DM Papa.DRB - Moru Country (Inactive)

Game Master Papa-DRB

1 to 50 of 137 << first < prev | 1 | 2 | 3 | next > last >>

Recruitment ends on Friday, January 25th. Six characters will be selected and announced by Monday, January 28th. Characters will then be stat'ed up and play will begin by February 1st.

Initially all you need to provide is the following information in your response, though if you wish you can submit a full character sheet.

Name, race, sex, class(es if you intend to multiclass or take a prestige class), deity, PF Society faction, and alignment. Also a paragraph with character concept and a few sentence response to Venture-Captain Thorn:

I have here a journal from Pathfinder Fiall Garnwynn, during his travels in the Moru Country. He writes about a Morudhain legend where an ancient civilization lives or once lived in Mount Moru, that was descended form the early gods mating with dragons. I am looking for some Pathfinders to go to this Moru Country, get to know the local Shoanti tribes, and the area, and then perhaps to descend into Mount Moru and bring back the knowledge and artifacts of this ancient civilization, if it indeed does or did exist. He pauses, as if to let that sink in, and then continues: What skills would you bring to this mission, and why do you want to go?

General House Rules:

  • I run adventure paths / campaign box sets. You must be willing to follow the campaign premise and plot.
  • You are playing an adventurer. You must be willing, even eager, to go into situations no sane, average citizen would get into.
  • I will provide guidelines on what kind of characters would be best suited and will provide a generic plot/outline of what to expect, all of which you may ignore.
  • Characters level by GM fiat, rather then by handing out XP.
  • Do NOT rules lawyer me to death. I am open to discussion, and will post on the message boards to get other folks opinions, but if it is an “interpretation” issue, in the end what I say goes. The only guy that I ever asked to leave my table in 25 years as a DM, was a ruthless rules lawyer.
  • Do NOT have your character talk funny such as: Aye tis even so, tha wisps o tha swamps err much different looking as torches an lurin tha livin intah fear an death feedin upon fear as a person has a slow death. or This most humble one does not understand. This humble one believes what should be done is that we allow them to take us in. Nothing wrong with this, but it just drives me crazier than I already am.

Character Creation and Maintenance:

Anything within the PRD is available for use, with some exceptions:
  • My preferences in general, are single class, core rulebook characters, but others are allowed.
  • No Gunslingers.
  • NO CN, or Evil alignments.
  • Pathfinder RPG 20 point buy (1 Ability score 8 or greater, all others 10 or greater, *after* racial adjustments)
  • Two Character Traits (1 can be a PF Society trait if you wish)
  • Maximum hit points every level
  • Average gold for class at 1st level
  • When you stat up your characters, I will audit them in gruesome detail, and expect them to be kept up.

Rule changes:

  • Create item change: Caster Level (CL): If Caster Level is listed as a requirement, it may NOT be removed at a 5 spellcraft penalty.
  • Hero Points will be used. Feats / Antihero not allowed.

Suggestions:

  • You start in Kaer Maga, and will take a boat up to the head of the Yondabakari River. Then cross the Mindspin Mountains northeast to the town of Meadowvale which is in the southeast corner of Moru Country, in Varisia on the border with the Hold of Belkzen.
  • On the map, you see several “landmarks”. Also various Shoanti tribe locations. Being Pathfinders yourself, all this should be of interest before descending into Mount Moru.

With 6 characters, my suggestions would be:

  • Tank – fighter
  • Divine caster – cleric
  • Arcane caster – wizard
  • Skill & Knowledge monkey – rogue (although an archeologist bard sounds cool)
  • Secondary divine caster/tank – ranger, druid, multiclass
  • Other, perhaps bard or other secondary arcane caster

A barbarian, or paladin, etc. could be used in place of a fighter. A sorcerer could be used in place of a wizard, etc. As I tell my home group, you don't have to kill everything to “overcome” the obstacles. Negotiation, diplomacy, intimidation, taking another path, or other means to get the job done are all valid and all earn rewards. That said, there is a lot of “dungeon crawl” in this campaign especially once entering the Mount, so plan accordingly.

PbP rules:

  • All the above is what I give to my guys in my 25+ year home group when starting a new campaign. With a PbP, the “suggested” classes will be most likely what is chosen. The 5th character probably a ranger, only the 6th character is wide open.
  • To speed up play, I will roll perception and initiative for the group.
  • Encounters will be changed or removed from the AP/Box Set and there will be more story and RP rewards.
  • Talking is in Bold. Thoughts are in Italics.
  • Look at my profile for DM Papa.DRB. Everyone should do the same for their character after they are stat'ed.
  • Please provide your timezone in GMT. I am in upstate New York, USA, GMT -5. This is a long campaign, and the players and I, need to commit to posting at least once per day (more if able) from Monday thru Friday, and if possible on the weekend. If someone misses a day, I will bot them during combat. If someone misses two weeks or consistently misses, without explanation (ie. going on vacation and no internet access), I will replace them. As for me, the week between Christmas and New Years my wife and I visit her brother in Boston MA and during July or August we usually go away, sans laptop or I will end up sleeping on the couch, for two weeks, so during those three weeks there will be no posting.

DM Papa.DRB

I really like the way this sounds. At the moment I have only an idea of what I would like to submit, so no character sheet at the moment.

Name: Dain Harladorn ("Rockheart")
Race: dwarf
Sex: male
Class(es): Straight up fighter (migh check on some PrC's as Dwarven defender and alike down the line, but I doubt it)
Deity: Grundinnar
PFS faction: Grand Lodge
Alignment: Lawful Good

As stated above, at this time it is still simply an idea - an honest, good aligned dwarven fighter who really cares about the "good cause". He is not grumpy or bad-tempered, rather he would be good natured, quick to laugh and to forgive, slow to judge. He would be even somewhat old(er), probably a younger son of an extended family he really loves - bit instead of love for gold and riches, Dain is moved by "wanderlust", simple wish to know what hides behind the next hill, behind the horizon. A small quirk though - when fighting (and only then) he would probably be spilling dwarven curses like crazy, but only when fighting.

I am still not sure what would be his fighting style, most probably a simple sword and board (non-optimized, I know), or maybe, just maybe a (dwarven) reach weapon and Combat expertise for a number of AoO's. I will think on him a bit more and add as appropriate...

"Well, isn't it obvious lad? I will be bringing world famous dwarven sense of humour, along with our natural grace and refinement?! Just kidding lad, relax. Dain here is known for strong, steady hand and sound mind. Aside from my armour, shield and my weapon, I bring experience gathered in various places across Varisia, as well as something lots of younger people prone to adventuring lack - common sense"

EDIT: Forgot my time zone - I am in Europe, so I am 6 hours "ahead" of you. Central European Time - CET (GMT +1)

Count me interested.

I would like to go with a cleric that can mix it up some in a fight.

This cleric that was marooned in Cauldron will be modified to cover the divine and healing. I will probably change toughness to selective channeling, as it turned out I didn't need toughness, but could have sure used selective channeling.

I caught your message in my lfg post so I thought I'd look in. I'm definetely interested, though I'm unclear where exactly this campaign takes place. Is it Varisia? I'm not familiar with the PFS stuff beyond mention of it on the boards. I'm willing to look into it if need be, but I don't have a "PFS faction" at this time.

Okay, here goes the actual application:

Name:Zorvel
Race: Elf
Sex: Male
Class: Alchemist (Vivisectionist)
Diety:Nethys
PFS Faction: Not currently applicable
Alignment: Neutral (Not the annoying, random neutrality. He leans more towards good and is loyal to his allies, but doesn't support either side on principle. His one true passion is knowledge.)

Zorvel is an elven scientist of sorts who is driven to learn life's secrets firsthand. His passion is anatomy, and he uses that knowledge equally in healing and in combat, though he much prefers to heal someone than to kill them. He left his friends and family back home for the freedom to learn as he pleased, where he pleased.

Zorvel makes a 'hmph' noise as he considers his answer. What you are looking for is more than a simple scholar or warrior. You need someone with academic interests as well as the ability to handle themselves well enough to make it back alive without slowing everyone else down, correct? Zorvel smiles a knowing smile. Look no further. What you offer is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, even for an elf. I wouldn't pass this learning opportunity up if my life depended on it.

Time zone: GMT -6

Edit: Corrected some wording

This realy looks awsome im in bed right now with the ipad so ill be comming back to this tomorow :-) Realy hope i have a shot with an experianced DM like you as i am a nood on pbem games (none as of yet) i do play pathfinder for about a year now about twice a week trying to Gm a tabletop game myself

@Vosche:

Varisia. On the right hand side of the map, you should see "The Cinderlands" and to the right of that is the Mindspin Mountains, and you should see a label "To the Hold of Belkzen". This campaign is placed right about there, perhaps a tad bit east.

PF Society faction information.

Well, it seems to redirect me to the main page every time I attempt to click on one, but from those little paragraphs I could say I like the Sczarni personally.

Sczarni

Interested.

I am thinking a human Wizard/Eldritch Knight.

More detail to follow

Sezira Shalan.
Elf
Female
Rogue
Pharasma
Shadow Lodge
Lawful Neutral

Sezira has turned in the arts of stealth and infiltration ever since she was young. Having served her family for almost 100 years helping the rise of her house. She was sent to join the society to further increase their standing. Approached by the shadow guild who had noticed some of her efforts, she quickly joined. Seizing the first opportunity to prove her worth she seeks out thorn.

Processing all the information she pauses for a moment.
"My skill in stealth will be a great asset and I can blend into the community gathering necessary information. If things go wrong or other actions must be taken I am more than capable." Her athletic build certainly shows years of discipline. You can tell she takes her task seriously.

Grand Lodge

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Name: Kyomi Aiki
Race: Kitsune
Sex: Female
Class: Kitsune Trickster
Deity: Daikitsu
Alignment: Caotic Good.

Kyomi is a little "con-man", She loves Tricking people, Gain advantage of them using her appearence, lying, but mostly making Jokes. Just for fun. She is also really curious, so if something is interesting, she will likely try to find more about it and maybe steal it.

She is always on the move, mostly because she always gets in some kind of touble.

Just as Thorn stops talking Kyomi answers with a bright look on her face Ancient Civilisation!? Dragons!? Artifacts!!!? Count me in already!
You will find no one Better in the arts of stealing... she suddenly transform into a humanoid fox and take a sneaky pose

FIGHTHING!! Now she take the looks of a fierce orc in fullplate 1 foot taler than she was before

And of course Speaking... she says as she transform into what would pass for a wealthy prince or a rich merchant

than myself she ends the frase with a bow and her starting appearence of a young pretty and small girl with red hair, beautiful green eyes and ¿¡fox ears and two tails!?

Most of that was, of course a lie;
There are probably Stealthier rogues and Certainly better figthers but with that show, her skill, and, if needed, a little charm person Kyomi was certain that the captain would hire her for a nice adventure.

Might take a stab at it, but need some help... Is this a homebrew? Sorry not familiar with Moru Country.

@Black Thom

I purchased a box set that contains a 1-20 level complete campaign a few years ago, that is set in Moru Country. It is a 3.5 campaign and other than the name of the area is not world specific.

I have set it in Golarion and am using Pathfinder rules. Look at my post above (under Papa-DRB) for the Varisia map which details where I have placed Moru Country in Golarion. Essentially in Varisia on border with the Hold of Belkzen just north of the Mindspin Mountains.

Grand Lodge

Name: Aeros Spalding
Race: Sylph
Sex: Male
Class: Sorcerer (djinni)
Deity: Desna
PFS Faction: The Grand Lodge
Alignment: Chaotic Good

A gentle soul that is easily distracted, Aeros would prefer to get along with everyone if he could. He is a dreamer and a drifter that walks wherever the wind blows him.

If there is a driving force behind Aeros its his insatiable curiosity. Whats behind the door? Across the river? Why did she run off when they were so happy together? Whats the baker doing in this part of town this late at night?

"Why go? Because the wind blew me in this direction and Desna guided my feet! And Ive never been there before. Sorry? Bring to the group? Aeros looks around the room for an answer Well...I guess I bring a little magic to the group, my father was a djinni after all, and... fun. Thats it. I bring magic and fun!"

Im in Australia so GMT+8

well this looks good. I'm in.

Name: Hugh Ashford
Race: Human, Talden (mother’s side) / Ulfen (father’s side).
Sex: Male
Class: Cavalier (Standard Bearer, Strategist) order of the dragon.
Diety: Agnostic
PFS Faction: Grand Lodge
Alignment: NG

Personality:
Callum is a very calm and aloof man, although he can become furious at times. He is a skilled fighter, but dislikes fighting. He is fiercely loyal to his friends and allies, to the point where he will openly defend their honour in battle. He is a firm believer in teamwork and is always the first to say so. He has great pride in his country of Taldor, despite their many atrocities committed. Callum remembers that Taldor was formerly a great country, and hopes to rebuild his country. He does have a sweet side, shown with his love of carpentry and cats (preferably kittens).

and i am also in Australia : GMT+8.

oh, and:

What skills would you bring to this mission, and why do you want to go?

"well, I'm good at leading and organizing people in combat and i want to go because... um... I want to do something with my life and this may just be the adventure to see what exactly I'm made of. Oh! And if i do go please pare me with somebody nice... please?"

Sczarni

Name: Josef Guardson
Race: Human (Absalom native)
Sex: Male
Class: Wizard (Transmuter) - Then Fighter & Eldritch Knight
Diety: Nethys
PFS Faction: Grand Lodge
Alignment: N

Personality:
Josef is unlike most wizards. He is fairly intelligent and well-studied, and extremely disciplined. His primary talents, however, lay in the physical realm. His earliest expression of arcane talent was not a spell or cantrip, but rather a "distant punch" able to knock a man down a few yards distant.

He was brought into the militia soon after presenting such talents, and has been studying tactics, logistics, and military history since then.

What skills would you bring to this mission, and why do you want to go?

Besides physical might and arcane talent, Josef has an eye for logistical movement and dogged record-keeping and report writing. He is also an excellent asset for safeguarding and protecting the rest of the team, especially given time to prepare a defensive position. As a trained militia member and relatively new Pathfinder, he lies at the junction of magic and mundane needs readily.

RPG Superstar 2015 Top 8

Wow, this sounds really interesting, and I have a bard-archaeologist already written up in which this adventure would be right up her alley.

My one issue is that I also have not really done anything PFS/PF faction before, so if my char is a good candidate for the game, let me know what I need to read up on. I've started looking things up.

Misha's full char sheet is in her full profile here. This sheet was originally written for a Serpent's Skull game that unfortunately died a rapid death due to GM overload, but hopefully I wrote out all the references to the Mwangi expanse. :) I'll add in the stat summary later (I may rethink TWF as well but I really picture her fighting with two weapons for some reason, non-optimal as it may be).

To answer the questions:
Name: Misha Keroun
Race: Human
Sex: Female
Class: Bard with archaeologist archetype, single class
Deity: Certainly with a strong dreamer streak, Misha is most drawn to Desna, and prays to her for fortune on her journeys
PF Society faction: What I've read so far, Grand Lodge seems most appropriate
Alignment: NG

Concept: The daughter of a failed adventurer, Misha is a passionate scholar determined to make her family name known for its great discoveries (so that a) her father's deeds will be forgotten and b) she becomes famous--she's good at heart but not immune to the lure of celebrity). While she can be a bit reckless when she finds something exciting to explore, all too eager to get there and get going, she is a learned explorer and can lead or contribute valuably to any expedition.

Response to the Venture-Captain:

"What skills DON'T I have to bring to this? I am THE best archaeologist and explorer you are going to find in this entire city... or at least who happens to be standing in front of you right now. Traveling through the mountains? I will keep you from getting lost. Going down into Mount Moru? You will NEED someone not only who has braved the dangers and traps of underground ruins before--you have heard of my discovery in the hills to the north, yes? And I did that solo!--but you need someone who will be able to tell a priceless antiquity or what is documenting a unique moment in history from a privy rag. No point in sending mercenaries who wouldn't know proof of an ancient discovery of a lost civilization if they sat on it. Not to mention, I've been trained in swordfighting by my father since childhood, and I've studied with the bards enough to bolster the expedition party with invigorating and healing magic. So should we encounter hostile creatures, I will not be hiding behind my books and letting the brawn do all the work, either.

I want to go because there is no one better for this kind of venture than I, and you will regret it if you don't send me. I know I sound like a blowhard, and forgive me if I overstep, but facts are facts, Captain Thorn, and the fact is I am a great archeologist and that is exactly what this mission calls for.

Name: Borris
Race: Human (part Shoanti origin)
Sex: Male
Class: Paladin diping 2 lvl's fighter to get to Thunder and Fang
Diety:
PFS Faction: Dont know anything about PFS
Alignment: LG straight up paladin atitude slay the evil protect the good Savior of the good. with a bit of superiority complex

when the others stop talking Borris shouts:

"My Hammer my Heart and my Will."A second passes." I might not be the skilled or dont have powerfull magic as my aid yet, but my cause is just and you know i can be trusted to come in charging and protect the inocent. I am training the ancient Shoanti Thunder and Fang fighting style. I do not master it yet but all i need is a litle more time training in the field."I hope i can honor my grand-father. Finaly I have the oppertunity to show you I honor the shoanti way. May you rest in peace.

Borris is part Shoanti his grand father (on his mothers side). he was skilled a master in the ancient Shoanti Thunder and Fang fighting style and Borris wants to folow in his footsteps but his father a paladin ofcourse wants him folow in his. thorn between both ideals he is always a just and good man he wants to master the fighting style of his grand father but he knows he is a paladin at heart.

@DeathQuaker, and all

PF Society faction information. PFS Society plays an extremely small role in this adventure. It is more the get the group together, common bond, willingness to explore everything hook for the group.

Don't fret about not knowing much, the little blurbs above are enough. After the initial get together and perhaps a minor encounter or two, other than the "attitude" of a PFS adventurer, not much interaction at all.

-- david

Name: Radka Vrbata
Race: Human (Varisian)
Sex: Female
Class: Ranger
Diety: Gozreh
PFS Faction: Shadow Lodge
Alignment: Neutral

A Varisian through and through, Radka has never been the sort to stay in one place for any length of time. Following the caravans of her large family, she has traveled far and wide throughout Varisia. However, recently the young woman has grown bored following the well-traveled routes that the caravan follows, and wishes to strike out on her own for the time being. Young and overeager, she hopes to be as great as some of the semi-legendary figures told around the campfires at night... if not greater.

"Why do I want to go on this excursion?" Radka's eyes widen in feigned surprise. "As my second-favorite brother likes to say: Why not! I feel as if I'd die lingering here in the city for too long; we Varisians never like to stay put. Adventure and exploration is in our blood! Besides," she adds, flashing a broad toothy grin, "I know at least some of the area along the way to this Moru Country. Even if I am in unfamiliar territory, I'm more than capable of living off the land, and I'm more than happy to make sure my allies benefit as well. I may not look like much, but I'll do what I can to make sure everyone comes home safe in the end."

Am I allowed to post more than one idea? I've since had one more idea that is more in-line with your core rulebook preferences. But either way both are ideas I've been wanting to try to varying degrees.

I forgot to add that Borris is a folower of Iomedae His father talked days worth about "the acts"
And about what I can read on the PFS factions i think Borris would be part of Silver Crusade.

@Vosche, yes but lets say two to a customer and let me know which one you are interested in submitting.

-- david

Name: Redona
Race: Half Elf
Sex: Female
Class:Cleric (Regular - I've never played one before so it's probably the best place to start)
Diety:Sarenrae
PFS Faction:Silver Crusade
Alignment: Lawful Good

Redona is a kindly cleric who has spent most of her life within a temple studying the texts of Sarenrae. She is highly idealistic and loyal, especially to those who share in her faith, which she enjoys talking about to others. She can be timid, however, and as such isn't the best in social situations.

Redona looks nervous when Venture-Captain Thorn asks her what are assumedly his standard questions for all interested parties. "I... um..." She stammers at first, fumbling for words. "Well, I am pretty good with magic, so I can heal anyone who is injured... and I know how to hold a weapon. But I hope I don't have to very much," She admits to the man. "I... er... I want to go because I don't want any pathfinders to get hurt. And uh... They need someone who can help them if they do. I want everyone to come back... if I can help it."

Time zone: GMT -6

I think if I have to choose which one I'm submitting, I'd go with this one. I've never played a cleric before and I would like the experience.

Name: Delkaneth Sarga
Race: Human (Chelaxian)
Sex: Male
Class: Lore Warden Fighter, possible Archaeologist multiclass
Diety: Irori
PFS Faction: Dont know anything about PFS, but reading that link Id probably say Grand Lodge
Alignment: NG

Delkaneth is an avid learner, feeling that you can never know too much about a topic or a situation. He can very easily get obsessed about a topic and spend hours reading through texts or following a trail through the wilderness. But its uncovering lost secrets that is his true passion. Whether its a long lost crypt or an abandoned temple in the forest, Delkaneth is truly happiest when he is walking where no one else was stepped for years.

Delkaneth is sometimes rash enough to throw an axe first because he can't reach an opponent fast enough, but overall he believes that the mind is a powerful weapon and that there are better ways to fight than wielding the heaviest weapon while wearing the heaviest armor. And he's not shy about drawing his axes to prove it.

"The fact that no one has ever gone there before is reason enough to volunteer to go - can you even imagine the mysteries hidden there? The things we could learn from studying the place....too good an opportunity to pass up! I offer my axes and my mind to this quest: all are sharp and ready, feel most at home when exploring the unknown, and ready to fight for the honor and advancement of the Society."

Basic concept is bookworm turned adventurer (think Rachel Weisz character by the end of the second Mummy movie), a concept that fits well with both Lore Warden and Archaeologist which is why multiclassing is a future possibility. I think the 2 archetypes fit well together though so itll be interesting to watch the progression. Heavy on the knowledge skills and trying to "fight smart" vs "fire ready aim". Fighting concept Im working on is dual-wielding hand axes, giving him the option to melee or throw as needed. I dont know much about PFS play but if selected Im ready to learn and of course adapt my trait/feat ideas accordingly.

And Im in Orange County NY so same time zone as you.

RPG Superstar 2015 Top 8

You know I realized I had her mention "invigorating and healing" magic when only one of her spells is healing, and the rest largely utility (I was thinking about taking other spells but then that was the list I picked).

Oh well, she's exaggerating to sell herself anyway. :)

Name: Rikar Sarakin
Race: Human (Shoanti)
Sex: Male
Class: Ranger (Infiltrator)
Deity: None (if one is required, probably Desna)
PFS faction: Andoran
Alignment: Chaotic Good

Rikar looks at the Venture-Captain and says "I wish to go to find my lost love. I have looked for her throughout Varisia, but I have not looked to the East, where you would have me go. I will travel, and ask after her, and do not worry, I will fulfill your mission. As to what I bring - I am Shoanti, and although I am of the Storval Plateau rather than the East, I know Shoanti ways and the Shoanti tongue. I can track, hunt, and fight as well as any man you will find. I can survive in the wilds of that place, and ensure the survival of any who travel with me. I have travelled far and wide through Varisia, and have seen many wonders and known many sorrows. I would like to see this land of wonders inside a mountain. Perhaps those who live there can tell me what has become of her..."

Appearance and Background:

Rikar stands far taller than most inhabitants of Kaer Maga, being well over six feet of tattooed Shoanti. Slender by the standards of his barbarian brethren, the corded sinews of his long limbs suggest both strength and speed. On the crown of his shaven skull, Rikar bears a dark crimson tattoo, an abstract image of a hawk’s head. The hawk, totem of his birth tribe, the Shriikiri-Quah, is also brought to mind by his sharp features, black eyes and distant stare.

Rikar wears leather armor weathered to an indeterminate brownish-green, studded with dull metal discs. A stout, black bow protrudes over his right shoulder, a quiver of dark arrows next to it. At his left shoulder, the worn handle of a long-bladed sword is visible. On his belt hangs a small, vicious-looking mace, its head decorated with stylized hawk heads, the beaks of which protrude in sharp points. At Rikar’s side stands a dog of medium size, with bright eyes and a grey and brown coat speckled with small black marks. This is Goma, named for the small, peppery black seeds so prized by the Shoanti, who sprinkle them over their food, giving it a speckled look.

As is obvious from his appearance, Rikar is not native to Kaer Maga or anywhere near it. He was born the second son of a lesser chief of the Shoanti tribe of Shriikiri-Quah, the People of the Hawk. He spent his early years on the chilly heights of the Storval Plateau, hunting, learning to move undetected over the open, rolling lands of his home, and doing battle with enemies of his people. He imagined that his life would continue this way forever – until Noemi.

She arrived with a troupe of Varisian wanderers. She was young, exotic, beautiful – it was inevitable he would fall in love with her. Much to his surprise, she returned his feelings. Knowing their families would never allow them to be together, they chose to run away, and planned their meeting time and place. When Rikar arrived, however, he found his brother Tanrak awaiting him, rather than his love. Tanrak told him that he had gotten rid of the outlander distraction, and that Rikar could go back to the proper ways of his people. Rikar learned that his brother had sold Noemi into slavery, thinking he was doing Rikar a favor. In a deadly fury, Rikar killed his brother – realizing too late that he knew nothing of Noemi’s new owner, and thus had no idea where to search for her.

The Shoanti, and the Shriikiri-Quah in particular, have a strong taboo against kinslaying. Judged by his father and the other chiefs, Rikar’s sentence was to have his entire tribe hunt him, though they would give him a one-hour lead. His wilderness skills served him well, allowing him to escape without shedding further Hawk-Clan blood. But he has not returned to his homeland. He was wandered the length and breadth of Varisia, serving as a hunting guide in the Sanos Forest, routing out bands of orcs in the Red Mountains, visiting Korvosa, Riddleport, and other cities of Varisia – all with the aim of finding Noemi somewhere in their vast homeland. He has recently arrived in Kaer Maga, and is considering a return to Shoanti territory. He knows such a decision carries dangers, but Noemi was sold in Shoanti lands, and he wonders if that may be the best place to find her.

I'm on Pacific Time (GMT -8), and can post quite frequently.

As an infiltrator, my favored enemy choice is pretty key - what would you recommend based on this campaign?

I only have the Core, APG and Bestiary pdf, so I depend on the on-line PRD for everything else, although the Pathfinder Wiki and d20pfsrd are good sources for me to find things like deities.

Following are questions or not on each of the submitted characters.

Dain Harladorn:
fighter – Main weapon and fighting style?

Hugh Ashford:
cavalier – Main weapon and fighting style?.

Borris:
paladin/fighter – Main weapon and fighting style? Ok, my search fu is weak today, where / what is Thunder and Fang. Link please.

Delkaneth Sarga:
fighter – Main weapon and fighting style?

Diurn Selestro:
cleric – Ferocity is not a subdomain for Arshea, see the Pathfinder Wiki for his/her domains / subdomains. I have not detailed checked the character sheet, but the Cauldron references would need to go.

Redona:
cleric – Domains?

Aeros Spalding:
sorcerer – No questions.

Josef Guardson:
wizard/fighter/ek – Realizing that things happen in game, how many Wizard levels, Fighter levels, EK levels do you "forsee" for Josef?

Sezira Shalan:
rogue – Timezone?

Kyomi Aiki:
Kitsune trickster – The PRD only mentions one alternate human shape. Is there something that I am missing to account for the orc and "prince" shapes? Also, you are losing trap-finding and trap-sense as a Trickster, right? Timezone?

Radka Vrbata:
ranger – What combat style do you “forsee” for Radka?

Rikar Sarakin:
ranger – What combat style do you “forsee” for Rikar? Favored enemies: This box set uses a *lot* of different creatures. It is one of the things that I like so much about it. However, you get 4 or 5 (if we make level 20) favored enemies and 4 adaptations, so in no particular order: orc or goblin, human, elf, giant, undead, dragon.

Misha Keroun:
bard (archeologist) – No questions. Heh.. Yea, figured she was spinning a good tale!

David,

I would most likely make Radka focus on archery, unless there's a need for a stronger front line. I'll probably try to keep her flexible, though.

Also, a bit late: I'm also GMT -5 for time zone, same as you.

I only have the Core, APG and Bestiary pdf, so I depend on the on-line PRD for everything else, although the Pathfinder Wiki and d20pfsrd are good sources for me to find things like deities.

Following are questions or not on each of the submitted characters.

Borris:
paladin/fighter – Main weapon and fighting style? Ok, my search fu is weak today, where / what is Thunder and Fang. Link please.

Thunder and Fang (Combat)

thunder and fang::
You have mastered the ancient Shoanti Thunder and Fang fighting style, allowing you to fight with increased effectiveness when wielding an earth breaker and klar.

Prerequisite: Str 15, Two-Weapon Fighting, Weapon Focus (earth breaker), Weapon Focus (klar)

Benefit: You can use an earth breaker as though it were a one-handed weapon. When using an earth breaker in one hand and a klar in your off hand, you retain the shield bonus your klar grants to your Armor Class even when you use it to attack. Treat your klar as a light weapon for the purposes of determining your two-weapon fighting penalty.

Normal: An earth breaker is a two-handed weapon, preventing the use of a klar in one hand without imposing penalties for using the earth breaker one-handed. A klar can be used either as a one-handed weapon or a shield; it does not grant a bonus to AC during rounds in which it is used as a weapon.

The idea is ofc. that i wil get thunder and Fang as soon as possible this is why i dip 2 lvl's into Fighter as it costs 4 Feats as a human i can get it at lvl 2
human:
lvl 1
1) Weapon focus Earthbreaker (normal feat)
2) weapon Fighting (bonus feat human)
3) weapon Focus Klar (bonus feat fighter)
lvl 2
4) Thunder and Fang (Bonus feat Fighter)

at lvl 1 i wil be wielding my earthbreaker 2 handed and ill have a Klar and a 1h weapon to use when i want to sword and board.
when I lvlup ill be using my Earthbreaker and my klar

Grand Lodge

kyomi has a Magical Tail Feat that gives her Disguise Self 2/day as a Spell-like ability (and another tail) so she can take any form she likes including equipment, but is just an illusion (I have read the description of the spell and I cant change my creature type, sorry change the Orc to a Strong Warrior)

her objective is only to have fun and grow stronger to get all the 9 tails.

Yes, I have no trapfinding neither trapsense

Spoiler:
weapons - hand axe/throwing axes
style - two weapon fighting, axe in each hand. Mixing melee and ranged feats so he can do things like fight an adjacent enemy with 2 axes, and when that guy drops he can throw one of the axes at another enemy, then draw a replacement axe while moving to engage a 3rd enemy in melee.

Im thinking of things like the Strong Arm Supple Wrist trait, if I multiclass maybe the Snap Shot rogue talent, and even wacky things like Sliding Axe Throw as ways to go quickly, run in and take advantage of the fact that Im going first, and cause a little havoc beyond just the enemy in front of me.

I'm picturing the stereotypical action hero, moving from one target to another as he makes his way across the room.............

I'm at gmt+10. (Australia). Posting once a day at minimum. Usually check the games starting the day several times and for a few hours at night.

Bored of Kaer Maga? How can I have become bored of Kaer Maga? There's just so much more out there, I just know it.

Swek is a gnome alchemist who has lived long in Kaer Maga but is feeling the exploratory pull of her gnomish nature.

Her faction is Silver Crusade because... be good to each other, right? Or what's the point?

I've done all stats but equipment in character post.

DM Papa.DRB:

Spoiler:
Optimally, Wizard 5/Fighter 1/EK 10. That depends on how long the game progresses, obviously. Fighter level would probably come earlier rather than later (Character Level 2 or 4, most likely).

DM Papa.DRB:

:
Well, Hugh will most likely be welding a one handed weapon and a shield.
and his fighting style is based around the excessive use of teamwork feats, aid another, the cavalier banner and order ability's. His starting two feats will be:

Combat Reflexes (core rulebook pg: 119)
Bodyguard ( APG pg: 151)

and the feat given to him by Tactician ability:

Paired Opportunists ( APG pg: 166)

if you have any more questions just ask.

DM Papa.DRB - more info on Rikar:

Rikar will go for the "switch hitter" approach, picking archery as his ranger combat style but aiming to be effective in melee as well.

Thanks for the info on favored enemies - I'd have to think about whether to start with orc or goblin, but either one would give him some interesting Infiltrator Adaptations. I'd probably take darkvision as the first one, as it's very useful indeed.

All,

When I get up Saturday morning, I will look at this thread and post that submissions have ended. That is roughly 48 hours from now. I will then post by Monday morning the selections.

Scarab Sages

Name: Azizi Anum
Race: Human
Class: Alchemist (cryptbreaker/beastmorph)
Deity: Nethys
Faction: Osirion
Alignment: Neutral
Time Zone: GMT -5

Gods mating with dragons??? What is this, some kind of weird breeding program?

To the matter at hand. I am highly experianced at searching disused locations for items of interest and transporting those items to the appropriate markets. My particular area of specialization involves the detection and neutralization of certain environmental hazards often found in such locations.

You would be surprised how many loaded weapons, structurly unsound floors and carelessly placed spells one can trip over if not careful.

I also have some small skills with alchemical preparations.

The alias has a link to a full character sheet with my background.

Redona would likely have:

Healing and Sun domains.

Updating backstory today finally. Been so busy lately sorry dm...

I know you haven't made selections yet, but I mocked up the start of a character sheet (hoping the details arent too gruesome).

Delkaneth

Unless a new character is posted that just blows me away with it's awesomeness, I have "selected" four of the six. I am going to bed in a bit, and have to sleep on which characters to choose for the last two slots as there more than two very appealing characters for each those last two slots.

I'll be back in the morning to close the submission process and probably announce the six characters.

Night all,

My backstory finally...

Reveal:
Sezira was born into a upper class Elven family in Kyonin. Her family had worked for other more powerful
ones for centuries as spies and informants. Information was their currency. Her Father Elitherel had
begun to turn that around about 100 years ago. His intelligence network was vast and he used this to
rise his own family in power and influence. Soon they worked for only the most influential elves and any
others that could also afford them.

Sezira was born and watched this change happen. Being trained at a young age she was soon in the thick of
it. Tasked with the simpler jobs at first, soon she gained her fathers trust and respect as a capable
agent of the family.

She would travel where needed usually under the disguise as a human. Being a little shorter than most elves
made pulling this off not so difficult. As long as her cover held she could go places unnoticed, looking
like a simple traveller or servant.

For over 100 years she served. Her family rose from it's previously low position. She matured into a rather
stunning beauty, even surpassing most other elves in her beauty. This charm had it's advantages and she
used it to her and her families benefit.

She took on even more responsibility when her mother had her little brother and stopped to raise and then
train him also. She had been a pathfinder agent previously and Sezira found the stories she would recall
from before meeting Elitherel would make Sezira feel as if she was there. Arvestria, her mother was an
expert cambatant and would train her to use weapons when needed. Her weapon of choice was the Rapier, though
she was a natural with a bow as well.

When her mother could resume work of a more intense sort, Sezira would train with her brother Irith. Teaching
him the ways of a spy. They would train together every day and became very close, as if they were twins,
despite more than 100 years between them.

She knew he would be even better than her someday, he got everything right after only one mistake. One day her
father called them both and told them of a mission. Irith would take over Sezira's job here and she would
go to the Pathfinder contact in the city and ask for a letter or reccomendation, then head to Absalom and
become a pathfinder, using this to further the families influence and goals.

She was well known and liked by the agent and received the letter without hesitation and departed without
delay, but to pack the necessities and say goodbye to her brother. The journey was uneventful. She was
easily able to find the society's headquarters and was accepted with assurance that she would be tested at
once. Thus she finds herself before Captain Thorn.

i realy look forward do add more depth to Borris :-)
