Sorry everyone, work has been eating me alive recently. I'll have a post up this evening I hope. IF not then tomorrow.
DM Papa.DRB |
It was a good past five days.
Daughter ran her 1st marathon. 5:37:22 in the female 35-39 age bracket.
Packed up and closed up camper for the winter.
Took grand daughter to Bronx Zoo Tuesday
Other than one post, spent the yesterday sleeping while recovering from the Zoo.
Other than a week off in December to visit relatives in Boston MA area, we are home till camping season starts in May 2017.....

Marcellano Gallenica |
Glad you had a good time, David! I can imagine it'd be nice to be home as well, though...
Also: at least the hound archon is making up for my abysmal rolls so far. :P
I've decided his name is Reggie, and I'm very proud of him.
Marcellano Gallenica |
I'll be traveling with family this weekend, so I may not have a chance to post before Monday. Feel free to bot me (and Reggie) if needed!
Cadas |
Reporting back in. I am fine but now have a stint in my LAD artery. I had mild chest pain while exercising but it seemed to be getting worse so I had it checked out. Total blockage, but other arteries had stepped up to help so I had little or no damage. Moral of the story, if you have chest pain, get it checked out.
i'll get a post up tomorrow.
Cadas |
Yea, I think I dodged a bullet there. I had been working out 3 days a week for 15 months solid. I think that is what helped the other arteries to pick up the load of this one as it began to block. Hoping that when I get back to the gym I'll have better endurance with better blood flow. But gotta take it easy for a couple of weeks. Hard for me to do.
Qetsiyah "Kizzy" |
Very sorry for my absence. My laptop charging cord got mangled and I lost power before I noticed it had happened. Then I had some trouble finding a replacement, but I am back online again! I'm working on a post right now.
Sorry to hear about the cardiac trouble, Cadas. That's some scary stuff! Hope you are feeling better soon.
Cadas |
I feel totally fine. I never felt any discomfort except when exerting myself. Thanks for the well wishes all the same. I hope I have this thing behind me.
Cadas |
Just a note about the masks.
First Cadas is Neutral and just channeled negative energy to harm the cultists. She is willing to use the masks. Confusion twice a day is a pretty nice ability for a body slot that is not much in demand.
Second they are worth a lot and I think we need funds for better gear. So Cadas thinks selling them would be a case of the end justifying the means. We have 14750 gp worth of masks here if we sell them all.
Marcellano Gallenica |
Totally down to sell them (though Marcellano would probably argue for trying to "sell" them to the officials or a museum or something like that for a reward) or for other people to use them! That's just Marcy's in-character distaste for all things evil.
More urgent, though, note that Ironbriar's mask does give you 1 point of CHA damage each time it's put on. Which isn't too much, but still.
Cadas |
I'll be camping starting tomorrow and will not be back until Monday. I am not sure I will even have cell service where I am headed. Have a good weekend.
Cadas |
All,
I will be traveling this weekend to help my daughter move into the house she just bought. I leave tonight and her new house is without internet until next Monday so my posting chance will be slim. I return Sunday night.
Marcellano Gallenica |
Glad to hear your wife's ok!
I've been having some difficulty getting posts in myself too...more related to the events of this past week...but I hope all is well!
Marcellano Gallenica |
Re: Kizzy, I haven't heard from her, but a lot of people in a lot of my games have been struggling to recover from the shock of the election last week. I'd say give her a bit more time before getting concerned.
Marcellano Gallenica |
:/ Understandable, but I hope she comes back! I've loved playing with her.
(And with all of you! This is a good group, I'd like to see it continue in perpetuity!)
Adolina d'Jhaltera |
It's also Thanksgiving or something like that soon? So that might be taking up a lot of time. I'm seconding Marcellano here - if we can keep her that would be great, she's fun and Adolina can't tank like she can :)
Robin the Jester |
@Cadas: Robin could pop invisibility on the nonstealthy party members to help us travel together stealthily. That would work poorly with Invisibility Purge, but Robin can Glitterdust Xanesha in Round 1 or the surprise round to solve that problem.

Marcellano Gallenica |
Also, Cadas, I can cast communal protection from evil if you'd prefer to use your slot for something other than magic circle. Might be handier since we can move around without worrying.
Marcellano Gallenica |
Ah, wait, I see the advantage: magic circle has a much longer duration. Up to you, Cadas; if we do go with MC then we have to stick tight to you, but I can't cast protection and get us all covered for long enough to last more than a round or two into the fight.
Marcellano Gallenica |
Ooooh, that actually does work because you can cast spells while climbing. So I'll just cast PFE right before we climb over the top ledge (or whatever the boundary is where we expect to meet Xanesha).
DM Papa.DRB |
I sent another PM to Kizzy. I let her know that if she does not respond either via PM or post that on Monday (December 5th) that I will look for a replacement.
She has not been keeping up with her PbP where she is GM from her bluedove ID, last post November 9th, nor here last post October 23rd).
If someone has another way to contact her to find out what is going on, please do and PM me if she responds.

Yes. I think summoning should break invisibility as an attack but it does not. More than one PFS mods has an invisible summoner casting summoning spells and then quietly moving to a new spot. Darn hard to deal with. Cadas just has that one summoning spell. I sorta hated to summon the vermin but I was concerned the Lamia would simply turn it against us if it was not immune to mind effecting stuff. Then she would have to spend another round dismissing it.
The giant mantis is subpar and I got lucky with two hits right up front. It might not hit again but can flank and present a threat to the lamia. She does not know how lucky it got on those hits so I am hoping she will focus on it for a round or two. It has a lunge type ability to where it can reach 20' as a full round action so the lamia is not likely to get away from it up here.

With Kizzy not entirely with us I'm happy to take any flanking partner I can. :)

I opened up a Recruitement thread for a replacement for Kizzy. We will do the same as last time. You guys PM me with your picks and the top vote getter is in (1st - 3, 2nd - 2, 3rd - 1).

Adolina d'Jhaltera |
Posted in the recruitment thread trying to clear up a few questions :) Do yell at me if I got things wrong! ;)
Adolina d'Jhaltera |
This particular game seems very popular - there were 30 something applicants when I got in I think... must be because you guys are all so awesome! :)
A first round might be good. Everyone pick 2 people and say who in this thread, that would give us 10 unless someone else picks yours, then you could pass a slot?
DM Papa.DRB |
There are some submissions that are not what was asked for, and can be eliminated from consideration at all.
1) None to extremely minimal fluff
2) Not a 7th level character (one is 1st and one is 6th that I have seen)
3) Too much magic (ie. over the 10,500 limit)
4) Just a post showing interest, but no character behind it.
That might get it down to a reasonable number.

Cadas |
OK. I have looked at all of the candidates, thanks in part to Robin's handy list. Thanks for that I was actually in the process of building such a list when I saw yours.
Here are some thoughts (and I am putting them here because I am fine with candidates reading them.) I like at least half of these candidates and would be pleased to add them to the team, but we have room for 1. We need some way to willow the list.
So, for my voting I am willing to drop any fighter with a con of less than 14 and a strength of less than 18. I know that is harsh and somewhat arbitrary (as I know you can build effective characters without those numbers) but by 7th level I feel a front liner needs to have his strength up to at least 18. And as the primary healer I do not want my job to be even harder by having a lower con fighter.
As Papa.DRB pointed out not all characters are leveled correctly. One I actually liked is only level 3. And not all have complete sheets. At least one had no ability stats to review. And even after our DM's requested preference for base races we have at least one non-PC race.
After these cuts I am looking at feats and class skills. I have to admit that for a Kizzy replacement I am giving extra points for those builds with a potential for bodyguarding. And Paladins and Rangers with spells are pretty nice. But even after all that its still not easy. I'll take my top 6 or so and look at posting history to try to rank them.
Thoughts?
Robin the Jester |
One of the level 3 guys actually rebuilt to level 7. I just didn't realize it and linked his profile instead of his post. I'll fix that link.
Here are the list of applicants who didn't get immediately disqualified for some reason (subject to change):
Milosh Sugravia
Bobo Bisonstep
Dekklan Springwall
Davorik
Delendir Farnes
Krogenn
Olaf Ironskin
Let me know if there's someone I failed to include. Also, I guess I have a leading candidate after all, after spending some time digging through the submissions.
Adolina d'Jhaltera |
Seven seems like a reasonable list to pick a top 3 from. :)
Marcellano Gallenica |
Thanks for being the keeper of the list, Robin! Haven't had a ton of time to look at it yet, but I will try to peruse it tomorrow morning! :)
Adolina d'Jhaltera |
David gave them until Friday to finalise so its not set in stone yet :)
