A quick search of this room reveals little of value beyond the two doors exiting it and the portal to the Elemental Plane of Water. Sadly, the mudlord had no pockets nor pack to liberate.

The party quickly forms up after tending to Giovanni's wounds (you'll still want to roll those out and mark charges) and opens the western door. It takes some effort to pull the door open against the water, but reveals yet another disappointingly empty closet.

However, as Giovanni opens the other door to the east, the water rushes past him swiftly moving to lower levels. He manages to stand against the current (I don't want the hassle of a bunch of Swim and Strength checks here) and swimming below the surface, he observes a hall continues on before turning right in the distance.

Following this hall (you'll be completely underwater at this point), it turns right yet again, revealing a long hall with several doors before seeming to open up into a room far in the distance (you probably can't see this with your current light, but I want to ensure I communicate the map via PbP).

If you can make DZC10 Swim checks, there's no reason to roll as you can "take 1" to make checks here.

He nods his thanks to Bonaventure, and then hustles down the corridor, stopping to investigate the first door.

"...enlightenment? Clarity? There is something cathartic to swim through all of this water..."


Giovanni opens the first door to your left.

Strangely, being submerged, you expected to find another room complete but instead it seems some sort of magic barrier prevents the water from the hall you are in from spilling into the room beyond.

(It will take a DC5 Strength check to move through this magical membrane)

A narrow platform hugs the wall of this an octagonal room, just above the level of seawater filling the lower section.

A blue-skinned woman, reminiscent of the blue-skinned man you met earlier, stands on the platform here. Like the summoner you met earlier, she is also accompanied by a crab-like creature. Finally, a smaller version of the two watery elementals floats next to her - your arrival appearing to have coincided with some sort of conversation she was engaged in.

She looks up at Giovanni, clearly surprised to see him on the other side of the seal.

On the far side of the room, you see another of the familiar portals connecting this complex to the elemental plane of water.

Charis swims through the barrier, glad to breathe air again. Seeing the undine makes her heart skip a beat. Memories of the first undine, torn to shreds by the crab swarm swirl through her mind.

As I am benevolent, I moved Giovanni into the room so that everyone was here prior to combat and we didn't get folks as bottlenecked.

As Bon had predicted, Dayana begins weaving her arms in the art of spellcasting and he lobs some acid in her direction, which hisses and sizzles as it strikes her robes, distracting her.

"Ugh... you'll suffer for what you did to my brother! Get them!"

With an outstretched hand, she gestures to her crab companion which eagerly clacks its claws at the Maiden, slashing at her (8 damage). The small watery elemental takes a swipe at Zora but misses.

Zora's two quick stabs appear to almost disperse the elemental, but it takes a final swing from Giovanni to bring it down.

Meanwhile, Dayana tries to cast another spell, but eats a pair of arrows in addition to a magic missile which makes living hard, let alone casting. She slumps over into the water while her crab-like minion suddenly pops out of existence from the Material Plane.

A walkway continues to a similar room which appears to be a mirror image of this one. Something can be seen swimming below the water and apparently a lever raises a portcullis that would block or enable anything submerged to move freely between the two rooms.

"I cannot blame her for her rage." The Maiden gives the undine some first aid. "But, at least she will live."

"Can someone assist me with this wound?" She pulls out her wand of Cure Light Wounds and points at the gash on her side.

In the next room, the Maiden takes a close look at the creature under the water...

As Charis peers into the water, the creature within appears to be half-seal, half-shark with a maw of vicious teeth.
