Maeve's blood runs cold at the troll's declaration, and she suddenly favors him with a murderously angry glare..."...we don't have a lot of time. Let's find him and get out. We can come back and ransack the place once Ameiko's safe before we move on." With that declared, Maeve rushes into the next chamber.

Heng tells Parity that Goti is already bound then asks for some cloth to gag him. Before doing so Heng asks a final question, "What other playthings are you talking about? Are there any other guards?"

Goti shrugs with a grim smile, "Whatever she likes," he replies quixotically. "You won't find any guards this far in."
The first door buckles from the force impact of Heng's ring, but remains partly intact until you give it a swift kick. The second door succumbs to the ring on the first try.
Inside the first (eastern) door, the chamber beyond is filled with impenatrable shadows of magical darkness. The air reeks of old sweat, urine and rotted fish. You hear a wheezing cough from within.
The second (western) door opens to a small chamber, bare but for the bones of devoured sheep, and smears of blood stains, most old but some fresher. In the corner, hackles raised, teeth bared and emitting a low growl, is a wolf of white fur, matted with blood.

Working unhindered through the dark, Parity finds Ulf chained to a metal loop attached to the wall in the corner. By touch, Parity locates the catch and releases the man from the chains, though he remains manacled. As he emerges, you see Ulf in person for the first time. He is a tall man with a large Ulfen physique, but you see features that betray his mixed Erutaki heritage. He gives you each an appraising glance, nodding in stern thanks.
"I thank you, graciously. I am Ulf Gormundr, guide and scout; but you know this already, else you would not be here. Who are you?"

Ulf nods in greeting to Malnival, but frowns at Heng, "I haven't exactly agreed to guiding you, as of yet. And I certainly won't be if you're just going on a sight seeing tour. The Path of Aganhei is no merry halfling's journey, especially this time of year. Tell me why you need a guide so desperately."

"There is another released prisoner waiting for us upstairs. I am weary, but it is several days journey back to Kalsgard and our ally needs us. I do not believe any of us will miss this raven haunted ruin."
Any idea where the white wolf went? I'll ask Goti about it if not.

"Not at all," Ulf agrees and glances down at his shackles and worn clothes. "Have you seen my armor and gear, by chance?"
"I do not think so. There were a couple rooms where we first met Goti that we have not checked yet."
I check the rooms by the zombies, breaking the doors with the pick if needed.

Goti gives Heng a shrug and blank stare when asked about the wolf. "Like I said... 'plaything'."
Once broken into, the remaining two rooms (back where you encountered the zombie guards) turn out to be a stores room and the Ravenscraeg treasury.
Personal Stores
Boxes and sacks lie neatly stacked in this chamber. Shelves holding orderly bins have been built into the walls. A wooden locker stands beneath the shelves. Despite the seeming order to this room, a faint charnel reek underlies the place.
Searching the sacks and crates reveals hard loaves, fine cheeses and dried fruits and vegetables. The bins on the shelves hold quality spices and seasonings, many imported from Tian Xia. One of the bins holds three bottles of Korvosan wine and two flasks of a clear liquor marked with Tien letters. Lastly, the locker holds a collection of animal and humanoid limbs and carcas chops, in various states of decomposition.

Treasury
Beyond the door is a veritable trove of valuables gathered into one place. Chests overflow with gold and silver ornaments. Crates hold trade bars of precious metals. Ornate, gilded drinking horns peeok out of a burlap sack, and coffers spill forth gold and silver coins.
Three chests, each weighing fifty pounds each, hold gold and silver brooches and arm-rings. Five crates weighing two-hundred pounds contain copper trade bars stamped with the rune of the Rimerunners Guild. A sixth crate holds silver bars, similarly stamped. You count twenty-three gilded drinking horns of various beasts, and one made from an aurochs horn, set with citrines. The coffers hold several thousand coins, gold silver and copper. In addition, you find Ulf's gear in one chest.
Obviously, carrying this out will be a challenge. Let me know what you take/leave.

Return to Kalsgard
Hastily, you gather as much of the treasure as you can carry and head back upstairs and out. You find Lute Haggersly in the great hall, waiting in the corner nervously; his spirits improve dramatically once you appear. Together with Ulf and the merchant, you make your way carefully down the switchback ramparts along the cliff, gaining the floor with a sigh of relief.
After packing up the horses, Heng and Malnival guide the night-blinded humans through the dark forest, gaining a mile or more from Ravenscraeg before settling down to camp for the night. After camping late, the dawn comes early. You push to make good time back to Kalsgard, though both Lute and Ulf are easily wearied from their time imprisoned, especially the former. Still, your trip is uneventful enough that you reach the city walls late-afternoon on the second day.
The caravan is much as you left it four days ago, and the crew are just settling down for dinner when you arrive. Sandru, Koya and Kelda are all present, and you are greeting with warm smiles and hugs.
Everyone should be fully healed/rested. Finish your level-ups before leaving the caravan.

Through most of the trip Maeve is quiet, although it's fairly obvious that's more from frustration and a lack of things to say than any desire to be. When getting back to the camp she's practically frantic. "Where's Ameiko? TheShadows'leaderwassupposedtobeafterherpersonallywheredidshegowhereissheis shesafeneedtogettoherpleasepleaseletitnotbetoolate..."
Translation from quickling: The Shadows' leader was supposed to be after her personally. Where did she go? Where is she? Is she safe?! Need to get to her! Please Please let it not be too late"

Sandru is a little taken aback by Maeve's barrage of words. He gives a half-smile as he replies. "The situation is the same as when you left. Ameiko and Shalelu are holed up somewhere in the city, staying out of sight. They sent a runner, anonymously, a few times to check in." He shrugs, but his look starts to become concerned. "They never said exactly where they were staying, but presumably in the Fire or Ice quarters, where the most travelers stay when passing through."
