Misha:
Dlallith seems very sincere. The Smith is a little unnerved by all this but he seems to defer to the elder female.
@Kreig - I put you just to the north of K12, because it is a very deep pit.

Dlallith looks over at Tawunn, "you should have just let him die. He worships dark things and does not care for his people, especially the children anymore, and he throws those he finds unworthy to the dragon in the pit. Perhaps it is fitting that he die by that beasts hands." She then turns to the smith and the two of them grab Tawunn and carry him over to the pit and throw him in, cutting his bonds at the last moment.

"We gave him a chance to defend himself, unlike what he did to the ones he threw into the pit."

Rikar's eyes widen ever so slightly at the prompt justice of the stone giants. "Well, they're slow and deliberative at some things, but it looks like they made that decision quick enough," he remarks grimly. "Though I suppose they've had a lot of time to consider what they'd do to Tamestone if they could."

Looking at each of his companions, he says, "I feel we've done a good thing here, and with less killing than we might have. Now shall we head west and see if we can pick up our quarry's trail?" With a glance at Kreig, he adds, "And I'll try to be careful about stepping into the middle of a bunch of giants, or whatever else we run across, okay? That was a tight corner for a fight, and I figured I had to get at the chief and put him down, even if it was a bit riskier for my own handsome hide."

Kreig - missed your nice RP post a couple of posts back, due to your ninja ways. Just wanted you to know you hadn't been ignored.

Telman also nods in appreciation at the giant's display of justice. "Man like you has a role to play. And that role requires you to get right in the mess and get a little dirty. I should have been covering you from further away so there was more healing magic for you." He turns his head in the direction that Kreig might be in, then realizs he has no idea where the dwarf is.

"We all play our parts and play them right, things work out." Or at least they should.....

Well my sermon for tomorrow is done. Took two days to write. So glad I only do one or two a year....

Misha:
You hear the giant bounce off some of the pit walls, and finally thud at the bottom, and then a gulp. You think it is about 100 feet deep.

Dlallith responds "yes, you may rest anywhere in our domain. We owe you a debt. And you may go anywhere. Be careful of the west, as only Tawunn has entered there. He told us of a mad giant in the next cave, and beyond that a chasms that contain evil creatures of the dark. One of them he worshiped. It is told that there is an entrance into the under dark from there, but it has not been found yet."

Everyone is full on HP and all spelled up.

Having rested for the "night", you set out early towards the cave of the mad giant.(K7)

You reach a big cave, maybe 50 feet across or more, whose floor is several feet lower than the entrance level. All sounds are magnified by the echo in this chamber, including your own steps and a rumbling, low breathing sounds coming from somewhere to the left… it is as if the darkness itself was slowly breathing in and out…

Rikar gives a glance at Kreig, then says, "Yep, we'll scout ahead. Going to be tricky to sneak up on anything with all this light, but better than me bulling my way around in the dark, eh? At least we can go quietly, if Kreig doesn't trip over a stack of china cups filled with little bells."

He pats Latys on the side in a long-practiced signal, and the pair move off together towards the large cavern to the north.

Kreig slips forward, his dwarf eyes straining against the darkness. He doesn't like the moaning one bit. Henods to Rikar as if to say let's get this over with.

Ran out of room on the "race/class/level" lines in my profile so from now I have created a macro to list the maps for each campaign. Here are the maps used here:

Moru Maps:

Stealthily moving to the north, Kreig, Rikar and Latys look into the next cavern. Stalagmites and other rock formations are quite high in this cave, some of them being in fact taller than a man. The unnatural wind you perceived before howls fiercely when crossing this area.

At the last moment, Rikar notices that two of the stalagmites are not rock as the two creatures each throw out a single tendril and attack Latys and Rikar.

Level Map Updated

Rikar, you get a surprise round single action before the tendril hits you, then we start from the top of the order with you again. Both Latys and Kreig were surprised.
Unless approached, the creatures will send out multiple tendrils against visible (or perceived) foes.

Wow, ropers! Seriously old school.

Fort: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19

Rikar sees the strange creatures and speaks to Latys, "Let's take 'em together, girl!"

Surprise round: move action to grant Stealth Attack bonuses to Latys.

To his surprise, a long tendril reaches out and he feels it wrap around his upper arm and begin to sap his strength. He tries and fails to figure out what these things are, then lashes out with his scythe at the tendril that has grabbed him. Once he's freed, he says, "Fall back, everyone! Let's fight these things from a distance!"

Standard action to attack tendril, then move action to move back with group.

Knowledge (dungeoneering): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8

Scythe, PA: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (7) + 18 = 25

Fort: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11

Latys feels her strength drained by the tendril and lashes out at it before bounding free!

Standard action to cut tendril, move action to move back toward group.

Claw attack: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (7) + 14 = 21
Claw damage: 1d3 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

Sorry to ditch you, Kreig, just trying to be a little strategic. If you get caught by the ropers, Rikar and Latys will come on back in and save you!

Misha, you are up, then ropers, then I'll rearrange the initiative order.

Roper attack; +10 each: 6d20 ⇒ (16, 8, 18, 17, 17, 20) = 96 vs Kreig Touch AC 16

Rikar and Latys both break free from the tendril that was gripping them, and move back out of the cavern. Misha steps up and casts a spell that also damages the roper to the east.

The roper to the west, as it has not perceived Kreig, moves up ten feet, while the other one shoots six tendrils at the dwarf and all of the tendrils attach themselves to him and pulls him closer.

Kreig DC 25 Fort:
Pass - nothing happens; Fail - lose 1d6 ⇒ 6 strength.

Oh, wow, Kreig. Sorry about that! Since they attacked with one tendril each the first round, I thought that's what they would continue to do, so I thought you had a decent shot at getting out of there. Latys and I will be back in the mix promptly, hopefully after our casters have dropped a bit of haste or some blessing of fervor on us.

FYI, they only got 1 tendril because it was the surprise round and they only get a standard action. Full attack is up to 6 tendrils.
