Just realized that a witch can't teach spells to her familiar from a spellbook, so unless someone else wants it we might as well sell it too (the spellbook, not Addie's familiar...).

As far as the glaive goes, maybe we could put it in a lead-lined box. That would probably be pretty expensive, though.

I'm still all for trying to sell the glaive to the Pathfinders.

Can you recalculate those shares assuming he takes it and it doesn't get sold.

Also we can sell the spellbook. Addie can't teach spells from a spellbook to her familiar. Not sure how much it's worth though.


Per the PRD, a captured spellbook can be sold for an amount equal to half the cost of purchasing and inscribing the spells within. So I'm assuming that 'purchasing' means buying a scroll of the spell in question (25 gp per 1st level spell, 150 gp per 2nd level spell, 375 gp per 3rd level spell, and 700 gp per 4th level spell). Inscribing costs as listed under Writing a New Spell into a Spellbook are 10 gp per 1st level spell, 40 gp per 2nd level spell, 90 gp per 3rd level spell, and 160 gp per 4th level spell. The spellbook in question has 10 - 1st level spells, 10 - 2nd level spells, 7 - 3rd level spells, and 3 - 4th level spells.

So the value of the spellbook can be calculated as:

1st level spells = 10 x 35 gp = 350 gp
2nd level spells = 10 x 190 gp = 1900 gp
3rd level spells = 7 x 465 gp = 3255 gp
4th level spells = 3 x 860 gp = 2580 gp
Cost of blank spellbook = 15 gp

For a Total Value of 8100 gp, and a Sale Value of 4050 gp.


If possible, Addie would like to purchase a Headband of Vast Intelligence +2.

So getting that back would cost us -312.5gp each.

Selling the spellbook for 4050gp would be +1012.5gp each.

So effectively with the spellbook sold and the scarab NOT sold, it's a net of +700gp each.

Addie: +5751.625
Kevorin: +6311.625
Morghrim: +7566.625

If the glaive isn't sold: (-1414.75g each)

Valeron: +3401.875
Addie: +4336.875
Kevorin: +4896.875

Kev is right. If he grabs the scarab (worth 2500gp), he effectively puts 2500gp back into the shared pot which is then divided 4 ways (including himself).

This puts the distribution (assuming the glaive is not sold) at:

Kev: +3021.875
Val: +4026.875
Add: +4961.875
Mor: +6776.875

Ok, i'll have Morghrim's profile fully updated from his Herolab file tomorrow. Essentially, he adds this loot haul to his previous hoard, flogs several of his items and just barely affords Mithril Full Plate (unenchanted). His only magical item now is Shelyn's Kiss, but I am content; wanted this hefty full plate cost out of the way.

If anyone wanted to buy the ring of feather fall at cost (half its value) feel free to have bought it from Morghrim instead of him selling it in Westcrown.

I'm now finally moving up to Southampton for university. Things will be hectic for me but will settle down on the 1st of October, at which time expect much more posting from me.

I'll try and weigh in where possible but please don't let the game be waiting for me on anything except combat. Assume my character is passive and goes with the flow. Should be able to keep up with combats but perhaps not more than that and if i'm too slow, bot me.

I imagine you are right about losing Tanner. Kind of a bummer, but no real worries as he was not really established in the group as of yet anyway.

Looks like Nazard (Kevorin) and Wakedown (Valeron) are still active on the boards, provided that they are willing to give this wayward DM yet another chance to keep the bloody game going, do we want to recruit a new 5th member of the WMD or just move on with four?

I have my initial opinion on the matter, but can be swayed either way.


I'm good with staying with four, but I'd be just as happy with recruiting a fifth if the DM would prefer.

Still here. Paizo site is slow this morning and my RSS reader constantly had issues detecting new messages here.

It may just be easier continuing with four versus recruiting if we need another "break" mid-campaign. :)

Ok looks as if we have our four remaining original PCs back for another go at this game, so we will move forward with that.

(For what it's worth, my opinion on the matter was very similar to what Valeron had stated.)

Is there any way we could get a magic circle against evil going, or at least multiple protection from evil spells (a good thing to have in a wand). The protection ends as soon as we attack, but it would let us prep unmolested, and maybe keep Addie safe from attack while she buffs, heals, and crowd controls.
