As much as the prospect of having that strength belt makes Rikar salivate, I'd be okay with Kreig having it. Shame we can't boost Seeker's strength rating, since you do end up using your bow quite a bit also.

I'd be fine with Kreig getting the belt.

Josef has the lowest AC of us, he should probably get the ROP +2. The Amulet of Natural Armor should probably go to Kreig since he tends to be up front and has the same AC I do.

I'd say potion of good align weapon should go to Rikar as one of our main frontliners, as Borris as our other heavy hitter will have other ways of imbuing his weapons with holiness and smiting. Potion of cure moderate perhaps to Kreig or Josef--someone who doesn't have healing magic of their own. Oh, Rikar doesn't have them now too, doesn't he, as he went to spell-less Ranger. So he's another option.

DRB--as to "intentions" same as always for Misha -- explore carefully, pay attention to the layout, and look for ancient artifact.

If we're going to take on the mines much as we've taken on the past areas, perhaps we should automate the methodical search approach we've taken so far? Generally we've been VERY consistent with Rikar and Kreig scouting ahead about 20-30 feet in front of the group, Rikar scouts while Kreig checks for traps. I hate to throw more autorolling in but we've been doing it so repeatedly the same, it seems to make sense to just assume that unless we say otherwise, that's the plan. And that saves some time the rest of us are waiting for them to post the usual "I scout ahead" note before we can decide to do anything else.

We explore room by room/area by area.

Is there anything in particular we should look out for? It's been awhile since we talked to the dwarves and my notes aren't too helpful here.

Since Rikar spends a lot more time up front getting hit, how would it be if he took the +2 protection ring and gave Josef his +1 protection ring? And Rikar would be happy to carry the potion of CMW.

I realy want the belt of giant STR+2 as im pritty low on STR for a melee charachter.

Not sure how we resolve the +2 Str belt question. Rikar will step aside, but Kreig and Borris both want it. A fist fight? A sneaking contest? A toss of a coin, since it seems that each one has a reasonable claim to it?

Pointy Symbols & Co

I've been farming the interwebs for additional BBCode options and found a couple that work in the forums here. The first one is the use if symbols. That one is simply by using a cut & paste into the post box, hitting the 'preview' button, then seeing what sticks. I pulled the arrow symbols from the Special Characters option in a Google Drive doc. Here's a few you can try cutting and pasting:

The other trick I found is indenting on the forums. Normally the board won't maintain multiple spaces, especially if it's the first entry on a line. Here's how you do it on a computer - haven't figured it out on a phone.

Hold down the ALT key, then use your number pad to type 0160
You should see a space get typed in your post...well you'll see your cursor skip forward.

Let me know if these tricks work.

As Borris notes IC, he does grant everyone a +4 bonus to saves vs fear within 10 feet of him. I know Maeghun was walking with him, so I assume the others are close by as well.

Had a great day at the Bronx Zoo yesterday. My daughter posted a Facebook pair of pictures from the rugrat six months ago at 14 months and yesterday at 20 months in front of the rhinoceros statue, and what a difference. She also was much more alert and paying attention to the surroundings. On the way home, they were asking her about the animals, and the biggest smile was for the tigers that she saw at Tiger Mountain exhibit.

Between 90 minutes driving each way, and six hours walking around, I am one tired old bugger....

That's a shame, Misha really liked Redona and she was a good part of this group. Redona, if you're reading this, you'll be missed.

DRB, I hope I am not out of line by asking, but can you please maybe be sure the applicants know we are already very melee heavy? The early proposals I am seeing seem to all be hybrid hitter-casters, which is what both Josef is and what I am to some extent, not to mention Rikar and Borris do massive melee damage all on their own. I know you will pick based on best proposal overall, but I am picturing a templar-charger sort getting frustrated to see no room to get into combat or our existing heavy hitters getting all the damage in (as well they should!).

Hi all! Super excited to join you. I haven't had a chance to read all the gameplay thread yet, but I'll get to it by week-end's end for sure. Theresa is a Pathfinder on temporary leave, but will be happy to join a group in need of a cleric and healer. She is able to make scrolls (though I see you have a wizard already), but if you think potions would be more useful I could swap that with GM permission. As a mystic theurge, she has access to a PILE of spells per day, lots of buffs and heals, and bit of luck is an amazing buff for any character that rolls a lot of d20s each round.

Therena is a cleric of Sinashakti, the Empyreal Lord of exploration, messengers, and joy. She travels for the pure joy of it, and she is one of those happy, bubbly, nothing ever gets her down kind of people. Please let me know if it starts to get annoying! :)

Looking forward to a longer-term run with you. Rikar is a lover of wild places, and set out to find his lost love (more info in his background) and ended up coming along on this journey, where he's made some lasting friendships and seen things he never expected to see. I think coming across strongly at first helps to give a sense of her personality, so that's cool.

Misha and I, and perhaps others, were just a bit taken aback by how glibly Therena announced she'd delivered this disgusting batch of fish-spawn from a woman we'd rescued from this horrible fate. I don't think either of us wanted to have our first interaction with Therena be a negative one, though, and your response fit nicely.

No worries. Misha normally in most circumstances would be quipping glibly right along with her, she's just, as she has explained, had a very long and tiring day, and she's very concerned about not upsetting the women they rescued any further.

I think it does nothing but create good opportunities for roleplay, and I'm enjoying that.

Okay gang, back in business. I'm getting caught up and thought I'd toss a few questions at DM Papa for clarification:

1) Do we already have - or would Aeghad be willing to draw - a map of where the aboleth has emerged? So we can map out some tactics.

2) Do the Griffons by any chance do any fishing in the river? If so, do they use nets for catching multiples? I'm thinking no because they are an efficient people, but maybe they trade with others?

3) Would there be any among the Griffons (doubtful) who know how to craft a ballista? Or perhaps someone among the dwarves that will be nearby soon? If yes to either, are there materials in the area to craft them? I would require at least enough to make two.
■□■□■ Or would there be materials in the caverns we passed thru, like I the goblin run areas?

I'll write up a post now with some hair brained ideas to get back on the boards.

1) Look at the Moru Tactical map. The passageway just West of E9 opens up into a 40 x 50 foot area with most of the land part showing (it goes perhaps another 10 feet north east on the same wall).

2) Fishing yes, but spear fishing, no nets.

3) Ballista, no. Dwarves, no. No materials available in the goblin or other areas.

Ugh... okay, was there any word from Cordwin or Ellak regarding the aboleth? Or if they're in the group of dwarves?

Cordwin is coming with the group that will wait outside the mine entrance at the "E" level, while you handle the interior. Balak, is not being permitted to leave the stronghold.

The information that you receive on the Aboleth is the same as Misha remembered. {ie. she got it all!}.
