Male Elder GM

Note that I moved Slei to where she could attack without going in the smoke. I hope that was the intention.

Garm stabilization: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12

The orc nearest Eldan pursues the elf, but fails to connect on its attack.
falchion: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 122d4 + 6 ⇒ (1, 1) + 6 = 8

One orc clambers over the barricade near Frum, drawing an attack from the guardsman. The sergeant's slash stops the orc from advancing further.
Frum opportunity: 1d20 + 9 - 2 - 4 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 9 - 2 - 4 + 1 = 172d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 5) + 6 = 16

Three other orcs swarm the sergeant.
falchion: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 252d4 + 6 ⇒ (2, 1) + 6 = 9
confirmation: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 262d4 + 6 ⇒ (3, 1) + 6 = 10
falchion: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 232d4 + 6 ⇒ (4, 3) + 6 = 13
falchion, higher ground: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 6 + 1 = 192d4 + 6 ⇒ (4, 2) + 6 = 12
In spite of the sergeant's defensive mastery, all three orcs strike grievous blows. The sergeant is barely on his feet.
Other orcs advance after recovering from the logs.

The orcs at the upper barricade attack Giles and Ziggy, and one steps forward to attack Slei through the barricade.
falchion vs Ziggy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 252d4 + 6 ⇒ (1, 3) + 6 = 10
confirmation: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 72d4 + 6 ⇒ (4, 4) + 6 = 14
falchion vs Giles: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 202d4 + 6 ⇒ (1, 2) + 6 = 9
falchion vs Slei (cover): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 142d4 + 6 ⇒ (3, 1) + 6 = 10
Zigil and Giles are badly wounded, while Slei ducks below the rail of the barricade.

Fort: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
The orc in the smoke recovers.

Grodar attacks the drummer through the barricade and connects once, yet the skald still does not fall.

That's 10 damage to Ziggy, 9 to Giles, and 32 to Frum this attack.

Zigil strikes down the badly wounded orc.

DM:
Thanks. I do know, but I'm just not seeing a lot of options, especially with a 20' move. I was gambling that the attack would drop him. If I thought I'd missed, I was going to 5' step. I guess I could have withdrawn instead, but I thought we really needed to thin the ranks because I don't think Giles and Slei can drop them all in one round. I think I need swift casting AND selective channeling feats.

Eldan takes a 5' step back to AE41, centres himself and concentrates briefly on his ring, activating the arcane bond, recalling yet another Stone Call. Casting the spell, he aims it at AE30 to get the most Orcs. "Hold on just a little longer Sergeant!"

Stone Call = 4 + 6 + 1 = 11

Male Elder GM

Area in the bright blue lines is difficult terrain again, until Eldan's turn Round 14.

Rocks pound down, and a half-dozen of the threatening orcs fall.

The drummer backs away from Grodar, and with a last-ditch effort casts a spell at the brawler.
Ear-Piercing Scream: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 4) = 9
Grodar needs to make a Fort save.
The effort takes up the last of the skald's orcish frenzy, and he collapses to the ground. The other orcs sag visibly without the enraging drumbeat spurring them on.

Con check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20

Note that you also need to make a concealment check when you attack the orc in the smoke (1d100). Of course, he needs to make saving throws, which is worse.

Expert Defensive slash!: 1d20 + 9 - 2 - 4 ⇒ (2) + 9 - 2 - 4 = 52d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 4) + 6 = 14

Male Elder GM

The orcs continue to pursue the sergeant, and strike at him with their falchions. Frum uses his defensive expertise to his advantage.
