Kyra will try to attack the same spot that she was attacking!

@Quinn: You hear a yelp and Quinn, being the intelligent chap he is can deduce what has happened to Telos.

GM Rolls:

#1 vs Quinn: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 6 + 2 = 22 for 1d8 + 1 + 2d6 ⇒ (5) + 1 + (3, 1) = 10

#3 CMW: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (6, 5) + 3 = 14
Burns: 1d6 ⇒ 4

Kyra's scimitar finds the crouched Aspis despite his invisibility while Cirri seems to miss the clue from the man's grunt and instead knocks her staff against the stone floor.

Quinn also finds luck on his side as his flask shatters on an invisible target and the Aspis agent screams in horror as he catches fire.

The Aspis sorcerer chuckles in glee at his fortune as Telos falls to the ground, sneering and offering his thoughts on the great caster-vs-martial debate.

"And that, my dear fellow, is why sorcery is superior to your mundane weapons. HA!"

The man wipes his brow, retrieves a flask and drains the contents, his wounds mostly knitting as a result.

The two invisible Aspis reappear. The first sinks an arrow into Quinn (10dmg) while the second easily slides his rapier in between Cirri's shoulderblades (18dmg), causing her to drop to the ground herself.

Telos, luckily, seems to have suffered the worst of the acid, but his breath is hoarse.

Keeya, breathing heavily, returns and finds a thick mist in the middle of the hall that she departed earlier.

Round 5
5 Kyra (12dmg): Strikes #2 for 5
2 Quinn: Hurls alchemist fire at #1 for 6

Round 6
20 Cirri: Whacks the ground, missing #2
11 Telos (37dmg): At -6hp, should try to roll stabilize :)
8 Aspis #1 (10dmg): Reappears, firing arrow and hitting Quinn for 10, burns for 4
8 Aspis #2 (22dmg): Reappears standing, crits Cirri for 18
8 Aspis Sorcerer (6dmg, 2img) : 5ft step, draw and drinks potion, heals

don't know if it matters, but previously the agent Quinn was facing was #2, not #1, so #1 couldn't have shot me, but I expect they are the same.

Snapping off the arrow imbedded in his shoulder, Quinn hears a clatter or armor around the corner, and he fears the worst. Leaving the burning agent, he rounds the corner and taps his well-worn wand of Cure Light Wounds against Telos' fallen form.

CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Correct agent actions:

Round 5
Facing Cirri+Kyra, Aspis #1 : Pulls out potion, drinks it
Facing Quinn, Aspis #2 (17dmg): 5ft step, pulls out potion, drinks it

Kyra strikes #1 for 5 (scimitar)
Quinn strikes #2 for 6 (alch fire)

Round 6
Facing Cirri+Kyra, Aspis #1 (5dmg): Reappears standing, crits Cirri for 18

Facing Quinn, Aspis #2 (23dmg): firing arrow and hitting Quinn for 10, burns for 4

@Quinn: Ack, you're correct. I believe I mixed up my agent numbers above. I'll correct them next post.

The Aspis that Quinn abandons continues to scream as the flames envelop his body. He collapses to the ground in pain. (this is #2 out of commission)

(My mistake means #2 is down, but #1 is less hurt)

Reflex DC17: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23

The Aspis spots Keeya approaching and seems to possess an almost supernatural sense as he evades the icy spike that emerges under his feet.

Sadly, evasion.

A dull hum emanates from Skyreach as the ground trembles, trees sway, and glass shatters. A moment later, most of Skyreach’s northwest tower tears free from the keep; however, rather than crash to the ground, a visible aura holds the structure aloft and causes it to float above the Grand Lodge. Even the shower of stone blocks floats, swirling around the airborne tower in a nimbus of speeding debris.

Is the 17 total cumulative damage? I think i've sometimes been reading it as additional damage from that round, which now that I think about it, doesn't make much sense. I have Q. down to 10 of 31 HP, which is wrong, right? Or does it only include damage from this encounter? I think he carried over -3 HP from the previous fight, so the total might be almost correct...

@Quinn: Did you count Kyra's heals? That should be total damage sustained from this encounter as I assumed you had begun it at max HP.

I too, thought it was individual damage, not total sustained during this combat. Doesn't make a difference in this case.

GMs:
Table GMs, please begin ACT III. You have until December 10th, 2015 at 3 PM EST US [UTC-5] to complete this section.

A dozen Pathfinders come barreling into the halls and the pair of remaining Aspis quickly raise their hands and surrender. The two caretakers relate their stories, commending you for pausing to bring them back to health instead of rushing headlong in to chase the Aspis.

It seems that things have calmed throughout the campus.

Marcos Farabellus makes rounds on the grounds and gathers all Pathfinder teams to him, calling for silence while he relays new information.

“Pathfinders, we have determined the nature of the threat which confronts us! As many of you have already ascertained, a number of Aspis Consortium agents remained trapped in the Hao Jin Tapestry after we captured their back door into it. To our surprise and regret, there remained a means to communicate with the outside world and the serpents have been conspiring. This raid is comprised of two different Consortium groups coordinating in a two-pronged attack. They are aided by creatures from within the tapestry, whom they have deceived about our goals and intentions.”

“At this time, we’re still unsure about what is making Skyreach’s tower hover, but we know for certain that someone has activated the Hao Jin Tapestry. Normally the Master of Spells Aram Zey would be the one to troubleshoot this kind of problem, but he is nowhere to be found. We don’t have time to wait for him, and he may be in danger. I’m sending you in as search parties and giving you temporary clearance to travel into the restricted sections of lower and middle Skyreach. Check on the Sky Key and the archives while you’re there. Zey may have left notes around that could tell us how to shut down the tapestry."

“We must act with the utmost haste. I believe the Consortium’s plan has backfired on them, but there’s no telling how long before they regroup or, worse still, somehow make the situation worse.”

You have three areas you can go to with your new authority:

E1. Restricted Library

E2. The Chamber of the Sky Key

E3. The Tapestry Chamber

There's time to heal up and recover from that last fight, so go ahead and mark off wand charges in your next post to top yourselves off.

As you head out, Farabellus calls out a reminder.

"Remember! Get Master Zey's notes on how to close the portal to the tapestry's demi-plane! Without them, we cannot close it!!!"

As you head into Skyreach, you make your way all the way to the library, heading down a long wide hall before emerging into it.

Twelve bookcases line the walls of this cozy lounge room. Their shelves are crammed with books, scroll tubes, and tablets. Comfortable furnishings are arrayed so that scholars may examine the works without needing to remove them from the room. It may be here that Aram Zey hid his notes about the Hao Jin Tapestry.

A trio of Aspis appear to already be here, as Telos reaches the library, you observe as one hurls an alchemist fire on the ground which ignites an apparently quite flammable rug.

If the AoO (or the attacks of the other Pathfinders) happens to kill the barbarian, I'll reserve my crit for the last guy.

Table GMs – The Restricted Library [Area E1] is now CODE YELLOW

Cirri moves in, but is unable to topple the sheer brute power of the raging warrior.

Telos takes a telling blow, but retaliates swiftly in return, quickly ending the life of the second Aspis in this room. Only the sorcerer remains as the first of his images is dispatched by Quinn.

Round 1 Con't
8 Keeya :
7 Quinn : Moves up, strikes down image
6 Kyra :
4 Cirri : Moves up, fails to trip

Round 2
18 Telos : Cuts down barbarian

Still Up: Keeya, Kyra

We're on a timer as each day goes by, so hopefully these two check in - especially Keeya who hasn't posted since Nov 26th.

Grand Lodge

Female Human Cleric of Sarenrae 4 | AC17, T 10 FF 17 | HP= 35/35| F+6, R+3, W+9 | CMB= +5 CMD=15 | Init+0 | Perc +4
Tracked Resources:
Cure Light Wounds 2/50, Channel Positive Energy 2d6 (DC 16) 2/5 PotioLeLR 0/2

Kyra will go just near to Aspis 2.

Since she can't attack this turn... =\

Silver Crusade

Female Sylph Wizard 7 HP 17/27; AC 16; TCH 15; FF 13; F +1; R +6; W +5; CMB+3; CMD 17; Speed 30FT; Init +3; Perception +6;

Keeya casts a spell and suddenly a slippery surface appears on the floor below aspis #1.

@Keeya: Telos cut down (aka murderized) that Aspis already. I'll advance the round, but you can retcon an action to the last target (there's no room for grease there though).

Kyra advances while Keeya adds some (high flammable?) grease to the Pathfinder's troubles as the fire continues to rip across the floor and make it's way to the bookcase on the southern wall. It quickly ascends the shelves bathing tomes of knowledge, scrolls and other important Pathfinder lore in fire. Hopefully for the Pathfinder Society, not the single sheet containing Aram Zey's notes on how to close the portal tapestry, or all is lost...

The lone Aspis watches as the Pathfinders cut down another of his men, the flicker of the flame dancing in his glinting eyes.

"See! This proves it all! Your people are only interested in murder and mayhem!"

Concentration DC17: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15

The sorcerer attempts to work magic in between Kyra and Quinn's threatening swings, but seems unable to do so.

Round 2
10 Aspis Sorcerer : Tries to cast defensively, but fails
8 Keeya :
7 Quinn :
6 Kyra :
4 Cirri :

Round 3
18 Telos :

Now Up: Everyone!

Cirri rolls her eyes.
"I'm not the one who set fire to the library, buddy."

How do we extinguish the flames, here? Cirri has 2 spells left and Burning Hands isn't going to help extinguish the fire, much. Hydraulic Push would be more useful, but I cast it already. Would Enlarge Person or Ray of Frost help?

still stuck with mobile.. Please 5-ft step Q if necessary to stay on #2 and give K a chance to flank if possible.

"Please save the books! We've got this one..."
Studing the agent Quinn gains insight into his fighting style, studied combat and takes a swipe at the three sorcerers, and hits something real.

which one?: 1d3 ⇒ 1

swordcane: 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 6 + 2 + 2 = 25
dmg: 1d6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 2 = 5

Sorry, I read through the posts to fast.

let's try with ray of frost
Keeya moves further into the room and releases two rays of frost at the fire.
RTA: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16 1d3 ⇒ 2
RTA: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22 1d3 ⇒ 2

I could also cast snowballs at the fire or use the Breeze-Kissed ability to blow it (if that's strong enough to trip somebody it could also blow fire).

Kyra will hold her scimitar with both hands and attack

Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

Images: 1d3 ⇒ 2

Cirri, can't see map, but is there a bookshelf that can be knocked over then pushed away to keep the fire from spreading to more bookshelves?

Dark Archive

"Put the fire out! Quickly!" he says as he removes his cloak and begins attempting to smother the flames.

perception to see if there are any particularly important documents he can grab: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

GM Note:

E1: Yellow
E2: Red
E3: Yellow

Fire-fighting can be done with an automatic success if you apply 5 or more gallons of water with your standard action.

You can also try to smother the flames in a square by making a CMB check with DC15 in this subtier.

I'm good with ray of frost working like create water here, too.

Keeya begins working to extinguish the fires while Quinn lands a solid blow. Kyra duels with an image while Telos begins looking for something valuable but spots nothing.

Round 2
10 Aspis Sorcerer : Tries to cast defensively, but fails
8 Keeya : Zaps the fire with rays of frost, extinguishing a square
7 Quinn : Stabs sorcerer (real one) for 5
6 Kyra : Misses sorcerer, but dismisses an image (only 1 remains)
4 Cirri :

Round 3
18 Telos : Looks for something important, but grabs nothing

Still Up: Cirri

@Telos: Which square did you search? One adjacent to you? Or just a general room scan?

@Everyone: If you are searching for the notes on how to close the portal in the tapestry, specify which square you check on the map. While the stock map doesn't show it, there are books and papers everywhere as the Aspis were ransacking this room. If you are extinguishing a fire, pick the square you extinguish.
