Female Kobold Skirmisher Ranger 5/Bard 8 — HP 87/87 (74/74) | AC 21 (FF 16/T 15) | CMD 24 | Fort +7, Ref +13, Will +7 | Perc +4| Init +7 (+9 underground) | Sense Motive +20

What? Who said that?

Rogue 14 [ HP 36/87 (0 NL) | AC 26 Tch 19 FF 20 | Fort +9* Ref +18* Will +10* | CMD 27, 29 vs steal | Init +9 | Perc +21, vs traps +32, trap spotter | Effects: Haste]

My cloak of elvenkind will not stack with the stealth feature of the chainmail armor. If I am indeed keeping a chainmail, does anyone want the cloak? I did not look to see who else might already have one, but I was thinking Firiel or Xiddik.

Female Kobold Skirmisher Ranger 5/Bard 8 — HP 87/87 (74/74) | AC 21 (FF 16/T 15) | CMD 24 | Fort +7, Ref +13, Will +7 | Perc +4| Init +7 (+9 underground) | Sense Motive +20

Ew. I'd get elf stink on me! Well, even more.

In seriousness, that could work for me. Firiel already has a cloak of resistance, so it may not work for her. In that case, I'll take it. Otherwise, if she wants to play the shuffle game, I'd be happy to hang on to the cloak of resistance for her. ;)

Important question (in Xiddikland): What color is the cloak of elvenkind? Xiddik can hardly go wearing something that clashes with her armor. She's got serious priorities, you know!

Rogue 14 [ HP 36/87 (0 NL) | AC 26 Tch 19 FF 20 | Fort +9* Ref +18* Will +10* | CMD 27, 29 vs steal | Init +9 | Perc +21, vs traps +32, trap spotter | Effects: Haste]

Well, it was never discussed. I always imagined it would be muted or mottled considering its nature, but that is not necessarily the case. It should certainly not clash with your wardrobe.

Female Halfling Rog 3 / Sorc 4 / AT 7 [ HP 94/94 (0 NL) | AC 21 Tch 17 FF 16 | Fort +9* Ref +16* Will +14* | CMD 21 | Init +5 | Perc +16 | Effects: none ]

I've got boots that it wouldn't stack with, I think, so Xiddik can have it. :)

M Ifrit Sorcerer 14 | HP 92/92 | AC 15 | T 14 | FF 12 (with mage armor 19 / 14 / 16) | CMD 19 | Fort +11 | Ref +10 | Will +12 | Init +9 | Perc +13

One little detail I didn't sort out with leveling up: in order to take greater magic weapon, I need to ditch a 3rd-level spell, which I can do at this level.

The spells I can get rid of are fly, haste and pellet blast. I'm obviously keeping haste. I use pellet blast from time to time, but a hail of telekinetically-hurled magical arrows (doused in appropriate weapon blanch) could easily replace it. I don't use fly much, but it does come in very handy when I need it.

So, I'm thinking I'll ditch pellet blast, unless there's some powerful reason not to that I'm missing.

Male Elf--Drow (Jamleus) Wizard 14| HP 80/80 | AC 15 | T 15 | FF 11 | CMD 22 | Fort +7 | Ref +10 | Will +11 | Init +4 | Perc +20 | Sense Motive +18 |Effects: Mage Armor +4 AC

Consider this, Jtor has fly and could, with the money, make some scrolls, giving you some fly options. He does not have pellet blast. He also has haste.

M Ifrit Sorcerer 14 | HP 92/92 | AC 15 | T 14 | FF 12 (with mage armor 19 / 14 / 16) | CMD 19 | Fort +11 | Ref +10 | Will +12 | Init +9 | Perc +13

Yeah, but haste is my thang, ya know? And if I keep fly, I have enough castings of it in a day that I could make all of us fly.

But I will consider your words, Jamleus.

Coldborn Ulfen 13 - 134/134 hp + 120 stoneskin, Init +0, AC 21 (26 with buffs) [touch 12, FF 20], Fort +17, Ref +13, Will +10; Perception +19
Resources:
Bombs 10/10 | Healing Factor 35/35 | Martial Flexibility 4/4 | Bear Form 2/3
Extracts:
Shield x4 | Cure Light Wounds x1 | True Strike x1 | Barkskin x2 | False Life x2 | Heroism x2 | Orchid's Drop x1

I suggest parting ways with Pellet Blast too. It was fun for a while but TK does the same thing.

Female Kobold

In case you're wondering, Xiddik's reaction was a tossup between this and "drow-on-a-stick".

It was very close. ;P

M Ifrit Sorcerer 14 | HP 92/92 | AC 15 | T 14 | FF 12 (with mage armor 19 / 14 / 16) | CMD 19 | Fort +11 | Ref +10 | Will +12 | Init +9 | Perc +13

I think it was an excellent reaction. Though I hear drow-on-a-stick is quite good.

Rogue 14 [ HP 36/87 (0 NL) | AC 26 Tch 19 FF 20 | Fort +9* Ref +18* Will +10* | CMD 27, 29 vs steal | Init +9 | Perc +21, vs traps +32, trap spotter | Effects: Haste]

I liked the reaction. Well done.

M Ifrit Sorcerer 14 | HP 92/92 | AC 15 | T 14 | FF 12 (with mage armor 19 / 14 / 16) | CMD 19 | Fort +11 | Ref +10 | Will +12 | Init +9 | Perc +13

Okay, I'm shopping for crossbow bolts to fling around with telekinesis. Since I can load them by the quiver-full into my haversack and draw them out quickly, I'm getting a bunch. My plan was to get 200 bolts (I fling 10 at a time), broken down thusly:

100 regular
70 cold iron
20 silver blanched
10 adamantine blanched

Now I'm thinking about evil outsider and elf bane arrows, each of which costs 166 gp. A full rain of them in a round would really ruin a BBEG's day (10d4+20d6+40 if I hit with all of them), but that's an expensive round of combat. I can afford 10 bane arrows at this point - 5 of each?

Male Elf--Drow (Jamleus) Wizard 14| HP 80/80 | AC 15 | T 15 | FF 11 | CMD 22 | Fort +7 | Ref +10 | Will +11 | Init +4 | Perc +20 | Sense Motive +18 |Effects: Mage Armor +4 AC

Is there a reason to get silver if you have cold iron? My ranger doesn't carry normal arrows because cold iron are pretty cheap.

Rogue 14 [ HP 36/87 (0 NL) | AC 26 Tch 19 FF 20 | Fort +9* Ref +18* Will +10* | CMD 27, 29 vs steal | Init +9 | Perc +21, vs traps +32, trap spotter | Effects: Haste]

Just to throw it out there, what if you used daggers instead for your special-material missiles? You could re-use them in subsequent combats - if the spell allows you to bring them back, you can use the right away.

I don't believe cold iron automatically overcomes DR/silver. Mithral does, but that's not what he's proposing.

M Ifrit Sorcerer 14 | HP 92/92 | AC 15 | T 14 | FF 12 (with mage armor 19 / 14 / 16) | CMD 19 | Fort +11 | Ref +10 | Will +12 | Init +9 | Perc +13

Silver and cold iron affect different beasties - as one example, silver gets through devils' DR and cold iron through demons' - with some exceptions, I'm sure.

On the question of daggers, I thought about it, but bolts or arrows seem to make the most sense mechanically. I could keep them in quivers or bundles of 10 or 20, pull them out as one movement and launch them as another. Drawing 10 daggers seemed a bit unlikely, and in terms of pure game mechanics seemed like it would take a long time.

I suppose I could wear bandoliers with 10 daggers and draw and launch them in one go with TK, but my mental picture of Asht'el doesn't really stretch to him geared up like the Mad Biker of the Apocalypse.

Female Kobold

Cold iron is also good against fey, incidentally, and silver against lycanthropes. Asht's right, though, you can't substitute one for the other.

Where are my slackers at?

M Ifrit Sorcerer 14 | HP 92/92 | AC 15 | T 14 | FF 12 (with mage armor 19 / 14 / 16) | CMD 19 | Fort +11 | Ref +10 | Will +12 | Init +9 | Perc +13

I'm taking off to see this, so will be unavailable (and quite possibly drunk) through the afternoon and evening. Slackin' for real!

Shame on you!

Have fun. =)

Kid threatening Ash. This would never happen if his hair wasn't horrible...

It's a damn shame. I think the kid might need some black tentacles!

Randall is not only the Gold Goblin Manager and a fighting pit owner, but he's a talent agent.

An impressive resume for sure.

Randall has 3 jobs, why can't you all be like Randall.

Feral, reading through the tasks everyone's had to tackle, and especially the recent twists in Firiel's task, I have to say - you have a gift, a dark gift.

/blush

More seriously, I like my bad guys to be bad. One of my big pet peeves is villains that are villainous in character sheet only. A CE society should feel CE all the way down to its core. I hope I've done the drow justice.

M Ifrit Sorcerer 14 | HP 92/92 | AC 15 | T 14 | FF 12 (with mage armor 19 / 14 / 16) | CMD 19 | Fort +11 | Ref +10 | Will +12 | Init +9 | Perc +13

That's more or less what I was getting at. You definitely have created some squirm-worthy moments, as evidenced by the degree to which Randall and Firiel especially have squirmed, and the degree to which Asht'el was relieved by the pleasant nature of his task.

Female Kobold

Eh, I'm not buying it. I bet that kid is still evil—just rebellious.

M Ifrit Sorcerer 14 | HP 92/92 | AC 15 | T 14 | FF 12 (with mage armor 19 / 14 / 16) | CMD 19 | Fort +11 | Ref +10 | Will +12 | Init +9 | Perc +13

No way, I'm totally going to redeem him. I'll come back and rescue him before we leave the Darklands, and we'll return to Riddleport, and one day you all will thank me as our new benevolent overlord kills us first, then feeds us to his displacer beast, rather than the other way around.

I'm not going to point any fingers but I've heard there's a kobold in the party...

Male Elf--Drow (Jamleus) Wizard 14| HP 80/80 | AC 15 | T 15 | FF 11 | CMD 22 | Fort +7 | Ref +10 | Will +11 | Init +4 | Perc +20 | Sense Motive +18 |Effects: Mage Armor +4 AC

Kill the drowbold.

What? Who said that?

Female Halfling Rog 3 / Sorc 4 / AT 7 [ HP 94/94 (0 NL) | AC 21 Tch 17 FF 16 | Fort +9* Ref +16* Will +14* | CMD 21 | Init +5 | Perc +16 | Effects: none ]

Our kobold is totally evil.

M Ifrit Sorcerer 14 | HP 92/92 | AC 15 | T 14 | FF 12 (with mage armor 19 / 14 / 16) | CMD 19 | Fort +11 | Ref +10 | Will +12 | Init +9 | Perc +13

Well, with our recent posting flurry, I had to check - and Xiddik's post last night moved us into the #13 spot in the annals of most-posted PbP game! 234 posts until the #12 spot!

Female Halfling Rog 3 / Sorc 4 / AT 7 [ HP 94/94 (0 NL) | AC 21 Tch 17 FF 16 | Fort +9* Ref +16* Will +14* | CMD 21 | Init +5 | Perc +16 | Effects: none ]

Hey XiddikZideiripants, I don't suppose you can find a way to justify aiding my Linguistics check and/or inspiring competence in me for it?

Female Kobold

I couldn't see Xiddik bursting into song in front of the guards, but have an aid. ;D

Male Elf--Drow (Jamleus) Wizard 14| HP 80/80 | AC 15 | T 15 | FF 11 | CMD 22 | Fort +7 | Ref +10 | Will +11 | Init +4 | Perc +20 | Sense Motive +18 |Effects: Mage Armor +4 AC

So..I guess I am the first one to check kill women and children on the it's a sad sad drow world bingo game!

M Ifrit Sorcerer 14 | HP 92/92 | AC 15 | T 14 | FF 12 (with mage armor 19 / 14 / 16) | CMD 19 | Fort +11 | Ref +10 | Will +12 | Init +9 | Perc +13

You think that's bad? I had to convince a child that studying was worthwhile! The horror!

Male Elf--Drow (Jamleus) Wizard 14| HP 80/80 | AC 15 | T 15 | FF 11 | CMD 22 | Fort +7 | Ref +10 | Will +11 | Init +4 | Perc +20 | Sense Motive +18 |Effects: Mage Armor +4 AC

I melted children into a pile of goo. GOO!

M Ifrit Sorcerer 14 | HP 92/92 | AC 15 | T 14 | FF 12 (with mage armor 19 / 14 / 16) | CMD 19 | Fort +11 | Ref +10 | Will +12 | Init +9 | Perc +13

Maybe they could make use of the goo over at the Fleshwarpers! I did warn everyone to stay away from the Fleshwarpers. And what do they do? They go straight there, and then they try to rescue a goblin! Just 'cuz Feral makes her seem all cute.

I should have taken that kid's displacer beast. That's what I should have done. A drow would have done it.

Rogue 14 [ HP 36/87 (0 NL) | AC 26 Tch 19 FF 20 | Fort +9* Ref +18* Will +10* | CMD 27, 29 vs steal | Init +9 | Perc +21, vs traps +32, trap spotter | Effects: Haste]

*sits in leather chair, touches tip of pencil to tongue*

"And how does that may you feel, Mr. .... Tore? Please, sit back down, we need to be calm."

Female Kobold

I feel like a goblin in Troll 2.

Wow, ten new posts? Must be a lotta new words.

*Gasp*

Word! It's drow spelled backwards! THIS IS THEIR KINGDOM!

Well as soon as folks are done slacking, we'll have a big party scene.

I thought I was supposed to be slacking. "Randall, you're done for a while." I'm sure that's what I heard.

I've love to stay and discuss, but I need to slack off for a while. Bed time.

Male Elf--Drow (Jamleus) Wizard 14| HP 80/80 | AC 15 | T 15 | FF 11 | CMD 22 | Fort +7 | Ref +10 | Will +11 | Init +4 | Perc +20 | Sense Motive +18 |Effects: Mage Armor +4 AC

One of you hoodlums need to teach me how to use a greatsword!

Female Kobold

Sorry about the slacking! I adopted some viruses into my computer and the little scamps made a real mess of things.

You’re for too generous with your HD.

Female Kobold

By the way, how would a drow reward a slave? Xiddik was pretty much lying, but could she arrange for it him to have easy jobs for a while? Get him some good meals? She's not exactly gonna pull a Firiel, but it pays to have the slaves seeing you as a good friend to have (plus, Xiddik's not a total jerk).

Well you guys are high-ranking servants but you're not really in a position to offer any material rewards. Just having someone to look out for him would probably mean a lot.
