Romon is daydreaming in the saddle at the rear of the group when Graul announces his presence. He reaches for his bow.
Is Graul is coming toward us from across the field? Range to target? Could be a lance opportunity for Randi.
EDIT:
Triple error on my part. Missed Randi's attack post somehow. Time-phased Wellard's comment about the horses to mean Shalelu was holding them while we fought Spike. Then interpretted Wellard's comment about the ogre trail to mean easy riding. Romon might as well skip getting out that bow.

We've gone a mile and a half or so, so I'm assuming that shield other (7 hour duration) is still active on Muchorak?
Marak steps forward enough that Esteriande is within channeling range, and waits until Muchorak has closed with the ogrekin before speaking a word of power that crashes and reverbrates through the air. "Drop!"
command spell, DC 17 Will save or drop whatever is in it's hands.
This action assumes that he is armed. If not, Marak says 'Flee!' instead, and the ogrekin has to save to avoid fleeing for one round, provoking AoOs from anyone who threatens him.

Dang it! Posted a nice long post last night that got ate. Sigh, ah well, here we go again. PS I'm assuming Alihawk didn't see anything on her reconnaissance flight then?

Screeching in avian fury, Alihawk dive bombs the ogrekin, her claws raking across his flesh as she flies by him lifting back up into the air. Once airborne again, she once more carefully checks the landscape for any form of danger or item of interest.
Meanwhile Lunas races forward to flank the 'wolf killer' with Esteriande, lunging to hamstring his foe and bring him down at the same time.
Lunas attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15 Damage 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Your foe goes down in a shower of blood and is dead before he hits the ground.
Looking around you note the following.
The trees around the clearing are decorated with several hanging cornhusk-and-leather humanoid-shaped fetishes
A tangled field of corn and other diseased plants grows in the eastern section of their land, while to the north slump two sagging buildings: a barn and a farmhouse. Both have had their windows boarded over, and moss and fungus grow heavy on the shaded sides of the decrepit structures.

Romon yawns. As predicted, another foe dies without striking a blow. I wonder if I could get these guys into a gladiator's ring. We could score a small fortune...
Romon snaps out of the momentary revere and looks at the barn and farmhouse. I'm assuming they're ogre-sized? And about how many bedrooms would that farmhouse be?
Appraise 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27 Hey, I have to get some use out of these skill points. ;)
Good thing they don't like light or we might have the whole clan here.
Romon points to the barn and farmhouse. "We'd best get under cover before someone steps into the farmyard."
The rogue turns in a direction to put the barn between them and the house. Hopefully the route takes them past one of the fetishes.
The farm house is perhaps 80' on a side and is sized for oversized humanoids..I should stress that these guys are at the upper end of the Medium size bracket. It's a two story Building and Romon would reckon there could be 5-6 bedrooms.
Esteriande sinks to one knee to keep below the level of the crops and prods the wicked ogre-hook thoughtfully.
"Ze more I see of zese 'ogrekin' ze less I like zem." She turns to Naria. "Can you check 'is gear? we must now be swift and silent." While Naria does what she must, Esteriande sweeps the surrounds with her detect evil.

Marak belatedly checks to see if the ogrekin can be stabilized, but doesn't exactly rush about it, as he's not terribly inclined to save the creature's misbegotten life...
If Esteriande doesn't suggest doing so, he won't bother.
"Some of these items bear enchantments." he adds, almost as an afterthought.

"Bring zem, we can sort zem later." Esteriande does not suggest mercy, the ogrekin is evil and attacked them with the intention to kill. Now that they have potential prisoners to liberate, she is most concerned with their safety than the lives of their captors.
Esteriande follows Romon, staying low, and motioning the others to follow as they can.

Is Shield Other still up on Muchorak? It was cast in the first ogrekin encounter, and lasts for seven hours.
Marak mutters at the thought of sneaking up on stuff and puts the amulet on himself, until such a time as the group can properly distribute it. The ogre hook goes into his haversack, and the ring remains tightly gripped in his shield hand, as he intends to continue looking at it when circumstances permit...

You know, it is kinda weird how Romon seems to so often end up at or around the bottom of the init order...
Knowing her flight would be limited in the big wooden dens Alihawk lands and quickly flows to wolf. Both she and Lunas swiftly and quietly lope ahead, using their senses, particularly their smell, to search out either any other foe, or the scent they got off of Kibb of his two leg.
I assume the plan is to approach the farmstead from behind the barn, using it as cover.
As they approach the rear of the barn, Esteriande extends her senses ahead to the barn, using her detect evil to see if there are enemies in the building, if it will work through the barn.
With their foe dead Muchorak breifly watches as his companions go into their respective actions, "Perhaps we should search the barn first?" He speaks in hushed tones, "It should contain less rooms than the house to allow a quicker search and perhaps their prisoners are contained there."
He and Ursus move with the others...

Stealth 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30 Add 2 more if this area counts as Forest
Perception 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15 Again add 2 more if this area counts as forest and/or 4 more if Ogre's are about :D
Ursus moves along his master; his large form not truly accustomed to silence...

Barn as cover works for me.
On the approach to the barn, Romon sizes it up.
Reaching the barn he pulls a mundane dagger from its sheath and tests the quality of the wood.
Looking for entrances high and low and climbability to high entrances. Trying to discover if the wood is rotten enough that we could pry boards off the back of the barn without too much effort or especially noise.
If there's a hole or gap, he'll try to listen and look through it.
You skirt the clearings edge staying in the trees and come up to tthe 40' wide rear wall off the barn..though the building is in a decrepit state the timbers seem stout and massive.
Murchorak and Romon can both hear indistinct voices from inside the building. You cannot tell how many are there though.
Marak you do get to inspect one of the Fetishes close up..you'd say it was a larger scale version of the corn dollies put up by farmers to avoid bad fortune..in the Grauls case as you lot are here it doesn't seem to have worked very well.

Marak ponders taking out the materials for clairvoyance to locate the presumed captives, but suspects that the imminent combat would be over before he finished casting the spell. Instead he strains his ears to listen with the rest.
The thick walls off the barn muffle too many sounds for Muchorak but the keen ears of the Elven paladin can pick up 4 distinct voices. The conversation is crude and heavily accented and she can't really make much sense off it but it would appear that the occupants are having a disagreement over something.
Scent does not work through walls..Kibb gets no trace of his Master but you do get a fair scent of evil from the area and the stinky stinky ogre kin smells..theres a fair number of individual scents here but the overlay each other so much that Ali cannot tell exactly how many are living here....all she can tell is that there at least 8 seperate scents.

I'll assume then the coast is clear in the yard past the barn?
Romon returns to the party. "Doors to the barn are closed. How about Graul billies the door then it's cutlet time?"
BLuff 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26Romon disguises himself as Graul and opens the door, leaving it that way for the rest of the party to charge in. Hopefully the door pulls out so that it blocks line of sight to the house.

As he waits for the inevitable bloodshed Inikai searches through his mind for the vestige of Andras that shares his consciousness. He knows that it is there but the act of making contact with it provides him with renewed confidence for what lies ahead. "May Torag lead us to victory" he thinks to himself.
Stealth roll, if needed 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 Hopefully, it was not
As you make your way round to the front off the building Inikai inadvertantly kicks an old metal bucket. In the silence of the Farmyard it sounds like the Magnimar Bells going off.
There's a shout from inside and the doors burst open to reveal 4 ogrekin
The first looks relatively normal apart from the vestigial extra arm growing from his left elbow,The second is a towering Albino with huge milky eyes the third is short and stunted with a massive jaw overfull with teeth and the last is gaunt with huge arms. None off them are carrying weapons except the last who hefts a club that seems to be sized for a giant.
