Romon |
Romon moves ahead without light until he can't see well. Then he pulls his ioun torch out of his belt pouch. He holds it in his hand as he moves forward rather than let it circle his head.
Inikai |
Sooo, no one helps poor Icky up? I mean, Ali would but, like, she's got not hands at the moment, ya know?
I assumed that they were too busy laughing.
Inikai clambers to his feet and is thankful that the darkness obscures the fact that he is flush with embarassment. He does not bother to try and wipe away the water that has soaked into his clothes.
Muchorak "Windstriker" |
Muchorak
Acrobatics 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Ursus
Acrobatics 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Both the ranger and his friend seem to have a problem stabilizing themselves on this slippery surface...
Is it possible to take 10 for this area?
DM Wellard |
Ursus is ok he gets an extra +4 as Ali pointed out above..yes you can take 10
Actually that speeds things up..In future when you are in this sort off situation and not under immediate threat I will assume you take 10 on climb/Acrobatic checks..and not ask for rolls unless the DC is beyond the range where take 10 is an auto success
Marak Quan |
Marak briefly ponders whether or not, if Muchorak fell into the water, he would feel wet, through the link they share from his spellcraft. Thus far, the magic only seems to have conducted the pain of injury, but could it be altered or refined to conduct other sensations?
That leads to a more eyebrow-raising notion, and he silently resolves to never cast shield other on Esteriande.
Esteriande d'Litran |
Esteriande leads the way into the shadows of the tunnel, to emerge into the second chamber (assuming we don't run into anything).
"According to ze Black Arrows, ze tunnel to our right leads both to ze courtyard and to ze keep. If we can, we should gain some intelligence as to 'ow well the fires are burning."
Alisebett |
The DireAliwolf nods at Esteriande's comments and flows back to gnome. Ali then crouches down and begins to murmur in the strange lilting pseudo-language her friends have come to recognize when she's communing with The Land.
After a few seconds, a rat appears and she quickly commands it to proceeded into the courtyard, see if any of the wooden dens are on fire and report back to her. She also tells it to see if any big two legs are near the tunnel exit. Squeaking it's understanding, the rat scurries off.
Casts Summon Nature’s Minor Ally, duration 8 rounds
Alisebett |
I thought we were just before the entrance to the courtyard? If not, where are we? If Ali knew thge rat wouldn't have had time to make it there and back obviously there would have been little point in her doing all that.
DM Wellard |
Dabbler can you put the map link up again please..it is some pages back. Ali you entered the cave behind the waterfall acessed from outside the southern wall..the entrance to the courtyard is about 100 yards away in the northern half..however the idea is to get down and into the keep via the cellars not engage 60 ogres at once in the open
Esteriande d'Litran |
You mean this map I put in my first post on this page? Entering smug mode :D
Alisebett |
Sorry, what? The lizards are sparking? As it proving some form of threat? Or a defense mechanism? Or is that just background fluff?
Curious, Ali looks closer at the lizards, trying to identify what they are.
Knowledge(nature): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
Muchorak "Windstriker" |
His weapons sheathed the Ranger moves slowly forward, not threatening, and stops a safe distance (15') from the lizards. He begins whispering in his native tongue in an attempt to calm the lizards...
Wild Empathy 1d20 + 8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 8 + 3 = 16
Handle Animal 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (6) + 14 = 20
Alisebett |
Hadn't known if reptile's counted for using Wild Empathy. So I assume that means they work for Ali's animal tongue as well? Well, she'll speak to them anyway, I'll leave it up to you to decide if lizards count as animals for animal tongue as they do for wild empathy
Squatting down to get closer to their level, Ali moves slowly forward along with Big Bear, speaking calmly and quietly to the shocking lizards, calming them down and making sure they know that they are no danger.
Wild Empathy: 1d20 + 8 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 8 + 4 + 4 = 20 last +4 doesn't count if she cannot speak to them in Animal Tongue
Handle Animal?:1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29
"Hi little shocky friends! Ali thinks you both very pretty! Yes yes she does. But why you be shocky now? Ali and Big Bear not bad, no no! We and pack mates be friends of you, yes yes we do! We just want pass by your space, we no do nothing to hurt you. And if you want us do something to help you, we do that now, yes yes we do!"
Marak Quan |
"We may have to kill the lizards, rather than flush they out into the keep, both giving away the location of the entrance to the caves, and also advertising to the ogres that something is in those caves, to have scared them out..."
Inikai |
"We may have to kill the lizards, rather than flush they out into the keep, both giving away the location of the entrance to the caves, and also advertising to the ogres that something is in those caves, to have scared them out..."
When Marak suggests killing the lizards Inikai vigorously shakes his head in a "No" motion and then gestures toward Ali to indicate that she will never go along with such an idea.
Esteriande d'Litran |
"You know, I zink you credit zese ogres wiz too much intelligence. If we drive ze lizards up into ze keep, ze ogres will be concentrating on ze lizards."
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16
Muchorak "Windstriker" |
"I think it wise to peek into the courtyard. But we should go with the lizards if it leads into the keep." Muchorak pauses, "We can split up here and not venture out of the caves until we are in all together again."
Esteriande d'Litran |
"Alli, Muchorak, why do you not follow ze lizards, see if you can get through to zem? Romon and I will take a peek at ze courtyard," Esteriande suggests. "Once we 'ave intelligence, we and ze ozzers will follow you."
Romon |
Romon nods and starts down the righthand passage with his left index finger pressed to his lips, lifting his feet extraordinarily high and placing them with ultra-slow deliberation.
Three paces he's later he's into his normal glide along the side of the passage. (fast stealthing to get a 20' lead on E)
What she said!
Stealth 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (10) + 19 = 29
Perception 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28 +4 more v traps
And obviously stopping short of the actual exit to the courtyard.
Alisebett |
Ali frowns in anger and concern at Marak's comment but says nothing. She does not notice Inikai's gesture but quickly nods in agreement to Big Bear and Esteriande's plan. With a last frown at Marak she quickly heads off after the lizards, Lunas right behind her.
Stealth: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17
Lunas Stealth: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27
[ooc]Do we need light to see in here with btw? If so, Ali summons Dancing Lights to illuminate their way.
Muchorak "Windstriker" |
Muchorak and Ursus follow along with Wolfspirit. He keeps his blades sheathed not wanting to alarm the lizards if they catch up to them...
Perception 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (9) + 12 = 21
Marak Quan |
Marak is all too aware that he is not stealthy by nature, and remains to the rear of the group, making sure to remain within fifteen paces of Muchorak, so that he does not lose the protection of his warding spell.
DM Wellard |
Sorry folks I was just trying to work a few things out..and it took longer than I thought
Romon and Esteriande
Everyone Else
Romon |
[spoiler= Wellard and Esteriande]Romon examines the exit.
What are we talking here? A hole in the wall? A normal door? Most likely a concealed door? We'll probably be opening it blind?
He also listens carefully.
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 13 = 15 +4 more v traps
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (10) + 13 = 23 +4 more v traps
