Surprise Round Con't
9 Adowyn : Draws bow
9 Leryn : Tries to break webs but fails

Round 1
23 Jirelle :
20 Oloch : Moves closer to nesr
13 Sajan : Tries to break webs but fails
12 Lirianne :

Still Up: Jirelle, Lirianne

Yes, the spiders are 10ft up. To reach them would require a DC5 Climb check to move 1/4-speed and get onto a branch 5ft up and then stab at them.

I'm expecting Lirianne to blast one of these to smithereens when she checks in.

Jirelle doesn't climb, she runs up the tree, seizes a branch and lands lightly next to the spider.

Lirianne calmly raises her pistol towards the spider crouched in the branches above, and pulls the trigger, flinching not even slightly at the sudden explosion of noise and sulfurous smoke.

Pistol vs Touch: 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 5 - 2 = 18
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 6

Her bullet rips through the canopy, sending down a scattering of leaves and branches, followed shortly by a gigantic twitching leg leaking foul ichor.

A faint flicker of a smile flits across her face as, moving with practiced ease, she calmly reloads her weapon while her companions bustle around the battlefield.

S2 web vs Jirelle touch: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

Jirelle leaps into the tree but her rapier misses its mark while the spider Lirianne fires it at suddenly morphs into a seven-legged monster.

As expected, one of the spiders immediately moves to intercept Oloch, sinking its fangs into the warpriest's shoulder (1 damage, and Fort DC14 or lose 1d2 ⇒ 1 Strength.

The second spider hisses, launching its webbing at Jirelle before stepping back from the swashbuckler in an attempt to defend itself from the sudden onslaught (Jirelle is entangled, DC12/2hp).

THUNK

The spider that Adowyn and Lirianne fired upon lands on the ground.

The one near Oloch "screams", clearly beckoning Jirelle to come aid the warpriest in finishing it off.

Just so we don't tarry too long, I'll roll the spider's bite vs Oloch now to even see if it hits...

Spider vs Oloch: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12 for 1d6 ⇒ 6

Negative. If it had hit, I'd have given Jirelle a chance to finish it off and retcon the bite. Now as it stands, you can all work to finish it off.

Now Up: Everyone (and Jirelle twice) for the end of Round 2 and top of Round 3

Retcon: I forgot to have Leryn try and break the webs on the last turn.
Strength: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16 Leryn breaks free and shrugs off the webbing
Not sure if the one on the ground is dead, so if it is, ignore Leryns attack against the spider, and shift Adowyns over to the living one

This turn:
Adowyn fires off two more arrows at the beast
Attack: 1d20 + 4 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 1 - 2 = 6
Attack: 1d20 + 4 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 4 + 1 - 2 = 9

+1 PBS, -2 Rapid shot, add -2 Shooting into combat if we switch to the one by Oloch

Leryn rushes after the spider that hit the ground.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18

Enraged by the spider bite Oloch swing his greatsword once more at the spider in front of him

To hit spider AC: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 5 + 1 = 21(+1 is from hitting a target already damaged in the last 24 hours)
Damage to spider if hit: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 3) + 6 = 11

Oloch's greatsword splits the spider down the middle, who with a final cry of anguish, seems to live no more.

Out of combat!

As you investigate the spider's nest further, you recognize that the central orb of web is a newly laid egg sack.

The eggs are worthless in Daggermark, but the webbing holding the sack is covered in fresh adhesive.

You can also potentially harvest a silk gland from each of the spider corpses.

Whoever is making the check to harvest silk glands from spiders can make a Heal or Survival check. Be careful with who attempts the check, since failure ruins the gland.

I have a +6 survival, and dont forget that we get a +2 I think for my knowledge roll at the beginning.. What have yall got?

Grand Lodge

Mogmurch - Male goblin 1 hp 7/7 AC 14, touch 13, ff13 Fort +1, Ref +2, Will + 1Init +2; Perception +3

Oloch has survival +6 and guidance..if someone has more then +6 in either of those skills feel free to be primary. I'll cast guidance on anyone who wants to assist..if no one has more then a +6 Oloch will take 10 for 10+6+1+2=19 on survival with the +2 from Adowyn's knowledge check and then maybe get's some assist to up the number. If Adowyn assists that's 6+2+1+1d20 for an auto assist on survival upping it to a 21....which feels like a save number

We can go with Adowyn auto-assisting the Guidance-enhanced Oloch...

Oloch, with Adowyn's help, and some divine guidance, extracts both glands from the two dead spiders with ease.

Following Ulisha's map, the group is easily able to navigate back to the city and begin to ponder how they will sell their recent "treasure".

You can choose to ignore Ulisha's misgivings and seek out Johannes Vox as a buyer, or look around for other possible buyers.

Should you decide to look for a different buyer, make a single roll and pop the spoiler(s) for the DC you met or exceeded.

Jirelle picks up information along with directions to Ezmerlilly Vanderpoof's shop.

As you let yourself in, you observe as a middle-aged green-haired gnome woman seems to be in the process of performing a massive inventory check of the supplies and reagents in her shop.

Flushed with the effort, she rises from her work near a crate of vials and flasks and regards you all with a welcome expression.

"Yes? How can I help you all?"

She seems to glance almost nervously out the door at the day's waning light.

"And if I seem curt, you have my apologies, but I'm in the middle of going through all my inventory at the moment..."

If you propose selling her the glands, roll Sense Motive after you inform her of these intentions.

Sense Motive DC15:
Vanderpoof seems friendly enough, but she seems a bit paranoid of being swindled. You're fairly certain that Diplomacy is the right course to work a deal with her.

If you don't make the above Sense Motive DC, make whatever check you believe represents your style of presenting a "deal" to her - Intimidate, Bluff, or Diplomacy.

"Yeah, we only want to make a fair trade. These are very fresh spider glands and we'd like to get a decent compensation for our troubles harvesting them"

Assist on diplomacy: 1d20 ⇒ 20

Ezmerlilly practically faints as Adowyn slaps the spinners onto the counter and essentially plays all her cards right up front, clearly enumerating the gnome's predicament and appealing to her concerns.

"I... uhhh..."

With a broad smile, she works to barter with Adowyn but quickly gives in to essentially every demand she makes.

You had 4 trade points going into this, which hits the maximum (3+). You've also succeeded at the Diplomacy check needed here (a 21 vs the DC13).

It almost appeared Ezmerlilly's best offer consisted of 200gp, two flasks of alchemist’s fire and three potions of cure light wounds, but Lem pressed matters further and the gnome confessed she could also provide information about Ulisha and an ancient weapon.

“A fair trade’s a fair trade. There was a half-orc blathering about some important blade or sword or something she found. Moonsilver, Sliverhex, or somesuch."

Ezmerlilly waved her hands about dramatically, but then took great care in placing each gland in a sealed container.

"She kept going on about its history to any who would listen.”

The merchant leans in conspiratorially.

“Well I have it from the horse’s mouth, so to speak, that she won’t be needin’ that sword where she’s headed.”

She draws a hand across the neck, making an unpleasant sound.

“The Vessels Between will have that one soon enough. You just need to go out there and grab that sword once they’re through, and I happen to know where they found her little camp.”

And... congratulations, that actually completes Quest #5, Webs!

The assassins of Daggermark are more affordable than other hired killers. They refer to themselves as the Vessels Between, as they take targets from life to death.

Gather Info or Know Local DC20+:
The more one is willing to pay, the more highly trained the assassin he can hire. The guild doubles as a school for assassins in training, and even these neophytes are available for hire.

Gather Info or Know Local DC25+:
Assassins sent on missions outside of the city often work in pairs so as to better protect one another.

Following the gnome's map is relatively easy as you make your way outside of Daggermark to a small hill that she's circled where she believes Ulisha will be camped out.

The hill ahead is not much to look at. It gently slopes away from the river. A shallow cave is near its top, smoke from a campfire curling upward in the gentle breeze.

The grass wafts slowly along a gently curving path up the southern face of the hill, ending in a few switchbacks as the hill grows steep near the top.

As you make your way to the top of the hill, you spot a half-orc woman matching Ulisha's description tending to the campfire.

She appears wary and surprised to see you.

"Hey! I recognize you all... what are you doing here? How did you find me?"

"What do we do...? Can we set up an ambush for when they get here?"

Just as a reminder since it's been a while. You've been working to collect all the items for Ulisha to sell them for gold, which you'd then use to purchase Silverhex so she can address the outstanding money placed on her head naming her an enemy of the Red Revolution.

"Tell you what.. They are out for the money that you owe them, right? This is the money that we have made selling things for you. Give us the Silverhex, and we will give it to you so you can pay them off."

Ulisha shakes her head.

"If what you are saying is correct, the Vessels Between have already been hired. Once they are hired for a contract, there's no calling them off."

The half-orc Pathfinder swallows hard.
