Hey All--
We've had a few drops in our long running PbP Carrion Crown game. We are in book 4, the game doesn't move too fast, but need a new yahoo or two.
We are level 10 and it truly doesn't matter what class/role you bring as it's way more important that you bring a yahoo that excites you and that you want to RP rather than fitting a notion of role or class.
PM me if you want to know more. If you've already played, that's fine, just avoid the metagaming, if you haven't played and think that you someday night...you won't and this is your best chance to experience CCrown. :)

I am very interested, but I need to get my Temple of Elemental Evil Campaign back on track as the GM. I MAY be able to swing adding Carrion to my game list. I'd prefer being told a character class that fills a need. I can roleplay anyone at anytime. So, circle back around to me if you don't have it filled in 2-3 weeks.

Yes. Get closer to Razzmatazz. There's a PC backstory coming in about 20 episodes. Priceless. Memorable.
GCP update - I'm on #55 now. SPOILER.
Brother said it was monumental - yes but not in a good way! I had an Ally Sheedy circa 1984. But Ben too?! Now they just killed the Little Shop of Horrors - brutal encounter.
"Cats" |
Man, you're on fire. Yeah, keep going. :)
On your way to Razzmatazz.
I still remember reading and re-reading and re-reading again and again the Expedition to Barrier Peaks. Man, I love that module. Gimme power armor, plz. Also a veggiepygmy sammich.

#GCP: Razz is all I'm thinking about in the back of my head 'What's this Razz? Character? Pet?' I had been surprised about the almost entirely new PC make up. Sir Will is prob my current fav - he sounds like an auto insurance guy trying to sell it to himself. To me, wolves and dogs are always hilarious as mounts, for some reason I always imagine them just constantly taking a dump at the most serious moments, as they look right at you in middle of combat.

Haha! That is awesome. I am still at around episode 50. We got super busy packing up here. But I do have a 14 hour plane ride to do some serious binge listening on.
I've been getting in about 8 episodes every weekend. And slowly dailing up the speed, about every 20 episodes, I'm at 1.4x sweet spot.

Not much on bottlecaps. I AM changing the Hit points method to GM roll and player roll and take the higher result. That is a good pick up from GCP.
"Brother Butterfly" |
Please. I'll take one for
Player 84155-1
Caprio Tuggabut P.H.D
Grand Lodge
(but really a member of the ultra-secret and ultra elite HalfFinders!)
Thanks GM!

STORY: When Rah lived in CA ::disgruntled tone:: he ran a short all-halflings campaign. We also revived it in Thornkeep with the usual suspects. [Little know fact: Rah created the first Lodge which Endlessform followed the idea with Flaxseed]
I created Zazzle pins and gave them out to the Halffinders.
BTW BB, be sure to create Caprio as an Organized Play Character, not the regular Alias. He won't show up in the PFS registry otherwise.
"Brother Butterfly" |
Ohh.. okay. I'll do that after work tonight!
P.S. There goes the neighborhood. Both BB and Mariner spilled the beans about the Halffinders. It's not ultra secret now is it?! There will be Hobbit from the Shire clamoring to join!

Hey Guys, I need help with the following description for the zero level Light in Pathfinder.
"
You can only have one light spell active at any one time. If you cast this spell while another casting is still in effect, the previous casting is dispelled. If you make this spell permanent (through permanency or a similar effect), it does not count against this limit. Light can be used to counter or dispel any darkness spell of equal or lower spell level."
So is that my caster level (which is 5th right now) vs his level? That I'm assuming is a spell like ability?
I didn't think I'd have this problem, as I thought I am out of spells - except Orisons - which Light is.
I may not cast the spell anyway as the soulsapping probably made dispelling the darkness now impossible. BB might head upstairs to help Mariner as he has an oil of align weapon and he knows that it works against the vampire. Or he might stay here another round to help give flanking to the allies. The +2 to hit is important.
"Brother Butterfly" |
@GM - that is what I was reading, but that doesn't make as much sense in the spell description. How can a 0-level Orison ever cancel out a darkness spell - which is Level 2.
It's just oddly written so I questioned if it was caster level.
It's a moot point as BB is going to run upstairs to help Mariner with the oil of align weapon.

Now I know Painlord's experience. Usually it's an amused smile walking around listening to GCP. Today was the first full burst out LAMO. Reference the final moments of the underwater boss battle.

Lol. Ayep. :)

We are having a good dialogue in character, so I didn't want to ruin it with housekeeping, but we'd for certain try to detect magic and at least take the Wand of ______ from the mirrored cultist. The wand where she hurt people badly. Maybe Fearless can use it.
Any magic that can be gained will help as we are basically now all low level fighters trying to get the kidnapped back.
P.S. The Negative levels could pose a VERY BIG problem. Missed save equals permanent negative level. If I get to LVL 7, BB can cast Restoration..... I need to ask the GM if the negative level will affect my casting. I did a check on HeroLab, and it takes off for negative levels, but still allows BB to cast the 4th level spell. Is that correct GM RAH? Or do you have the determination that I'm effectively a 6th level caster (which I assume is the right answer).
"Brother Butterfly" |
First, Fearless is 100% right. This is a mission we should not try to do.
I just can't see how we can't go in pursuit of the hostages from Cat's perspective, Mariner's perspective, and finally BB's driver.
To be clear, BB really doesn't care about the downtrodden and the mentally ill or really those that don't like bathing.
It's the terror he feels about losing the connection with Desna (again).
He's not anywhere close to Lawful Good and I don't think Desna's teachings are either- but it's the capture, torture and possible sacrifice of people that has Jasper on edge. Desna is all about personal freedoms and travel.
I am certain that the rest of the PC's would understand that BB's drive to go on this really, really tough mission is not to help people. I think he's more scared of the punishment from his goddess. If successful, he will certainly milk the fame and atta-boys. but right now he's scared of that Villa but Desna even more.

Good character development Mariner, because when you signed on to go back to the Villa... I (and BB) knew it was because of your loyalty to Cats. What you wrote above was exactly what I thought when I mentioned Mariner's Motivations. Good work again Sam. You have done well to bring Mariner's character into three dimensions.
Also, Props to GM for pulling off that whole Temple combat. That was REALLY tough to have all those NPC and enemy actions. Wow.
We also go directly to The Villa. No side tracks after picking up The magic short sword from Pinkie.
"Cats" |
Cats can probably be talked out of going immediately. After all, he feels like s&+~ and is sucking the ass end of cats.
There are a few good arguments to make that will give him pause. I await to hear them in catracter.
"Brother Butterfly" |
As mentioned above, BB will not try to talk you out of going immediately. Fearless already did that in character, but is following us and prepared to die. Mariner is also "all in".
So unless someone feels different, I hope that the GM fast forwards us back to the compound where I'd like to sneak to the gatehouse and use the Doorsight again. If the Gatehouse is open, and empty, BB uses doorsight on the first building to the right.
The only moving parts are if Fearless can actually get a wand of magic missiles and if we pick up Red Destiny.

*pfft* One attempt is not an attempt...plus...it came from a halfling...a *half*ling. It's more of half an attempt. ;)

Yeah, let's please find something to extend Fearless' productivity.

Getting a wand is going to take some role playing, diplomacy, and maybe a first-born child depending on how waking up merchants in the middle of the night goes.
Lol. As if we're capable of any of that. In case you haven't noticed, we *literally* just escaped the loony bin.
"Brother Butterfly" |
As long as there's a person to talk with-- BB's natural charisma - and a natural 20 roll should work out okay. I think I struck a cord with asking if the merchant knew any of the previously kidnapped; nothing like being personally vested in freeing a loved one, drinking buddy, newspaperboy that the guy knows.
If he's not there- we smash, grab, and pay.
I mean, the cultists actually killed all the local authorities.
"Brother Butterfly" |
Going off on your own - eh Cats? You must be itching to use that bottlecap right quick.
@GM, am I able to transfer my bottlecap.....juuuuust in case i need to do so. I'm only asking for a friend. A friend that is going to get mobbed by cultists and already spent his bottlecap.
