Neheb shows no real interest or affect from your introductions. Accepting them perfunctorily without returning them. Taking a seat in the middle of one side of the table he sits with arms extended so his wrists lie flat. Food and drink arrives and he accepts a glass of wine, waiting for the help to leave before cutting to the point. "I was informed you had something of interest to me... I would see it"
Noor El'Harkon |
"Well you see, we are not quite sure what we have here. It seems very valuable and we certainly had to earn it. An entire pyramid with no entrance...it dumbfounded the archaeologists, but we figured it out. We are quite proud of that. Well, we opened what couldn't be opened and recovered this. So in a way, it is a badge of honor of our skill. We have this amulet too, but the spyglass is clearly a unique item and likely has a story behind it, or else why seal it away so deviously. Well, not to devious for us." Noor finishes with a smile and raises her wine glass to her friends.

Grynbarl met her toast and finally spoke up, having watched the proceedings with a keen eye himself. His voice was all purrs and adulation, but without the touch of obsequiousness typically found in a sycophant.
"We had thought that perhaps an item of note and curiosity such as this, dating from the days of the Four Pharaohs as it does, would be worthy of a trade, eminence."

Seeing that the talk has turned from direct commerce to a more circumspect approach, Neheb quietly regards those present before leaning back in his chair. Clapping his hands loudly, an attendant comes in and he asks for "شیشه and عرق" allowing enough time for the young girl to leave before speaking more openly "I had thought you more of the الثعابين من الرمال that seek gold only... but your words and manner do not mark you as such. It is indeed a unique specimen, and no doubt will empty the purse of he who seeks to part it from you... but I wonder, would you favor me with the reason as to why it crossed your path? Surely you are not merely treasure seekers?"
شیشه and عرق - shisha arac (a strong Osiriani liquor)
الثعابين من الرمال - snakes of the sand
He is using Ancient Osiriani pronunciation and words - which are similar enough in this instance, but mark him as one who speaks formally.

I reach up and scratch Maggi's chin while continuing to carefully watch Neheb's every move and expression.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
And what would make you think that we are more than merely treasure seekers? Would that make you more than merely a collector of rare Osirian artifacts?
