Kams looks up from his dark mood, My thanks Master Dominova. I too fear dealing with that dark hound was our only recourse. As Erastil has to accept Asmodeus into the fold, so too must I accept Gnasha. In truth... Kams turns from side to side, hoping the others do not hear, my burden is not that Gnasha survives to kill again so much as now that stain shall spread beyond myself to Master Kingeagle and our fair Mistress Do'erran. You and I, we have seen a side of the world made harsh by the will of men, oft against other men. We know darkness belongs to the maker, not the victim. How will they react should we learn of Gnasha and her atrocities, once she has forged a new pack and begun her hunt again? A village slain for the safety of this one fool, one unfortunate enough to live and lead us down this path to whatever lies beyond.

Kams kicks a loose stone off the track as he leads his mount onward. No, I stand by the deal I made, whatever comes of it. And I am glad to have saved what to us was an innocent. But what evil matters lie buried in the future that this act shall uncover? I worry not for the consequences I face, but of you others. I have lost everything, so only my life remains. You good folk, you have much yet left to you, much to gain, and much that could be lost.

Looking up to the sky, watching Warren's birds in lofty flight, And to top it off, I've meddled in the affairs of some dark sorceress. Kams spares a glance back to Stephanus, Surely nothing bad can come of that, right? he remarks, a chuckle and smile returning to his face.

Let us hurry on to Oleg's, my friend. Dad's bottle is begging to be opened, though tonight perhaps we might steal a taste of that bottle you found in Gansha's private stash.

"I cannot fault your actions Sir Redcloak. Saving the innocent was our first priority. Hopefully you can call me Warren after what we have been through today."

"Once you were face to face with the beast under the guise of a parley, what choice did you have? We had the innocent safe, but our magic was exhausted. Not one of us would I trade for Gnasha's life. To attack under the truce, even though Gnasha added conditions and a city lawyer may have argued that you were no longer bound to honor the truce, would have been a horrible thing for a man of honer."

"I somewhat regret I didn't take the position by Gnasha's neck, for I would have been tempted to sink my scimitar in it. My ways are not always the ways of the civilized, and I have only Gozreh to answer for my actions."

Warren awkwardly approaches Kams and places his hand on his shoulder. "Most importantly we went after an innocent. Imagine what lengths we will go after to recover one of our own. We are truly worthy of the legacy of the Swordlords and worthy to hold the responsibility of a lord to his subjects."

A wet and flustered Fulton approaches Tityanna after he's finished dealing with Mikhail. Looking a bit bashful the farmer says, "I'm sorry about the boys rash actions, I hope that will be the last of that type of incident."

He looks over to Ursula and Thad and then gestures at the generally miserable weather. "I'm thinking it might be best to set up camp for the rest of the day. Who knows how the others have managed. They likely ran into more of those beasts judging from the sounds we heard earlier, so there may be more injured to deal with."

He pauses for a second to wipe rain and soaked hair from his face and then adds, "I imagine we could all use a decent fire and some hot food verses trying to push on today. What do you say?"

Female Human Sorceress (Fey) 1/ Oracle (Life) 1

Tityanna nods. "Aye, is well and good," she agrees. She allows herself to regard the settler with a faint smile. "I will intercept the others and speak to them before they return. The children have been terrified enough, I should think."

Scanning the configuration of the caravan at present, Tityanna's eyes narrow. "We should move the wagons so that we can take advantage of the rocks as a natural barrier between ourselves and something on the ground," she assesses. "A climbing creature is not a very stealthy one. Is there a wagon capable of supporting a sentry?"

Elf Paladin 2

Thad begins to relax as the ointment (and the brandy) start to take effect. "That... is amazing. Truly you have a gift for healing- priestess or not. I hate to see battle leave its mark on such a kind face though, even second-hand..." He pulls a handkerchief from a pouch on his belt and carefully wipes the blood from her cheek.

At her thanks, Thad returns Ursula's smile. "Yes, things could certainly have gone much worse today. I hope the boy learns the right lesson from it though, I need to talk to Gregor about bravery and valor..." he trails off as a gust of wind brings the sound of Andrea still scolding her son, " -but I may have to wait in line."

Fulton readily agrees to Tityanna's suggestion and starts working with the others to move the wagons. Although none of the covered wagons will support a sentry, Fulton thinks they could quickly rig a small shelter in the rocks that would keep a person covered and put them above the wagons for an easier view.

Ursula laughs lightly at Thad's words. "I'm sure he won't be forgetting today anytime soon." See looks up and notices movement on the road ahead. After a few seconds, recognition crosses her face and she breaths a sigh of relief.

"It looks like the others are back." She says, pointing at Kams, Warren, Alaina, Stephanus, and Zavac making their way along the road.

Warren sends the eagles ahead to land on the wagons and has Tuney amuse the children. Upon seeing the looks on the faces of the those left behind Warren realizes that the rest did not have a pass on action.

"I was worried splitting us would be dangerous, but maybe it worked out just fine.

What a test -- we are the new Sword Lords!

Stephanus helps get the unconscious man to whatever place we can manage among the wagons, then seeks out Tityanna and Thad. He describes the matron worg to the sorceress and hands over the bauble.

"Its enchantments appear to be broken, but I defer to your judgement. If it bears no trace of a geas or curse, Kams has laid claim as testament of his oath."

"The beast was very boastful, claiming to have been 'Bane of Branthlend' and 'killer of Firock clan'. A formidable monster, without a doubt. And it spoke of a creature more powerful than itself - a master of trickery and embodiment of chaos. This was the thing that bound the worg to this place. This more powerful thing claims the lands south of here..."

To Stephanus, Kams will comment, Perhaps you might share some stories of your homeland, or something inspiring to help lift the spirits of these folks. I fear they need something to distract from how very real these dangers were today, and may become in the days ahead.

Would a good diplomacy check improve the NPCs' morale and outlook for the journey ahead?

Stephanus:
The Branthlend Mountains sit on the southwestern border of Brevoy and are part of the Stolen Lands. It's possible Gnasha developed a reputation among the inhabitants of the range. As to the Fir'ock clan, you've not heard of them specifically. But the name could refer to one of the many Kellid tribes of Numeria which inhabit the plains and hills just north and east of the Branthlend range.

Kams:
The weather doesn't look to improve much over the next three days. A mix of heavy rain with occasional lighter drizzle, but overall wet and cold.

Your foraging is successful as you manage to bring in a brace of rabbits and some more root vegetables and mushrooms.

A Diplomacy check could help. Also, an uninterrupted night's rest should help improve the mood.

Male Human Ranger

After chatting with the elders in the group about the storms coming over the next few days, Kams will look to help out around camp. He leaves it to the others to decide how best to proceed. The group should know best the dangers of wagons on the muddy tracks ahead, thinking back to the overturned, smoldering wagon around the bend. Slow and steady won the tortoise. Quick to slip fell the hare.

He wanders by the rabbits and vegetables awaiting dinner, having an idea. Though Kams isn't well versed in cooking, he offers to assist with the evening meal, roping young Yori into assisting him cleaning and cutting the roots and tubers for a fine coney stew.

We won't get much use for brushing down the horses tonight, we'll just check their hooves and legs, so this should serve better to pay our way, ehh. Looks to be we may all be wet for a while yet, looking intently to the darkened sky. Leaning down close to the boy, Kam whispers, Let me know if I start growing gills, will ya? his hands making fanning gestures to the sides of his neck. Need to hide 'em so as not to scare the pretty ladies. (Diplomacy check 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21) Kams hopes the smiles and friendly gestures will improve his own mood as much as that of the boy and those around.

That she-hound is free to run because I wasn't ready, Ali. But the next time we meet, well, by Erastil I shall make my amends.

Warren realizes the eagles may be a good resource to communicate quickly with the others if they get separated again. He shows the eagles how to carry a small scroll case in their talons. He also shows the others how to signal for the eagles to land on the left arm by holding up a gloved left hand.

"Thad and Tityanna, you did a masterful job keeping the caravan safe. I am glad you made sure I did not live to regret separating to rescue the captive. Splitting our group is not normally a good idea."

Aliana helps make the wounded man as comfortable as possible then assists the others with setting up camp and helping Kams and the others make dinner.

Kams greets Aliana as she offers to help with the stew. The young master and I were just saying how we were hoping not to poison everyone in our efforts. It's good you've come along to rescue our fair band from our ineptitude. Kams winks and smiles to young Yori as he continues. A fair and comely lady to teach this miscreant the folly of his ways was needed here, and lo you come; Erastil's winks indeed. Come, sit, pull up a... looking around he stammers, looks concerned, then confused, turns scratching his head, Well, at least take my cloak, as he spreads it across the ground, offering a place to rest across from himself, aside the youngster. As the boy blushes, Kams smiles and resumes cutting a few carrots for the stew tossing most in the pot, sneaking smallish cuts for himself when he knows Yori is pretending not to look.

She looks a sight like you Ali, not as red though. An a'course more polished than we ever got the chance. You'd like her I think.

Aliana smiles at Kams' offer. "You are too kind. But please, no need to dirty your cloak on my account. After today's exercise I think my clothes are in need of a washing anyway. As to poisoning us, she smiles again, "something tells me you are more versed in the culinary arts than you let on. You hold that knife rather expertly." She winks conspiratorially at Yori and, grabbing a couple potatoes, she takes out her belt-knife and begins peeling them and adding them to the pot.

The young Yori, laughs lightly at Kams' antics and dives into the task of helping him prepare the stew.

When Alaina arrives and joins the conversation, he turns a little red at her wink, but laughs along and soon overcomes his shyness around the young woman and seems to be warming up to both adventurers.

Ursula and Zavac take charge of the wounded man and clear a second spot in Donal's wagon for him to be laid out while they work. After a short while, Ursula lets everyone know that the man should be okay, but that he seems to be suffering from a mild fever, blood loss and likely shock. She's given him something to help and to keep him asleep for the next several hours.

As Thad recovers in the back of Ursula's cart, he notices the young Sari Meyerson staring at him from a few feet away. She's sitting cross-legged under the cover of a rock overhang and it seems she's holding a single silver coin in her hand. She keeps glancing from the coin to Thad with a serious, look of curiosity on her face.

Elf Paladin 2

With regard to Stephanus's information about the beast, Thad wracks his memory for any references to the people or places mentioned...

knowledge (nobility)1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25

In the back of the wagon, Thad passes the time by idly whittling at a block of wood. He has it into a roughly 4-legged shape, and he's staring at it as he considers how to try to finish it.

A horse? Perhaps a goat? Certainly not a wolf! Hmm... what about a bear...

He begins to return to working on the piece when he notices he has caught Sari's attention. He returns her stare for a moment then offers her the rough figure and says, "Hello there young miss, apparently I have a poor eye for this sort of work; what sort of animal do you think is hiding in here?"

Thad:
Nothing specific comes to mind immediately. There was a minor noble family that used to inhabit the northern slopes of the Brenthland mountains. Perhaps the creature cold have been referring to that region. The family has long since died out and the area is now part of the Stolen Lands. In addition, the Shrike and Pitax are both rivers that flow through the Stolen Lands.

Sari, jumps slightly at Thad's question. After a moment her eyes squint in suspicion at the elf and she's says in a careful tone, still fiddling with the silver coin, "Hmmm...it's hard to say. An ox or horse?" She looks down at the bandages on Thad's leg, her face still scrunched into a thoughtful frown, "Are you feeling strange in any way? Any sudden urges to look or shout at the moon?" She pauses a minute and then continues, "My friend Tara said that anyone bitten by a wolf would be turned into a blood thirsty wolf themselves, so I thought I'd better key an eye on you."

Elf Paladin 2

Thad nods gravely. "A wise precaution. My friends used to tell such stories, sitting around the fire on a moonlit night, listening to the wolves howl across the plains..."

He leans forward and lowers his voice as he continues, starting to settle into a storytelling tone, One fellow I traveled with for a time said that he was passing throught the Juviler hills, far to the East. The sun had just set and he was looking for a place to make his camp when-" suddenly he stops himself. "But you don't want to hear that story! Goodness, I've known grown men, brave warriors all, to have nightmares after hearing that story. What was I thinking! No, lets talk about something more pleasant instead. Have you heard the story of the first bow, and what Ol' Deadeye did to the fellow who broke it?"

I ran into some computer troubles and didn't get a chance to reply to Stephanus's post about the amulet. Thad would have taken a hard look at it (detect evil) and mentioned something if he saw anything.

Female Human Sorceress (Fey) 1/ Oracle (Life) 1

Concerning the Worg's collar:

Tityanna will cast Detect Magic.

Tityanna Spellcraft 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Tityanna Kn. Arcana 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14

Tityanna speaks a few words in a clipped language and her eyes turn a blue color. She studies the collar intently for a few moments, trying to determine its purpose.

Young Sari listens as Thad starts to relate the scary tale, eyes rapt and engaged. Then when he switches stories she lets out a groan and tosses her hands in the air. "Ahhh, I've heard that old story a bunch of times. Go back to the other one. I'm not afraid..." Then she stops mid-sentence, scrunching her face back into a suspicious frown, "Say, you aren't trying to distract me while you turn into a wolf or something are you?" In a display of quick reflexes she suddenly brandishes the silver coin one last time then tosses it lightly into the air for Thad to catch. As it flies through the air, she watches carefully to see what happens.

Tityanna and Thad:
It's take a bit, but the two of you finally get a chance to carefully examine the charm that Stephanus brought back from the Worg's lair. It is made of bone, roughly carved into the shape of a wolf's skull. The eyes hold two small amethyst stones. Perhaps more interesting is the stylized knotwork 'S' of inlaid silver which adorns the back of the charm.

Magically, the charm is now inert and doesn't resonate any evil, although faint and slowly dissipating traces of both can still be felt. The aura of enchantment remains strong enough that Tityanna is able to come to the conclusion that the charm was certainly infused with a geas-like spell attuned to the worg specifically. However, after a little more study she is able to find an additional layer of casting with a necromantic aura. This deeper curse may have been what allowed the geas to remain intact for such a long time, although it is unclear what the actual spell was. From the intricate and powerful nature of the casting, it's certain someone with a significant level of power and knowledge was behind the creation of the item.

Female Human Sorceress (Fey) 1/ Oracle (Life) 1

Tityanna hisses and draws back from the collar as if the item had attempted to bite her. "A geas!" she states, her cat-like eyes narrowing. "Whomever bound magics to this item is extremely powerful," she says and winds her hands into fists, and then stretches her fingers. "Not even my tutors were skilled enough to lay that spell..."

Tityanna flicks nervous eyes back to the camp. "I would suggest that we keep this from the settlers and their families," she continues, lowering her voice so that it cannot carry to eavesdroppers. "We are each of us bound to our duty in the South, and should they wish to return to Restov based upon what little information we have gained here, we cannot abandon our oaths to act as escorts."

Elf Paladin 2

Thad nimbly plucks the coin out of the air, then immediately takes on an expression of puzzlement. Bewildered, he looks at one hand then looks at the other, then shows Siri his empty palms. "Hey, how'd you do that? One moment the coin was in my hand, the next its in your ear! No, not that ear, the other ear..." Thad reaches forward and pulls the coin from her ear, offering it back to her on the palm of his hand.

"Now, by custom a storyteller's fee is two copper, or lodging and a warm meal. Since your coin is too rich and you've left the cooking to your brother, you'll just have to owe me a story in return- if you're sure you're not going to be scared...

Thad will launch into a fairly standard werewolf story that he really did hear from his old friends as they sat around a fire. He leaves out the more lurid bits (that he and the boys had enjoyed most about the tale) and omits the particularly gruesome parts of the descriptions, but for the most part its an accurate retelling. The tale ends with a farmer's daughter tricking the werewolf into eating a pie baked with wolfsbane; Thad makes it abundantly clear to Sari that wolfsbane is a deadly poison and that she should not, under any circumstances poison someone... actually he's starting to regret that he picked this particular story to share with her.

Performing legerdemain requires DC 10 sleight of hand check. Taking a 10 on sleigh of hand = 13

Thad studies it for a minute, then frowns slightly and takes out a handkerchief to wipe his hands."This was made for an evil purpose. Whatever that talisman did, no good could have come of it. The suffering it caused has left its mark on it, and just handling it makes me feel unclean. I don't think it is dangerous any more but it is... unsavory."

"Regarding Branthlend, I've know that region as a small range of mountains to the Southwest- I don't think I've heard of the Firock clan. The beast is ranging quite far if she came from there..."

Seeing Thad easily snatch the coin out of the air, and then do a quick trick with it, she visibly relaxes and offers a bright smile to the knight. "Oh, I'm certain I won't be scared. Not now that I know you aren't going to turn into a wolf. Tara told me a werewolf can't stand silver." She waves her hand casually in the air and looks back over to her own wagon where Gregor is bent over a basket of potatoes with a small knife. "And don't worry about the cooking. Mother's going to have Gregor taking care of all the chores for days."

She quickly settles in as Thad spins his tale. The girl listens intently, asking a few questions here and there in the beginning, but slowly she becomes quiet as he goes on. Her eyes start to go wide as the tale reaches the high point and she releases a long held breath at the werewolf's demise.

Just as she's about ready to launch into a smattering of questions her mother calls out, "Sari, time to eat! Come over here and wash up."

With a start she jumps down from her perch saying, "Thanks for the story, that was great and I wasn't scared one bit." She turns to run off, but then spins back around, jumps up into the wagon, and gives Thad a quick peck on the cheek and a hug. "Thanks, for saving us today. I'm sure glad you didn't turn into a werewolf." Then she leaps from the back of the wagon, and runs off to dinner.

As the evening meal is about to be served, Kams will wash up, as best he can, before dining with everyone. After the meal, Kams suggests the charter holders meet briefly to discuss the issues of the past day, once clearing up is complete of course. Shall we discuss in private, or invite the wagon masters to join us? We have much to decide, and little time of day to do so. Watch teams, what for the wounded, to risk the weather and press onwards, such matters as I have little head for, so will abide the measure of the group. Stephanus nods to Tityanna in agreement on keeping close council. The charge of securing this place falls to us. This oath with the worg b$*%& eliminates her as a threat to the lives they're trying to make out here. They saw the worgs first hand, and they will see the beast's cruel handiwork tomorrow - no help for that.

Stephanus lays the wicked little amulet out on a crate and sketches its likeness into his journal. He then passes the charm back to Tityanna to render judgement on the dangers of keeping it.

After dinner and Kams's suggestion, Stephanus speaks his mind.

I think we should advise these folks to push on very early in the morning. Be ready to move as soon after dawn as possible. The morale of this group is very good still, despite what they've seen. They can bear one hard push to reach Oleg's. We can catch up on sleep when we reach the outpost.

Female Human Sorceress (Fey) 1/ Oracle (Life) 1

"Aye, nothing is achieved simply letting this wound fester," Tityanna agrees with Stephanus's assessment. "Best to show a united front from here til our destination, that much is certain," she continues, sparing a glance for Kams. "Though it is not included in our charter, we are their escorts, and little to be said for our ability to maintain their safety if we act as individuals first, hmm?"

After supper, and seeing to Puck's heath and comfort, Tityanna will raise her tent, and the seek out Donal.

"I am not certain if this is yet my place, but if you would like someone to listen with judgment, I'll hear your words," she offers with a faint smile.

His leg still preventing him from leaving the wagon, Thad takes his meal in solitude. It had been quite some time since Thad though of children, and passing an hour or two with Sari brought back memories. In this new life, as a champion of Erastil, people sometimes looked at him oddly if they found he wasn't married. It was simply expected that he would settle down and start a family and take up marital vows the same as the rest of his holy vows.

The bandit women he had known... they'd lain together out of lust, or boredom, or simple need for companionship. None had entertained the thought of building a life together. There were precious few elves likely to be roaming the stolen lands and the short-lived folk; he'd seen so many come and go, watched them grow old and die... could he possibly settle down with one and start a family knowing that they'd only have a few short decades together?

Thad is in a pensive mood when the other charter holders come to speak with him. He recommends that Fulton be involved in the meeting and he reemphasizes his distaste for the amulet, but doesn't voice any objection when Kams states his desire to keep it. "I agree with departing early, we should set the fastest pace that the horses can maintain. What of the trade goods from the overturned wagon, do we have room in our caravan to bring them with us?"

I assume our meeting is happening at the back of the wagon Thad is in, since he'd have some difficulty attending it elsewhere...

Warren will bring his crossbow with the fouled channel to the blacksmith.

"Do you think this can be fixed to be a serviceable weapon? There will be times I can't fight in close where this will come in handy. Please let me pay for your services--the workman is worthy of his hire."

Do not let the pace push beyond safety concerns. You wish to move onwards, I abide the decision. But do understand we have two more days of storms, rain, and bad weather to turn the road beyond to a muddy, sucking morass. Wagon wheels and horses' legs do not do well in such terrain. We should take caution. We cannot afford to loose even one of either.

With that, Kams takes his leave of the group, Wake me at my watch, I will check the horses one last time, then retire. He borrows a lantern from one of the pioneers and proceeds to inspect the horses for signs of tnederness along their extremities, areas they may need to watch as they proceed the next day.

When invited into the conversation, Fulton listens intently and carefully to all the comments. Seeing that many are in agreement he says, "I'd agree that it is best we try and push on, but as Master Kams said, the roads will be more trouble with this weather. We'll not make as good of time, but still, I think it's better than not moving."

He looks a little shy for a second and then looks at each of you as he speaks, "I'd just like to thank you for what you did today. Without your aid, we could have ended up like those other men. I'd not realized the road was this dangerous this far north. From now on we'll all be better prepared." He turns and nods his head slightly to Thad, "I especially thank you sir, for my fool of a son's life. You can be assured he'll not be acting so rash in the future." The last is said with a slight smile as thinks back to his wife's words to her wayward oldest boy.

"I'll let the others know we should be ready to pull out first thing in the morning."

As Warren hands him the crossbow, Donal gives it a good look. After a few minutes and some tinkering with the weapon he nods his head and says, "Aye, it can be fixed easily, give me an hour or two and I should be able to get the thing shooting better than it likely ever has before. These Brevian models always have this problem."

At the mention of payment, he raises his hand and shakes his head, "Consider this one on-the-house. In return for endangering your lives with those beasts today."

He sets up a little covered area at the end of his wagon using some oiled tarps and proceeds to to work on the crossbow using a few tools and parts he pulls from a large chest.

When Tityanna arrives, he smiles warmly and offers her a relatively dry place to sit under the tarp. Setting the crossbow aside, he lets out a long breath and says quietly while looking around the camp, "What a difference a day can make."

Looking at the young woman before him, his own eyes seem a bit sad, "Was it only yesterday, the sun was shining and we were all meeting, filled with hope and new possibilities? Now the rain quenches hope and uncertainty seems to permeate our hearts."

Tityanna takes a deep breath and stretches as well she can beneath the tarp, giving the appearance of being relaxed. In truth, her senses were extraordinarily dull and she relied upon others to warn her of danger, and as such could afford to appear lazy to put another at ease. She rolls onto her side and props her head up at the base of the neck and smiles at Donal softly.

"When my sire and his mother were arranging my marriage, they took into consideration those values that I had gained in my modest home, chief among them the wisdom to recognize that sacrifice led to greater rewards for all," she muses and traces lines in Sylvan with her fingertips. "My suitors were, with no exception, at least twenty years my elder, previously married and each had been blessed with a capable heir. My dowry was small, and not a great many men are comfortable with taking to their beds a woman capable robbing them of their sense."

Tityanna chuckles softly and speaks in Sylvan as she summons her magics, her eyes filming over with blue as she looks out over the camp, then releases her magic with a sigh. "Now then, no magical properties to this rain that I could see," she says and half lids her cat like eyes. "Is it an inconvenience? Sure. But I imagine there is no shortage of water in the River Kingdoms, and we would do well not to fear it, hmm?"

Stephanus tries to make use of the remaining light to get his tent setup and get himself installed somewhere relatively dry where the day's observations could be recorded. Within his low tent, sitting cross-legged he broods over the open journal for awhile gathering the images in his mind. He sets up the little eye of Aroden on a shrine made from his armor and illuminates it with a cantrip. Not much to add to the map today. Geography of mixed grassland and shrub forest. Outcrops of broken and weathered rocks. And Worgs!

The red glow of the demon wolf's eyes are kindled again in the mind and flow onto the page. A sketch of the beast exhibiting her hostage. A sketch of the insignia on the victims' clothing. No real sense of their identity, but perhaps they were known to Oleg? He muses this way for as long as his conscience can bear it before carefully stowing it all away and emerging to help with the chores of the camp.

After the meeting dismisses, Alianna goes to rub down and make sure her horse is comfortable. She smiles at Kams, seeing he had the same thought.

Afterwords, she crawls into her tent exhausted and, despite the cold and wet, she soon falls into a deep sleep.

With that, Kams takes his leave of the group, Wake me at my watch, I will check the horses one last time, then retire.

We never did work out formal guard schedules, I propose six 90 minute watches:

Zevac/Fulton
Tityanna/Donal
Kams/Gregor
Burdo/Porter
Aliana/Stephanus
Warren/Thad

...any issues?

None. Thanks for taking the executive action!

Ok with whatever watch plan the group decides upon.

Kams smiles to Aliana, then resumes his work checking over the horses.

Bedding down, Kams tucks underneath his blanket and bedroll, then sets his shroud at an angle to keep the rain off. If it gets colder, gonna have to set a couple stones for my feet next time, he mutters behind his chattering teeth.

Donal watches as the magic fades from Tityanna's eyes. A smile crosses his lips and a soft chuckle rumbles from deep within his chest. "I should have known that the perfect cure for a fit of melancholy is a wise woman with beautiful set of magical eyes."

Reaching out, Donal, carefully uses a finger to brush back a stray bit of damp hair from the sorceress' face. He follows the gentle gesture by saying softly, "Your parents and former suitors were fools not to see the great gift that had been granted them. You alone would be a dowry worth the gold of a thousand thrones. And what man in love can't be robbed of his sense by the one who would claim his heart. The gift of love is knowing that he need not fear this claim, for she would not bring him harm or hurt."

He pulls back his hand and blushes slightly, watching Tityanna's eyes and face to see if he's said too much.

"Mama was a good Erastilean," Tityanna protests. She takes Donal's hand and kisses his fingertips lightly, "and noble in heart as well as name. She is the reason I have kept mine," she muses and whispers, "Tityanna Medvyed."

"Thad, I am impressed with how you and Tityanna kept your composure and rescued the young man. I think our group is shaping up to be some major heroes in the making. My main goal is to keep a good lookout for the group so we can avoid being surprised. Forewarned is forearmed."
