As I have no pause to feel remorse at the death of those creatures, so would I have no remorse for dispatching you. Especially if you don't even try to redeem yourself by giving us any information. "Ah, so the Paladin will allow the henchmen to murder. What does you god say to you about that!" and before anyone can stop her, she fades from view and the chain cuff holding her by the ankle falls to the floor. Aladir, knowing that Quinn and especially Hyram will look at where she was, turns quickly around and sees the demoness hand barely materialize where he had kicked her sword, then fade out and the sword is no longer there. A moment later, her voice comes from just outside the room, "I await you below Paladin, where you and your toadies will be slain." Rushing to the door, there is no one there.

Seeing the demoness begin to fade from view, Aladir turns in an attempt to grab her sword before she can take it with her, only to see her hand materialize and take it before he has an opportunity to retrieve it. He huffs out a breath, then looks to the others. "Well...it could be much worse. Now we have no reason for concern about slaying her when we meet her again, nor do we have a disguised succubus as an 'ally' while we comb through the place. Either way, we still have work to do." the elf comments. Once the others are ready, he will check the northernmost door of the chamber they are in (F15).

Quinn makes a grab for his blade with one hand, launching his dagger with his other at the fading image of of the demoness. The flying blade strikes nothing but the bare wall as Aladir suddenly makes a dive for the sword on the floor.

"That the Lady does not choose fools for champions!" Quinn responds to the now empty space. His dagger rematerializes in his hand as he follows behind Aladir at the next door.

"You said you have a spell to prevent vanishings like that, yes?" he asks Ezro. "Do not hesitate to use it when next we see her."

Hyram is livid that the demoness got away. He feels like shouting into the nothingness but feels it would be pointless. I look forward to meeting that one again-and her master! Aladir, still frustrated that the demoness got away, never the less searches the room just off where she was but finds nothing but dust. He moves to the southeastern double door and after the standard inspection stands back and lets Hyram and Quinn open it.

Again, another empty room, with another smaller empty room off it. There is also a short set of stairs down a few steps and then out to the parapet, but the way is filled with much rubble that has fallen down from the upper portions of the Citadel.

Moving back to the room where the succubus was, Aladir listens at the southern door and inspects it for traps. Finding none, Hyram and Quinn open the door and find another empty room(*). Back tracking further into the room with multiple exits, Aladir checks the remaining southern door, first listening and then inspecting for traps and pronounces it safe. Again, as standard, Hyram and Quinn open the door and find another empty room(*). Continuing to back track, looking for relatively open areas to go thru instead of having to spend hours clearing out rocks and rubble, you end up in the room with the two fiendish minotaur bodes.

Note: * - By empty, I mean no creature(s) (living or undead or dead) are in the room. The room might be dusty or not. Might have tracks or not. Might be defaced or trashed as demons are wont to do, or not. Unless someone objects strenuously (and tell me by PM), "empty room" is DM code for, nothing important here to see, move on. At least in this Citadel, there are a lot of empty room. If there is something of significance, I will mention it rather than say "empty room".

Aladir almost switched his standard bow for his rapier and charged into the fray after Quinn...then realized how suicidal that would be, considering it would put him in the direct center of all three demons, not to mention in easy striking distance of the dwarf.

Instead, the elf reverts to his standard pattern of attack: fire as many arrows as he can, targeting the same babau that Quinn took a swing at a moment ago. Thinking it might actually be a good time to finally use the thing, the last arrow Aladir fires is one he has been holding for some time: an Arrow of Evil Outsider Slaying! Aladir uses his bow and fires three arrows in quick succession at the demon in front of Quinn. He misses with the first arrow, but his second and third hit, with the third arrow being his special demon slaying arrow, and as it hits the creature it explodes doing substantial damage to the creature.

The demons, enraged at being disturbed by such human and tiefling fodder move up and attack, not using their spears, but dropping them and clawing and biting at the paladin and wounding him very badly. The dwarf looks up, closes the book he has, puts it into a pocket, stands and studies the situation for a few moments.

Hyram moves up and attacks the wounded demon, hoping to put it down. He succeeds in hitting it, but it is still standing. Quinn uses his Paladin abilities to swiftly cure himself of some of the demon damage, and they swings and misses at the demon in front of him. Aladir fires at the damaged demon also, and then using his mythic abilities runs up to just behind Quinn and fires a fourth arrow and the demon in the center goes down.

The two remaining demons attack, one on Quinn and the southern one on Hyram. While Quinn gets hit once, Hyram gets hit with all three of the demon attacks, one of them critically.

The dwarf steps up into the area that was covered with glitterdust, and casts a spell on Alikia, "I suggest you leave the Citadel now, before you die."

Alikia:

I suspect that is a "command" type of spell Alikia has to save against. But, just in case, if it is a "fear" spell, add +4 to her save because she is within 10 feet of Quinn and his aura of courage.

Don't forget, Alikia, that you can also use an Immediate Action to expend one mythic power and get a Mythic Surge to add 1d6 to any d20 roll. A Mythic Surge can even be used after you've made the roll to add to the result. Even if it wasn't for the Prayer spell, using that would've given you the roll you needed.

Ezro seeing that the group is having a hard time with the battle, prays to Iomedae to help them, and hinder their enemies in the battle. Alikia, really thinks that the dwarfs suggestion to leave the area is a good one, and momentarily turns to leave, however with the blessings of Iomedae, she overcomes the power of the spell and turns back to join the fray. Hyram, speaks at the dwarf, and then hits the demon in front of him. Quinn swings twice at the demon in front of Hyram, and wounds it severely. Aladir, continues to pile on the damage to the southern most demon, but the creature does not yet go down.

Once again the two demons use their claws and bite to attack Quinn and Hyram, and each of them is wounded more. The dwarf meanwhile, looks over the situation and yells at Ezro, "flee".

"Beidh tú ag titim do arm agus a thabhairt suas a chur chugainn . Tá muid ach anseo le cuidiú." With honeyed words, Alikia allows her magic to seep into her speech as it winds its way around the wayward dwarf.

"Don't attack him! He could prove to be a useful ally." Alikia calls out to the others, as she attempts to see if her ploy worked.

Ezro spell results:
Demon 1 (southern) - Beat SR, and even half of 23 damage kills it so dead.
Demon 2 (northern) - Did not beat SR so no damage.
Dwarf - Will: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 271d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23 - Made both, so 4 points damage and not blind.
.
Alikia spell results:
Dwarf - Will: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (16) + 15 = 31 - Made save, so Alikia spell has no affect.

I'll do a full post after Quinn, Aladir, Hyram do their actions but above will be the results of Ezro and Alikia spells.

Ezro Holy Smite centers on the dwarf, and engulfs the two demons. The demon in front of Hyram is killed outright, while the demon to the north is completely unharmed by the spell. The dwarf meanwhile, resists most of the spell and is only slightly damaged. Alikia casts a spell on the dwarf, but as he had been attacked by Ezro moments earlier, he resists listening to her logic and is unaffected. Hyram steps forward and nicks the dwarf with his sword. Quinn(bot) wanting to get the demons out of the way attacks the remaining demon but misses with both swings of Radiance. Aladir fires three arrows at the demon, using a mythic surge to help and hits the creature twice, damaging it.

The demon meanwhile continues its assault on Quinn, severely damaging the Paladin. The dwarf swings at Hyram twice with his light hammer missing both times.
