and piercing. Thanks!

The Lucerne Hammer is the weapon you want. d12 B or P

Male Human

Yikes! That's a pretty mean-looking polearm! Úlf wants!...though I suppose he'll need to wait to see if he can pick one of them up 'til the next game day.

Female Human (Varisian/Shoanti) Summoner (Synthesist) 3

In 4e morningstars are 2-handed.

I already have my blunt weapon :D Good old staff

I've forgotten if you said how you wanted it to work, DM Wellard. Are you making rolls and keeping track of relationship scores, or are we doing it?

If you want to do the paperwork it's fine by me. I really must get round to reading the relationship rules properly at some point.

Male Human Expert (GM) / Level ??

Out of curiosity, DM: does Shalelu live in town, or outside it? If she does, is she even in town at the moment?

DM Wellard wrote:

Well, you're in charge, so you can do it how you like :). But, since it is supposedly a big part of the AP, I think it will be fun. Here's a summary:

1. Score with each NPC starts at your Charisma Modifier.
2. One time Bonus of +4 with the NPC you have your trait with.
3. Can improve your score by 1 with an NPC each time you Level.
4. Once per Level you can give a gift (for friends) or insult (for rivals) to increase your score by 1, although if you exceed the DC by 10, it can be 2 points.
5. Certain story events can cause changes, based on the GM's discression.

For Gifts/insults:
Requires a Diplomacy check with a DC of your current Relationship score (so it gets harder the better your relationship... which is a little odd, guess gifts get old... ). If you exceed the DC by 10, the gift can increase the score by 2. There is a +4 or -4 Bonus suggested at the GM's discretion based on roleplaying the gift/insult.

Romances:
There's a whole section on romances, but I doubt we're there yet :)

So, if I am understanding things correctly, my score with Ameiko before the gift, would be:
5 (CHA) + 4 (trait) +1 (for lvl 2)

The Gift should be a DC 10 diplomacy check, which I shall roll over in the gameplay thread.

So, with that roll (barely), unless you want to give me the -4 :(, then my relationship score would go up 2, to 12

There are also levels to the relationship, which have Experience rewards for reaching them, but I wasn't sure you wanted to use that. The move from 10 to 12, would move Ameiko and I from "Friendship" to "Fellowship" so yay :D

Whatever that means ;).

I'll add the score to my profile.

Female Human - Taldan/Garundi Rogue (Swashbuckler) 3

I have returned from my vacation, but I'm still a bit worn out.

Welcome back and a fine return it was too.

Male Human

I also added Úlf's on-hand gold and his relationship score with Shalelu and other NPCs to Úlf's profile at the bottom of the statistics block.

Female Human (Varisian/Shoanti) Summoner (Synthesist) 3

Wellard, must not be able to find it, what was our share of the gold?

Male Human

It was 100 gold each.

Seems like it would have been more than that. Do we have someone that is keeping track of our loot?

Female Human - Taldan/Garundi Rogue (Swashbuckler) 3

That's just the bounty for the goblins.
From the goblin treasure: 28gp and 82sp each. There are 2gp and 6sp left after splitting the total evenly. There is also the hairpin worth 260gp and the throwing stars, which Omara is looking into now.

Personally, I consider the fan as group treasure. Even though Tavlor got some relationship points out of giving it to Ameiko, we will all still benefit from the map. The fact that it was given to Ameiko doesn't really bother me all that much as we still get use out of it.

Male Human Expert (GM) / Level ??

DM Wellard:
I hope this isn't an inconvenience, but I'd like to request that I retire Namuril from this campaign. I like your DMing style, and my fellow PCs' roleplaying . . . but I really am not fond of my character (I guess he seems boring to me). I feel like, should I continue to play him, I'd be bogging down the group with a character I don't like.

I'm thinking, at Sandpoint, it'd be an ideal time for Namuril to bid farewell to his party-mates and part ways.

I'd honestly rather not create another character; I'd rather leave you to fill his slot with a PC that is more active in this campaign. Again, I apologize for wanting to back out, and it is nothing against anyone playing this campaign. Is this cool?

@Omara I don't mind paying for the fan, I don't really need cash for equipment anyway. If we sell the Hairpin and throwing stars, and figure the "share" of the fan we all get, I can pay the 140 for the fan.

In my other campaigns, we usually have one person volunteer to keep track of the treasure and tell everyone what their share is... I don't generally like to volunteer for that job, but if no one else does it, I am willing.

However, I would add this warning, I've recently decided to apply for grad school, so at least until my applications are done (Dec ish), I'm going to be seriously busy with that... although I'll need breaks, so I should be able to maintain my frequency of posting.

@Rhys I'm sorry to see you go, I would rather you stay, and have a character you like more... but then I want you to be able to GM our other game well too :)

Male Human

Omara's right; I only counted the goblin bounty since Ulf turned those in. The rest of the loot is still in the treasure chest, waiting to be divided between us. We'll likely end up with even more than that if we sell the chest everything is in, too.

Good luck with the grad school stuff, Tav! I'll be finishing my master's degree in December.

Rhys

Spoiler:
No problem Man..I know the feeling you come up with a concept and then find him somewhat redundant in the party mix. Thanks for letting me know how you feel and I hope we can game together again in future

Male Human

I'll keep track of our loot if everyone is ok with me doing so.

Thus far, our loot has been:

700 GP: goblin reward
198 GP / 580 SP: Loose coins
260 GP: Hair pin
140 GP: Gold-and-ivory fan
??? GP: Treasure chest

Ignoring the fan's value, since Tavlor gave it to Ameiko and the map on the back of it has aided the party's goal of eliminating the new threat to Sandpoint, that gives a grand total (minus the value of the treasure chest itself) 1,158 GP / 580 SP. Dividing that out among the seven party members means 165 GP / 87 SP, with a single SP left over to go crazy on. Par-TAY!

Keep in mind that we haven't yet sold the hair pin or divided up the loose coins in the treasure chest, so the value of those items should not yet be added to your totals. I haven't counted the 200 GP from the masterwork shuriken, either, since Omara hasn't yet met with the group to pass it out, should she choose to do so. The amount of ACTUAL gold each party member should have added to their coffers is a flat 100 GP, since Ulf has already given each party member their share of the goblin-hunting reward.

I'm all for you keeping track. My suggestion is no one does anything to their totals until you say so. Maybe put it in bold or something :).

I'm waiting until the total comes in before subtracting the fan from my total. Just remember to include it in the total treasure everyone should get a part of.
