Perhaps the best place to start is where the will-o-wisps are located. Once there we can worry about finding your lantern or use a different one. As it was asking questions Kurag laughed at the irony of the situation. Here they were on a mission to save Trunau and possibly the entire area from a massive orc and possibly giant invasion and they were detailing all of their secrets to anyone and everyone. Hopefully this will-o-wisp played nice. If not then Kurag was going to have to try and take it out before it fled and informs their enemies.

NARRATOR GS Map / SS MAP/

The will-o’-wisp dances excitedly in the air. If orcs entered the area, they would find no mercy and will not have time to answer questions! It says rather angrily.

It then starts floating a little calmer.

When we, the druids of the Council of Thorns, stood against the orc hordes of Belkzen, we made our last stand here in Ghostlight Marsh. Close to death and with the majority of our powers exhausted, we knew that defeat was imminent. But if our bodies could not defeat the rampaging orcs, then perhaps our spirits, reborn and rejuvenated, would stem the tide. Feeling we had no other choice, the Council of Thorns decided to sacrifice ourselves in a powerful ritual. Silvermane and Dewfrost were chosen against their will to escape and keep our memory alive. Each was given a ghostlight lantern to find their way back. Reincarnated as vengeful will-o’-wisps, the Council of Thorns managed to drive the orcs from the swamp, feeding on the orcs’ terror. Although
we lost our druidic powers when we transformed into evil aberrations, we retained our memories of our former lives, and we have remained guardians of Ghostlight Marsh ever since.

Run they did! Such foul creatures. We had not heard any news of Dewfrost until Ingrahild and her brother returned with his lantern.

At this Ingrahild pipes in. We got this lantern from some orcs we had ambushed as we were searchin' for our kin's tomb. He said it had been in his family many years fore we kilt him. He did say fore he gave up the ghost that they had kilt a tree-hugger in dis area fore they barely 'scaped themselves! She looks sad, I fear Dewfrost is dead.

Mossmoon leads you all to another clearing in the marsh which contains a strange collection of pale, spongy spheres 1 foot in diameter. Mossmoon intones, My brothers or what's left of them! Put one of those husks into your lantern. Gently! Please!

As soon as a dead will-o’-wisp is placed within the lantern, the lamp emits a beam of light that points to the druid circle that serves as the entrance to the Vault of Thorns. Mossmoon can confirm Silvermane’s account of how to open the portal (by washing the lantern’s light over the central menhir). Be careful of the central menhir for it is trapped.
