Assuming that you are going to go down the short incline after Rikar report on tracks.

Rikar figures that nothing has come past the savage drow warning signs near the entrance of the cavern, for a long time. While the slope is slightly muddy, there are no tracks that indicate that a dragon or other creature has been this way at all, or at least for a year.

Casting all your preparatory spells, you move down the 50 foot incline, and at the bottom there is an 80 foot wide cavern with you standing near the center, that extends beyond sight. The cavern has bits of green lichen on the walls, here and there providing a very dim light, but not enough to be of much use. About 40 feet from where the incline ends and the cavern wall begins, there is a body of water that extends out.

Misha and Telman look further out, and mention, "is that a ripple in the water? Perhaps 100 feet out."

Knowing that Misha's spell is definitely going to be a wake up call to he dragon, Telman quickly casts his gravity bow enchantment before taking several steps back from the rest of the party. He does his best to line up with the effect off the wall so he can easily fire on either side of the sound barrier.

Since arrows cannot go thru the wall of sound, want to position myself where I can bounce back and forth (ideally with only a 5' step). And back up a bit so I stay in visual range but we're not clustered in 'fireball' formation for the enemy.....

Misha runs toward the dragon, slightly upwards using airwalk so she is standing in mid-air. She stops about 60 feet away from the dragon.

Though she knows all it will largely do is annoy the dragon, it will still hopefully slightly slow it down and distract it, so she begins casting summon swarm.

Move, begin full round action as standard. (she'll finish casting as a standard next turn.)

Breath: 2
Latys, Therena, Telman - You are SHAKEN for 15 more rounds (–2 penalty on attack rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks) because of the dragons Frightful Presence.

Misha using air walk, moves up slightly and to within sixty feet of the dragon. She begins casting a spell that will take well into the next round to finish. Rikar is not able to dodge the breath, as he feels the burn of the dragons acid, thankfully the resistance put on him earlier ameliorates some of it. He moves to withing fifteen feet of the dragon on one side, while Latys moves to the other side but within striking distance. Rikar then swings his scythe and truly wounds the great beast, however about half of the damage does not wound the beast as it bounces off the creatures stone hide, while Latys only manages to annoy the beast slightly, and when he tries to trip it he fails. Therena archons, some missing because they are shaken at the sight of the dragon manage to do some damage to the beast, and she casts a dispel magic on the beast. Josef attempts to slow the dragon down so it is not able to make all its attacks, but the dragon shrugs off the spell. Telman fires many arrows at the dragon but only a couple hit it.

The dragon lets out a huge roar from the wound that the ranger gave him, takes a step and then lays into the ranger with all his attacks, only missing with his bite.

DRB - Rikar is under displacement at the moment, so unless the dragon has true seeing, you'll need to roll a 50% miss chance for each attack. Also, I'm not sure I understand your stoneskin description. The spell would have only absorbed 10 points of damage from Rikar's attack, since it was just a single hit, and it would not have used up the spell.

Since the outcome of both those things, especially whether all those attacks actually connected, will affect what I do next, I'll wait to post an action.

Realized I can just roll the miss chances and see what happened. Rikar started with 187 hp, including the temp hp from greater heroism. Took 52 from breath weapon, leaving him at 135. 95 more if all dragon's attacks hits, only 50 more if displacement worked vs dragon.

So current hp are either 85 (with displacement) or 40. Will still wait to post action.

"WOW. Well done everyone. Wait till I tell my cousin Teja about this, she's always mouthing off this one time about how she fought a shadow dragon..." Misha trails off as she looks at the beast. "It's a bit gruesome, but let's carve off a talon or a fang to show the drow we're done."

As they look around and obtain the horde, Misha spends some time identifying and assessing the items they've found.

She takes note of the Athan-made water clock, the Athan platinum scepter, and the scabbard as useful historical artifacts to turn into the Pathfinder Society, as well as the tiara -- the first two because of their obvious Athan origin and the other two because to her they probably also have a history. While the others could also be of academic value, she has no issue with them being kept or sold by the party as a whole for their value, and helps tuck the goods away in the party's bag of holding.

She holds up the rod of the viper. "This is nifty, but unfortunately is only useful in the hands of a person whose soul is aligned with the Lower Planes. If any of you are likely to be petitioners in Hell, you probably don't want to admit it, so I suggest we sell, destroy, or leave this behind."

She sets aside the following for the party to particularly pay attention to when divvying things up:

+3 chain shirt of light fortification
amulet of natural armor +3
wand of acid arrow
2 scrolls of cure serious wounds
1 potion of shield of faith +3
ring of chameleon power

She says, "I'd love either the shirt or the amulet... but I expect one or both of those would especially be best used by Rikar as well as some of the rest of you. I'm kind of interested in that ring too--if I wear that, I could probably fill in for Kreig's scouting since he's left us." She pauses to be sad a moment, then continues to business.

"Therena, Josef, and Telman can fight over the wand. I'd suggest Therena and I each carry one of the scrolls. Someone can claim the potion, or I can put it in my haversack and whomever can grab it if they want it."

"What say you all? Once we figure this out, we should report back to those weird drow, and see that they keep their end of the deal. Then back to the svirfneblin to let them know it's all over--and we can do some trading."

Telman does his share of dragging the loot from the water, his frustration clear from the muttering and cursing under his breath. It seems to be the therapy he needs, because by the time the dragon's hoard is collected and cataloged he seems to be back to his normal self.

"The wand is nice but I'm better off relying on my bow."

"Usually...."

"As for the protection, I wouldnt mind a bit of an upgrade but you're right Misha it serves us all well to make sure our resident Grim Reaper is as protected as possible. In fact, everything youve laid out makes perfect sense. Sounds like a good plan to me."

He smiles grimly. "Including taking a trophy or two. Too bad we arent craftsmen, I'll bet Rikar would look pretty dast intimidating decked out in dragonhide armor........."

I'm cool with trying to harvest some dragon scale; Misha might think it creepy but she's like that.

We need to report in to the savage drow before we go back to town. but once we're done seeing everything there is to see down here, I am for going back to town after this and doing some shopping.

M Human (Shoanti) Spell-Less Ranger 17 | Init +4 (+12 Underground) |Perc +22 (+30 underground) | AC 30 / T 19 / FF 27 | HP 209 | Saves F +15 / R +15 / W +13 Loot tracker

"You take the armor, Misha, my breastplate will serve me as well as that," Rikar offers. "Though I'd love to have that amulet. It would come in very handy next time I go toe to toe with - you know what? Never mind, I'm not going to think about another fight like that any time soon. That thing hit hard, and I'm glad it missed some of the time. If the amulet would help it miss more often, I'm all for it."

Not sure Rikar would want something as heavy as dragon scale, if he's going to keep sneaking. But it would be great to have Misha sneak along with him, using that ring!
