Fearless looks up at Cats and winks as he chuckles to himself. "Sounds like she was probably single and lived with dozens of Cats. Your type of gal I presume?"

Adalgrim pulls back his crossbow as he sets a bolt in place. "Let's go get Cat's his woman." Fearless moves up the stairs last to watch everyone's back, mostly his own.

He chuckles a bit as he mentally pictures Cats having a wife. Complaining about all the fur balls in the house, but then he blanches as his skin crawls at the thought of saliva and stomach acid mixed with animal fur.

He makes his way up the lower south/eastern stairs, starting a soft voiced prayer.
Desna, it is not with eyes but through faith- that true belief springs eternal. For those that don't yet believe, please show them the incredible power of Faith in YOU with something tangible they can see and feel.

I cast shield of faith spell (4th level) on Pinkie plus Bulls strength and Aid on The Mariner(3rd level casting). I did not reclaim the SOF spell.

With Pinkie hesitating, Cats takes the lead and slips up the stairs.

Literally.

Cats makes his way up a wide flight of stairs rising to a chamber that has almost entirely collapsed upon itself. Shattered pieces of wall and ceiling timbers, knotted like broken fingers, slump precariously. Despite the chamber’s near ruin, a number of tables, chairs, and bedrolls lie about the room. The western wall has completely collapsed, looking out into the mist shrouded central courtyard.

Zandalus’s guards have turned this hollow amid the second floor’s ruins into a flophouse. A square table at the room’s center is scattered with the remains of past meals and melted taper candles. Four battered mattresses serve as sleeping pallets in the room’s corners, most heaped with a mess of tangled sheets that look luxurious compared to the camp below. Two are occupied, one by Aggra, who sits at the endge of the collapsed wall staring into the mists, and another by a redheaded woman fiddling with some bottles. Two other big men sit at the table, playing cards.

Its at the top of the stairs, as he's trying to crane his neck high enough to get a good look around, that one of Cats' boots steps in something slimy - congealed blood, or maybe brains - and nearly goes out from under him. He manages to catch himself from going down, but not from gathering the attention of the two apostles sitting at a table.

"Hey! What're you doin over there!?" One of them growls.

Hearing the shouting Fearless pushes past Pinkie to see what is going on as he places his back defensively in the corner of the room.

Cats takes a snap shot at one of the Apostles at the table. The man calls out in pain as the arrow lodges in side, but he's tough enough to ignore it for the moment.

Throwing back their chairs, the two stand and ready sturdy clubs. Across the room Aggra glares back, annoyed at the interruption.

"I guess the last examples weren't enough for these crazy bastards. Don't kill him outright. He's earned a bag."

Fearless swings his crossbow left and right, trying to stay on target, though he can't get a clear shot. His mind, working on it's own accord jerks one of the chairs near the table into the purple man's legs.

"Oh yeah?!" Cats replies, struggling for wit. "Oh yeah? Well, with a cat like Pinkie, you think you'd be more...uh, shut up!" Cats shakes his head, unable to muster a comeback.

Brother Butterfly holds back the Mariner, trying to wait for a lucky moment, but things are moving too quick upstairs.

Pinkie runs up to take position next to Cats, who fires two more arrows into the room. The first misses the injured Apostle, but the second takes the man in the stomach. He groans and begins cursing, but his words are cut off as a chair flies past his face and smashes into his partner, knocking him clean off his feet. His head smacks the ground like a ripe melon and he goes still.

The apostle's eyes widen as the Mariner stomps into the room in furious rage.

"No no no NO NO...!"

The Mariner's bill cleaves off the man's arm and he goes down in a widening pool of blood.

The female apostle screams wordlessly, grabs one of her bottles, and hurls it across the room.

The vial lands short, bursting in a whoosh of flames that singe the Mariner, but leave him mostly unharmed. 1 damage from splash

The Mariner blocks his face from the burning liquid, then throws down the polearm and yanks out his longsword and hefts his shield. Steam and smoke rising from his mostly bald head, he stalks forward and throws the table aside, murderous look in his eyes, "Honey,... you got real ugly..."

Fearless pushes past Cats and BB and slides to a halt in the room. Seeing the chaos and moving chairs he panics and sticks to the dank and dark corners of this fresh hell. Shakily his jands rise and he fires a single bolt at the orange patient.

With all of her minions defeated Aggra looks at the numbers against her and sneers. "We will see, fatman." She says, stepping sideways and backing up into a ruined hallway. Hands still at the ready.

She's got a ready action.

I go last in initiative so I have to wait to see where others end their move and action. But he's starting to move up and forward.

Moving his way forward. Stalking the serial killer and as he comes close to approaching Cats, The Mariner charges in a straight line right at the lady. Side stepping - because NO ONE wants to be in Mariners way when he's ready to crush skulls - he reaches out to touch Cats.

Pinkie waits for the mariner to move into place and moves in behind him and tries to tumble past him and the Baglady to try to stop her stop her retreat.

Cats fires an arrow, but his aim is so bad that Aggra doesn't even need to dodge.

A stone flies up at Fearless' command and smacks into Aggra, but deflects off as if it struck something harder than skin. She only appears unarmored.

The Mariner rushes her, giving her a deep wound along her arm with his sword, but takes a kick that deeply bruises his leg.

Luck on his side, Cats fires two more shots. Skill trumps luck as Aggra deflects the first good shot with the back of her hand (deflect arrows), but luck wins out with the second that punches into her shoulder.

Fearless takes a shot as well, by his aim is only to distract, which it does.

The Mariner stabs Aggra again, but the tough old woman is just as tough as he is and refuses to go down. As he steps aside, she lashes out with an elbow that rattles his shield.
