Azrael* |
I think Azrael is up.
Azrael, unsure what manner of demon they face asks What is this foe? He thinks hard to try to recall if he knows something of it.
Knowledge Religion: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8 I know, likely need Planes.
But nothing comes to mind. With his new friends at risk he chooses to use a Smite in the creature.
fires two arrows at the remaining demon.
+1 Composite Longbow: 1d20 + 10 + 1 - 2 - 2 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 10 + 1 - 2 - 2 + 4 = 221d8 + 3 + 1 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 1 + 4 + 4 = 15
+1 Composite Longbow: 1d20 + 10 + 1 - 2 - 2 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 10 + 1 - 2 - 2 + 4 = 211d8 + 3 + 1 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 3 + 1 + 4 + 4 = 17
Sorry all the modifies. I can explain them if it gets too complicated. Smite adds +4 to hit and damage and +4 to AC.
DM Raltus |
Sorry I meant that yes it was back to the top of initiative, so Azrael could go and did.
Lynn's blow is stopped by the Demon's hide, her new heavy mace didn't have enough force to leave a telling blow.
The Demon seeing it is being slowly surrounded, slide away from Iko and Lynn, an invisible aura further enhances the demon.

DM Raltus |
You are using cold Iron arrows? You kill it but please just say what type of arrow yo uare using
Azrael's arrow lodge deep into the chest and head of the Demon, the light from it's eyes fade and it falls into a pool of blue planar plasma. The Halberd hits the ground with a clatter.
There are many rooms on this floor, many unopened doors to explore.
Please move a cover from a room and tell me what room you want to explore.
DM Raltus |
P11 – Conference Chamber
A long table engraved with a relief map of Mendev stands to the east in this long room. A dozen bodies lie scattered about the room, each bearing a gaping empty hole in the chest.
P 14 – War room
Stacks of scrolls, books, maps, and more sit atop a large hexagonal table in this room. The walls are painted with detailed maps of Sarkoris, over which features of the World Wound have been painted.
P16- Barracks
Six cots sit in two orderly rows in this room. The bedding has been tossed on the ground, and an iron lockbox lies on its side, empty. A lidless box holds scraps of moldering food, while a pair of large barrels nearby look to be filled with water.
P15 – Scrying Chamber
The southern portion of this room holds a wide alabaster basin filled with bloody entrails. The outside of the basin is carved with images of warriors around a raised sun, holding longswords aloft. A flight of stairs ascends to the west.
The bodies on the floor have a trace of magic on them, Animate Dead but the magic has expired.
P12 – Library
Bookshelves line the walls of this small library. Many of the tomes have been torn to shreds, and smoldering piles of ashes fill the room with an acrid stench. One small stack of books on a circular table seem to have escaped destruction.
Treasure: The surviving six books are history texts, tomes on geography, and tactical manuals. Each is worth 50 gp. The seventh tome is a manual of war.
P13 – Aerie - Several stacked horizontal shelves hold a number of small, straw-lined bird cages. A stack of parchment, three quills, a pot of ink, and a pile of tiny cylindrical objects cover a nearby table, while a small wooden door is in one corner of the room.
There are a number of small pieces of what look like birds on the ground, a large deformed body you saw well before today lays on the ground as well covered in small wounds.
This is a demonic Giant fly, it looks like the birds tried to defend themselves and killed it eventually before the surviving birds escaped.
Lynn Warhaven |
Lynn checks one room after another and tells her companions what it's about. "Empty, empty, empty, empty, ewww... also empty. Lets head upstairs.
Tink probably is going to check anything magic and bag the stuff. Waiting if someone objects before moving upstairs.
Iko_ |
Iko Presses his fist into his open palm and lowers his head in concentration and as anyone who watches see's some of his wounds start to close and heal.
Iko then looks up. "I too am ready to move on."
DM Raltus |
The group goes room to room, looking for anything of interest or valuable to return to Defender's heart. In one room you find a bunch of paper work detail troop movements and the current status of the City of Kenabre's as well as Mendev as whole and other countries surrounding the World Wound. There is a document about the Lost City of Drezdan as well and how it is currently occupied by a smaller force.
The stairs to the 3rd floor are in the scrying room.
DId anyone want to clean that up?
Lynn Warhaven |
"I was expecting to smash demons, not consecrating a shrine. I can prepare that for tomorrow, but even then I'd be the wrong person for that. The shrines here are for Iomedae. But it seems to be a problem to find a true at heart Iomedaen here in Kenabres today." Lynn replies.
Lynn Warhaven |
"What?" Lynn asks, turning on her heel to check what Tink found. "Did they do dark rituals here? What's that bowl in the floor for anyway? I don't think that was built in this room for disembowelling crusaders."
Lynn Warhaven |
"I have no idea how to properly bury entrails. Or how to get rid of them in an easy way. But I guess whatever way it will be it has to be outside." Lynn hangs the mace at her belt and puts the Glaive at the wall. Then she opens the window and starts picking up the gore with her hands. It is disgusting. The stink and the slime, and if you pick it up at one end everything comes along and then most of it slides through your hands again. It's a bowel turning work that is set before her.
Iko_ |
"Rotting entrails will most likely bring about more carrion. I would suggest burning it. Is there nothing we can throw it into and set it aflame." iko suggests.
Then looking around he sees the papers and asks. "What is this about the Lost City of Drezdan? I have not heard of it."
Azrael* |
You are using cold Iron arrows? You kill it but please just say what type of arrow yo uare using
Azrael only buys cold iron arrows. Some are blanched with silver or adamantine, but all are cold iron. Also since he was smiting I think he was bypassing DR regardless? I'll have to check that.
Azrael* |
Not trained in History.
Azrael looks upon the carnage and desecration with a heavy heart. This,... this cannot be left this way. We must at least bury our fallen comrades and, yes, burn those entrails. When we depart we should bring back the bodies and then return with a priest of Iomedae.
Lynn Warhaven |
Once all entrails are removed, Lynn watches her hands and considers using her magical cloth on them. But as she would have to reach into th epocket first with all the gore at her hands she decides to use water instead. She casts create water and washes her hands with it over the bowl. "I really hope those entrails can't be used to create some kind of undead."
DM Raltus |
After what feels like a long time cleaning up dead bodies and loose bowel the area is as clean as it is going to get, Azrael empties his water skin into to the bowel. After a second an image appears in the bowl, that of a Half elf with sickly dead looking skin, the room is dark and long shadows can be seen. The vision slowly fades away.
The stairs lead upwards to the final floor, the stairs lead up to the right.
Who is going up first?
