DM Sinvel's Tales of the Night Watchmen

Game Master Sinvel Menter

Follows the journey of four new members of the Night Watchmen in the Great City of Azir.

Here is where we shall discuss stuff.

Malchius - Do you want to keep running with this Prince/Pauper bit? I looked through the avatars and nothing grabbed me (I need sullen!); if you've done likewise, I can make another pass, unless of course we actually want to play out some sort of connection between the two of us.

Just let me know.

If you don't want to keep the Prince/Pauer bit going, you guys remind me a bit of Rosencrantz & Guildenstern. You're just mixing up faces instead of names. :)

I like it, and if the GM doesn't object, it can open some interesting and imaginative role-playing opportunities down the road. We don't even need to actually have some connection, just two guys who happen to look alike. We can leave it with the GM, if you like, to see if he wants to do anything with it and put in some unknown family connection, act of the gods, or whatever; otherwise, it's just a fun bit of fluff.

I figured if I gave you the opening, you'd go with the whole, "Actually, you have my face" reply, so we're already improvising together fairly well in synch. Offer given and accepted! :)

DM Sinvel:

Do each of us have our own room and, if so, are they big enough to accommodate a brief meeting of the four of us?

Cheers!

I need to refresh before reposting. If everyone's game, I'm all for running with it! Good group!

OK, as long as yall are cool.

The Watchmen share rooms, two to a room, but they are plenty big enough to hold four people. Basically each room is split in half with a bed, desk, and chest on each side.

Now that all this has me curious, who would I share a room with if at all?

With your suspicions, there is always the occasionally disappearing storyteller! Just where do I go? Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are options too. :p

Xarina, there is one other female watchmen at this station. You are room mates.

Good info. Thanks.

Character Sheet Comments
All: Could you please put all of your skill scores into your character sheets? Even the ones you don't have ranks in. It would help me out, thanks.

Garret Nihk: Spot on. On your character sheet could you add Well-Informed to your list of traits.

Xarina: Looks great.

Malchius: Can you tell me where you got the Gregarious trait? I can't find it. Go ahead and pick out your three other languages you know.

Nathaniel: Looking good.

I have added all the skills that are able to be used untrained.

Likewise

The Gregarious trait? I think it was post two or three of your recruitment thread. :)

Gregarious: You keep a sharp ear out for gossip, politics, and current events concerning your beloved City. You gain a +2 trait bonus on Diplomacy checks made to gather information within the Great City.

I was waiting on the other languages, because I meant to ask you what languages would be reasonable for a wizard from Rahadoum to know, not being totally familiar with this area. He's more into the practical languages of the world, rather than all the esoteric Terran, Aquan, etc. planar languages, not planning on doing a lot of summoning.

I'll add the other skills during my lunch hour.

Haha, foiled myself!

Probably Kelish and Osirioni like what you have already, so feel free to pick anything else.

Thanks

You have no idea how difficult it was for me to use the format you had. Have to admit it does look nice though.

Do we wear uniforms, or go plain clothesed?

My guess is that we have some sort of symbol or item that identifies us. That is a good question though.

Y'all are so sharp. One step ahead of me.

Yes, the Night Watchmen wear arm bands; bright red with the symbol of a half moon in black.

Apologies. Just realized I flaked on adding the untrained skills. Not a project to do from my phone though. Will try to get it done tomorrow.

Okay, so I'm guessing Sinvel meant to ask Garrett to choose a skill check for the chase sequence, instead of Malchius.

And the skills entries you wanted have been added to the profile.

Yes, my bad. Thanks!

Okay, so soon my posting schedule is going to take a large dip. :( Probably no more than once or twice a week. Just thought I'd warn you before it happened.

OK, how long will this be happening?

A few weeks, maybe. I've been wanting a computer that isn't on loan, but this expense called "Food & Stuff" keeps coming up...

I understand. I'll give you a day or so if its an important action and then roll for you after that. Thanks for letting me know and good luck!

Is it illegal for a citizen to withhold information from the Night Watch?

Nathaniel Briton wrote:

Not necessarily. If it was a high profile case then the Watchmen could put some pressure on someone, but that isn't the case here.

At this time I will not be using anything from the ARG. Thanks for letting us use it though! :)

So it's starting to look like I'm going to need to get a new charge cable for my computer. It's been acting up the last few days, and today it finally stopped charging my computer. So if no one hears from me for a while, don't worry, I haven't forgotten you. It just sucks that I might not be able to participate in all my games! :(

No worries Garret! Thanks for the heads up.

So... who thought I was dead?

Turns out it wasn't the charger cable. See, the loop on my laptop bag broke one day while I was walking and it fell. This cracked the motherboard in three places.

Honestly, I've had plenty of chances to get online, but without all my pdfs(and music), it just didn't feel right.

With any luck I'll get my computer back today though!

You are correct, Sinvel, in that I got my computer back! Unfortunately it doesn't seem to like me anymore. I'm having a friend of a friend look at it now. Don't know when I'll get it back, so until then it's library computers for me...

I'm back either way.
